These are the first 3 serious fine digital paintings I did with my Note II using Autodesk Sketchbook Pro and the S Pen. This is taking advantage of the S Pen's Wacom digitizer system with 1024 levels of pressure sensitivity. It just means you can control lines or brush thicknesses on the fly.
Does anyone else do this with their device?

Accumulated 6 to 12 hours each. I usually do it during spare time. It's good that the Note is compact enough to pocket.

Hey, mate. First of all, congratulations for your drawings, amazing quality! But I need to ask you, what did you do to install Sketchbook Pro on your Note II? When I try to do so on Google play, it says that its only available for tablets.

It should be able to install. There is a tablet version and that would not show up in the Note as option. Have you tried to install Sketchbook Express (free)? That should work as well as the pro. I previously installed them on the first Galaxy Note.
Thanks, but I'm still warming up. I have chosen my bench mark artists to top. Here's one:

They keep me humble. They remind me that I have not yet achieved anything when it comes to digital painting. I need to do more.

Try changing your phone's DPI to 240. It might show up on Google play even the tablet mode.

Can you do that if you are not rooted and if so how?

This is really amazing man! I haven't seen anything like this for the note 2 yet I look forward to your future posting in this thread of your art you made on the note 2.

Tried it (to change the LCD density) but I couldn't install it from google play, the app doesn't show even if i search for it. On the other hand, I really liked the screen with the new density! Too bad I had to change the launcher (feels off, just like the camera) and the alarm app (the native one gave me a force close). But what really annoys me is the size of the s pen pointer (while hovering above the screen). Is there any way to increase the radius of the spen pointer?

Crazy good! I could never do that... very impressed!

Nice Job
Nice Job...
Could you tell me if there is a tutorial online to learn how to do this draws?
This is one thing that I'll like to do.

Good Capacitive Stylus on Sale! Hurry! Not Spam

This stylus is well rated on Amazon. Just ordered one, should do great on our tabs. Tried one by Griffin today and even with the thick screen protector it worked awesomely.
This is a daily sale site, so it will end soon.

Sorry that you don't reside in the us. Didnt see other threads doing this. Lets also hold the use of all caps for subjects that really matter. Thanks.

From what I read on amazon this one is heavily counterfeited and those suck. If its not from targus it probably sucks. I'll have to see if this one is real though lol

I'm wasn't a fan of the rubber tips, but I have made a few foam ones and recently tried a rubber one and it really works the best. I hope we don't get a crappy counterfeit one lol

I take notes at meetings and at school. So I'm gonna give this a try. We really lack a good note taking app though. Tab notes is the best so far and its not that great compared to one note.
I'd really love to use a stylus for sketching - could care less for note taking. But sketching would be great - only problem is, the tab isn't all that responsive - I mean, don't get me wrong - it's great. It's just wasn't built with that kind of functionality in mind... Which is unfortunate.
Still though, I'll get one eventually.
You know, I thought the same thing. I would draw something and the line would follow after. Using tabnotes it doesn't do that. I was looking for a mod to increase screen polling or responsiveness but nothing.
I ordered one, still no shipping info and no response to my email, oh well glad I paid with PayPal, if I don't hear anything in a few days, I will file a complaint with PayPal.

Mine shipped a day or two ago. These daily deal sites are slow.
The the BEST I've used.
DAGi P504. Don't have a link just Google. Transparent tip is mounted on a spring so no matter what angle your holding it, it will make contact. Very precise. I like it a lot better than the old style which you hat to hold at only one angle & much better than the eraser type.
Pointed tip Stylus?
Does anyone know of a stylus with a pointed rubber tip like the HTC Flyer one only usable on the A500? I would like one for some of the drawing programs and just can't get used to the rounded oversize points on most generic stylus.
Thanks
That's a nice stylus. I wonder if it does.
http://www.ipaddoodler.com/article/big-ipad-stylus-review
I know that says iPad but it's a great quick run down of a few stylus (styli?). I am really considering the Ostylus or the Dagi one, but they have a new model the 506 with a slightly different design.

