[Q] Most "rewarding" battery app? - Droid RAZR M Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Ok I have tried multiple battery saving apps and I can't seem to figure out which is the best. I seem to not have very good results from JD, maybe I am setting it up wrong. I am currently trying Du Battery app. What are others experiences?

In my experience, I find it's best not to use any. They all use battery and RAM to save battery, if that makes sense.

not really sure what kind of battery you are expecting from the M, but it gets one of the best. unless you are a power user, you really do not need an app - otherwise, go with the maxx and one of those large extended battery cases.
but in terms of apps, I have found that Greenify works best, but requires root access.

A quick search would have garnered this result.. Which many people agree has done well for saving battery:

Greenify is the only one I had luck with

Battery help

I'm looking to gain some battery life and the main thing I don't want to give up is smoothness and fluidity. I'm getting about 12-18 hours with maybe 2-2.5 screen on time. I know that's not just god awful, but I was thinking that this phone should be better considering its vanilla android.
Any suggestions on things maybe I could try. I dont use a big assortment of apps.

Try a custom kernel. There are a lot of great ones here. Don't ask which one is the best for battery life or performance because everyone will give you a subjective answer or bash at you. (Just kidding) Try them one at a time for a day or two and make your choice.
A great application I recommend would be "Greenify". You need root for the app. Check it out.

Turn off auto brightness and manually dim your screen as far as you can. Turn off things you're not using (Wifi, gps, bluetooth) until you need them. Don't let apps auto sync unless you really need real time updates from them.

Rasbean + Trinity
Battery life combination is to root -> install rasbean jelly by rascarlo, the install morfic's trinity kernel -> keep brightness always at 50% or less, and battery life will e around 15 hours that with 4 hour actual usage... But ofcourse as time progresses and you install thousands of apps that require your internet and push notification they will eat battery, for those apps life facebook and nonesense use greenify the app it trully helps

[Q] Battery life "investigator" that doesn't try to help?

There are a million and one threads on XDA about various apps, widgets, and general approaches for saving battery life. What I'm looking for, and haven't been able to find, is a simple program that doesn't actually do anything active to help, but rather just watches and provides detailed data on what's going on.
I'm 1 months into into my S4, and battery life is noticeably different than when I started. I have lots of theories, but have very little hard data - and that's what I'm after. I don't want a full-fledged program that's going to start flipping things on and off for me. I want an app or tool that can pay attention to whats going on throughout a few battery cycles, tell me how much various culprits are impacting my battery, and do nothing more.
Look up BetterBatteryStats. I like it, and find it very useful to drill down anything acting up sucking battery. Read how to properly use it and it's a great tool.

Do y'all use...

Does anyone use the new features such as "Assist", Touchless control and or any other features that i have believed to drain batters...if you you all DO use any or all of these, can you inform me of your battery life?
Battery life remains almost the same even without use age... They are all really great features!! Try using them!

Yeah I use assist and touchless controls. I haven't noticed a huge battery drain. I think stuff like google now always tracking your location in the background uses much more battery life than anything.

These are the stand out features of the phone. These features are why you buy this phone other than battery. Certainly not for the camera!

I think that's the radio, and it might just be there because it has to be. Might also be other apps causing the radio to be active constantly, though.
Although I don't actually know anything about this (besides that RIL stands for Radio Interface Layer), so I'm probably wrong.
I'm having the same issue, and still can't figure out what's causing it. If you figured it out please report back.

Thats really weird, have you modified the kernel at all? you should try to reinstall the rom fresh.
Nothing modified or tweaking at all, Just complete stock kernel coming from Hyperdrive ROM and I still getting excellent battery life. Weird

How are these battery stats?

I was wondering what people thought of these battery stats. I consider these average for my normal day. I've gotten much better and much worse. Just looking for comparisons. And wondering if anyone had any advice that relates specifically to this phone. Ive done almost everything out there. At least as much as you can do running stock. I have frozen many apps. Disabled almost all non essestial settings. Display is less than 25%. Use app ops. Wake lock detector. Better battery stats. Turned off location on almost everything. The only thing I think hurts me is I have auto sync on many apps, mostly for social media. Mainly I want to know if people who have gone through the ringer trying to squeeze very bit of battery life out of their phones are experiencing similar battery life. I see so many people claiming crazy stats I want to know how they do it.

This is an average day for me of heavy internet browsing and just using my phone really. I am running stock mk2, although i have removed many apps. But i had 15% battery left after that days use.

@ OP.
Those battery stats are average for a normal every day user on stock. Custom ROMS and Kernels if you want super battery tweaking.
So off topic bc I'm a super noob.. I was wondering if you root your phone do you lose the ability to get carrier software updates?

OP, your Android OS is waaaaaaay too high. (try settings/connections/location services/ uncheck "use wireless networks) for a major difference.
He didnt start the post. I did. He was responding to my original question. Thanks.

You can use wanam exposed to fake the system status as official instead of custom. But i prefer to use odin instead.
