Bootanimation Submission - General AOKP Discussion

I heard about the bootanimation contest for AOKP yesterday, so made one a while ago. Took me a couple of hours and with 300+ images, this is what I achieved. Since I made it real quick, it could do with some refining, but I'll do it later. Here's the preview for now. I'll put up the zip as soon as the contest ends.

Root Review - 4 days of use

I am very pleased having rooted my phone. Big thanks to the devs!
The whole process took me about 30 minutes. But about 1 hour or so of reading time and downloading the right files. All i can say is READ CAREFULLY!
But i have noticed great performance from my phone. I removed all of the stock packages except for mediascape (lets face it guys... its not as bad as people say it is)
Camera has dramatically improved in speed. I use the camera often so I highly recommend anyone who uses it alot to root your phone.
Running co-pilot live for about 2 hours today. Music played for atleast 3 hours. Approx. 70 minutes of talk time. Atleast 2 hour of emails ane browsing the web. Installed a few apps from the app store (BTW google maps update today gives google navigation for canada ) Overall speed on the entire phone seems fantasic. VERY snappy.
I look forward to custom roms.

Every single improvement you noticed is due to the firmware upgrade and not the rooting. Rooting alone doesn't make any difference!
I'm sure rooting and removing alot if the stock apps makes some difference lol

Looking for Boot Animation - Dancing Droid (fresh)

First thank you to this site for hours of research and tinkering advice on my phone. And also to flipzmode for such a cool and easy way to break into the ROM world. I've loaded Fresh 2.4 for my HTC Hero and love it.
.......My 2 year old LOVES the boot animation of the dancing droid. Is there someone that could point me to a file I could play from my phone instead of rebooting it several times per day?
TIA
Travis
rebooting your phone several times a day might do it good - it'll keep the OS from getting bogged down
Besides that, a fast, cheap and easy method of getting the phone to display the animation is just to record with it a camera when you boot it up, then just copy the file over and play the thing in a video player..
sure it's very low tech, but unless someone's willing to put the effort in for you then i doubt you're gonna get it perfect, and this method can be done in 2 minutes,

Thank you Gene!
This is why I love forums. You have just made the cutest little man ever very happy
Travis
Thanks Gene!
You've also made a three year old very happy.

Really impressed.....just a thank u.

I bought my Vibrant back in September and for the first month or so I did not modify it at all. I would use if for everything movies, music, ebooks, Facebook...etc. I was satisfied with it.....so I thought. Then I got the OTA JI6 update and like alot of people I started having problems. So I looking into what I could do to enhance the phone performance. First I started looking on youtube and found some videos how to use odin, root and lagfix. Needless to say it sparked a huge interest in me. Eventually I found XDA fourms and this small obsession exploded. It was all about flashing from then on. I wasn't even using the phone for videos, music and books anymore. It was all about what new ROMs were coming out. I noticed a increased level of performance but never actually utilized the full extent of what I was doing cause all I cared about was flashing.....until about ten minutes ago. I hadn't loaded an ebook since I started flashing and lagfixing. Originally it would take like a minute or so to load the book but when I loaded one today I was like WHOA... I was blown away by who fast it loaded. It loaded in seconds. I just wanted to give a big thanks to all the developers cause with out you this phone would have been a useless POS.....and to everyone else donate, donate, donate cause they deserve it.
PS: To all the trolls, if u can't do better stop running ur mouth.

Spanning a bunch of time making the version of this for CM powering RR. It's gonna be cool if it isn't too big....it is 6 parts....should be done soon. maybe tomorrow?

Yeah, I just (sorta) finished this other bootanimation based off of this one here. It is a Resurrection Remix (A Custom Rom) boot animation...since that's one system I have been using quite a bit.
It's fairly huge, at almost 150 MB, BUT it works. There are 2 different bootanimations here, two different speeds. The first (mutant 1) is 30 speed, the 2nd (mutant 2) is 20 speed.

Yeah...I just thought about it, and at 150 MB not sure how many people would want to download this, but there's a better way. If you have a dropbox, you can simply add it to your dropbox.
Here is my personal referral link, you can actually get me 250 mb of additional storage if you use it and get an account. I use my dropbox a lot, so you should too....once I copied a MIUI ROM to my dropbox, and it took all of 1/2 second, since it was also in a dropbox. https://db.tt/gdok0G5D Say, I don't know if this is not allowed, if so sorry. but I figured why not. aaand I'm mostly just concerned that it will use up too much of my potential for future use...they have limits on using it, but not if you just scoot it over to your box I figure. That's why I'm posting this really, not to get the 250 MB, which I couldnt personally care less about.
and here again is a youtube video showing that newest bootanimation.zip in action:

///.....some time later
anyway, it is down to around 50 MB. Figured it out and uploaded it an hour or so ago. Best version for anyone having Resurrection Remix installed.
back to the original reason for this thread, the stock boot animation modified to include the htc 10's boot animation. options, here,
slow (15 fps) and fast (30fps) https://www.dropbox.com/sh/y8d01mvi6k4joge/AADojZoXh7yePKsntl6aZxnja?dl=0
these are the lower 1280 res pics in here, so the fast one really goes faster. This is the original hTC_bootup_one for your hTC m7, with modified bootanimation to mutate from htc 10's new bootanimation. Of course these are black background boot animations, easy on the eyes. No Resurrection Remix on this link, this is for the stock basic phone running lollipop 5.0.2 (probably)

Resurrecting my 6P

Hey! Since this whole pandemic I've had way more time on my hands and managed to swap the battery out of my old 6P. I've had an iPhone for the past 4 years and been out of the loop, anyone care to assist on what my next steps should be? I see things have changed. I have an unlocked bootloader, not yet rooted 6P that was rocking CM I believe before it gave out, thanks for any help!
Similar situation
Finished off my 6p's screen at the end of last year and a friend gave me his iphone 6s. Before that I'd always thought the iphone shade was just haters being haters, but damn was I wrong. They do EVERYTHING in the UI wrong. Like they eschew anything out there that is common so they can keep being "innovators", but by doing so they are just refusing to accept the things that make sense and therefore get used. So now I hate iphones and can't get people to listen long enough to all the reasons. Maybe it's time for an infographic.
Anyway, I love this 6p, it's always been badass. Prolly gonna replace it with a 4a if they ever come out, but til then I'm just glad to have a smartphone again.
I put [ROM][UNOFFICIAL] LineageOS 17.1 for Nexus 6P (angler) on there and it's going alright so far. There is a bit of stutter and the new 3600mAh battery drained faster than I'd hope, but it's day 1 and I saw a mention of rom's getting smoother after some time??? So I'm gonna give it another couple days then load AOSP since that's what I usually run and might have better performance.
If you go for lineage and decide to add Magisk, try booting into the rom and finishing setup before loading magisk. I seemed to kill my vendor partition somehow and it might have been due to flashing rom->gapps->magisk all in one. I don't know **** though, just saw a comment that matched my experience.
Exactly the ROM I was looking at and I will take precaution, thanks. Seems while trying to install TWRP, and going thru the process I am stuck on the Android animation staying at colors looping. I'll have to dig around for a fix before I can download some ROMS and test this new battery.