Nice find. Thanks for posting. It has Learning Hub so that's finally being released (at least in Germany). There's still no Reader's Hub or Social Hub. It also said "pen removed" in the quick settings so its got at least one of the Note 2's features ported over. If Google Now only works in portrait mode that will suck. It was fast and fluid but it had no apps or widgets running; the real test to see if there's a difference is when we all load it up with the crap we use everyday.
Yes I am pretty much expecting us to get JB and the full Note 2.0 treatment. Reason being that Samsung will want 10.1 owners to also own the Note 2 as our phone so the devices need to be highly compatible.
Also they probably don't want to deal with 10.1 owners *****ing them out 24/7.

This is what made me question it...
I also think it'll add more value on a 3G Note than a Wi-Fi because it'll be online all the time and Google Now can collect more behavioral info. I haven't used it yet so still don't fully understand what it does, how it does it, or why I need it.~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~

The Note 10.1 is an absolutely awesome device.
Once I fix Netflix on it, i'm probably going to start working on forward-porting masiullah's stylus gesture patches to CM10. Now that there are multiple stylus devices, there's more need for them.

What is the stylus gesture patches you are talking about? Do they already exist for the Note or is it a work in progress? First time I heard about them so just curious.

They were submitted to gerrit, but weren't completed in time for CM9 and CM9 is now feature-frozen. One of the main issues that held it back was that the screenshot function had permissions issues in a number of scenarios. I'm going to work on forward-porting them to CM10 and cleaning them up when I get time.
If you fully inswrt it, it wont.. i mean if you partially insert it on the 10.1, it wont spin...

mines coming Monday, wife gets my gs3.
Can I ask what happens on your Note II when you press the "Home" button from sleep? Mine takes me to my "Home" screen instead of the app that was open when the phone fell asleep. If I press the "power" button I will however get to the last opened app. I find this very annoying when I have the phone on a table-top. I then have to use to hands to wake correctly.

Im never going to change me S3, except when the S4 comes out. I got used to this size , plus I overclocked the S3's CPU to 1.6, the same as the Note 2's clock speed. So yeah, I wait for the S4

Lol that's what I did as well: bought the note2 thinking:
-screen is big and not pentile
-awesome battery
-stylus
-2GB RAM
And I was a bit disappointed by the screen; sure it's crisp and clear, but the color variation at the slightest angle was annoying (especially on white background).
Black level wasn't that great (SGS1>SGS3>Note2 for those I tested).
The stylus was a big let down: it felt cheap and a bit unreliable. I use a Japanese learning app where you have to write the character they ask you to, it was working just half of the time.
What was left was battery and Ram.
Well, that's great but I was already slightly annoyed when someone called me.
Even alone in my room I thought: "Do I really have to put this near my ear?" :silly:
I realised it wasn't for me, returned it and bought a S3. :cyclops:
Im also gunna be swapping to the Note 2.
Never had any problems with the s3 its just because i bought my Galaxy S3 when it first came out and then soon after they released the Note 2 and now i want that one lol.

Well, the screen on S3 definitely looks sharper (especially the fonts). Higher PPI, I guess.

Well, S3 screen is smaller so, yes, you have this feeling.
But regarding really small fonts, they will be easier to read on the Note2 with a good definition while on the S3 they will turn into "small dots" garbage.
Don't know how to explain better! :silly:
Anyway, that's a case where you zoom-out and display a full web page on your phone.
That could help locate something like a menu or link but you wouldn't read this kind of fonts size.

As much as I enjoyed seeing this vid again, the professionalism with which it is delivered is at odds with displaying a pirated copy of Misfits. :/ sorry to be fussy but please take it as a compliment if your video was amateur you'd expect inappropriate things like that. Of cause if I'm mistaken I apologise but considering the season ended in December and your vid was posted November I don't think I'm out of line.

I absolutely loved the video. It is amazing to see what this phone can actually do. For a start I know skype video calls work much better on my note 2 then my pc which has plenty of cpu cores and gtx series fancy gfx card.
