[Q] New to GS4 and introduction - Sprint Samsung Galaxy S 4 Q&A, Help & Troubleshoot

OK I admit I'm leary I dropped my phone Tuesday and totally shattered (still in tact) my screen and immediately put a protector on to keep the glass splintering from happening. Bummed but oh well Sams Club is having a .96c cent GS4 pre black sale on Sunday night so it seems I'll be leaving GS3 behind and getting a GS4 I would rather wait until after first of year to see what comes but I need to take advantage of the sale.
I have only had this GS3 2 months after bricking 3 E4GT's and getting this because 4th one power button broke, replacement being on BO.
Coverage here in OKC for sprint is so so and gets better as time goes by so I'm always on WiFi so otherwise everything seems to work the same. Being on the E4GT for past almost 2 years all the young tech guys I relied on do not know anything about the GS3 or GS4 so as a 48yr gray haired guy I'm learning as I go.
I really would like a Note3 or the rumored GS5 when I went to sprint to get the screen cover the tech's said they have really been liking the LG L2 but not having a removable battery would take me back to my iphone days and I hated the control that apple had over me. Sprint tech guys always like seeing the newest things on my phone but when it comes to roms and rooting they are a lost cause.
My wife needs a new phone the has the galaxy s w/slider keyboard, I originally got my E4GT from amazon .01 cent Black Friday sale 2 years ago and it is best that both she and I stay on same contract terms.
Question: Anyone have suggestion of a S4 rom?
Been running [ROM][4.4][Beta][UNOFFICIAL][Updated 11/21/13]Cyanogemod 11 for D2SPR with total 4.4 kitkat and using PA Gapps.
Prior Ran The Collective 4.3.1 w/PA Gapps.
I generally run anything and every apk that will flash, not afraid to test things, nito and download the link.
My kids and most of family are all iOS fans and always stock so I'm the crazy droid spilunker.
Any suggestions or recommendation's about ROMs would be appreciated.
I'll figure theming as I go. I'm just a little bummed but know once I get the phone on Sunday night that I'll just find a new forum and thread to join.

For your question. That cannot really be answered by someone else. Look through the OG Dev and regular dev sections. To see all of the Roms available and flash any that catch your attention. Then from their choose which one you want to stick with.

See above, it is best you also break out questions so that when "best rom" answer create arguments, moderators do not have to shut down entire threads as "best rom" stuff is generally not allowed.

Thanks for everything guys! Off to a nexus

Hey everyone,
I haven't really been around a whole lot these past few months in this section of the forum for my Dinc, just kind of been poking around and been really happy with CM7 then CM9.
Just wanted to thank anyone who I had interacted with on this forum and any people that I've helped. It's been a great community here with the roms, mods, and the like for the Droid Incredible. It's time for me personally to move onto the Galaxy Nexus. Just got it today and threw JellyBean on there and it's absolutely fantastic after having "essentially" traded my I/O GSM version for the VZW version with a friend.
Droid incredible was an absolute solid choice for my first Android phone. Got it pre-ordered so long ago and has done me a fantastic job these past years. Hope others are still enjoying theirs. See you over on the Verizon Galaxy Nexus section!
I can haz your old Incredible then? J/K. Enjoy. I looked at the display dummy Nexus and S3 and really really really want one of those but I can't bring myself to pay that much for a contract free phone that I probably won't be able to get fully working on Page Plus Cellular since they are 4G phones.
Congrats
Personally, I'm right on the edge of upgrading. DInc has served us all so well for these last 2 yrs. But the GNex is a solid upgrade and with JB coming out we want the latest and greatest.
So do u have the GSM version? I've heard that Vzw is often slow to update OS. Is it worth the extra $? If u flash a custom ROM, that shouldn't be a factor.
Lastly, I'd love to hear ur initial impressions and what you like new vs old. Maybe try to help convince us old schoolers its time to upgrade.

Yeah I would also like to how you like it since I am going to switch to the gnex in a few weeks when my contract ends.

[Q] Wasn't there a whole lot more hype for the SIII?

