OUYA Everywhere coming to M.O.J.O. - M.O.J.O. General

Pretty excited about this as there's a few games on ouya that I'm interested in buying. Mainly Final Fantasy 3 with controller support. Not particuarly that excited about the interface controller support as 90% of the time i use an Airmouse.

Towerfall, Soul Fjord and You Don't Know Jack - love all three of those.

Now if only we could get some 4.4 and gamestream like was promised in dec.

Ouya screws the indiedev again!

I doubt their's profit sharing for hardware vendors so it will be a user install.
Ouya games don't support the CTRLR 100%, the button mapping is off, ouya's controller has button missing (start/select) and has touch pad.
So who will fix controller support? ouya
I imagine sales are slowing down of their 2011 mobile hardware device but still need more credit card holders with children :good:
I bet this all comes at the expense of the developers, they will now need to provide support for every android supported controller
? with every resolution? :silly:
The main idea of the ecosystem was to make it easy for developers with it's set hardware :crying:
After the 'free the funds' stab in the back on indiedevs, I've openly hated ouya
I was convinced, everything they do only benefits ouya even at the expense of it's own community.
And this just proves my point... again!
Ouya, developers are not your *****!
Douche bag move!

I just read the article:
All of Ouya's existing game content will release on rival micro-console MOJO later this spring.

Mad catz, you are going to have a lot of ouya gamers really, really up set!
But then again be happy when they install their goolge play store apps :good:
WTF???
In the US MOJO now costs $199.99. In the UK it's dropped to £179.99.

This is great news! Any news on when this is going to happen? Can you give us more of a real release date then just 'this spring'?
Will this be a new 'ouya store app' for our MOJO consoles?
Or will all the ouya compatible games just be visible in the play store?

A better link to put here would have been the official MC news site.
It will most-likely be a system update.
Will this be a new 'ouya store app' for our MOJO consoles? Yes
Or will all the ouya compatible games just be visible in the play store? No :laugh:
Good move for madcatz, another bad move for ouya

I had just opened a thread in the Apps and Themes forum: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?goto=newpost&t=1268796
It seems to be a nice roster, filled with good old RPG's to the brim (Arc the Lad, Alundra, Popolocrois, Wild Arms...) Just what we were asking for.
I wonder if they're still going to use the native 1.0.1 emulator. Or an improved one.

This is huge
We bought this device because it was a great android smatphone that provided us with the best gaming experience due to it's physical buttons, and now look what we've got!!
I mean this totally changes everything. People always dreamed of a real psp phone! And it's finally happening
Actually it isn't, I got mislead by Popolocrois. It's orignally a PSX game, but since it only got released outside of Japan in its PSP version, I thought it was a PSP title.
Sounds like a step in the right direction
This news is great, funny though, I couldn't tell if your wan was saying PS 3 SDK or PS Suite SDK, lololol!
I think they will release PSP Ports to us in the future.
Hmmm, definitely a step in the right direction, although a few of those games are already available on the Android store, and I haven't even heard of a handful of them (I'd have trouble even pronouncing the titles ), and some are obviously original titles. The linked article also suggests that these titles are for the Japanese market so the list may change when it's released everywhere else...we could get different games or we might just get a truncated list.
But I mean Magical Dice Kids? Really?
I think in the next round of updates it's time they brought some more well-known PSX titles to the market...stuff like ridge racer or gran turismo, some final fantasy titles, twisted metal, tekken, metal gear, god of war...they need to bring out some more Playstation recognisable titles for these Playstation certified devices. I'm not convinced people are buying these devices to play games like I.Q Intelligent Qube. They sound like games you'd buy for a DS, not a PS device.
This is a good start but the next step in what titles are released will be crucial. New games also need to be coming in regularly.

Dude you have some strong points here, however, what's making me really positive about this whole thing is that the xperia play and the PS Vita will have access to the same store! Which means the future of the play is bright because we know as a fact that Sony will keep pushing great games for the Vita and since that's the case this means that both Sony and Sony Ericsson will keep optimising this device. While SE will keep updating the regular android software, hopefully till icecream. Sony on the other hand will keep working on bringing new games to the market + the fact that a lot of android games are being optimised for the play lately.
This device has huge potential and a brighter future. I seriously consider it one of the best android devices you could get today, it's a great package of both multimedia and gaming.
I don't regret for one second choosing the play over all these dual core phones which will be missing all the fun we play owners will have just to brag about a processor that's still not using it's full potentiol due to the lack of software support.
Cheers

Thing is due to hardware differences between the Play and the Vita we'll no doubt see games come out for the Vita that don't make it to the Play. That's what I'm a bit worried about. My point still stands that they need to get their arses into gear and release more recognisable Playstation games, and on a regular basis, for this service to have any hope of being remotely successful.
Still, a good point.

Only time will tell how great the PS store for the xperia play store will really be! What makes me optimistic though is that since Sony included the play with their collection ( tablets + Vita) this for me is a very good sign that they will take care of it.
Fingers crossed

Psp games are getting cheaper cause the PSVita (and games are being launched)
So the low prices will be sold on the android market as well, therefore sony still makes some good money from android users on older PSP games.
jeah but it is also good for us. we have full price psp games with high qualety grafics and gameplay. I never had a psp so the games are like brand new for me.

