How to prevent auto sms->mms conversion? - Galaxy S 4 Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Hello. I have Slim v8 unofficial ROM on i9505.
Even if I uncheck "auto conversion to mms" option in default sms app, long sms are converted.
Is there any way to fix it? Or where can I download dark-themed cm sms.apk fixed??

Same here stock messaging app converts long messages into mms so I installed go sms pro..

For sms to sms I think u have to flash some ROM having that feature
Example omega rom has that feature

There's this feature in the messaging menu where you can restrict MMS conversion.
But as for now (considering you are rooted), I believe you can extract a Secmms.apk from custom roms with the mms conversion disabled and just push the apk to the system

Request: Stock Messages/Texting App (Verizon Rom)

I want to reinstall the stock messaging app, i didn't have a backup (i know my fault). I have lost the "pop up" notification and hoping a reinstall of the factory app will cure it. I'm trying to avoid doing a wipe.
I know i can download a base rom and extract it but was hoping i could just get the app.
Thanks

[Q] Gapps with old SMS app

Can someone please link me to some 4.4.2 Gapps that include the old stock SMS app (the one before Hangouts took over)?
I had it once and seem to have lost it with my latest flash. Every Gapps I've found from searching has been PA-based or just doesn't have the old SMS app in it.
Thanks!
Mm.. Correct me if im wrong but isnt messaging are bundled with a rom not gapps?

Hmm, that's a good point. I'm not sure if it needs to come baked into a rom or not. That would kind of suck.
Just get 8sms and delete hangouts.

Try installing Textra - it's a better version of the old SMS app.

Disable two out of the three and use one. - I use hangouts so enable sms and they default come through via that. If I go I to stock they are in there still also.