Is everyone still in contract from the SIII or something? I remember the forums blowing up with discussion of when the SIII was going to be released, all the retailers carrying it and when they picked up their pre-orders, etc etc.... What's up, XDA, are we all asleep at the wheel here or is this phone just not going to be a success like the SIII was? I hate seeing a good device not being appreciated, but man, I'm hearing crickets chirping over here!
Hopefully when it releases, we'll have a ton of development just like there was with the SIII, but we're not even seeing root yet for the I337 - we had root a week before the I747 was released, and I rooted that sucker the day I got it home, launch day! I'm telling you, it's almost not worth having if we can't root it or there won't be anyone theming the S4.....
What is UP, XDA?

You may be right about the contract thing. If most people picked up the S3 in June (I believe), they wouldn't be eligible for upgrade yet. I'm feeling the same as you are about the hype but it will pick up once the phone is out and available. The other thing is that many consider this a Apple style "S" iteration of the phone. Software tweaks mostly so if you recently put down for the S3 and/or have the option of getting the S3 at a very low price, more people might lean that way. Specially if you consider how much development there is already on S3.

Yeah, my upgrade isn't available since I used it on the SIII, but I'm stealing one from another account I manage and the authorized user on, so you're right, but isn't it a good thing that Samsung is coming up with new tech sooner than later? I just hate that this is being looked at a negative thing, to update the phones faster than once a year....
God, isn't that the worst thing possible, for the S4 / SIII to be compared to the iThing 4S / 4? I don't see the S4 being just a slight upgrade to the SIII, I think there's a lot of redeeming features that made me want to upgrade.... I see your point and have heard the same thing about the S model update, but I'm happy that I'm moving up from the SIII, there's a lot left to be desired on the SIII
Oh well, #firstworldproblems, haha
I think my upgrade comes comparatively early, since I'm on an ancient, grandfathered, 18-month upgrade cycle per two-year contract... One of my other lines got an S3 at launch, but they are not eligible to upgrade to the S4 yet.
Meanwhile, I'll be happily burning my upgrade this June.
I agree, there doesn't seem to be as much hype this time around. But I know a lot of people jumped on the S3 and it could be a contract thing. That's what happened to me. But I had decided back then that when the time came (and that time is now) I'll be adding an additional line. That way I can get the S4 (for contract price) and then next year when my S3 is up, I can upgrade to the S5. It basically costs around $10/mo for the ability to trade up each year.

That's quite a bit of money to spend just to get a new phone every year, but I hate it when people tell me how to spend my money, so I'm not gonna do that to you - I just manage a bunch of accounts since no one knows a damn thing about phones, and switch out upgrades so I can always get a new phone when they're available, I have two upgrades to use right now if I wanted to, but I like saving one in case of an emergency.... you know, someone drops their phone and doesn't want to pay the full $600+ for a replacement!
I just saw this come through on Twitter:
Overwhelming Demand for the Galaxy S4 Causing Inventory Issues with Samsung
pretty interesting read, nothing special, but at least it isn't this disaster I'm over here thinking it is.... there were only TWO pre-orders at my local BBY! The girls there told me that a lot of people have come in asking about it, and when prompted to make a pre-order for only $50 that they can use later on something else if they don't end up going with the S4, they all declined - cheap bastards!! Here I go again shopping out of my own wallet.....
Ive said since day 1 i dont see alot of hype for the s4. I do think development might be better on the international models.
Less hype hopefully means more available on launch day. I just tried the htc one and didnt like it, didnt wow me at all. I was going to stick with my nexus 4 until the nexus 5 but then read google will soon anounce the new nexus 4 with different radios and no signs of a nexus 5 so I believe for now s4 will do.
Yep definitely not as much hype. I bought my S3 off contract, and now the S4 I am getting on contract. Just gonna walk into the store on the 27th and pick it up, seriously doubt they will be sold out, or even a line or anything close.
Hopefully its not like the Note 1 launch. I came in day 1 of release and they were like what is a Note? We haven't heard of it.

Hah, I hope not, but by now, if they don't know what the 4th iteration of the Galaxy line is, they probably shouldn't work in a mobile department.....
Good luck finding one on launch day, but if you do, post your results and let us know how many your store had in stock - I don't think stores are getting tons of them, but not many people pre-ordered, so you might be right!
Eh I actually changed my mind about going to the store. I'll just order it through the phone. I seem to be pretty busy this weekend and I am in no rush to get this one. Its prtty much same thing as my s3!

You have brought back multiple threads that were dead for at least 2 to 4 months. Regardless of your input, it is necroposting.
Your post that brought this back had no valid information. You have contributed nothing. Congratulations on outing yourself.

