Screen is green (instead of grey) - Nexus 7 Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Hello all,
my ex-girlfriend broke my nexus 7... so I ordered new display, but somehow I maybe damaged something. Now I have green instead of gray. (on each display, new one & old one, which has good colors)
Does someone know, which of hardware part affects colors?

Ok I found what did that.

Hey guys, i did a test with two omnia 7s and this is what i got
I got an omnia last december (left) and another a month after (right).
There is a blue tint on the left omnia's screen. the screen actually looks duller than the other. It's less bright and has slight colour differences.
I'd like to note that omnia on the left had a blue tint with the screen protector on, and it appears to be the same even after i removed the screen protector (which is what you see in the pictures)
Maybe you guys with omnia want to tell us how your omnia's display looks from an angle then we can see if this blue tint issue is truly normal or not

Theoretically it's possible, if you changed LCD too.
If LCD done done too, sounds like it was either a cheap one or faulty. Is viewing angle also very poor!. Had trouble with all LCDs I have ever purchased here in Thailand as most supply sources get the cheapest rubbish from China possible & lie with claims of original part to top quality grade replacement. Buy all my parts out of Thailand cheaper & with better quality ...

Black or White

I have an upgrade (Verizon) and have opted for the S3 over the Note 2, because of size and rom development.
I am a 23 year old, built dude who needs help with the color lol. Black (kinda boring but different for an s3) or white (which is so common and sort of feminine, but exemplifies freshness).
"Doesn't matter if [...] black or white"
xD
I have the black and I regret it. You see too much fingerprints and dust whereas my white never showed anything. DEFINITELY WHITE!!!
This is a weird thread, but after a bad experience with a black pleather slip case 'rubbing' against an old HTC Hero G2 and eventually causing a non-removal grey/black smudge on the phone, I avoid white phones.
The white S3 looks nice, but I have a pebble blue myself.
Don't know if it's an option but I've got the i9305 in titanium & it's a very nice colour

Who cares? Just choose and get on with it.
BTW - why ask the same thing twice?

Duplicate post was a mistake.
And I care, cause its my phone for the next 2 ****ing years and wanted to see what you guys liked to weigh my options? Wtf is wrong with that?
Both posts were a mistake - hundreds of different opinions from the community isn't going to help do anything meaningful.
You'll be asking which is the best ROM next...
The white one has better developer support, the black one has a bigger battery.
Sod this

Lol
I think that the white one looks kinda weird because the soft keys dont come up as clear as on darker colored models.

Wow. You're just a tool I guess.
Opinions from people who actually have them (versus trolls like you) actually would help.
I like both and I've seen both genders have these colors. Actually it's odd at my office since all the male have white phones.. except me. haha. But if you're ok with both and are looking for something different, go with the opposite color from your old phone.

Display issues?

So I bought a Nexus 7 first day they were available and was loving it. Then I started to see some colors coming through when the screen was supposed to be black and also noticed some light leak from the top right side. I returned it, but would like to get another one. I did a search and couldn't find anything, but has anyone else noticed these things? If not I will take another chance.

from the description it seems that you have a faulty display. i had the same problem of colors appearing on parts of the screen that were meant to be black on my note 1. it ended up being a faulty/broken display. so i suggest you should get a replacement piece.

Can someone tell me this exact part?

Hi guys
I have a used V20 but the colors of the icons etc are quite dull compared to my wifes V20 and also the whites are more yellowish when compaing side by side. Which part of the phone affects/determines the LCD colors? Is it the digitizer itself or does it have to do with the mainboard producing the colors?
Thx!!

May be comfort view is turned on? It's intended to yellow the screen.

Yes i have it turned on. Screen colors are still quite poor compared to my other V20. Colors seem faded a bit.
Im thinking maybe its due to age or wear. But our phones arent THAT old.
