Hello everyone,
I have bought a S4 I9505 from German Amazon to use in my country, Belgium. I have rooted it with the pre-rooted ROM from the forum, right now it is on ME2 firmware.
My mobile operator is Proximus. They have recently rolled out the 4g network in the country. I have subscribed to it, and before they activated 4g network for me, the 2g/3g network was working fine. After the 4g activation, I can seem to connect to the 4g network, with the 4g icon visible in the top bar. However, there is no internet connection. What's worse, when I tried to fall back on the "GSM/WCDMA only" option, I cannot connect to the mobile network at all. I have called my operator, but they told me they didn't see anything wrong on their side. So I tried to flash different basebands, from MDM to ME3, nothing worked...
Does anyone have a similar problem or know how to solve this problem? Any help would be appreciated! Thanks!

Did you check your imei? You may have lost that during the rom flash.

yes I have checked, the IMEI is still there, same as the one printed inside the phone... but thanks!

Hi everybody.
My SGS had Doc's Rom 9.1.4 from kitchen, with australian modem and hardcore's kernel.
In Italy, everything is fine.
Then, i went to Sweden, and the phone was TOTALLY UNABLE to do any kind of roaming.
Signal bars are shown, but with "Emergency calls only" string being displayed.
I was not able to do ANYTHING with an italian sim in my i9000 while in Sweden (i tried 2 of them, and both worked with my friend's SGS with a doc rom, so it's not a sim-related problem).
I borrowed from a friend a Swedish sim (Comviq) and it worked with no problems.
Today i came back to Italy, and the sim works again.
While in Sweden i thought i had a "software" problem, so i flashed last 9.9.5 docrom no wipe (no luck), then the 9.9.5 wipe (no luck again) and a JS5 version my friend had in his SD.
I tried to select manually the provider (telenor or telia or others) but a popup said it was impossible to connect and to automatically select one of them.
What's the problem, in your opinion?
I think it's a strong problem, basically my phone can't do any roaming.

Might be your modem is on 850 band only
I was on JL2 (australian one), then i tried JQ1.
The band-thing imho has not sense, 'cause when i put the swedish comviq sim it worked like a charm..
No experts on this out there?

Maybe you don't have roaming active? You should check with your operator.
Have you also tried using your sim in a different phone?

Yes, it's written in the first post. I tried 2 italian sims on my phone while in Sweden: not working. On another SGS: both working.

Is you IMEI correct? Maybe in Sweden they block access to their networks if you're roaming and your IMEI is not real.

I have a Sprint S4 (SPH-L720) which i got from the states. I plan to use this in Canada...was able to root/unlock the phone via SIM Unlock Method posted (http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2415587&highlight=sph-l720).
My issue is that i am unable to browse internet or use any apps needing internet on the GSM/UTMS network mode. I have a Rogers LTE chip that i am using and am able to use the phone (voice calling) with no issues. I can use internet on wifi but am unable to when trying internet via the phone chip...i do have a 6GB plan with Rogers and can browse internet when used on another phone.
I had to downgrade the Baseband to MDL/MDC to sim unlock the phone and have later installed MF9.
The software version and baseband now on the phone is: L720VPUAMF9. Earlier had an issue that the wifi was not working, option was disabled...(was getting a message - that an app is trying to connect...) this got fixed after i flashed the kernel version.
Can anyone advice how i can use data from the GSM network and not wifi.. has anyone faced the same issue.
Add your APN for your gsm sim under APN settings.

Thanks guys...i was able to get the APN settings and now my phone works on data from the lte chip inserted.
Now my issue is that my phone does not show LTE....i have another S4 with Rogers and i verified running speed test on a friend's phone to compare...my specs on the sprint phone are almost 40% lower than his phone on the same network..ran from the same location (apt). I tried various combinations i.e. (LTE, LTE/CDMA, GSM) but i can only get 3g or H+.
Any suggestions that i can try...Thanks!
This phone doesn't have the proper bands to work on Rogers LTE.