Well everyone here does say search instead of creating similar topics. Now the same people are contradicting themselves by saying not to post on an old topic. The irony

His post was completely unnecessary. It was not asking a question, it was not contributing any new found or valid information, it was completely pointless.
Yes, use the search function for finding information. Doesn't mean one needs to post on a old dead thread. When we say "don't necro" we mean don't bring back anything that is a couple months old. When we say don't make a new thread involving something that has been said, we mean don't post a new thread that is answered in any of the stickies or within the first few pages. The other day, there were 5 posts on the first page with people asking if they could put a custom recovery on MF3 and 5 more about people bricking by trying to put one on MF3. Do you understand?

[Q] Should i buy S4 or HTC One?

Which phone shoud i get?Tell me pros and cons of both devices. Is there any overheating issue on S4???
To each their own. I'd say do your own research (plenty of info out there on both devices) and decide which one more suits your needs.

I'd wait, new phones will be popping up pretty quick, unless you just want the deal on them. I left htc after the evo lte suckfest. They got my money for years, but the evo lte left a bad bad taste in my mouth. Should've been a class action lawsuit IMO.

x2 I went thru 4 of them until sprint gave me my S3...
For the op.. Go look at both, Samsung has touch wiz, HTC has sense.. They are different user systems (kinda) that some love/hate one or the other

I had a HTC ONE from May until last Tuesday. I can tell you there are things about it that are cool, like the front facing speakers, and uhhh that's about it. I can also tell you the S4 gets LTE MUCH better than the ONE and holds onto it longer and in more places (indoors, etc). That was a huge deal to me. I had no idea my ONE was not getting LTE very good until I saw it side by side with an iPhone 5S and a GS4. My eyes were opened to the shoddy radio inside that thing and I made it my goal to trade for a S4. Got a white one, and will never look back. No more HTC for me.
The S4 is ugly, boring, and unoriginal - but I chose it anyway. It has both replaceable battery and microSDXC slot. Those alone were enough to make the decision simple, at least for me. Coming from a Motorola Photon 4G, I also didn't mind the fact that it is an enormously popular phone -- it means that more stuff will work with it, and it'll be well-supported for the near future, at least.

I worry about HTC's future
I moved from HTC to the S4 when I upgraded from an EVO 3d. I and my wife had HTC phones for a long time. HTC has a nice interface and good style. BUT (and there is the rub) recently HTC's support of their phones has been lacking. For instance, my wife's EVO 4g LTE had an issue with google maps force closing during navigation. Happened after a software upgrade (I think to android 4.2 if I remember correctly). Took almost 9 months before she could use google maps for her navigation app. She would have replaced the phone if it were not so new that the cost would have been prohititive.
Support like this is costing HTC customers which leads to the death spiral.
I would get a note 3

