Wow, thanks a lot! I also downloaded #4. It would be nice if the "It just works..." text would stay a second longer, though.
EDIT: Also the custom parts loops infinite instead of starting the whole bootanimation again. This means the text is showing repeatedly. I think this is not intended?

Great work, love the simplicity of number one.

very cool. testing #3 right now

Cataclysm Higher Quality dots + Plat Bootanimation aDDED!

@enricocid This is awesome my only suggestion would be to make the catacalysm logo pulse slower and add the higher quality dots to the first animation.

Cataclysm Higher Quality dots + Plat Bootanimation Logo Fixed Added in OP!

I need time, but i will add higher quality dots also to previous boots

Did you fix the repeated "It just works..." already? Also would it be possible to double the size of the XX part?

@EnricoD as you may already know our friend @atl4ntis is back at it again with a lollipop release. Is there anyway you can update this thread with a new lollipop boot. Thanks in advance. Have a good one.

Haha. I was wondering the same thing yesterday when I found the download links were dead.

I have an idea for a new boot...
But i do not have much time and a powerful pc available ... Consider I have a netbook now...
I can get gimp/pinta on my netbook and do it in my free time, but you have to wait a little

@EnricoD take tour time my friend. I'll be looking forward to it.

That's a little video preview, there are few errors to fix
http://youtu.be/c1a038W50Z8
Note: the video is wrong because the initial glow should be at the end of the boot ..

[MOD] Fightspit's Super Circle Battery indicator

This mod for the battery indicator in the top status bar (created by "Fightspit") is just what I've been looking for. Thanks to "designgears" for making this work on the Captivate.

That is by far the best solution for a task bar battery gauge I have ever seen. I want it. I would replace my widget in a heartbeat for that...
Nice find. Now lets see how we make it work!
EDIT: Looks like Fightspit has done a lot to make this ready for those willing to adopt it. The process for making this work on the Captivate appears to be up to our community.
Gah we need more developers for captivate that is one awesome battery mod.

This would be much better than having to take up home screen space with a widget that shows percentage. Plus, the stock indicator for the Captivate always shows way more battery level than is actually available.
I would glady donate to anyone that gets this working on the Captivate.

What do you guys think?
This is just to make sure a modded framework-res.apk would work, I just replaced the few battery images it uses. I will have to compile the xml file to do all of the percents.

You rock...This is perfect...Should have been that way from the factory...Looking forward to the release...
I tried to create the mod but even though the new battery indicator is working, I am getting non-stop FC's. These are the steps I tried:
1. Decompile stock framework-res.apk using apktool v1.3.1.
2. Replaced res\drawable\stat_sys_battery.xml and stat_sys_battery_charge.xml with the ones from Fightspit.
3. Copied all of the stat_sys_battery* to res\drawable-hdpi.
4. Recompiled using apktool.
5. Signed apk.
6. Copied to SD and then used Root Explorer to overwrite existing file.
7. Rebooted.
If someone gets this to work, I would be curious to know what steps were taken.
Hey guys, just an update, I will have this out in about 10-20min (i hope)

I am going to try it now. Thanks man.

Go Launcher HD for Tablets v1.0 Beta

I just stumbled across this today and so far I really like it. I was using the Trebuchet launcher on Thor's ICS v96, and although it does have a lot of customization it is slightly laggy. So far Go Launcher HD is running super smooth with no noticeable lag.

It appears there is very minimal options available (It is a BETA, I will forgive them)
Themeing is not a option, yet.. Maybe keep an eye out.
I like the new dock, but they need to use more of the screen for available widgets, utilizing ALL of the screen.
I can compare say, Stock Launcher, to GoLauncher Ex, where the margins on the side are smaller, giving more space, maybe I am insane. At this stage, I have set up something, but I am not a huge fan and will go back to GoLauncherEX until they sort out the theme issue and give us more options. Hopefully they can implement all those of the normal EX and maybe some more? EG, making wallpapers work better (most of us are faced to use Multipicture Live to correct incorrect showing wallpaper)
in short, it is good, but not great.. yet. Hopefully with updates, this is fixed
It's only a beta but so far so good. I'm sure themes will be an option down the line, and I agree that the top and bottom margins are way too big.
Really like it can't wait to see what happens next really sleek and fast launcher compared to the phone ver. On tablets...

