Sketchbook pro Note 10.1 2014 - Galaxy Note 10.1 (2014 Edition) General

I was browsing a video on you tube about the new note 10.1 2014 and it looks like autodesk has updated sketchbook pro for the note. anyone else have any insight on this update and what it brings ?

That must be the new beta because it definitely hasn't been released yet.

I could be wrong......... but I don't think it is the Pro version but maybe a special edition of Sketchbook for Galaxy, the startup screen for the app says "Sketchbook for Galaxy".
I actual own the pro version of Sketchbook that I purchased from the Samsung store and it actually display "Autodesk Sketchbook Pro for Galaxy Note" when the app starts up.
It does look like the Sketchbook app is replacing Photoshop so it very well could be the Pro version but don't you think that Samsung would be putting the Pro name on the start up screen if it in fact was the Pro version of Sketchbook that they are including in the packge.
We will all know soon enough as it's release is getting closer.

I have the note version of sketchbook and it looks nothing like this that's why I ask
Sent from my SGH-I317M using xda app-developers app

I'm pretty sure this is a beta version. The way it looks is the new UI direction of the app. It takes its cues from the desktop version. I read that they are trying to make the look and feel more cohesive across platforms.

they've pulled this app from the note 3 already. it's just a samsung OEM version. the menus are consolidated and pen mode is enabled by default. underneath it seems to be the same old pro version reskinned. i've got both on my note 8 right now.
it's posted here:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2444504
just be aware that this should be considered warez unless you're running this on a samsung device licensed to run it. it hasn't been flagged, but i wouldn't be surprised if it is.

The Note 10.1 2014 version does have Pro on the start screen and it is called Sketchbook for Galaxy version 2.8.0 - installed application size is 14.39mb
The Paid Pro version from the Samsung store is called Autodesk Sketchbook version 2.6.1 - installed application size is 16.38mb
Very Interesting.............
.

SketchBook Pro on Google Play
Did anyone notice that Google Play updated SketchBook Pro yesterday to version 2.8.1. Looks like Version 2.8.0 on Note 10.1 2014.
Hey guess what........ Samsung has not updated the version on there site yet ...... Big surprise there ......... Wonder how long it will take them to update the paid version for the G-Note 2013 on there site that I purchased????

Flash 10.2 update is out!!!

Hello Xoomers! I just noticed an update for Adobe Flash player 10.2! The marketplace states that the update takes advantage of multi-core processors and includes other performance improvements. Checking it out now.
I think it's been out for weeks now

No... that was the beta.
This is 10.2 and flash sites that used to lag before are very smooth now.
you should be able to run anything in flash now i.e. facebook games and other things like that

I did a clean install after flashing my Xoom last night. I installed Flash 10.2.157.10 then and just now I got a notice that Flash 10.2.157.51 is out.
So its a new update...
a lot of mention of "Android 3" in the update description. I guess they mean Honeycomb 3.0

Hopefully this will change soon. Im located in the UK.
The update does show up on my Galaxy Tab running 2.2
Update:
the newer version is now available for the XOOM. but flash in Opera mobile browser don't work any more.

Android 3 = Honeycomb 3.0. What's wrong with calling it Android 3? We call all other phones with Android 2.2 or Android 2.3 etc.. We're on 3 right now lol.
I'm only seeing the beta app for honeycomb. Not anything new.
Sent from my Xoom using XDA App
Definitely a difference. Amazon Prime videos weren't working before and are working now. Some Flash games had updated recently and broken and are working now and with better performance.
Great, I can download 10.2.157 on my thunderbolt, but it doesn't show up on my xoom
well the best features from this update
wont be available until google updates honeycomb apparently.
people whose update isn't showing up..
restart your xoom, then immediately go to the market
then hit my apps and your update should show up in the left
i got the update today,it says the hardware accelerated flash was for 3.1 only, but it runs flash way smoother now then before, also flash doesnt drain the battery as much as it did before
Sweet! Thanks for the heads up OP!
this updated a big improvment if you let your gf play fb games on the xoom
all the popular fb games work perfectly now

Yep. Hate to get all pedantic but it's either Android 3/3.0 OR Honeycomb. The number is a version of Android OS, Honeycomb is just the codename for it.

What can we learn from the image?
-HW button for camera
-No HW button but ICS software buttons (like GalaxyNexus)
-Better SAmoled screen higher PPI, i dont think the screen is bigger.
-Edge to Edge screen
-Learning..
Looks pretty good huh?
Tell us what you think of the image and give us your opinion!
If it is, I don't want it! No hardware/dedicated buttons=No deal for me! Most likely this isn't the Note; I'd find it hard-pressed that they'd have a new version built a few scant months after the first Note was released. That would kill Note sales!
it is fake, there are any official information about note 2. but i like this design very much

If the screen size and resolution remains the same then you dont get a higher PPI.