Very similar to my story. I was a firm fan of HTC products, until we got my wife an S3. It blew the doors off my HTC Evo $G LTE for call signal and especially data signal. Time after time we'd be sitting together do the same thing, like check email, go to a website, etc. The HTC would lose EVERY time. And often times, it would never complete the data load, getting lost in cyber space somewhere. The S3, and now my S4, always gets the job done, even if I'm wandering in and out of coverage areas. It's persistent.
The camera is a big deal for me, too. I spend a lot of time outside and take a lot of pictures. The S4 is great for that, better than any HTC I've owned.
Throw in the expandable memory and replaceable battery, and it's an easy choice for me. My wife's S3 battery is finally running down faster than it should be during the day, after more than a year on the stocker. New Anker battery from Amazon will be here today, easy-peasy. HTC, too bad, so sad. Live with it.
+1 S4
Expandable storage
Removable battery
Kick ass camera
The One is indeed a sexy looking phone but that wasn't enough for me and I even have a locked down Verizon S4 lol
Verizon Galaxy S4
SafeStrap
Hyperdrive 12
Sprint Galaxy S4
Philz
Carbon 4.4
I have a SIM unlocked HTC One and I switched to the $70 unlimited everything plan. My LTE is just insane and the Viper ROM has every custom feature that say Pac Man does. ..well almost. ..but retains the Sense bare bones options if you choose them. I am in SoCal which is refarmed so I get 40-50MB download and 18-20 up. I actually have stayed on 4.3 because T Mobile introduced the wifi calling and messaging. I regularly get....well let me pull some screen shots. It's great.
Now I had the Samsung Epic 4G, still have the NS4G AND GNEX on Sprint and I did the Venum Ice ROM on the ET4G and a really blacked out Note 2 ROM but that device is gone (was AT&T)
SO, I am swapping nandroids between Sac's 5.4 and 5.6 with the black and chrome theme but I can't find a stock kernel zip ANYWHERE. I can't adb remount so I can't Odex my ROM'S when I am fully set up. I like the 1/31 KT kernel. I run it with the boot settings 384/1890 but I use his KTOONSERVATIVEQ governor and it sleeps like a baby. I am actually considering going back to stock 4.3 with the MF9 bootloader I was not supposed to touch because of Knox. I seriously want to take that deodexed stock and invert everything, debloat it and not load it with tons of random code and scripts. If anyone used my Venum Ice on the ET4G it was fast, reliable, and nobody ever reported so much as a reboot....that being said, I just got this phone and if I do it there will be an odexed and deodexed build but I can't do it alone. I literally can't get adb mounted I already downloaded the two stock deknoxed builds but I am trying to get on the good side of a kernel dev. I see a lot of possibilities still. I have the CM Focal and stock cam, stock music player, Noozy and some other goodies. If anyone has some them in skills (and likes black/inverted and the 30% more screen time) ....aw man maybe we can get the top TW devs to get together and really do something and have fun.
Anyone can PM me and I respond in 1-2 days max. Well for now I am going to flash today's Euroskank CM build because I am also testing Djdarkknight's KlearKat then BlakKat themes but I am happy to try and get this community helping each other and maybe work together. ..supposedly my Sprint network improvements will be done at month's end ...maybe I will get to see LTE on this phone finally. ..lol. tomorrow I will post side by side comparison pics but I am excited to be here and I like my black S4. End of my 2 am rant

[Q] buying a used galaxy s4. worth it

note mods and admin i am sorry if i am in the wrong area or there is a thread just like this.
to who ever cares. why i created this thread-i got my galaxy s4 last summer, on mf3 build, i wasnt in to flashing roms until i started having issues with it after the 30 day was up i think. well flashed a rom and all is well. well i wanna get back into flashing aosp and other roms. like i had on my gs3 (if yall care about the issues i had it kept on freezing on me and had to do a batt pull (i had a black screen and pwr button didnt do anything.) and att didnt wanna help samsung said 2 weeks for them to see it.)
guys i saw a used galaxy s4 at a game store for $400 and that got me thinking if its on mdl not sure if it was the guys there were to lazy to let me see it (i think mdl is the preferred one since i can run loki) i was going to get it today, (only if my s4 brought in a good amount like 200) but i knew better then to show them to see what i could get due to custom rom on my phone. would it be worth getting one like that (i prefer getting one in person, or taking a gamble and buy used one online, i know people can post what ever online. or they could update it to the latest version before they ship it.
or would it be worth waiting to see what happens with the bootloader. (just asking)
another option and off topic. i kicked around is a droid maxx (the one that they showed on tv) that batt life is what pulling me in, but the specs told me, my phone is better in every field.
guys i thank you for the help,
and there will be a poll if yall choose other please give a reason why. thank you
edit i am open to ideas but preferred is the gs4 on mdl
i looked on swappa and its seems like i could buy a gs4 once mine sells, and it wouldnt hurt my wallet that bad depending on what it sells for.
please dont vote for the droid maxx saw the device specs on swappa and it didnt have a headphone port which is needed since i use my phone for music.
and can somebody tell me if its worth being able to have custom kernels, like better batt life over stock kernel.. i cant find any good facts only kernels to download. i did find some roms i wanna try. if i ever buy another gs4

You can get close tot $300 or more for your S4, if it's in good condition. I just sold mine, which was on NB1. If I had of saw your post earlier, I could have sold it to you. The person I sold it to on eBay, is not familiar with custom ROMs so I just flashed it back to stock 4.2.2 MDL, so that they can get future updates automatically.
I this didn't answer your question, but at least it provides some guidance as to what you can sell your S4 for. I might would consider a new device. I decided to switch to HTC for a while, so went with the M8. I only say consider switching, as Dev support my decrease as the device continues to age. You could put the money towards a new device.

