Phone speaker cuts out - Sprint Samsung Galaxy S 4 Q&A, Help & Troubleshoot

I just got a refurbished Galaxy S4 from Best Buy after breaking the screen on my LG Optimus G. I took the phone home and rooted it, but now I realized I'm having an issue with the speaker for the earpiece. Whenever I try to make a phone call, I can hear the other person for a couple seconds, then it just cuts out. Other person can still hear me, I just can't hear them. I hang up and try again, but can't hear anything then from the beginning. I found that if I go into voicemail, it will play a message just fine from there through the speaker and basically resets it so I can hear part of a phone call again before it breaks out again. Phone is stock 4.3 rooted with nothing removed or frozen yet. Really appreciate any help anyone can offer, either on how to fix this or how to unroot it to take it back to Best Buy if that is needed. Thanks.

Anybody have any idea what's going on here? This is getting really annoying and I would really like to try and get it fixed. Thanks.

No Sound through the Speaker

Seems like I have yet another issue with my Wing. Out of nowhere, I mean I wasn't even using it and it took me a little bit to realize it, the speaker stopped working. All of sudden my phone won't make a sound. I can hear when I make a call, but nothing else. No ringtones, alarms, music, anything that comes out of the speaker. Please don't tell me my speaker blew and please tell me there is a solution. Any help is greatly appreciated and thanks in advance.
there is, replace the speaker lol
Maybe the speaker contacts or terminals are not proper. If you know how to dis-mantle your wing, you shall probably fix it yourself. Did you drop your wing by any chance?
I was thinking about taking it apart myself, but didn't want o ruin it any worse than it already is. One thing I do recall before it completely went is that when you sliding the volume up and down, you know how it usually goes "bink"? Well when I had tried to turn it down, it sounded all cracked and distorted. I heard turned my phone off about 10 minutes later so I didn't really pay attention to it.

problem with calls...

Hi i'm having problems with outgoing, incoming, and during calls...
i have a sprint mogul, unlocked, running stock sprint rom.
lately, sometimes when i make an outgoing call to someone there is just silence. there is no ringtone or anything. i look on the screen and it says it is connected but there is no sound on the other end.
when someone makes a call to me, i pick up but there is no sound. it says i'm connected but it is just silent.
i tried calling my friends phone, i saw that it was calling him, he picked up and said hello but i couldn't hear anything then i said hello and he couldn't hear me either. he called me, it came in and connected, i said hello and some other stuff but he couldn't hear me and i couldn't hear him.
when calls are working and we can both hear eachother, my phone goes silent then we both can't hear eachother. i did not hit mute or anything and the phone says that it is still connected.
i was running a custom rom before putting the stock back on. i have hard reset and everything else.
other thing that is also happening is that when i reset my phone (pressing the little hole) it goes straight to bootloader...
it also went straight to bootloader after running the customizations and resetting. to get out of this i have to take out the battery for like 15 min and then it starts up normally...
Can anyone help me with this problem? or is my phone dying?

Can't Hear Anything During Calls

Hello,
I just bought a HD2 off eBay. The only problem is that when I am in a call I cant hear the person talking, but they can hear me. Yes, the volume is up. The phone is not on mute or anything like that. I can hear the person on the line if i put in on speaker or listen through headphones. Is there anything I can do to fix this, or is the ear speaker just not functional. Thanks,
logan
Sounds like a hardware problem. Try a hard reset and see if that fixes it; if not, you got a bad phone.
I have tried hard reseting multiple times. Yeah, thats what I'm afraid of. The phone is used, and the log says it has over 40 hours of talk time. So I would think at one point it worked. Thanks for your reply, I contacted the seller and am probably gonna just send it back.

[Q] Cannot hear incoming call

Just brought a widlfire 3 weeks ago running on Android 2.1. It was working alright till yesterday when i cannot hear any incoming call unless i put the phone on speaker. Had tried resetting to factory setting but did not work. Anyone can help? Appreciated.
Maybe broken incall-speaker that on the front side of the phone :/
thanks. looks like you are right. will have to send for repair. sigh.
When I'm on a call, sometimes I can't hear the caller but the other party can hear me. It happens randomly & usually when I'm in a middle of a conversation. Anyone experience this?
I've tried hard-reset but it still happened. Sometimes I can be on the call for 30 mins or more & it doesn't happen. Something wrong with the hardware?
Very interesting....

[Q] Freezing while watching video /No audio when calling/No ringing sound

NEXUS 4.... Sound does not work when I make a call or someone give a call so I can not hear caller and he can not hear me. Also phone is not ringing only vibrating. And when I am watching video so sound disappears and then phone freeze. It seems like sound makes all this issues like when device can not play sound so phone freeze. Then I can only restart/reboot phone and it helps for a while {when I am lucky so it does not freeze all day}. These issues did not happen after upgrading android version. I bought this device as new in U.S and I came back to Europe before I tried if phone works. So I am having this issues since I bought this phone. And I gave it to phone repairman to check what is wrong. He said that speaker/microphone works. He reinstaled software twice but it does not helped...then he said that he has no idea how to fix it.
I will appreciate any tips/advices.
Thanks in advance.