Hi guys, I dunno if this a frequently asked question but my N9005 won't pick up any 3G signal here in Morocco. 2G works fine and when I try to force it into 3G mode only it doesn't pick up any signal AT ALL. I tried few official roms, even the Moroccan one but nothing. I read about SPT box flashing but That's not available in my city.
I'm running on 4.2.2 btw

Does your provider or the area you are in have 3g coverage ? Just asking. If you have set it in the settings, and you're in a 3g area it should work. Have you checked your APN settings ?
Sometimes mine won't connect to 4g, then i have to reboot it.
And it's forbidden to bump up your thread in less than 24 hours. What do you think, people are just waiting here to answer your questions ? No. Patience.

Are you using a local SIM or Roaming?
If you're using Roaming, not every provider has a contract with every other provider for every network. There needs to be a contract between providers before you can use the local 3G network.

Is the CSC you posted in the first post correct? If so, XUF is not a valid CSC code as far as I can tell. XXUF is the bootloader, it should not be in the CSC.
A faulty CSC can cause the device to be limited to GPRS.

Bro, I'm from Morocco too and I have the same phone as you as well as the same problem, but I managed to fix it in Derb Ghellef, just take your phone there and they will fix it in moments and only for 50 DH.

Hey Bro thank's for the answer … The thing is I'm from Kenitra and happen to go to Casa rarely … Do you have an idea of what they did ? Maybe I'll find someone here who can do the same !

Hi, ive been an owner of an HTC bolt for a while now. Recently my island was hit by the famous Hurricane Irma (Puerto Rico, USA Territory). And ever since my mobile data dont want to connect.
Details about the phone:
HTC Bolt (Sprint but is GSM Unlocked and have been using it with H2O Company. Uses At&t Towers.)
Phone is bootloader unlocked and rooted but stock software i believe is the march latest update (1.32.651.6)
The phone was working excellent by that day. Now i had to switch to my spare phone HTC M9 and mobile data works fine here.
Rightnow i still dont have electricity at home. But i was wondering if any of you guys have had this same issue or maybe know why this could happen.
Ive tried resetting network settings, checked the APN multiple times. And no luck. Also i have access to the DM menu where i can see all the network settings when i input the MSL code. But everything seems fine.
Maybe running an RUU on it can fix the problem...

Willing to bet it is more of a provider issue. Give it some time for them to fix the infrastructure

I thought of that but in that case my M9 shouldn't be working either. And its perfectly working. Don't know maybe is the LTE band it is trying to connect is bad or something. Because on the M9(Factory Unlocked version) the data is working but not as fast as always.

this thing is driving me crazy. I'm on the line to Customer Service to see if they can find the issue.
But me guessing, does the radio image installed on the phone has anything to do with that? Does that file or part of the ROM could get scrambled and cause this kind of issue??
Update:
They have reset the account, but they say is the phone thats giving me the issue, since the SIM card shows successful connection on another phone. I will try to run the RUU on this and see...
Ok so apparently the issue is on the network. I just tried my sister SIM card from T-Mobile and the phone connects perfectly to internet. So apparently the issue is maybe a technical problem on the network band the carrier is transmitting. And that band isn't available or not accepted on the Bolt cuz is a Sprint variant.
Don't know 100% sure but apparently that's the issue. I checked on the M9 what bands are the phone connecting and according to LTE Discovery App the phone is connecting to band 17 or band 4.

Is there a way to edit network bands on a phone?

I have a big issue with SMG935V phone. I purchased the phone in US, and I am now currently living in Slovenia, EU. The problem is I can't connect to my local network with my local SIM card. Whenever I enter my local SIM, the info comes up, that says: ''This is not a Verizon Wireless SIM" and the network goes gray, I can't select a new network. I tried entering Access Point Names, but to no success. Last month when I was in US, I brought the phone to Verizon Store, where they guaranteed me, that the phone is unlocked and should work properly even in Europe.
Does anybody have an idea, what should I do?

So now I flashed the U rom on it, but now when I search for networks it says that there is an error... and the phone doesn’t connect to the network

It seems as if the radio was turned off, does anybody have an idea how to access those settings?