GT-i9506
@Galaxy*
If S4, i'd take the i9506.
It's got a Diffrence to the Normal i9505 or i9515.
The Difference: Snapdragon 800 instead of S600 - same Processing power as Note 3 - BIG ADVANTAGE:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2711239
And also, the S600 Sucks. 1.9GhZ isn't enough for 4k Recording but for [email protected] - so i wonder, why all S4's (including i9506 LTE-A) haven't got any 60 fps Recording - no [email protected], no 1080p60fps.
If you want more from i9506, take this http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2711239 Link.
Same processing Performance as Note 3 - but only 2 GB Ram - Note 3 has 3 GB.

Some Thoughts As The Note 3 Becomes Less Relevant

Hello, my name is Firefishe.
I've had my N900A Note 3 since early 2012. Since that time, I've been watching these forums, and the developer community in general, to see what might happen given time for this handset, in terms of customization.
These are key areas for me:
1. Unlocked Bootloader by now
2. Elimination of Knox Corporate Security software for non-corporate users, meaning, most of us.
3. Active ROM Development by the community for this handset. AOSP, here, not just TouchWiz.
Because this is an old handset by technological standards now, I would take the line that no one really gives a flying frack about the bootloader on this thing.
However, even if this is so, why can't I find any relevant information on this one subject: "N900A Bootloader Unlocking."
That subject, when searched, seems to do nothing but bring up ancient hits that have nothing of value, speculation, and other tripe.
I, for one, want to experiment. However, I can't afford the full price of a Nexus 5 or I would have purchased one long ago. I have to buy on contract, and AT&T has the best coverage in my area.
Also, I enjoy my S Pen. (Old Palm Pilot user here.)
So I'm stuck.
Or am I?
Part of the joy of electronics use is making the most if older-but-still-useful hardware. The Note 3 is still a quad core. It handles any game or program I want to use just fine, with no problems.
Is there no one who is working on this device, anymore?
Does any dev on this site have any insight that can be provided as to why this device's bootloader hasn't been unlocked, yet?
Anyway, I'd like to know if there is any private advancement being done on this subject, and would like a private email from anyone who cares to respond.

I'm planning on having this handset for some time yet, and long to see Paranoid Android running on it.
If anyone can assist me with this, it would be greatly appreciated.
Best Regards,

When I bought my Note 3 this June, I was coming from the Galaxy S3, which I had long ago rooted, unlocked, and was running Cyanogenmod on. Little did I know that unlocking the bootloader was not a common thing. And it seems to be becoming less common.
Imagine my surprise when I got home with my new Note 3 and went to the Cyanogenmod site to download and install. I learned a lot in the next few days about bootloaders, Knox, etc. I also learned that the phone I had just entered a two-year contract with was not what I wanted. At least not software wise.
Every day I do a search for Android Unlock Bootloader and check the news of the last 24 hours, hoping for some glitter of hope. I see newer phones, like the LG G3 and Nexus 6, offering bootlader unlocking. I see companies working hard to give their customers what they want - a phone that they can do anything with. And I see Samsung and AT&T doing the opposite - pushing more secure, unbreakable software and bloat out, usually months after their competitors have brought the latest Android OS to their flagship devices.
I did catch a glimpse of hope with Towelroot, and now my phone is rooted. Back in August I caught another glimpse of hope when Dan Rosenberg spoke at the Blackhat conference, saying that any Android bootlader could be unlocked thanks to a security exploit in Snapdragon processors. That hope was quickly diminished by Dan himself when he said not on the Note 3, and Qualcomm said they already patched the exploit.
And just last month I learned of Safestrap and the many ROMs offered as an alternative. I am now running my Bloat 3 on @bri315317 's fantastic Dynamic Rom Xtreme. This is about as close to an unlocked AOSP experience as you can get on the Note 3.
But still every day I search news for any sign of an unlocked bootlader for my phone. Older phones are being exploited. Newer phone as well, usually by the phone makers themselves. But still AT&T and Samsung refuse to give their customers what they want. Complete use of a product that we bought.
So this will be my last Samsung phone. Had I been a bit more patient I would have bought a Nexus 6. For now I have a year and a half to go with my Samsung and AT&T locked device. At least there is a viable alternative with Safestrap and ROM makers like Brian et al.
I sold mine yesterday for "pennies". AT&T Note 3 is the working "brick" phone w/o unlock bootloader. It's a very nice but completely useless for XDA folks. Back to my T-M Galaxy s2 for now. Just wondering what to buy next.

