SMS Problem......SMSC problem! - Sprint Samsung Galaxy S 4 Q&A, Help & Troubleshoot

Guys I need some SMShelpLOVE.
Im on a s4 sprint, unlocked, using Vodafone uk sim
When using stock I can send a SMS. But using AOKP(slimbean 4.3 v2) I can't send (receive is fine)
I've copied the SMSC from the stock and tried putting it into slim but it doesn't work still!
The SMSC im using is "+44785016005",145
The 145 is ALWAYS added by default at the end and I think that is what's messing it up as it is not used in the stock settings.
Is there a way to prevent that or any other great ideas?
Thanks bro

Hi, I have exactly the same problem. I am using CyanogenMod 10.2.1 (Android 4.3)
Additionally I cannot send USSD requests (like *101# for checking the balance)
My carrier is MTS Ukraine (GSM)
Recently I upgraded my phone to CyanogenMod 11 (Android 4.4.2), after this I was able to send sms and ussd requests but I wasn't able to receive incoming calls so I decided to return back to CyanogenMod 10.2.1
Any thoughs about the problem with sending sms?

I managed to get it working using 0791447758100650

Unfortunatelly in my case is does not work. I tried to set SMSC in PDU format (07918350000005F1 for my carrier) and it says "update error"

Cannot receive mms messages after flashing

Ok
After updating from 4.3 to 4.4.2 using this (http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2614772) method that basically required me to flash over t mobile n9005 firmware onto my phone (I use Rogers n900w8 canadian)
My phone is rooted and I've searched high and low for a solution but to no avail
I can provide any more information if needed
The problem is that I can send mms messages but I can't receive them
I've changed the apn several times according to sever guides most of which are right on the Rogers website
THIS IS NOT AN APN ISSUE
because I can still send them no problem
If it was an apn issue I would get a message saying that the message was unable to send

Thanks for reply.
i did.i tried UK BTU firmwire before Sintel .Setup was successful. But it didn't start properly. also There was no basband info in about devices.
Should i try the new BTU firmwire?
When i got my phn , it came with xsp (France) firmwire.I also tried that after btu.that didn't work.same problem happened.
and then i flashed Sintels one.
I suggest you btu latest G1 because with Singapore G2 I face same problem of from call settings if I select additional settings, I was getting error no network/sim card error, otherwise all works fine, but after flash btu G1, all fine may modem was matching with my country.

I can't send or receive MMS unless I unroot :(

So I know this is a weird issue. I've done my research and tested way too many times before posting this up
OK, so the problem is that I can't send or receive MMS on my LTE network. Also, I believe this causes me to have problems with my GPS as it sometimes it can be detected and sometimes it won't.
The steps I've taken to rectify the problem:
1. Completely unrooted phone and flashed stock firmware from sammobile.com.
2. Checked if MMS and maps were working on the stock firmware and they were. I checked the USSD code using *#1234# in the dialer and it was working.
3. Done the rooting process and flashed new recovery and new ROM.
4. Tried to send MMS and issue persisted again. Also, when I send the MMS it disconnects my LTE and stays disconnected till I reconnect again.
5. I checked the USSD again and it says "Connection problem or invalid MMI code"
6. I have flashed so many different modems and bootloaders and the problem is still there. Unless I unroot and stick to my network provided ROM.
7. I checked APN settings, manually set new ones up using the network APN settings and still nothing.
What is the problem here? Is it my phone? A hardware issue? WHAT THE..
Any help is appreciated :fingers-crossed::fingers-crossed::fingers-crossed:

I have no answer to this, but you're not alone.
See : http://forum.xda-developers.com/galaxy-s4/help/i9506-temaseks-unofficial-cyanogenmod-t3204676
As far as I can tell, we're both having the same issue with MMS.
I recently tried various things, including a fresh ROM re-install (with everything wiped) : with the stock ROM, MMS are working fine but with anything CM 12.1 based, they aren't (unless I'm connected to WiFi, as I explained in my post, which points to a data connection management issue).
I also tried the latest modem available (CM 12.1 based roms were using XXUDOC5, I'm now on XXUDOF2), to no avail.
Have a nice day all

As that rom is based on this rom, search this thread for anything related to mms. If it works on wifi then it's 100% a wrong apn setting or maybe a bug.

It's definitely a bug. I've already tried everything to do with my providers APN. I installed so many modems as well no luck whatever. I'm pretty sure is an easy, small script that is an easy fix for a developer =/

I don't think the fix is that easy for them because there are already a few patches applied in the past for MMS. Your best bet would still be to search that thread I gave you and see if someone came up with a fix.

Thanks a lot, the fix was in there : http://forum.xda-developers.com/gal...lucard24-s-t3066696/post62511742#post62511742
I'm still wondering why that fix that's been added in CM 12.1 since august wasn't in our "custom" CM 12.1 roms but still... IT WORKS !
Have a nice day !

In desperate need of a stock Sprint ROM for 306SH

I recently ran my main phone through a full cycle in the washing machine.. need to get this backup phone running. Please help if you can. I've activated the phone through Tello but I could only find a TextNow version of the 306SH ROM, so I cannot receive text messages or place calls because it wants me to use their dialer.. Disabling the TextNow app doesn't fix anything. When I try to use the default dialer the process crashes.
Thanks!
NO ROMMMS

Sorry man that sounds rough... Did you have any luck finding a rom other than the textnow version?
