[request] Slimkat for Nvidia Tegra note 7 - Nvidia Tegra Note 7

I want to request Slimkat devs to make their rom available for this tablet!
Do you agree? :highfive:

never tried myself, but i guess a making a custom rom for us is kinda hard because of the stylus features.

Hmm, I didn't think it....

AOKP(Android Open Kang Project)

hi everyone,
As you see the topic its about AOKP team which they have a new version of ICS porting method. First they started moding the devices like Nexus-S and Galaxy nexus. After succeding they came up with other new devices and ported ICS base rom to other devices such as HTC, Xoom,Galaxy Tab.Today i talked to Roman the Dev guy from this team about our beloved TF.Unfortunately he said they wont port this rom to TF. I just started this thread to ask this team for porting this rom. I think if they see our requests they might put their efforts to make it work on our devices. Im currently using build 23 of this rom on my Nexus-s.it comes with lots og built in features.
here is the link for the website.Head over it might be interesting for you.

You said yourself they already said no. Respect their decision and leave them alone; if you don't like the decision you can port it yourself.
From their point of view, I can see why they said no. We will--eventually, one day--get an update from Asus themselves, which will satisfy 99% of users. The remaining 1% will get mods based on the Asus stock roms, just like they do now. There's also already a partially completed port underway by somebody else.
Why would they waste their resources on the TF101 when there are plenty of other devices that have no ICS port, and no chance of getting one from their manufacturer, which they could work on?
Actually, the correct guy to ask for a port is this guy @ProTekkFZS . He recently went on a spree porting aokp to many devices. Roman only port to devices that he is currently using which are gal nexus, nexus s and gal tab.

if they dont want to port it got to respect that decision but if they would i would be sooooo happy a really great rom would use it
roman recieved a htc sensation from rootzwiki and he hasnt even ported it there yet so i wouldnt hold my breath dude... although it would be epic...

1, MIUI won't come to tablets until Xiaomi makes a tablet UI version
2, CM is nowhere yet for the TF
3, Currently AOKP provides more control and access to things than CM. It was stated Cyanogen by himself that CM9 will NOT contain the old CMParts style settings, but rather have them in their respective submenus. AOKP goes on the CM7 way, having a separate app what can switch controls on-off. I'm already using it on my phone (ZTE Blade), and it's currently more stable than CM or even an AOSP build.

1, Miui for tablets could become a reality without Xiaomi since they decided recently to change their code in Open source...so maybe one day
2, not yet, sure, even if CM has already talked about TF cm9 to come
3, here i think it really depends on the phone : with my Nexus S, aokp is pretty stable and smooth, but not as some other aosp (Pete Alfonso's) or CM (fitsnugly's kangs) for example.
Let's first get next Paul's builds, Asus's release then, and CM9 eventually.....at this point we all should be Fulfilled.

1. First of all, they haven't gone totally open source yet. And to include a tablet overlay, that would be a huge work. Not just graphics, but compatibility, screen issues, alignments, and such.
2. There will be a CM9 build, but only after CM9 is stable enough, and Asus released theirs so Bumble-Bee, RaYmAn, Roach, and the others can make a working one. So no CM9 for now
3. Yes it depends on that too, but show me any point of CM9 having more feature than AOKP. AOKP derives directly from CM9 sources, with the additional apps and features, plus fixes. So I consider it more mature.
Paul already published his sources for the TF, so we could easily grab his tree, change some stuff for AOKP, and make a build. I don't have quite the PC for such building processes, it would take days, and my electricity bill is already over the limit - so I can't do it definitely. But if there's someone else willing, everything can be made

1 & 2, i agree, that's sure.
3, aokp has indeed for now more features than cm9 and kept cm7 idea with nominated menu, which is more than rich of full customization possibilities. My point was in fact on the stability, efficiency and smoothness : there are, for nexus s at least, aosp roms and some cm9 builds which are better than aokp. So not in terms of "quantity" but of a certain idea of quality. Certain idea, because it is of course a question of point of view. That said, i love Roman's work.
I wish i could build on Paul's and Roman's sources for our beloved TF, but even if my electricity bill could eventuelly bear it (for a time), i have neither the pc, nor the knowledge to do so, which is worse .....here's just a very greatful and curious user....

A question or two...important!

Okay so my Note 2 is sold and I am buying the S4 (I9500) tomorrow or the day after, but I was shocked after going to the Development section! There is no Android Rev HD ROM for I9500 but I9505 version is there! Why?
Also more things are available for I9505, but for I9500 very least amount of mods! Since I used ARHD on my Note 2 I never ever used any other ROM, as it was so fluid (never thought Android could be that smooth!) and never went back to stock ROM! And I hate AOSP ROMs, so if I buy I9500 my option is to stay on Stock ROM now or what?
This could well be a deal breaker for me!
The i9500 is only available in cirtain countries and is isn't very favourable to devs because of all its closed source hardware. It's why cm etc find it a lot harder to develop for. You can get really good stock based ROMs such as omega etc but due to its restricted availability you won't get as many devs for them.
Would still be a really good buy though. Give it time, as contracts get cheaper over time there should be more interest in them
@jujuburi
Hi,
Welcome to the S4 forum.
Please check out the Help Thread for the S4 in my signature.
Senior Member 123hiten had the i9500, and managed to get hold of a i9505.
You might want to talk to him about how he was able to do that.