Lol gave up note 3 for s2. I wouldn't do that I'm thinking about getting an Optimus G, even to this day excellent development, but I probably wouldn't sell the note 3 yet tho. I would Odin it back to stock and use the Optimus G for aosp and stuff
We have roms. And KitKat. I'm fine with my note 3 and my note 4 Rom. If u don't know by now, there's a thread in Q&A about flashing other carrier roms. I actually don't mind using Safe strap, it's safer and works fine for my flashing habit. I love my Note 3, and I feel its still one of the best around!
The note 3 came out September of 2013....

@Firefishe, are you running the stock ROM or have you flashed one of the custom ROMs?
Loved this phone, but with the random reboots, ****ty customer service, locked bootloader and bloat I'll never buy another Samsung or AT&T device again. Count on that.
This is completely speculation but I think this is going to happen down the road. There will come a time where companies will start to lock ALL their bootloaders. Some XDA users will exploit a few workarounds and when they do, those companies will try and "buy them off". If it happens it will take away the "rebels" and add to their "army" and after a while some of the greats on XDA will be working against XDA because of all the money the corporate companies will offer them. Don't get me wrong, there will be some absolute rebels that won't "defect" but at the end of the day it's all about money and trust me if a company is offering you 75 to 100k+ to "defect"and make their security software stronger. It's hard to turn down money of that nature. Just saying though

They aren't rebels and we aren't the rebellion.
Of course the higher end devs here will tend to end up in programming jobs that directly relate. Hashcode and geohotz are two amazing examples of that.
And now that it is becoming harder and harder to hack some of these devices a few devs can only justify that time with a paycheck. After all if it took 4 guys 4 hours a night for 4 months at what their pay rate of say $40 an hour you're looking at a $76,800 project.
In the end you are right, we will wind up being mostly safestrap and root for the locked devices and full Roms for the specialty devices.

Exactly.......... whatever he bought in January 2012 must have been a Note since the even the Note 2 was not out before September/October 2012 (I think). I love the Note 3 and with Safestrap and Odin, we can choose between several Kitkat NC2 (4.4.2) roms and use NJ5 (4.4.4) roms including those running Note 4 apps. I was tempted to get the Note 4 but after hearing about the advance specs of the Note 5 (like over 700 ppi display and 4 gigs of ram among other enticing specs). I think I can wait until next September.!
There are always will be competition between amateurs and pros. This forum is the one of the prove. Besides that there is a plenty ambitions ppl who do this just because they like and can. Another thing the companies always are looking for a new recruits to replace a current staff (just cheaper for the business). And don't forget about a competition between big (and small) brands. They will do everything to survive.
Just mine 2c.

I really like a NOTE 3 just not AT&T brand. And it was kinda useless for me and I barely used it.
I wanted to buy NOTE 4 from T-MOBILE but they didn't want to sell it to me because I'm on prepaid.
I think that as long as there is a community of people looking to fully own their device there will be someone willing to give them what they want.
Some companies could create a brand around a community of smartphone users that really want to own their device and modify it as they wish.
I think the Nexus line is one such example.
If there is demand for something someone, somewhere will provide it.
Are there any business type people here? Anyone that would know or want to start a start up that offers complete freedom to own their device? Sometimes you have to be the change you want to see.
Already been done. It is called one plus one.

Why do you folks sound so desperate? I'm gonna play you some of my sad banjo music. Lmao [emoji23]
There will ALWAYS be root and ROMs. Making it sound like a battle. Rebels and armies and all that. There is always nexus devices and t-mobile and international phones and other options. Cyanogenmod is coming along the way now and more companies are going to throw it on their devices. Start with oneplus one and we will see more. Just chill out and enjoy safestrap and whatever rom you got running at the moment. You got a device that is not really that far from the note 4, only a few little differences that are not that big of a deal. I mean, I know people that are still running S2 and even older devices just fine. I love my note 3 and won't change it for a while. I AM able to buy the note 4 or any other "flagship" out there, but I really see no point in that. 1080p display with quad core processor and you name it.

Running stock. Rooted. Updated to Safestrap Recovery 3.75 recently. Played around with Dynamic Kat Extreme, but am now back on stock.

If you're paying full price and the local dealer won't sell it to you, try another store or buy it off Amazon.
Local dealers, in my experience, aren't always the brightest of beings.

I guess if I wanted to be status quo, I would not have started a thread like this.
