[XPOSED] XperiaFMwoHS - FM Radio without headset - Sony Cross-Device General

Great stuff. Easier than editing the apk for sure.

Radio3.apk is easily decompilable to java code with dex2jar and jd-gui and you can try to look for such code for yourself. But I'm sure there is nothing of this kind, they use the same codebase for all devices and why would they implement the same restriction twice?
Xperia M is 4", so maybe it is just too small to get around without headset?

Working flawless with impresive reception on my XZ .101

No its not about mobile i think, i have xperia u and I can get good reception in open air, but a not so good reception (although it DOES catch stations) indoors...
EDIT: it ofcourse also depends upon the altitude, i good clear reception on 2nd floor but poor reception on ground floor

It iis possible to listen to the strongest station(s) in your area by holding a finger firmly over the 3.5mm socket and holding your phone in your hand in a certain way. Experiment a bit.

There are some others phones who have a FM radio receiver, but it requires you to plug in your headphones (the cable acts as an antenna). But I did a test on my phone (Moto G 2014), and I cut the the cable from some old headphones and I only inserted the tip of the connector and it works just fine.
Could you make a module like this one, but a generic one, that forces the FM radio app to play without headphones plugged in? Maybe a module that makes the system think that there are headphones plugged in.
This module seems to be great, but it only works with Xperia phones.

It works on my z3.
Thanks.

Is this module tested to work on Marshmallow?
I'm holding off to upgrade from Lollipop 5.1.1 to Marshmallow 6.0.1 until all my Xposed modules confirmed working. My phone is Sony Xperia Z5 compact. Could someone test it please?

Works on Z5c Marshmallow.

[Q] tweak to airplay ?

Hi guys,?
I've been using my iconia for a few weeks now and i m starting to quite get along with the Android world.
Im using a FREEBOX for router and it now has AIRMEDIA, compatible with apple's airplay (again, dont throw rocks...just asking)
It made me wonder if there was any tweaks to choose the speakers i wanna use, like airplay.
Lets say i want to use gmusic and send sound to my hifi system from the tablet, how could i do that ?
Thanks forward

Yes I did. And there are alternative wireless setups you can purchase.
Last time I was at Radio Shack, I saw a unit that you plugged into your headset jack, then plugged the receiver into your stereo which allowed wireless transmission from one to the other. I don't remember how much they cost, but I remember it wasn't too pricey.
Thanks, i ll look into it

im not the same person but i have also found i can use any headphones with my PLAY for clarification its a 2011 model r800i unbranded.
mine also shipped with 2.3.3 and had an option to chnage auto brightness and Xloud already installed
You can also get an adapter from ebay which lets you use any headphones on the xperia 2011 phones - this does not however enable you to use the microphone on these unsupported headsets.
It's just a 3.5mm headphone jack. All my headphones have worked fine.

I'm thinking it's mostly TRRS headsets/headphones with mic that appear to be incompatible.

I've tried plenty, from Sony headphones to Samsung earbuds to HP wrap-around earphones and generic no-name earbuds and they have all worked. Every single one of them.
Headsets on the other hand might be a different story, as I haven't tried headsets so I wouldn't know. But I don't see why headphones wouldn't work.
I've tried quite a few in HMV, they all worked.

Have a couple pairs of MEE headsets and the adapter works. Never used it for mic purposes, though. Just use them as cheap but decent pair of headphones.
Is this a joke or are people this stupid? First off, this doesn't apply to any r800x, THEY CAME WITH ADAPTERS. Second, Sony will GIVE YOU ONE, all u do is ask. so instead of doing this moronic trick, use your head.
Explain
Can anyone explain why and how this works? dont want to break good headphones if iam not guaranteed it will work?

GE 4.3 Bluetooth impressions

For anyone wondering the sound quality for Bluetooth is 1000 times better on 4.3.
I tested this on 3 different stereo headsets with beats enabled and disabled. It is extremely noticeable how much HTC/Google improved Bluetooth quality on the latest update.
This makes me so glad as Bluetooth quality with 4.2.2 was extremely lacking.

Is it better than the bluetooth A2DP support in the sense version of 4.2? because I use that dialy in my car and have been waiting for them to improve the quality or mods to this effect since I got the phone. I would install 4.3 and give up zoe's just for this.
OK just got done doing a side by side comparison with a stock sense HTC one, and quality is about the same.
I did notice that enabling beats on a stock HTC one has more bass than my GE but not much.
On a clarity and volume level they are nearly identical.

I just noticed something a bit ago. I was cleaning out my garage and listening to some music using my Motorola S9 HD stereo headset, and took some garbage out to the road and the music was not cutting out. I left my phone in the garage and the road is about 100 feet away from where I took the garbage. I have never had this kind of range before.

Can anyone confirm if the sound quality is comparable to using A2DP with aptX on Sense 5? I currently use the HTC Car A100 Bluetooth dongle for streaming music, and when I was on the stock Google 4.2.2 ROM it sounded horrible.

I think I'll go ahead and test it myself and report my findings. I can connect the HTC car adapter to a pair of headphones, which should give me a good comparison environment. My new car also has built-in Bluetooth with support for A2DP, but since I've had the HTC car adapter for longer, I figured I'd be better off using the HTC adapter instead.
For what it's worth, Sense 5 using either 4.1.2 or 4.2.2 has the same sound quality since aptX is present on both, but I think CSR's "CD quality" claim about aptX might be bogus. I spend most of my time streaming Google Music at 320kbps (a.k.a. high quality) in the car, so if the Google ROM can stream ~320kbps over A2DP without the need for the proprietary aptX, I should be fine.
The Bluetooth on 4.3 is still using SBC instead of aptX, and there is a noticeable drop in audio quality when doing to 4.3.
However, it isn't really a deal-breaker for me. I'll probably end up just running an aux cable to my phone instead.

How can something that's made as a universal sound enhancement can work well throughout all kinds of phones with totally different hardware? I always say the best is stock! That's like saying vandersteen speakers can only run with a tube amp or it just won't work. Not correct my friend. I have worked for R&D in a state of the art audio company my family owned and I currently work for a high end stereo company. If you know what your doing this app can greatly improve how your phone sounds. Especially with badly compressed files. But I'm not trying to change your mind. Just want you to know im semi educated.

It's kinda like adding a nice eq to an existing sound system. No offense taken. I can see what your saying but it is a pretty decent app. Better than beats or the Harmon edition of htc. I had both the m7 and m8 and used viper on both just to get it to sound the way I like. Plus it's free so if ya end up hating it just uninstall the driver and move on. Again no offence taken. Hope your day is going well.

There is a huge clarity improvement with Viper through my Shure SE535's and my AKG's.
@Mahapederdon There are two update files, which version do you use? I used the 4.x version before but that didn't work.... So I assume you are using the 2.3+ version?
Electrical Noise Through Headphones While Charging
Is anyone experiencing faint electrical noises, related to touch screen operations while you have headphones connected and the G3 is charging? I've tested two different sets of (wired) headphones and am experiencing the same issue in both cases. It only seems to occur when power is connected when charging. However, I listen to podcasts or music when going to sleep, while my phone is charging. So, this is a definite issue/concern for me. Any feedback would be appreciated.
