Not sure I know which wall you are referring. Don't remember there being any special wallpaper after flashing a rom. Usually shows whatever the dev has cooked in. What is the picture of?

You can just change the wallpaper in settings display or just touch and hold on screen and change wallpaper there.

If im correct and i remembered it should be in*/system/framework/framework-res.apk
--> then in*\res\drawable-xxhdpi-v4
The file is called*default_wallpaper.jpg
Or something like that.

Ha sorry I just skimmed thru your post. I think you also have to do something with launcher.apk to make it work.

I've never had any luck using 7zip to modify apks correctly. Try using Winrar or APK tools. Make the pic resolution same as stock (I think it is 1920x1920). Also, the images are png not jpg.

i did some searching for you and found this. such code language is greek to me as im not too good with coding jargon. hope it helps you:
Q- I want to be able to change the background color to white in my android app in the simplest way possible
A- You need to use the android:background property , eg
android:background="@color/white"
Also you need to you need to add a value for white in the strings.xml
<color name="white">#FFFFFF</color>
A2- You can also use
android:background="#ffffff"
in your xml layout, or you can change the theme in your AndroidManifest.xml by adding
android:theme="@android:style/Theme.Light"
to your activity tag.
If you want to change the background dynamically, use
YourView.setBackgroundColor(Color.argb(255, 255, 255, 255))
hope this helps

oh..there isn't any good news now at this moment.
on the one hand, I can't decompile the "conversation.apk" individually,
(the error just like : "Could not decode attr value, using undecoded value instead")
on the other hand, the "framework-res.apk"&"blur-res.apk" can be decompiled correctly, but I edit some xml about colors, and my device can't boot with the replacement.
I have to recovery it now..and waiting for help!!

EDIT: after looking around a bit, most people on other forums recommend for you just to use handcent. apparently its the simplest fix without you having to tweak around much a lot. they just recommend for you to disable the stock message notification so that you wont get 2 notifications on your notification bar. perhaps you'd wanna give it another go? besides, apparently handcent supports upto 5mb of storage as opposed to the standard 2mb on the stock messaging app

I got why I can't decompile Conversations.apk..
This man said in his thread:
"
I am trying to decompile Conversations.APK from /system/app with APKTool
I am using framework-res.apk, blur-res.apk and moto-res.apk as the framework.
It was successfuly decompiled.
"
I knew this before, but I don't know how to use them as the framework..
maybe I gonna ask him for details...to decompile my conversations

LATEST:
I decompilied conversation.apk successfully,
the code in "\res\values\drawables.xml" is:
Code:
<item type="drawable" name="white_background">#ffffffff</item>
I changed #ffffffff to #00000000 and saved it .
But it doesn't work...nothing happened with my TextMessaging!
I think I should have a try on framework-res.apk or blur-res.apk.

[HELP] Cooking a theme

Hi
I cooked my first theme today with UOT Kitchen.
The theme installs but:
- boot animation doesn't change (although selected other from UOT)
- statusbar buttons don't change (although selected others from UOT)
- carrier name remains black (although selected it to be white)
The rest appears like I wanted, no errors.
What am I doing wrong?
i dont know anything of UOT, it can change lockscreen ??
in your cooked zip, if there's a bootanimation.zip, just push it into /data/local. That'll solve the bootanimaton problem.

[Q] galaxy y screen resolution issue

i downloaded lcd density modder..
after opening it... i just applied the density without noticing it (supposed to be the system density 160 dpi and i didnt chose any other density)
after the phone rebooted.. on my lock screen.. the keyboard became too big to fit on the screen and i was unable to unlock the screen because the *next* button went out of screen
i booted phone in recovery and formatted it
but when the phone rebooted... the icons were too big to fit in the screen..
only 2 rows of icons appeared on the screen...
lcd density modder was not apllying any density permanently..
i had to edit the build.prop file
i set the system density to 120 to make icons fit on the screen like before..
but some apps like go sms pro are not working... is there anyway to return the phone to original state??
setting lcd density to 160 makes icons too big to fit on the screen again
Same case and i just flash with odin. But maybe u can use backup recovery or in advance level use adb tool in windows to remove that application.
-Just Farmer and Newbie Android-
do you have a backup for build.prop?
for sgy go sms doesnt work for anything other than 120..

120,
if you get any market incompatibility issues, clear data for market from app manager.
bro download root explorer and open build.prop in text editor located at system/
and look for lcd density or like something and change the value from 160 to 120 that company default
and just restart phone
and just for remember if you format your phone or reset it just delet your applications and accounts and restore settings
hope its simple for you
if I help u press thanks button

i have installed adb drivers but no response please do yhe needfull
Try uot kitchen, very easy.
Here the site -> http://uot.dakra.lt/
Click kitchen and mod everything you want. Go to the tab that you can upload your systemui.apk and framework-res.apk. Go to summary and submit your work. Click pickup and wait you file appears. Install through recovery. Done.
ADB means Android Debug Bridge. If you're using apk multi-tool or apk manager, it asks for adb. It's very confusing and you may have to set the PATH variable, maybe download the SDK and all that. Use Apktool. I use it all the time for decompiling apks and it's the best for me. You can find the links to download it and the guide here.

Like stretched or something?

Make sure the icons are of the same size and same name....if it's jpg or other format, convert it to png....

U have to replace icons, with original..and the resolution and format should be same..
Example: If the original icon resolution is 48x48 then u should change ur image resolution to 48x48 or near like 52x52 not 200x200 and if the original icon is like Wifi_on.PNG then u have to rename your icon in wifi_on.PNG and then just replace... clear???
