Unlocked, but cant send SMS on AOSP! - Sprint Samsung Galaxy S 4 Q&A, Help & Troubleshoot

Using Stock the unlock works fine. I can send/receive calls, SMS and 3G on a UK Vodafone sim
If I install slimbean 4.3 build 2 everything works fine apart from I can make and receive calls and also receive SMS messages, but still cannot SEND SMS
in slimbean settings
In network settings i switched to GSM/WCDMA auto and have signal and 3g.
Under network operators I selected Vodafone
The Vodaphone APNs is installed (via HiAPN Global)
System select is on home/international
if I click Manage mobile plan I get a message saying "Sprint has no know provisioning website"
I'm still getting the message
"message not sent" we trying to send a sms
I've also tried sms pro with no luck
I also tried CyanogenMod but get the same problem
I am on the latest MF9 Baseband
SAVE ME FROM STOCK!
So weird that stock can do it and slimbean cant
I'm stuck and need help

[Q] unlocked/Europe: cannot send/receive MMS

Hi,
I bought a Droid Pro in the US, unlocked it and I am now using it in Switzerland with my local Swisscom GSM SIM.
I can't send nor receive MMS.
I have setup APNs correctly for internet (works) and for mms. When I look at the message details on the MMS I try to send, I see "Cause code: National access coverage not available". I have tried with Handcent and ChompSMS, but still doesn't work as I guess they rely on native messaging app to send MMS. Unfortunately CompSMS doesn't support sending MMS through their network.
Any ideas on this could be fixed? Any workaround?
Thanks
Happy Holidays
Fred
Make sure you entered the settings exactly and try again. If you are using a GSM or HSPA network you should disable global mode and put the phone into GSM/UMTS mode only.
@Class: thank you for your response. I confirm the Network Mode is set to GSM/UMTS and that the APN parameters are correct for Swisscom.
What is interesting is that in settings->About Phone->Status->My phone number I see the US phone number that I got when the phone was activated with a Verizon prepaid plan.
Anybody is able to send/receive MMS on GSM, with or without prior US activation on Verizon?
Thanks

I also bought from the US and activated, and unlocked in Kuwait on a Kuwaiti SIM card. I confirm not having any data connection whatsoever! I've defined the APN settings correctly (works on a Samsung Spica & A Motorola Defy) with no luck.
Could you please check for me (*#*#4636#*#* --> Phone Info --> Menu --> Select radio band) what are the radio bands available for you to choose from?
I'm also on Swisscom and my MMS doesn't work either.
Did you set up two APN's, one for GPRS and one for MMS?
What happens if you send a MMS to yourself? I just get the SMS from Swisscom, that i received a MMS and i should look it up in the internet.
@rafeee2: I also see "USA Band", but if I click on it I loose connectivity to Swisscom and have to do factory reset to re-connect...
@ThiloH: I can't even send MMS. I get "National access coverage not available", both before and after factory reset. I tried factory reset as I thought the MMS problem could be related to the fact that my phone was initially activated on Verizon.
I heard on another forum that flashing with the newly released SBF solved the issue to one guy. If I flash, will I need to re-activate via Verizon?
My understanding is that you don't need to re-activate unless you want to use the phone in the US with Verizon/CDMA. I can still use my unlocked phone on GSM with my Swisscom SIM after a factory reset. I guess that flashing with the new SBF will have the same effect.

i can confirm that, i flashed yesterday with the SBF-File and the Verizon-Activation showed up, but i could skip it and it worked after it.
OK so I SBFd yesterday. Is it normal to have all you contacts, apps & widgets intact afterwards? The only thing that changed was that the network mode changes from GSM/UMTS to Global, and still no data.
As far as i know, the data you have on the SD-Card doesn't get removed when flashing.

You've already SBFed, what did you find after the phone restarted? What I'm saying is that EVERYTHING was intact, as if nothing has happened at ALL.
I did a factory reset before SBF, but after it it was like fresh out of the box.
Hmmm.. So we're still stuck here then. I think that unless the "select radio" menu shows other bands, we won't get data.
mmmmh. I also have only "USA Band" listed in there but when I click it stops working here in Europe and I need to factory reset. So I guess the hardware capabilities of the phone are different from what you can select in this test application.
What do you see in the "GSM disconnects" section of *#*#4636#*#* --> Phone Info ?

It's always DcActivatingState this or DcActivatingState that, and after some time it turns into:
DcInactiveState disconnected with last try at XX:XX fail because Unknown Data Error
What's an unknown data error supposed to be!
I just got my Droid Pro and can receive MMSes here in Australia, but can't send. I get either the National access coverage not available or service not activated messages.
It happens on both Telstra and Virgin. I can receive MMSes on both networks, just can't send.
I tried sending a short text message as an MMS and that won't go through either, so it isn't a size problem. Flight mode on/off doesn't help, and the phone is already in UMTS mode only with wifi off.
Has anyone found a solution?

[Q] G900R6 won't connect to Cricket network

I have a G900R6 that came from Cellcom. They claim their phones to not be locked at all. I finished the contract with them, paid it in full and installed the new Cricket SIM while at the Cellcom store. It connected to the mobile network, properly made a phone call, and received text messages from Cricket. Less than 5 minutes later the device received a system message from Cricket to install the APN data, text, and mms data. I installed all 3. It still shows connected to AT&T network and can receive texts from the cricket system. I does not connect to the mobile network, cannot send a text, and when trying to make a call it instantly says "No SIM or SIM error". It worked fine prior to receiving the APN information from Cricket. That may only be coincidence but I don't believe the data looked correct. There is however no area to change the APN data under mobile networks. The whole section is missing. Is there another way to view or edit this information to see what is currently stored? This must be saved in a file somewhere.

(T-Mobile) MMS and LTE do not work at the same time

Hello,
I just got a T-Mobile Galaxy S5. I have rooted and have done clean installs on CM13 and also tried Bliss.
If LTE is on, I do not receive text messages. I can only receive text messages when the network is in H+ or 3G.
I am using default APN settings and have not messed with it. What could be the issue? Thank you in advance for any help!
