Raspberry Pi Case - Raspberry Pi General

I am a manufacturer of raspberry pi cases and wanted to ask you want you would like to see in a case. Right now i only have one on amazon but am looking to make more designs very soon.
Look up current case on amazon under FlexPi or Lasergoodies

I'd like to see cooling vents and some motherboard style mount points cause my pi just rattles in its current casing. Would love to find a case that has gap for the reset switch mod aswell as space under the pi for an led ambient light or a case styled like a micro atx chassis you know to look like a mini PC
Then there's random things like port covers, no SD slot in the end for people that have micro SD adapters,
Flush USB socket edges or girly designs for if people wanna make a media centre for a girls room
Not all in one case tho

Cooling
You could deliver a transparent case with Heatsinks. If you Overclock the Pi, this is very usefull.

Is there any way to have the case act as a heatsink itself

Or with a mini fan

I bought a Pi and WAS going to put something like this in there feeding off the 5v microusb input. 4mm is quite thin, so can squeeze into the smallest cases easily.
Unfortunately it never happened as i sold the Pi due to lack of time to do what I wanted with it. I did put a heatsink on the cpu and regulator chip but never got around to drilling the bundle of holes for the fan so I could install it.

There's a few aluminum cases out there that have built-in passive heat sinks; don't have the links off the top of my head, just search for Raspberry Pi aluminum case on Google and they'll come up. Can be kinda pricy, but they look freakin' sweet.

Make a "bronze" or "gray" tinted clear case with built in heatsinks.
adafruit sells a solid aluminium case that has sinks built in but its rather expensive.

Something that protects the sd card better.. Mine took a slight knock and damaged the slot on the board. It's now wedged in with some cardboard!

Nexus One scratches

I've kept my Nexus super fresh, but I'm starting to notice some wear&tear in the form of scratches on the chin... their are small chips of the what feels like Teflon spray that are missing near the 3 pins and mini usb. Underneath is what seems to be a shinier plastic so what I guess I'm asking is has anyone else experienced this and if so do you think the back and bottom piece made out of the same material. The back is plastic but if it's the same material I'd consider sanding it down and see a shinier nexus or possibly paint it. Let's hear your suggestions

Im having the same issue with what seems to be coating chipping on the bottom edge near and behid the charging port. I tend to keep very good care of my phone and have no idea whats causing it... ive never thought about sanding it down to the material below though.

The battery door and the bottom are the same material, but the strip in between the two that wraps around the housing is aluminum i think.
All right well when I'm off school I'm gonna tape off the aluminum and sand it with a light sandpaper
Il keep you guys posted

Chipped the plastic bezel. Any advice?

Sadly, I know not to drop shiny new objects but unfortunately I dropped my nexus 7. Thankfully the screen is perfectly fine but I have chipped the silver bezel. Has anyone had any experience with any touch up products?
It may be the case that I could find a cheap nail varnish that would do the job but I do like the idea of trying something tailored for the job.
Any thoughts would be great.
Regards
Edit: I have chipped my dell xps which is a similar colour and also the handle to my fridge. I could buy in bulk as I probably will continue to use it.

Silver Sharpie might work. I used it to color the stylus button on my Galaxy Note S-Pen. Might have to retouch every month or so, but I think the color should be about right. http://www.amazon.com/Sanford-39108...81746&sr=8-4&keywords=sharpie+silver+metallic
Many thanks for the tip. Nice cheap fix.

Is it black underneath?
Just curious, since my bezel is black. I'd imagine if I was just painted plastic it will wear away.

I was thinking of using nail polish. Light silver would seem appopriate...?
It was black rubber (?) underneath. I'm surprised that the metallic finish Sharpie has worked so well but for the best part of the week no degradation. I'll be honest, I'll probably get an Asus cover from the play store when available in the UK as although the colour is spot on - I didn't prime or sand down prior to application so it still catches my eye.

[Q] A good car holder for the Nexus

Hi,
I'm looking for a good car mount for my device. I need to be able to attach it the the AC vent and to rotate it 360 degrees.
After searching a lot I found:
http://www.ebay.com/itm/Luxmo-Car-M...1731?pt=US_Mounts_Holders&hash=item5d3eaaae93
I found many others of course, but they are cheap and they don't seem to be good quality. For example, this:
http://www.ebay.com/itm/Car-Air-Ven...6215?pt=US_Mounts_Holders&hash=item5d3e515577
I want your opinion, do you think anyone of them is good?
Also, I know of clingo:
http://www.clingo.com/car-mounts/universal-vent-mount
This basically holds your phone with some kind magnet (don't think its really a magnet, don't know what it is), but I'm afraid it will somehow ruin the back of my phone (even though I put a case on, I'm very very fanatic about my Nexus. Very).
Is there anyone here who has ever tried it and can give me an opinion?
Thanks!
Anyone?

I am totaly happy with my brodit holder. It is a car specifc car mount which combines with a device specific clip. I bought the mount once and now I am with my 3rd device changing only the clip and its perfect.
What do you mean changing the clip? And can this holder hold the Nexus even when it has a case? I'm using the rinkge fusion.
Sent from my Nexus 4 using xda app-developers app
The holder has two components. One, the holder, attaches to the car, different models for different cars or even the place in your car you want to mount it.And the other, the clip, is specific to the device you have, i.e different devices different clips. So if you change your device you just have to buy a new clip not the whole set.
And No saddly but no, you can't use the Nexus 4 or any other device while in a case.
i use this one:
http://www.ebay.com/itm/Mountek-iPh...2334?pt=US_Mounts_Holders&hash=item232506ddbe
i don't use my CD player because i use my aux in from my phone
plus, when i had a window-mount for my nexus s, on very hot or very cold days it would fall off the window... and i'm not willing to see my nexus 4 fall off the window and explode on impact
Strra can I use it with a case on the nexus?
that's very important to me

Hi,
I just bought the item I posted in the OP:
http://www.ebay.com/itm/Luxmo-Car-M...1731?pt=US_Mounts_Holders&hash=item5d3eaaae93
Is it possible I would have problems with this if the Nexus is in a case?
Thanks!
Try this one. It's very solid and easy to use.

yeah, it's plenty big enough to hold the nexus with a case. i use it with my bumper with no issues. i believe it says it's even big enough to hold a note2 with a case, if that gives you any idea

Magnet placement in Slide Case

Does anyone know where the magnets are inside the slide case? Or even in the Tegra Note itself? Would love to try a DIY project, honestly can't bring myself to pay $30 for a cover that only protects the screen just because it has a few magnets in it.
Magnets are in the tablet. Get a piece of steel (like a pin) and see where it sticks to the tablet.

Well yes, I will do that when mine is delivered tomorrow fingers crossed lol.
I was just looking for something to keep me busy while I wait lol

Is the s pen attracted by magnets?

Trying to find an s pen in a tight spot, anyone asks to test if it can be picked up with a magnet? It seemed mostly plastic but hoping..

I think it should work. Just tested.
The back of the pen is slightly attracted, but the tip really attracts.
So, if you can, aim for the tip
thanks for the info. I dropped the phone in car in such a way the pen rocket propelled inside A/C duct. I was hoping to fish the pen out of the inside of A/C duct in car. Ended up opening up the dash and still not locating it. First world problems.