[Bootanimation] Custom Carbon ROM Thundercats style bootanimation

Hello XDA community (hoping that I am posting in the right area. if not, please let me know),
I've been messing around with creating my own bootanimations in my spare time, purely for fun. I'm currently running the latest Carbon ROM nightlies on my Nexus 5, so I figured I'd make some based on Carbon's logo. The first one I'd like to share with anyone who's interested, is Thundercats-style [cel animated].
It starts off with a few frames using the Google logo so that it would seem like a seamless transition from the splash screen (I only guesstimated the placement and size of the logo + unlocked icon). It's pink/fuchsia on black just because I like to use that color combo in alot of my custom theming, so if that's not really your flavor, I could possibly take requests for a color variation.
This one is fairly simple, but I intend to work on a much more involved one with a custom typeface/logotype which would resemble the original 80s cartoon more.

[Bootanimation] My Custom SlimKat Bootanimations - Round 01

NOTE: this is a crosspost from a thread I just made over in Android/Themes, but a question was brought up and I realized that maybe there are more considerations to be taken in terms of specs, specific devices, etc if posting in a forum that's not specific to one device. I'm still a n00b on xda, so please let me know if crossposting is not allowed, and if you know anything about the issues already brought up by a CM user over on that thread http://forum.xda-developers.com/android/themes/bootanimation-custom-slimkat-t2819693
Anyway, figured since I made this for my N5, i'll come back and create a thread for it for fellow N5 SlimKat users. Enjoy.
----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Hello XDA,
After my first attempt at a custom bootanimation was fairly well received (Custom CarbonROM Thundercats style), I decided to try a variation on the existing SlimKat bootanimation since I've swtiched over to Slim and haven't looked back.
BTW I still intend to do a Thundercats variation for SlimKat, since it only seems so fitting (cats and all). But for now, I cooked up something that just jazzes up the official one a bit. I've made them in the original Slim blue hue, as well as a pink one because my phone is themed to be black, neutrals and neon pink, so it's my preferred version for myself.
Previews (the GIF compressions take away from some of the finer details, don't let it dissuade you from giving it a shot)
**V3: made it look more seamless between the google splash screen to bootanimation. also tried to clean up some weird artifacting and got the filesize way down

The images look nice and clean. Everything seems well thought-out. The transparent, multi-textured band running over the text on the loop section is interesting....
What the heck is that thing?!
One issue that I see (maybe) is the desc.txt file; I'd normally expect permissions of 644 (rw,r,r). As extracted, I'm seeing 755 (rwx,rx,rx). It probably doesn't make any difference though.
The only other issue is putting "KAT" in the logo. "L" (Licorice? Lima-bean? Lollipop?) is right around the corner. Calling it "SlimROM" might be better long term. Maybe not
Keep up the awesome work. I'm looking forward to seeing more stuff from you.

If they were going to release a rom before the end of 2014 (less than 2 months away) they were always going to have the rom in a near complete state by the middle of this month at the latest.
Mixture of lg's ui and lollipop's ui...
It is awkward
I have a feeling it's going to be a horrible mess of elements.
I doubt about "a few".... 2 or 9 . Anyway, this is a good new.
Oh man. That quick settings panel looks horrible. I hope the finished product doesn't carry those Optimus UI elements.
Jesus, that's terrible looking.
LG
Please dont use this disgusting color in lollipop
It is not appropriate color for lollipop
Why the softkey doesn't change ?
It's not final.
I don't know why are you telling it looks horrible. G3 UI is flat and fits material design. Notifications look same as on N5 + quick settings. Nothing horrible here imo...

There are already Lollipop KDZs for the F400 variants out there now! You gotta pay for them on this site but Im sure they will surface "other" places very soon
http://www.lgbbs.net/forum-65-1.html
Honestly I wished LG would provide us a more "vanilla" look... Apart from the introduction screen and notification panel not much seem to have change graphically :/
Just hoping it's not the final look
I just wish they would forget about updating to Lollipop and concentrate all of their available resources on properly optimising what we already have.
Oh god i am so hyped.
