[Q] tweak to airplay ? - Acer Iconia A500

Hi guys,?
I've been using my iconia for a few weeks now and i m starting to quite get along with the Android world.
Im using a FREEBOX for router and it now has AIRMEDIA, compatible with apple's airplay (again, dont throw rocks...just asking)
It made me wonder if there was any tweaks to choose the speakers i wanna use, like airplay.
Lets say i want to use gmusic and send sound to my hifi system from the tablet, how could i do that ?
Thanks forward

Yes I did. And there are alternative wireless setups you can purchase.
Last time I was at Radio Shack, I saw a unit that you plugged into your headset jack, then plugged the receiver into your stereo which allowed wireless transmission from one to the other. I don't remember how much they cost, but I remember it wasn't too pricey.

Thanks, i ll look into it

Found a solution for this?
I have the Airplay DLNA speakers from Bowers & Wilkins, the Zeppelin Air. Currently I am streaming thru Twonky mobile and this works perfect on my Galaxy TAB.
I also tried Honey Player and DoubleTwist, but both of these apps do not do the trick...
Nevertheless am I searching for a way to stream Radio and Podcasts....
Who can help?

MP3, Radio and Podcasts now via Honey Player (new version 7th of July) working with my B&W Zeppelin Air speakers!! Apple Airplay on Android.. nice ..
Works fantastic...

DLNA

Ok so I tried to do a little research and couldn't come up with much... I think our phones support dlna I'm just curious how to use it and what exactly we can use it for, sorry, I'm kinda noobish on this topic... Any feedback would be greatly appreciated...thank you in advance

It would be used to stream media content (videos, pictures, audio) to DLNA compatible home theater things. Such as displaying videos from your phone on your tv. No idea how it works, or if it even works for us currently.
The stock allshare app is a dlna app, I believe.

THIS. i really wish we had the video out through the 3.5mm jack like the 9000 and a few other GS phones have. its totally screwed up that it was left out.

iMediaShare is an alternative app on the Market... works really well, if not better than AllShare. Both work "automatically" with Samsung wifi TV's which also is pretty cool You just click the available device and the app does the rest.

[Q] Good rom with RCA TV out?

Hi, I've been very, very happily using Galnet's MIUI and basically using MIUI for an age but I've recently had a housemate move in with a big TV and was thinking about going back to a rom that features RCA TV out. I was wondering if anyone has recommendations for a good rom that features TV out via 3.5 RCA cable? Or if it's even worth it? It seems Froyo was the way to go?
Thanks.
I might be wrong but I tought that all CM7-based ROMs lacked this feature.
I assumed that all Samsung-based ROMs had it.
Yeah that's what I thought too. But thought some Gingerbread ROMs had problems with TV out? Can anyone vouch for the quality. I'm new to the TV hookup thing? Thanks for your response, mate.
Sent from my GT-I9000 using XDA App
It would be nice if it could be implemented in CM7
However it isn't a show stopper for me, as I have an N900 which has TV out which I now use solely as a media player in the car (as it already has built in screens) I tried it on the TV once, but to be honest it wasn't brilliant
Not sure what games would be like from the Galaxy on a big TV

Wiimote and SGS2

Hi all,
First , i'm french , so my english is maybe bad at moment...
So , i see that with the cyanogen mod , we can use wiimotecontroller to pair Wiimote with SGS2. but with touchwizz it's impossible (i'm with revolution rom..)
Someone try to take "bluetooth" files of cyano (with permissions of course) to try it on touchwizz ? or all the system block it ? thanks ..
Blue.
I wish this would happen too, but I don't think it will anytime soon.
And why would someone want to use wiimote with am android device. Could you give practical examples? I have a wii but I dont know what to do with the remote on my android

Emulators. They play amazingly on the SGS2!
Can you imagine having everything on your phone, your favourite classic games, and you are just bored waiting around for a flight for example? Can just take out the SGS2 and Wiimote to kill some time, perfect.
Or if you have an MHL cable, hook it up for TV, and play. Better than packing up a whole console to take around with you (for example to a friends place) than having everything almost perfectly playable on your SGS2.
jpxdude +10 ! i play to Secret of mana (a old game i have on Snes) and with a wiimote , i can have a better gaming experience
Once one of the AOSP roms is ready you'll be able to link up ps3 or wiimotes to your hearts content. Not long now... Could always load the tw launcher in if you really miss it
Sent from my GT-I9100 using XDA App
The issue isn't Touchwiz but the bluetooth stack which Samsung (and HTC) use doesn't support the method of pairing to the Wiimotes, where as the Cyanogen which is based on AOSP does.
The only option would be to flash an AOSP based rom.
This will be genial... Im waiting a stable pt br rom with this function
Sent from my GT-I9100 using Tapatalk
Yeah, instead of the Sixaxis use the Wiimote. But I doubt that, because of the different Bluetooth protocol?

Arf , i don't really like cyanogen or any AOSP rom .. i want to keep my Revolution roms :'( , there is no solution to changes files in systems ?
cyanogenmod doesn't have bluetooth support of any kind yet, so we'll just have to wait.

