Zooper Silent Mode Toggle

Hey Jagwar
Thanks for the silent mode template, it works great! After setting that up, i got to thinking, could I use Tasker to hold a variable so I could use it in a date field, as in, if I use a "on tap" in zooper for +1 or -1, could I then use a #Tvar# in a date field? And/or a Calendar field?
TIA

I'm not sure whether I understand the questions right.
The OnTap Task has to change a variable that then is transfered by a profile. You can display that variable in any place in Zooper later. Is that what you want?

Zooper BBM like unread notification for all apps

Zooper multi-mode Icons with Tasker

Hey Jagwar. Thanks for the tutorials. They were a big help. I wonder if you can help me with a new one.
I want to build sort of a notifications widget using icons instead of counts. I have gray and colored versions of the icons (eg. Twitter). I want it to turn to the colorized version when the phone gets a notification for the app and go back to gray when I open the app. I tried to repurposed your tutorials for this but I'm stuck trying to get it to work properly.
Sent from my Nexus 5 using Tapatalk

Hello,
you can follow this:
Zooper BBM like unread notification for all apps
The only change is that you don't make two bitmap items. Tasker Part is the same.
After you did the Tasker stuff, add a bitmap to your Zooper Skin and make the grey Twitter icon as the default bitmap. After that go to Advanced Parameters and add :
$#TTW#>0?/storage/sdcard0/ZooperWidget/Icons/twiitter_color.png$
#TTW# is your Notification count variable
/storage/sdcard0/ZooperWidget/Icons/twiitter_color.png is the path to the colored Icon
Did it work?

Zooper Dynamic Icons

Yeah, it worked. I ended up having to use an absolute path tag to get it to work, though I'm not sure why. I'm just sorting out the scaling that I want, but it seems to work now.

Anyone know if Tasker is able to show multiple alarm times? Alarm1, Alarm2 ?

Not to my knowledge

toggle 2g 3g
@jagwar1 thankyou for this thread very useful.
I've managed to create a toggle switch using zooper and tasker to toggle WiFi, and button glows when WiFi is on, I'm trying to recreate the same for 2g 3g but I am having no luck, icant figure out what to write in the zooper advanced parameters ($#NCSTATE#=5?[BO]0[/BO]$) or even if tasker is correct (#Tdata# =%data )
Any help would be gratefully received...

You figured out what to do in Tasker?
NCSTATE works like this: Cellular State (0 disabled, 1 airplane mode, 2 enabled, 3 connected, 4 connected and roaming, 5 data on, 6 data roaming)
To my knowledge there is no data variable in Tasker. How do you moniter the state?

Yes tasker I have sorted, stupid didn't see the option to toggle data.
As for the zooper variables I have tried various combinations to get it to monitor 1 state without luck I think you need a 3g on off option , I also tried to use #NDATAON# as this is either 1 or 0, but this seems to link to whatever data is on WiFi ,3g
Edit...
Yep, we definitely need a mobile data state where 0= disabled, 1= enabled, 2=connected......

Display List of Missed Calls, not just a count.
Hi,
*****I TRIED TO POST THIS AT YOUR WORDPRESS SITE BUT I KEPT GETTING THE ERROR 'FEHLER: Bitte gib einen Kommentar ein'.
I've read through your guide (Notification Counts) and it seems very thorough. I have a similar requirement, and I wondered if you could help me. I want to use UCCW to display a list of missed calls - not just a count but an actual list. Something like:
10:17am Fred Flintsone (Home)
10:19am Barney Rubble (Office)
10:21am Wilma (Mobile)
10:23am +44 0123 456 789
Then I want to use PopUp Widget to open the UCCW widget and display the list on my home screen.
I think I need to use Tasker with UCCW to accomplish this. But I have some questions:
1) Can I use the widget to dial the number?
2) Can I get Tasker to identify the names of the callers if they're listed in my address book?
3) If I call back Fred Flinstone (number 1 in my list), is there any way that I can remove him from the list and bump up the other names?
OR:
Is there a better way to do this? I use Contacts+ as my contacts manager and it's easy enough to get Tasker to open the Contacts+ missed call screen if there's been a missed call. What I'm really after is a pop-up window on my home screen that resembles the Contacts+ app, so maybe I should be looking at one of the 'Floating Window' apps which would Contacts+ to appear in a window rather than take up the whole screen.
Any thoughts?
Regards,
Miles

Sorry, I forgot about this.
In Tasker there is the state "Mobile Network" (2g, 3g, 4g), so you can moniter it in Zooper.
But I couldn't find a way to toggle 2g and 3g.