Yup, that got to me too, unfortunately i didn't do my homework first by checking the development section. One of the main reasons is the CPU chipset, and the amount of people who own the i9505. First it is easier as i understood to work with the snapdragon than the exynos and also most people which includes developers have the i9505 and the ROMs cant work on both devices because o the chipsets.
Now about lag, you dont need to worry, I am still in stock rom rooted and there is DEFINITELY no such thing as lag....runs smooth as butter, but i was still disappointed in the lack of ROMs which I like to flash for fun.
Kids, no fighting. If you don't like something, don't complain - move on. If there is something wrong, report.
As simple as it gets

I know I'm not supposed to ask this but:

Why is Cyanogenmod taking so long!? They posted a teaser on October ~16th and have made one more post after that, I'm actually getting fed up waiting for CM, If only I had the skills to port it myself, I tried stumbled across a few problems, anyone with Developing skills want to assist me in building CM11 for our SM-N9005 (hltexx)?
Why are there No developers attempting to make an unofficial CM Rom, or any AOSP rom. AOSP/AOKP as long as it runs like Stock. Tired of the bloating of Touchwiz.
No Flames please. ;D
Maybe because there's too many users not wanting to jump ship due to love for proprietary SPen stuff.. That means unless a developer has the phone (not many of the great ones have) and wants to run aosp, there won't be much progress.
Guess you could be the first
I'm also so desperate after aosp that I've considered trying to learn and make a aosp rom, but it's a huge jump for someone who hasn't developed; Even temasek (great kanger) hasn't tried anything on his own, and he has both great skills and a n3.
Alas, guess the whole community is waiting for cm to make the first move, once it happens there'll probably be an onslaught of aosp roms for our device.
Omnirom would be my first priority
I guess we could ask around for good devs with the n3 and perhaps somebody would start, or buy/raise money for one for Pulser, or somebody else, on a good aosp team.

Definitely waiting for Omni or PA, as they let us keep the S-pen features (from what I hear)
Keep SPen..? Not so sure.. Pa was a highly regarded rom on note 2, and omni have their take on multiwindow, but neither have SPen features as they are on stock. But as long as you have a registered pen pull out and return, everything can be made possible. I'm a huge fan of gmd pen gestures, so I've turned off all the Sammy pen stuff and I'm using that instead. Also it gives me peace knowing that I'm not getting used to proprietary Sammy stuff I'll loose on aosp.

The s-pen is a gimmick, got over it after the first week, would've been good to have it. But I can live without it.

[Q] Pure AOSP Nexus ROM

First of all, hello to all Lg G2 users. I joined the family upgrading from S4 two weeks ago.
I was wondering why there isn't any pure AOSP rom? Is there a big reason or something? We got the same hardware as N5 and from my side i dont know why there aren't any pure AOSP roms at the top of all threds.
Btw the phone is great! And i really fell upgrading from S4 is a big defference.

well that's very simple if we were aiming for pure aosp experience than we would have opted for a nexus, actually that isn't true I'm pretty sure the reason there isn't a pure aosp rom is because nobody bothers to make one, there are alternatives like cm/aokp/pa and each one is better than pure because they have new things to play with, im pretty sure that it wouldn't be hard to make a pure aosp rom I mean it'd be a simple as taking cm, removing all the features and making it look as nexus as possible

Well, i think that pure AOSP roms are always welcome to any device. I'm not a developers or got a lot of free time so i cant create it myself that's why i'm asking.

well I am currently trying to learn about making roms so once I'm successful i'll look into making a pure aosp but for now I've got lots to learn

[ROM] *×xREQUESTx×* AOSP KitKat 4.4.2

We could REALLY use an AOSP ROM over here on the Galaxy Note 10.1 (2014) -P600/WiFi Only tablet.
I know there's someone out there who is interested in starting a new project as the first developer to produce an AOSP ROM for this kick ass device:fingers-crossed:
...hopefully!
So, who here is willing to donate? I know I DEFINITELY am!
Maybe we'd even be lucky enough to get an INCREDIBLE developer like we did for our TouchWiz HYPERDRIVE(sbreen94) <---- thanks for that!!!
Perhaps even @blindndumb or @albinoman887 would be interested!!?
IF YOU'RE WILLING TO DONATE FOR AN AOSP ROM, LET IT BE KNOWN!!!
and for P601
Correct me If I'm wrong, but Exynos 5 (P600) is not really supported by AOSP roms, so only Snapdragon variants like the P605 are likely to be compatible with any AOSP rom. It's likely better to purchase a P605 and run CM11, than wait for an Exynos 5 AOSP build.
Also, why would you want to remove the S-Pen features from a Tablet, who's main selling point is the S-Pen?
I won't be complaining if it happens but personally I can't really see any real benefits to having an ASOP Rom on this device at this point in time.
I prefer ASOP on the original note n7000 as you can get the latest Android OS that hasn't been released officially for that device. Also the older hardware is lacking and slow under the TW interface so you get big performance boost by having a lighter ROM.
This tablet has plenty of grunt and currently the latest Android OS so yeh not much point having ASOP imo.
With Android L coming out that might make a port more worthwhile
I would be happily willing to donate if someone prepares a P601 version.
I don't think Samsung releases binaries for the Exynos, so that's going good to add a layer of difficulty.
Plus with a device like this, you're going to lose a lot of functionality like all the spen stuff, multiwindows, floating Windows, ir transmitter, etc...