I try my wiimote on .. it's works !!!! (the wiimote is detect and butons too ..)
How did you do it?
Why not just use said emulators on a PC that has a Bluetooth card installed? It would make more sense. I'd rather not use a controller on a device that I need to play close to my face to read the text designed to be viewed on a much, much larger display.

Anyone knows if the leaked ICS are still using Samsung's BT Stack or if they rolled back to the original one?

Lol wow indeed, I never said "just for emulators" but nevertheless, if we can have a better experience with the phone (specially for gaming) then why not?
Disadvantage of using an AOSP ROM is no TV-out with MHL support.
FYI, SixAxis Controller works on stock based ROMs. I am on stock XXKI3, and it works... so you can use this in conjunction with MHL out to use ps3 controller (tested; only works with original Sony ps3 controller - knock-off I tried does NOT work) and pipe video out to TV using MHL.
@ctomgee
did u try it out on sgs2?
i heard that sixaxis does not work on sgs2

Ive got one, had it for xmas from my daughter, pretty happy with it, wifi is fine not sure about the range as my router is about a metre away from tv so cant comment on that, running xbmc rc3 on it and dvds and livetv works well, struggles abit with true HD as dont think its hardware accelerated. Only gripe ive got at the moment is altho it came with flash player installed it doesnt work ive tried updating it from the adobe archive page but the settings page is just greyed out, maybe someone on here can fix it which is why i just joined

I've got one, I think it lacks good video drivers.
Bad synk audio video, stuttering video.
It has a diffrenet wif/BT chip compared to the 802 but same SOC (I think) so the custom roms from the 802 work but you get no wifi & BT.
The BT exists but does not work with my mouse, it pairs but nothing more, I think the original ROM lacks BT mouse support.
I would say a 802 with working custom ROMs is a much better deal for the moment, but this could change anytime soon or never.
I've had one for a while and didn't use it that much until I flashed finless bob's rom for the imito mx1/2, which has the same basic internals. It is much smoother and faster than before, but this could be partly attributed to the newer kernel this rom possesses.

Not to sound like an idiot because I'm just asking you to repeat what you just posted, but you can confirm that finless' ROM will flash onto the UG007 with no modifications needed?

I solved Bluetooth issue by installing a custom ROM: http://blog.geekbuying.com/index.php/category/android-tv-stick-tv-box/ug007/
How to install CWM-based Recovery: http://androtab.info/clockworkmod/rockchip/

GE 4.3 Bluetooth impressions

For anyone wondering the sound quality for Bluetooth is 1000 times better on 4.3.
I tested this on 3 different stereo headsets with beats enabled and disabled. It is extremely noticeable how much HTC/Google improved Bluetooth quality on the latest update.
This makes me so glad as Bluetooth quality with 4.2.2 was extremely lacking.

Is it better than the bluetooth A2DP support in the sense version of 4.2? because I use that dialy in my car and have been waiting for them to improve the quality or mods to this effect since I got the phone. I would install 4.3 and give up zoe's just for this.
OK just got done doing a side by side comparison with a stock sense HTC one, and quality is about the same.
I did notice that enabling beats on a stock HTC one has more bass than my GE but not much.
On a clarity and volume level they are nearly identical.

How about info from Spotify, does that work for you?
I just noticed something a bit ago. I was cleaning out my garage and listening to some music using my Motorola S9 HD stereo headset, and took some garbage out to the road and the music was not cutting out. I left my phone in the garage and the road is about 100 feet away from where I took the garbage. I have never had this kind of range before.

and the scary process begins changing the mid is such a pain, i'm sweating right now. I'm gonna go with the OTA update with this one. the dumps at the xda are being reported for problems.
Can anyone confirm if the sound quality is comparable to using A2DP with aptX on Sense 5? I currently use the HTC Car A100 Bluetooth dongle for streaming music, and when I was on the stock Google 4.2.2 ROM it sounded horrible.
Can we finally use Dualshock 3 controllers???

I use a Belkin bluetooth audio adapter and the sound is comparable (4.3 GE vs 4.1.2 sense). Don't know about 4.2.2 sense though. I don't have a custom stereo but it is a decent stock system. Is there a way to see if you are running adp?

I think I'll go ahead and test it myself and report my findings. I can connect the HTC car adapter to a pair of headphones, which should give me a good comparison environment. My new car also has built-in Bluetooth with support for A2DP, but since I've had the HTC car adapter for longer, I figured I'd be better off using the HTC adapter instead.
For what it's worth, Sense 5 using either 4.1.2 or 4.2.2 has the same sound quality since aptX is present on both, but I think CSR's "CD quality" claim about aptX might be bogus. I spend most of my time streaming Google Music at 320kbps (a.k.a. high quality) in the car, so if the Google ROM can stream ~320kbps over A2DP without the need for the proprietary aptX, I should be fine.
The Bluetooth on 4.3 is still using SBC instead of aptX, and there is a noticeable drop in audio quality when doing to 4.3.
However, it isn't really a deal-breaker for me. I'll probably end up just running an aux cable to my phone instead.
