[Q] Need help enabling developer mode - Sailfish General

Hello everyone!
Been here on this forum for long but now I'm asking for help for the first time!
Yesterday my Jolla SailfishOS was deliveried to me and I love it! But my problem is that when I'm trying to enable developer mode. When i press the developer mode from my settings and accept the terms, sometimes it says something similar to 'Error: pack-developer-mode' etc. and sometimes it doesn't say anything.
Also when I'm trying to install the system update, it says 'Problem with store, problem with upgrade'.
Does someone have similar problems or a way to solve this problem?

Did you have a jolla account active? It's requred to download some developer mode packets from store. Activating the account should fix your other problem too.
I'd need some more advanced help too. Jolla doesn't have development settings for enabling mock location. How to to that from terminal?

Ok, so I just factory reseted my Jolla and everything is working fine now!
Thankyou Anyway!

Factory settgings
For everybody seems to be clear what is factory settings in phone Jolla.
Could you tell me how to make either hard reset or soft reset for your Jolla? I do not know what is the default security code in Jolla, so I cannot do the normal reset.
Have I missed something?

Google Sign-in error...

Okay, I searched first, but don't see anything in Vibrant forums that I can use to help with this. It may be a server issue on Google's end but I thought maybe people smarter than I may have some info. Please accept apologies in advance if I didn't find something that would help before posting.
I flashed the leaked samsung firmware over the weekend (not sure if it's at all related, just info...)
Today I've been getting this error all day.
Google sign-in
You entered the wrong password or your account has changed. Please re-enter your password.
Nothing has changed, google sign in works online, just not on my vibrant.
Thanks in advance for any useful info.
EDIT***
Never mind, I figured it out I believe. Apparently google had detected unusual activity on my account and needed some verification from me. I'll have to research what kind of "suspicious activity" google detected. Thanks anyways. I apologize, do not know how to delete this thread.
Mod delete???
I got this too... may be don't delete the thread yet
Yesterday morning i faced with the same problem..
I am not even rooted...
Only unusual thing that i did yesterday was to remove the battery and put it back on..
I was able to sign in after couple of attempts though..
Hi.
I am trying for a few days now but I have not been able to log in. Please guide me on how to solve this annoying issue. Thanks.
I have the same problem !!!!
I had this problem so I rebooted into recovery and wiped cache data. This fixed for me

Crash when entering "Security" option in Settings

Hi Folks,
So, something weird is happening to my phone--every time I attempt to enter the "Security" settings in my phone, the Settings app crashes.
Observations:
1. This happened when I attempted to add my company e-mail via the Email app.
2. Initial sync failed, so I removed the account and added it again.
3. Tried to add it again, success! It asked my to enter a 4-digit lock screen pin (for security).
4. Removed it again, but still can't open "Security".
This results in me not able to set (a) a new lock screen pattern (stuck with "Slide"), and (b) I cannot modify "Device Administrators".
Tried wiping data/cache/davlik cache, still no dice
I'm running stock everything. Rooted. 4.2.2.
Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!

Play store not reachable

So, my father's P8 Lite had some connection issues, so he decided to perform a factory reset.
So far so good, except that the play store isn't reachable directly. It's installed and updated, it shows in the app list, but it's not in the laucher, nor I can find it with the search tool. It's definetely there, because I can open it via widgets, but it's very annoying that the icon isn't there.
Is there a solution, besides trying another factory reset? I've already tried to download the apk from the web, but the issue remains.

on your homescreen swipe with both fingers away from each other. then you can see the hidden icons. if its not there go onto your homescreen and make a folder by dragging two icons to each other. go into that folder and hit the + sign.
after that you get a list with apps.
could you check if the play store is in there?
if not boot into recovery and try cleaning dalvik cache... (you won't lose anything)

Developer Option cause settings FC

Hi all, I have the original european version untouched, just updated to B03 version.
After i enabled the developer option clicking on the build number, i can see it in the the settings but it doesn't open, it just FC.
Anybody know a way to fix it or to clean the settings data do i can do it again?
All I need is to enable the USB debug option, is there any other way to enable it without Dev options working?
Tnx in advance
You should do a factory reset..
I hoped there was a less drastic solution..
Tnx anyway
I did a factory reset but the problem is still there...
I cannot believe that only me have this problem...
Is there a full b03 image to flash using twrp?

Tnx
I downloaded the full image and flashed it but i still cannot go in dev options
It always FC settings.
I'm out of ideas now
Same issue for me, I think it's a common problem for the eu version. Hope they will fix it with the next update
Same here.... i think its a b03 issue. I used developer options in b02 and it was fine.
I used b03 and could go into developer options and disable/enable USB Debugging without problems...
I'm not sure if it's a common problem. Did you try to connect your device to a pc and go into developer options after that?

Random reboots. Up to 15 a day

My Mi A1 keeps rebooting every half hour or so. There is no specific app or process that I can point a finger to. It just freezes momentarily and reboots. It's extremely frustrating. Has anyone experienced this with the phone? I have not rooted or anything. I think the issue is more so after the September security patch.

I haven't experienced this. You should backup your data and factory reset. If the issue persists you should contact the seller for a replacement.

Use Google backup for app data and settings and transfer files and photos onto your computer. Backing up your apps won't be possible without root unfortunately...

Hi, I managed to isolate the problem to a specific SIM card in a specific location. As per my understanding, this is something to do with corrupt packets of data being transmitted via your network provider through a specific site (or several sites), which causes a reboot of your device. To isolate the problem do the following:
1. Switch off any one SIM card from Settings > Sim Cards
2. Monitor your phone for issues.
3. If the issue is replicated, switch on the SIM card switched off in '1' above and switch off the other SIM.
4. Monitor your phone for issues.
This should be able to identify the corrupt SIM. At this point, I permanently switched off the trouble SIM while at work (which was where the reboots kept occurring) and the phone started working normally without any reboots. I would switch on the trouble SIM in other areas and it did not cause any issues. A week later, I decided to do a SIM replacement on the trouble SIM, and this has managed to reduce the number of reboots to once a week, which I can live with.
Hope this helps!

Same here mate. Phone reboots 20+ times per day. I tried to do factory reset over 10 times, fastboot ROM flash. Nothing helps. Apps crashes, Chrome "Woops", Phone rebooting. This was last time, when I bought Xiaomi phone.

i have found the problem finally bro, the culprit is chrome webview.
to fix this -
enable developer settings and turn on "multiprocess webview"
disable Chrome and then go to playstore and search for "android webview" update the app and the reboot problem will be gone

Thanks for this. But still "not working" . I disabled Chrome and updated Android webview. But I want to use Chrome for the internet, since my account is linked to everything. So as soon as I enabled Chrome again, problems came back. And WHY THE F**K THEY WON'T ALLOW US TO SWITCH BETWEEN CHROME AND ANDROID WEBVIEW?
Anytips?
Thanks in advance
if u have parallel space uninstall it

Thanks for the tip, but still no luck =(
So I cleaned and reflashed everything with MiFlash. 2 days now, still no problems, I'll keep here updated if any thing shows up.
Another problem is that I still didn't get Feb security patch. Tried everything! Did a factory reset, became beta tester of play services and cleared framework data and cache but still nothing! But

Guess I'll have to go with that, unfortunately.
I wanted to keep my bootloader locked so I don't see that annoying message of unlocked bootloader.
I finally got Feb update patch but I'm still having reboot problems.
Starting to think I have a defective phone since this problem was solved in almost every case I saw =(