Weird, I tried it right now and posting works fine for me, even when I'm not logged in.
Your question:
1) yes, Tasker Shortcut with Task Action "Call" or Plugin AutoContacts
2) yes, Plugin AutoContacts
3) yes
OR
I think you have to create a big Tasker scene and use a lot of variables to transfer the information you need and look into AutoContacts.

Enjoyed your ROM on the Note 2 and am looking forward to running it for the Note 4. I sent you a message on Telegram and I look forward to testing this out. Have a great day!
I'm no tester Brian, but its really good to see you over here! Remember the "post drama" Nebula hangout...good times ....hahaha! Always loved your work and look forward to seeing Alliance for DE! Awesome!
Oh yeah forgot to mention, there's not many of us with these phones compared to other devices or the same device on another carrier so thanks for considering us!

Unfortunately, there weren't enough testers and there isn't enough interest in the ROM so the developer will not be creating it for our phones.
That's a bummer. I was really looking forward to it.
I loved the theming engine in Alliance. I had my Note 2 looking just like I wanted it. But there's no way I would ever use one of the comic book hero themes.
It's too bad nobody wanted to test for this. I would but I don't have time. My wife's health problems take up all my time.
This Rom would be great to have on the note 4 DE, has there been any update on this one

Testers are a must! There are so few of us with this phone and even fewer that have the ability or time to help. If you look at the download counts of the roms we do have available, they get dozens of downloads instead of hundreds or even thousands of downloads that other roms get. We're pretty lucky to have the devs we have at the moment.

Yes, we certainly are.
I've ran Poprocks (Lollipop) and Firekat (KitKat) as well. They are Tmobile roms that the developer creates Verizon variants for. They are pretty solid!
Well, I'm down for testing and donating if the developer decides to go ahead with a build. I have a KK bootloader phone and In couple of weeks I will have a lollipop bootloader phone so I can test with both.

Heads up motivations (peek) removal

Love the device but I can't seem to find a way to disable heads up notifications! The system UI tuner cannot be activated by holding the gear icon on the T-Mobile V20. Any help ?
Sent from my LG-H918 using XDA-Developers mobile app
I'm looking for the same answer, I'd prefer a bit more granular control of my notifications as the options available aren't enough. All I'd want to do is hide the "peek" option.
Seems like you have to go to the app specifically and tap notification from there you can hide them for that app.

How did you turn on battery percent?
In the battery section in settings there's a toggle
Sent from my LG-H918 using Tapatalk
None of these settings are just for peek, you'd need access to the System UI Tuner for a slightly more granular adjustment. I would still want to be notified with a sound/vibration, I'd just want to hide peek which gets in the way when I'm doing other things on the phone.

Bumping because I am looking for the capability to do the same thing. For some reason they (ATT and/or LG) have blocked the System UI tuner which allows for blocking peeking notifications while keeping the sound and vibrations. Android not having a simple option to globally disable peeking is greatly annoying.
If there is no way to enable the System UI tuner is there another way to disable peeking notifications on the LG V20 while still allowing vibration/noise? Silent notifications are almost as useless as peeking/heads up notifications.
LG has. There has never to my knowledge has there been a LG device that has had it since it was introduced.

System UI Tuner is a special option, that has to be enabled (akin to Developer Options), added to Android M and above so barely any phones have it. Some carriers and manufacturers have disabled it on those that do, such as the V20.
Regardless of the System UI tuner there should be some other way on the LG V20 to disable peeking per app or globally. We are just trying to find a way on the LG V20 without also having to silence sound/vibration. There also does not seem to be an app to take care of the issue since those like HeadsOff are no longer compatible.

-Block (No notifications)
-Show silently (no sound, vibrate, or peek)