Ugh darn PayPal issues. Okay I'm reserving mine on Monday. Does anyone know "about" when I'd receive mine? Sucks that I missed the Feb 4th deal.
I am one of the original backers as well and I'm extremely excited! Dedicated system for emulators, indie games, media, all in a small cheap package. I mean I could hookup my phone/laptop to the tv and find some bluetooth controller but this is more convenient. One could also argue I could buy a more powerful HTPC, I could, but I bought an Ouya. :3
i am a backer too and i agree i could have gone with other things but this is cheap small easy to use and setup and take anywhere. and most of all its a leap in gaming for those that want light games and entertainment. i plan on taking mine to my friends house all the time, or modding my motorola lapdock to use this on the go anywhere. i have lots of ideas and plans for mine.
yeah i also backed the ouya and im excited for it. i didnt want the "special edition" one because i didnt like the colour. i also got 2 controllers for it
I backed it with $99 on Day 1. THen rebacked it for $130 when they offered the bronze one.
I discourage Ouya.
It's bound to be an utter failure.
E: Only die-hard Android nerds will buy it.
The argument "we want to get people back to television" is horribly biased and makes me laugh like a damn choker.
There is plenty of consoles out there today, yet no consumer seems to give much of a damn about "openness" of the console.
Of course they don't. They want games, not source code, GPIO and extensive customization possibilities.
E2: I never backed next-gen consoles. They break the purpose and meaning of the word "console".
well i didn't think much about it until i logged in here the other day and it was as the top of the forum... now kinda wishing i had of... oh well

I'm not a die-hard Android nerd, nor much of a hacker yet I backed it.
The OUYA will be great as a media center to access all sorts of digital content on a TV as well as acting as a gaming console for less hard core gaming. I currently use a ROKU to access Netflix, Hulu, Amazon Prime, etc and will replace that with this. Console gaming is far down the list of reasons I wanted the OUYA, but I am excited to see what might come out once it releases.
I'm a day one (maybe two) backer. I'm neither all excited or doom and gloom on it either.
The reason I did it, it looked interesting. Two, I'm hoping maybe it or something similar will catch on and give an alternative to the major consoles--Playstation, xbox, nintendo--or PC (can be expensive to keep hardware up to date. Three, the market can use something like this so the independent guy or small company can have a low entry point into getting into the gaming market beyond the mobile device There are a lot of people with good ideas, but don't have the financial resources to try the idea. Last, it was only $100, so the cost was quite minimal.
There are some good games on the mobile platform. Some that could be fun on the TV such as Shadowrun. I think developers could make something even better if the platform could support it.
I'm not saying I expect the graphics to up with the 360, PS3 or next versions of these. But as the Wii showed, if you have a fun game to play, people are willing to play with lower graphics.
Plus, I think it will be interesting to see what other people, such as the XDA community, will be able to do with it as well since it's suppose to be open. Another bonus will be able to use the other media services on Android such as Netflix, Hulu Plus, Plex, Crackle, MLB, NHL, NBA, and so forth. This is assuming side loading APKs should be relatively easy and the APK plays nice. It won't replace a HTPC, but maybe a set top box.
Have one shipping soon to my place! Can't wait.
Mine will be here before end of April. Can't wait!
I backed Ouya during its kick starter campaign. Looking forward to my kick starter limited edition with my user name stamped on it and its 2 controller

That could be a pretty valid use, but there's bunch of good set-top boxes out there. Cheaper than Ouya too.
Did Cant wait to play!
+1 for ouya
Actually i want to raise a $99 on their kickstarter campaign, but i was too late to have a pledge on their site. But defnitely give it a try when it is out in our market since this doesnt make a hole in our pocket
I backed this when it was on Kickstarter. I have a hard time accepting prophecy from someone who didn't pick up any recent consoles because you're out of touch with the direction of gaming. This isn't an insult and I totally get your response but you're missing out on the evolution of games and gaming.
For 99 bucks, I'm willing to risk it to see how it turns out. You can say "I told you so" and it will only sting up to 99 dollars worth of pain.
What I don't like is that they plan on releasing a new console every year and at 99 bucks a pop, it's still cheaper to pick up the current/next gen console.
Yep I backed it. Least its paid for. Also grabbed a 2nd controller. Just waiting on them to ship out. =)
Only thing that annoyed me on Kickstarter... didnt know this till LATER.. Is that we KS people.. didnt get a discount on the Ouya.. its the same as "preorder" price for everyone else.. which does make me feel lil cheated.. We backed the project, but didnt get any perks for the normal order.

Possible New Game Console?

Saw posted on Google that Xaomi is due for a big announcement tomorrow. They say it could be a Game Console ? I know Ouya and Xaomi where suppose to be working together? Wonder if this could be the OUYA 2 that has been talked about?
Ouya does deserve some credit. How many companies can claim 1000+ games barring Sony or Microsoft? Grated they are not all top notch games nor should they be. Ouya started as a platform for inspiring game developers and indie players which in my opinion they have done? I know the developers be it a good or bad game spent countless hours putting those games on Ouya? I should think any hardcore gamer should embrace and support taking games back to its roots. Lately Ouya has stepped up to the plate making improvements to its OS and is still adding new games regardless of the bad press?

I hope so. Maybe Xaomi will release the product and OUYA everywhere is on board.

OUYA 2

Big announcement from Xaomi on Google Search saying it may be a new game console? With the rumored Xaomi/Ouya partnership could this be the Ouya 2??

I thought Ouya still had a agreement with Xiaomi is this no longer the case?
they have an agreement in place with both of them, read it on g+ the other day. I have ouya everywhere running on my rk3288 box ATM duck game tower fall and a few others run fine on it, so not bothered whether they release a new ouya tbh
