[Q] Network or Sim card error msg in additional settings but calls are working fine - Galaxy Note 3 Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

I updated my Note 3 via odin few months ago from sammobile.I've installed Sintel(Singapore) firmwire and then updated few times via OtA update. But i noticed there is no call recording option , i heared that is available after D3 update.
After installing the firmwire from sammobile I've got a little problem. whenever i go to Additional Setting from call settings i got an error message "Network or Sim card error" but calls are working fine.I can't change call waiting status but except this other options are Available in Call settings》additional settings. But Every time that error message apperes in additional settings 》Call forwarding & I can't even Forward my calls .i am in Bangladesh.
what are the solutions of these problems.

Thanks for reply.
i did.i tried UK BTU firmwire before Sintel .Setup was successful. But it didn't start properly. also There was no basband info in about devices.
Should i try the new BTU firmwire?
When i got my phn , it came with xsp (France) firmwire.I also tried that after btu.that didn't work.same problem happened.
and then i flashed Sintels one.

I suggest you btu latest G1 because with Singapore G2 I face same problem of from call settings if I select additional settings, I was getting error no network/sim card error, otherwise all works fine, but after flash btu G1, all fine may modem was matching with my country.

If I were you, I would prefer to leave them to service centers.
I bought from Germany but using it inside eu and region lock wiped automatically for non eu sim cards.

Problem Since Rooting - Unable to Dial Out or Receive Calls

Ive been unable to dial out or receive calls on my note 3 since rooting it. I have tried everything I can think of to get it resolved but have been unable to do it. This is not a problem with my mobile phone provider as I have tried my friends sims and they dont work either. I have installed the stock rom and reset factory defaults but I am still unable to use it.
I will pay someone to fix this for me now as it has now gotten out of hand! I have sent it to samsung and they say the device has been rooted and will not touch it! Any help would be much appreciated!!
Many thanks
Andy
P.s. If you can fix it, I will pay!!
Did you lose your IMEI after rooting? Or can you still register on your network? Also did you trip knox by rooting your phone?
Please help. My network doesn't work on custom rom but works on official firmware.

Thanks for your reply Steven1962. The IMEI Number is still intact though I am not able to register on the network. I did trip knox when I rooted my device, I just sent it to samsung for repair and they wouldn't touch it as the knox was tripped.

So if I understand correctly you are prompted to enter your PIN after reboot but you still can't register on your network even though the PIN gets accepted?

I am not actually asked for a PIN. I do believe it registers to the network as it says im conected to Virgin, I just cant dial out or receive calls.

I think if it doesn't ask for a PIN it can not really register to the network. What firmware are you on currently? What's the version of your modem?
Flash last stock from your country with Odin ....

Yes, check your baseband version.
And flash the stock firmware for your device may help.

Apologies for the late reply, I have been waiting for my phone to come back from Samsung. How do I know which baseband version I need for my phone?

Install Phone INFO ★Samsung★ app to get info about your device (CSC, baseband, etc...)
Then open Menu > 'Firmware Browser' to download the stock firmware for your device.
You can flash full firmware, or extract the baseband (modem.bin + NON-HLOS.bin) and flash them separately.
Hi everyone,
vndnguyen, I'll address this question to you but hopefully help the original poster too.
I ran firmware browser in the above app but neither the vodafone nor btu (does btu mean unbranded?) version match my device. My bootloader, baseband and pda all end NC2 and my csc NA4. Even on Sammobile I cannot find that.
So my question is does it matter which one I install? If I install any vodafone uk offering will I be ok? If I install any uk btu version will it just be stock minus the bloat?
I've tried a few custom roms but always seem to head back to stock so wanted to flash pure stock if that makes any sense.

thx for your rep, my net mode is set as lte/wcdma/gsm... however, when i set it to wcdma only, on low signal areas the signal drops dramatically, because of freq. change, i keep flashing new modems in order to find the suitable one :/

Hi
that is an option is most likely a modem issue, you could also see what modem your country operator uses ( check in sammobile) and flas it to see if you get an impovement

I'm totally messed up with Service mode on samsung galaxy duos. Which caused not recognising any SIM. Help me out to reset everything to Service mode default. Thanks in Adv
@Iway76: You get a kudos for searching before posting, even though this isn't the right forum for you. I would recommend attempting to install a stock ROM using Odin, not Kies, and see if that helps. If that doesn't help, you may have to take the device in for service as you may have a hardware issue like mine, where the SIM card tray died while attempting to unlock the S4 - again - and it just was a coincidence that the hardware failed while working on the service menu unlock.

SIM is not working on S3 NEO GT-I9301I

Today, i have bought a branded s3 neo GT-I9301I for my mother. Everything is ok but sim is not working on it. I tried different SIMs of different networks but no results. Each and every time it shows a message "not registered on network".
And it is v strange that on the shop sim was working but after reaching at home i put my sim and boom that message showed up.
What should i do now? I can't give it back to the seller as it doesn't has any warranty.
Help me guys.

You could try this:
got to settings > more networks > mobile networks > network operators > search network, then select your network when it shows up.
If that doesn't work you could probably try factory formatting since its a new phone.

I did but it didn't work at all. It's really frustrating. I think this mobile is locked to some specific network provider. I mean it was delivered by some network service provider like Vodafone etc.

Okay then if so go to sammobile.com find the firmware for your region and flash using odin. If your phone is locked to a specific carrier this should work.
Also you could try a custom rom.

S7 Edge rebooting constantly

Hi folks, my wife's S7 Edge kept on freezing then rebooted itself. I tried everything to try and fix it and then performed a factory reset. All seemed fine until Google Play Services needed updating to enable other Google Apps to work. As soon as the updated Google Play Services app tries to install, the phone reboots itself and sometimes goes into a boot loop. I've taken out the memory card, cleared the cache and data in Google Play Services as well.
Can anyone help with this?
The phone is on EE in the UK.
Thanks in advance

Same problem here.. sometimes my s7 edge turns off and back on randomly.. then stuck in a boot loop.. after a while it will boot normally. But that will take like an hour or something..
I did try to remove the sd card ect.. but still the same problem.
Don't know what causes the problem.. thought I had it after a system update a or 2 month ago...
Maybe flashing a new stock Rom with firmware will work?
But I do think know if that voids the warranty or trip the Samsung knox..
Kind Regards,
Toxicz

Thanks for the information jetboss!
Does it matter if I flash a other kind of csc ect to the Galaxy s7 edge? I have read that you are able to flash the csc home if you want to keep your data. And the csc version if you want to completely wipe all the data on the phone..
I have a galaxy s7 edge (sm-g935f) from the Netherlands.
So downloading the latest Netherlands version on Sammobile should be fine?
Kind regards,
Toxicz

well from experience the files from Sammobile are just the pda files i dont think you need to flash the csc unless you're using a rom from the different region, i could be wrong but just use the Netherlands version.

This also happened to me twice, but it only did in a SPECIFIC physical location, while I had bluetooth / wifi / location services on (in Rio's Olympics, just outside of the Beach volleyball arena). I had stock rom, ZTO (Brazil) CSC. My phone is the Edge, international variant (G935F).
It got me thinking if it could be something related to a Beacon (BLE) or something like that. It never happened again, ever, only in an exact location, specified above.