add me to the list
this is an unbelievable situation, its driving me crazy.. i did lots of experiments and researches, still no solution, appearantly its an app based and not a general thing, i dont know why, apps and Andriod N.. Whatsapp in my case will be the exmaple
My conclusion is based on the below tests and readings:
- All my whatsapp settings are set to vibrate and/or sound, but no pop up
- Am using Novo launcher, so i thought the launcher is the problem, however, tried the default one, but still pops up
- surprisingly, Textra app, Telegram app, some other calendar apps, doesn't show a pop up peek if u disabled it from the app itself. keeping the sound and vibrate on as wanted.
- I sent to whatsapp an email, but the email they replied with was useless and didnt address the problem itself
- i tried few apps at the play store, but all of them didnt work, as non is built for Andriod N
- the only way is what mentioned in this thread, where you will block the notification alert and show it silently, and thats not what we want.
- Yes the UI Tuner is not activated and cant be activated in this device
The End result, its a problem in these specific apps with Andriod N, and its the problem from LG not activating the UI Tuner, if only there is a way to communicate with LG and force them to solve this problem.
Glad to hear others thoughts..
Dear all,
I can confirm that i was able to block the headsup using adb commands. Refer and search through the forums here at xda, few threads explained it.. Easy in 30 min done
adb shell settings put global heads_up_notifications_enabled 0
You're welcome.
You should still get the ticker-like notification in the second screen.
thanks it works

Yes am still getting the ticker and thats a very useful feature in LGv20, i dont mind that as long as the headsup is disabled.
Ok now how do we get the notification to show longer in the second screen? Most my apps time out in about 2 seconds with the exception of the stock messaging app, and bluemail (both show for approx 5 seconds)...

Fcc Car Launcher [official thread]

Hi, all!
Welcome to the official thread for FCC Car Launcher - a customizable auto launcher for android head units (Rockchip MTCB/MTCD+ and FlyAudio) as well as android smartphones/tablets.
Its major features:
- Full function launcher with supports of all standard third party android widgets
- Deep integration with head units (MCU etc). My mission here is to implement as many functions in the launcher itself as possible. In case of Rockchip devices to get rid of most xposed modules (my deep respect to their authors, great job, but they sometimes slow down the device significantly) and replace them with the normal built-in functions.
- Customization. The FCC Cat Launcher has some built-in customizable widgets which can help to make your home screen more personal (you can adjust widgets size, colors, features etc).
- Built-in music widget with support of FM Radio (with ability to give names to radio stations), Spotify, Google Music, PowerAmp, PC Radio, Neutron and Stellio players.
- One-click navigation widgets with quick route building (supports Waze, Google Maps, Yandex Navigator and other navigation apps).
- Phone calls via connected phone using 'Ok Google call [name]' request or by clicking on built-in Contact widget.
- Other features.
FAQ
1. I love MiniMap but can you put other navigation app there?
Unfortunately this is not possible. MiniMap is part of FCC and is based on Google Maps API for Android. It is not another app (not even a Google Maps app), that can be just replaced within the FCC interface. Android does not allow to integrate third party apps (navigation apps) inside another third party apps (FCC Launcher).
If your head Unit supports Split Screen (ie can display Two apps at the same time), this can be partially done with split screen.
2. Is it possible to cache maps for MiniMap for offline use?
- Yes. In the latest FCC Launcher beta version you can select Offline Mapbox map and download it to your device.
- For Google Maps - No. Caching is directly prohibited by Google license for using Google Maps API (MiniMap). Moreover, Google even does not provide developers with such a caching API. Therefore you will need a constant internet connection to use MiniMap. The somewhat good news is that the map itself does some short-term caching on your device, so it saves some data (but not too much).
3. Notifications are only popping up for a split second / flashing. How to fix this?
That means that animations are disabled on your device.
- Go to the device's Developer settings: FCC settings - System - Advanced - Developer settings (if it asks for code - it's "7890" for AllWinner T8).
- Scroll down and change 3 parameters "Window animation scale", "Transition animation scale" and "Animation duration scale" from "Animation off" to "Animation scale 1x".
4. Routing on Google Maps in MiniMap doesn't work. It asks for API key. What should I do?
- Turn-by-turn navigation in built-in Google Map fragment is directly prohibited by Google. Therefore it is not possible to use it. .However if you have your own Google Developer account (Google Maps API key) you can use it to draw a simple route line on the MiniMap. Please note that it will NOT have any turn-by-turn data like distance to next turn or estimated time of arrival.
I do not recommend to purchase Google Developer account just for this feature:
- Google Developer account will cost money for you (a one-off payment) which is reasonable only if you really want to develop android apps.
- Routing requests cost money. But currently Google provides a 200$ per month free usage for Maps, Routes, and Places every month which should be enough for individual usage.
Links: Get API key, Pricing. Don't forget to enable Maps API and Directions API in your Google Cloud Console.

Using it for some time and works great on MTCB with Malaysik ROM.
Highly recommended.

Well it was posted in the Android Auto forum so thought I would ask. Seems its not relevant to this section then.