EarlZ maybe was meant like the PenTile vs Samoled Plus. Same res but not the same res. And you know what I mean
From what I understand PPI does not care for subpixel its basically display resolution and display size.. it does not factor in the subpixel count.
Could be the Galaxy S3?
Apparently a snapshot of it was leaked in a promo video at CES this year.
If screen is edge to edge, that wouldn't be good imho. There needs to be a bezel. Otherwise you would have too many accidental presses just by holding the phone.
This is only concept render from conceptphones

A design with such a thin bezel doesn't look too realistic.
Yeah I remember seeing that picture and others on sites but I'm pretty sure it was concept fan art for the Galaxy SIII.
Just compare the sharpness of the camera/earpiece grill vs the sharpness of the image. Obviously it is a render.
Sent from my Transformer Prime TF201 using xda premium
It's sure a fake. Why should they invent a mobile phone without and buttons at the bottom. It's ugly without. Just my opinion
Note 2 most certainly won't have hardware buttons.
I'd rather have them too.
Will mimic the Nexus.
Google has already directed developers to begin developing with that in mind.
This concept is the Samsung Galaxy S3, not the second note (N8000)
Btw N8000 got the wifi certificate some time ago I am looking forward to see the younger brother of my phone.
It's a concept none of us will ever see in real life, but many will dream about.

I want a 7.7 Note!

So I bought this new Camcorder and yesterday I have downloaded the 186 page manual before the thing arrives tomorrow. Been reading on 8.9 tab and on the 7.7 since.
The 8.9 works best for me at nightime when all lights are off. With lights on, the size/form factor of the 7.7 is better. The 7.7 screen even on minimal is TOO bright! However, this morning, I can't put the 7.7 down.
All I need now is a PDF annotator app. I have been using Documents to Go and PDF to go, but I want to set bookmarks and hightlight, circle stuff.
BTW, the only tablet for me that would better the 7.7 would be a 7.7 Note, with the pressure sensitive, hard small tipped pen. The flufly, blob pen we're forced to use doen't cut it.

my thoughts exactly... the 7.7 size is perfect....not too big, not too small... just needs an s-pen!
Agreed. I would go out and buy a 7.7 tomorrow but I am holding off because if there is a chance of a Note variant being released it would be my perfect tablet in terms of portability and features. It is more of a want than a need at present which is why I am holding off until Samsung chose to have their big press reveal in a few months for the GS3 in the hope that they slip a 7.7 Note in as well.
Yea a stylus is the only thing missing with the 7.7, hope we get ics soon and a capable stylus

That doesn't mention anything about a Galaxy Note 7.7. Why should we have to check that? Why couldn't you just read it, determine on your own that it doesn't have anything to do with a possible Galaxy Note 7.7 and then not post a link to it?

The voice of reason, well done good sir.
I do hope this mystery Galaxy announcement for August 15th is going to be a Note 7.7. I'd pretty much drop some serious cash for something that great. Apple wouldn't have anything that could match it. Hopefully Samsung's powers it with the Exynos Quad rather than the older 4210. That should pretty much ensure the iPad mini would not be able to compete very well.
Yes dude, that's what we all want. I wonder if Samsung is waiting for the A15 soc to be ready. Or are they simply waiting for apple to launch their ipad mini and then present a better rival? I am surprised there are no rumors about such a great tablet, yet. Let's hope its due for this year yet.

Galaxy Note 7-inch just get the Wi-Fi certification? http://www.note2forum.com/forum/showthread.php?p=388
The trend for tablet screens is towards 1080p for viewing full HD media and I would not buy a tablet without a full HD screen even if it has an S-Pen.
The only Android tablets which have a full HD screen at the moment are the ASUS Transformer Infinity TF700KL with 4G/LTE and the Acer Iconica A700. with WIFI only and I would be tempted to get the TF700KL when it is available in the UK if Samsung hasn't produced an full HD tablet by then.
There is a rumour samsung and google are making a new high end tablet, but I doubt it would have this code.

Nice find. Thanks for posting. It has Learning Hub so that's finally being released (at least in Germany). There's still no Reader's Hub or Social Hub. It also said "pen removed" in the quick settings so its got at least one of the Note 2's features ported over. If Google Now only works in portrait mode that will suck. It was fast and fluid but it had no apps or widgets running; the real test to see if there's a difference is when we all load it up with the crap we use everyday.
Yes I am pretty much expecting us to get JB and the full Note 2.0 treatment. Reason being that Samsung will want 10.1 owners to also own the Note 2 as our phone so the devices need to be highly compatible.
Also they probably don't want to deal with 10.1 owners *****ing them out 24/7.

This is what made me question it...
I also think it'll add more value on a 3G Note than a Wi-Fi because it'll be online all the time and Google Now can collect more behavioral info. I haven't used it yet so still don't fully understand what it does, how it does it, or why I need it.~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~

It should be able to install. There is a tablet version and that would not show up in the Note as option. Have you tried to install Sketchbook Express (free)? That should work as well as the pro. I previously installed them on the first Galaxy Note.

This is really amazing man! I haven't seen anything like this for the note 2 yet I look forward to your future posting in this thread of your art you made on the note 2.
Tried it (to change the LCD density) but I couldn't install it from google play, the app doesn't show even if i search for it. On the other hand, I really liked the screen with the new density! Too bad I had to change the launcher (feels off, just like the camera) and the alarm app (the native one gave me a force close). But what really annoys me is the size of the s pen pointer (while hovering above the screen). Is there any way to increase the radius of the spen pointer?
Crazy good! I could never do that... very impressed!
