[HELP] Cooking a theme - Optimus One, P500, V Themes and Apps

Hi
I cooked my first theme today with UOT Kitchen.
The theme installs but:
- boot animation doesn't change (although selected other from UOT)
- statusbar buttons don't change (although selected others from UOT)
- carrier name remains black (although selected it to be white)
The rest appears like I wanted, no errors.
What am I doing wrong?

i dont know anything of UOT, it can change lockscreen ??

in your cooked zip, if there's a bootanimation.zip, just push it into /data/local. That'll solve the bootanimaton problem.

I believe right now the only "easy way" is through xUltimate for windows. What mods do u want for services.jar?
Sent from my DROIDX using XDA App
Yeah I think you gotta have a windows pc. They're better anyway
lol the only thing I want is to change the color of the date and time to black!!! is that too much to ask for?!?! gah.
does somebody wanna do it for me? I'll send you the services.jar and all you need to do is change it so the date and clock colors are black.

And one more question... What do I have to edit to change the popup menu that you get when you press the far left button text from white to black?
Services.jar
Here ya go! Let me know if this is right.
Just rename the file services.jar instead of .zip

[Q][howto] how to integrate the vanilla lockscreen

Changing this thread to HOWTO
Instructions:
1. Phone must be rooted
2. Deodexed ROM is a must
3. Download the edited android.policy.jar from http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1112991 (it would be the latest update on the the thread. Check the first page.)
4. Paste the file using root explorer in system/framework.
5. Restart your phone.
*** If you would want to revert back to the old glass screen, make a backup of the android.policy.jar.
Sorry i pressed the wrong button. Can somebody write up a guide on how to integrate the vanilla lockscreen to any theme? This will greatly be appreciated.
Sent from my GT-I9003 using XDA App
Dude there is a guide by skin search the i9003 development section
When i checked the thread and downloaded the file, it was a full deodexed rom. Are there any files that i can just push?

So if i just replace the android.policy.jar , the lockscreen will change even if i dont follow the steps from the deodexing thread?
You need to deodex your framework, otherwise you can take risk by replacing the apk and deleting the corresponding odex file and reboot and hope that it will boot. Then report here, it will help others also. Just kidding, I have not tested this on non-deodexed framework. But this is the way to do it and theoretically it should work.

For deodexed jus replace d android.policy file, right?

moding status bar

please how to mod a status bar in esiest way
while i have tried using app manager he is asking for adb what is adb
i have installed adb drivers but no response please do yhe needfull
Try uot kitchen, very easy.
Here the site -> http://uot.dakra.lt/
Click kitchen and mod everything you want. Go to the tab that you can upload your systemui.apk and framework-res.apk. Go to summary and submit your work. Click pickup and wait you file appears. Install through recovery. Done.
ADB means Android Debug Bridge. If you're using apk multi-tool or apk manager, it asks for adb. It's very confusing and you may have to set the PATH variable, maybe download the SDK and all that. Use Apktool. I use it all the time for decompiling apks and it's the best for me. You can find the links to download it and the guide here.

U have to replace icons, with original..and the resolution and format should be same..
Example: If the original icon resolution is 48x48 then u should change ur image resolution to 48x48 or near like 52x52 not 200x200 and if the original icon is like Wifi_on.PNG then u have to rename your icon in wifi_on.PNG and then just replace... clear???

Incase I want to revert back to default later, do i just make a back-up of the files to be replaced and put it back using same procedure?
Would going to recovery mode and do factory reset restore the replaced files?

Awesome work guys. Could you also add transparent notification bar.
Also, would it be possible to change settings menu colors from "white text on black background" to "black text on white background" (like MIUI)

I've never had any luck using 7zip to modify apks correctly. Try using Winrar or APK tools. Make the pic resolution same as stock (I think it is 1920x1920). Also, the images are png not jpg.