Agreed. I've already asked moderators to move this thread there (along with the other launcher's threads which are located here). Hope they can do this.

Great to have this official thread at right place
I would like to suggest new widget, if you are wiling:
Altitude. In addition to existing build-up widgets (odometer, speed), it would be nice to have altitude. For some of us enjoining off-road adventures in high mountains, it would be nice to have a snap view of GPS altitude.

Wow! Great! Never seen such prompt reaction to feature requests Thanks!
BTW, your auto brightness control is great. For users wondering why so many sliders I'll tell that I struggled with 'dumb' auto brightness (with no additional control beside day/night levels) as they are either too bright or too dimm in dusk or dawn. So it is great to have it customisable to your needs.

1.
Latest beta crashes of I go to FCC settings (enters the main settings screen but crashes if I select FCC settings). So I could not access new auto brightness config to check how it works.
2.
Altitude works nicely. I'll suggest to round it to integer (remove decimals). Decimals take valuable space in widget and are basically useless as GPS altitude precision is in meters (even tens of meters to be exact in commercial GPS units)

Ok. Thanks for info. I'll check. What type of device do you have?
For now you can access the same setting from Brightness widget.

They are allowed. This launcher supports all third party android widgets.
Moreover it has a built in music widget which supports: fm radio (with ability to give names to radio stations), Spotify, Google Music, PowerAmp, PC Radio, Neutron and Stellio players.
I suggest to make a YouTube video on a how to/overview of the launcher. The price is a bit high . I will rate this launcher now at a max of 3.99 dollars. For the premium version. Now it looks like you what to make fast money . I see this before with a lot of new apps. At the and it all goes wrong. Sorry to say this. Thanks for the nice developments at this stage

Been using this launcher for the past couple of days. Works really well (px5 head unit). Gonna try to make a video of it soon. Keep updating and adding features, before this I was using Car Launcher Pro, but that seems abandoned. Basically what I'm always looking for is an attractive and functional launcher where buttons and text are large. Could we get a screensaver with time, current song, speed, and weather info on a black background (like in Car Launcher pro, only there it only showed time)

I think I can, but first I need to understand better why don't you just setup a separate screen with large widgets (this is all possible with FCC Launcher). Many users told me that the launcher helped them to get rid of screensavers since all the info can be made large enough and is available.
So, what do you really want from screensaver what is not available now via home screen? Thanks.

What is Edge Sense Plus?
You should already be familiar what Edge Sense is. By squeezing your device, it lets you perform some minor actions.
Edge Sense Plus extends those actions and adds some more features for you.
How does Edge Sense Plus work?
It is a simple app you install from playstore, linked at the bottom.
To get it working, you enable Advanced Mode'in the native Edge Sense Settings and select "Launch App" as custom action for both short and long squeeze
and pick the appropriate Edge Sense Plus Activity.
When the app starts the first time you'll get those instructions step by step again.
What can it do?

You can choose from 40+ different actions

Per app actions:
With the per app action, you can define different squeeze actions per app. So the chosen action will be executed dependent in what app you are currently are.
Double Squeeze: (Premium)
If you often accidentally trigger a short squeeze, that won't happen anymore if you map your desired action to the double squeeze gesture.
You can define a double squeeze interval, to ensure you are quick enough to trigger it every time.
G-Sensor usage:
If enabled, will be able to execute different actions depending on the current position of your device, whether it is flat or upright in your hand.
That way you can have six different squeeze gestures: short, long, doublepress in flat or upright device position.
Magisk system mod:
The magisk system mod replaces the native Edge Sense app and allows customizations on lowest level. That makes it possible to:
Execute actions while the screen is off/locked
Have pocket detection (disables edge sense when the proximity sensor is blocked)
Customize the colors of the feedback graphics
Media control:
The media control will override your set squeeze actions while media is playing so you can control your media.
That includes play/pause, increase/decrease volume and skip to next and previous track.
Squeeze sounds:
Ever thought it would be funny if a squeeze of your U11 would make a sound, if it is a *click*, *oink* or whatever you think of?
You can use any .mp3 file to make that happen!
Sidebar:
Remember that image?
We have that for real! Our Sidebar has three different panels, Applications, Recent Apps (Premium), Quicksettings (Premium).
You will also be able to customize the panel color to any color you like.

Think there is any way to run FGO on this ROM? You ( or devs ) nearly tackled all problems I had with Miui roms, but because of the "special" root simply unrooting and removing SuperSU is not enough.
