Can't Hear Anything During Calls - HD2 General

Hello,
I just bought a HD2 off eBay. The only problem is that when I am in a call I cant hear the person talking, but they can hear me. Yes, the volume is up. The phone is not on mute or anything like that. I can hear the person on the line if i put in on speaker or listen through headphones. Is there anything I can do to fix this, or is the ear speaker just not functional. Thanks,
logan

Sounds like a hardware problem. Try a hard reset and see if that fixes it; if not, you got a bad phone.

I have tried hard reseting multiple times. Yeah, thats what I'm afraid of. The phone is used, and the log says it has over 40 hours of talk time. So I would think at one point it worked. Thanks for your reply, I contacted the seller and am probably gonna just send it back.

I've had my XDAI for ages and the microphone (or whatever is in it) has just died! When just using applications and games or whatever there is sound coming out of the speaker and I can hear people speaking when taking the call. I just cant speak to them. I tried recording me when taking the call. It records like the first second if that, then crackles and doesnt record anymore. So I assume the microphone is cactus? :\
I can talk through the handsfree but I do need the microphone.
If this is the problem, easy to replace, source part etc.? Remembering Im in Australia (ho hum) and yes I do have a T-Mobile I got second hand in the states, bought it back to Australia and threw a Telstra SIM in it.
Your comments and thoughts are appreciated. Love this board, too much good info. for a newbie to absorb.
Thanks again
Michael
well if it works for a sec then the mic is prob not dead
i would try doing a reset first a soft reset and if that dont help
a hard reset
yup tried soft and hard resets. Since my post I've also tried a few ROMs etc. on it. All without any difference. Still the 1 sec. and then nothing.
Thanks for your reply but still no fix
Michael
I have heard of numerous people having problems with audio after prolonged use of handsfree headset, have you tried inserting something into the jack socket and wiggling it about a little, it could be the contact inside is problematic.
To be honest I never had a handsfree until the microphone started to play up.
I threw an old jack i have (notsure if that iswhat u meant) and gave it a jiggle. Still the same.
I've attached a recording. i say hello three times. Before I've said it the second time its dropped out. (just clarifying things)
Thanks again but still not cigar :\
bump :/

Sometimes disorted Sound during phone call

Hi,
since a few weeks I have a crackeling noise which comes up and goes by itself during a call. It´s only hearable on internal speaker and it doesn´t matter how good the connection is. Mainly it starts at the beginninning of the call and the it goes slowly.
I don`t know how to describe that. It is somesthing like static crackeling.
I already contacted the support. They told me to make a hard reset, but it doesn`t help. Same than before. A hardware problem????
Maybe a rom update is helpful? In that case I have to wait for the german one on htc site.
Any ideas what to do without sending my loved phone away??
Thank!
did u use hd tweak to ramp up the vol? i did and had cracking sounds.. it is too loud for the speakers..
No nothing like that.

Phone speaker cuts out

I just got a refurbished Galaxy S4 from Best Buy after breaking the screen on my LG Optimus G. I took the phone home and rooted it, but now I realized I'm having an issue with the speaker for the earpiece. Whenever I try to make a phone call, I can hear the other person for a couple seconds, then it just cuts out. Other person can still hear me, I just can't hear them. I hang up and try again, but can't hear anything then from the beginning. I found that if I go into voicemail, it will play a message just fine from there through the speaker and basically resets it so I can hear part of a phone call again before it breaks out again. Phone is stock 4.3 rooted with nothing removed or frozen yet. Really appreciate any help anyone can offer, either on how to fix this or how to unroot it to take it back to Best Buy if that is needed. Thanks.
Anybody have any idea what's going on here? This is getting really annoying and I would really like to try and get it fixed. Thanks.

LG L7 no sound at all

OK,so i was minding my business one day, when my phone started ringing. It wouldn't be awkward if i had heard the sound coming from the speakers, which i didn't. I got to sound, and turned the volume up,just to be safe. But still,it didn't work. Ok,so my back speaker doesn't work. I went on and put my ear to the speaker used for talking,i couldn't hear anything. So again,i turned up the volumes, but still nothing. The person on the other side could hear me,but i couldn't hear them. I got home, and decided to try and see if my headphones work. But no. I can see the icon, but i can't hear anything. So,i guess its a software problem, and i go and hardreset it. But still no. I can hear some kind of a static noise when i play a video or anything with sound, its more like a puff, than static. It shouldn't be hardware, since i hear no sound on headphones either

in call volume

Hi all, my gm 5 plus seems to have a pretty low in call volume. i need to be in a quiet place to be able to hear the person on the other end of the line. anyone else have this problem?
i have the same problem
eny ideas ?
I also have the same problem. The volume of the phone is very low., I almost don't hear the other person when calling. I need to put it to speaker to hear it decently. Any possible solution for this issue?
I'm ok with the volume, it's just that sometimes my voice gets interrupted at all, and the other person seems not to hear me. Haven't been able to find a way to fix it yet.

i had same problem after 7-8 months from buying. i went to the guarantee service and they made it without any fee. they said it was because of dust but i don't believe them. just go to the service, they will fix it.

i had mine send in for repair, because it fell, causing some dents in the metal frame. they replaced it for free, it was louder, but still too low. my huawei p9 lite and now my iphone are so loud i can almost use the earpiece as the speaker.
Speaker was dirty inside in my gm5plus, telpa service cleaned it up, now I can hear when call someone. (Or you can use a needle, but BE CAREFUL)
