Expansys UK.. - One (M7) General

...really are a Company I have concerns about. Last night at 11pm they had '100+' in stock of the HTC One. By 6am this morning they were 'stock due in 4 days'. Really? Or is this just a great way to get people to order an item they then find is out of stock.
I speak from experience of having waited 2 months for this Company to refund me for an HTC ONE X+ that I returned within 3 days of receipt. The reason for this delay? There wasn't one. I called them approx 3 times per week to be continually told the refund was being processed, however after 7 weeks I finally got the honest truth.... They hadn't taken any action at all and had simply not actioned the refund because they had mislaid my card details.

So with all the issues you had before you go ahead and order from them again?? ::confused

Expansys are the official HTC accessories company for UK.
I have no experience of ordering phone from them, but have bought numerous genuine HTC accessories from them.
My experience has been positive, one recent purchase was HTC flip case, after receiving my order , without contacting them I received an email advisory that a improved version was available, and without any extra charge was sent to me.
So whilst not discounting your experience, I have really good service and consequently wouldn't hesitate to buy from them in future
Sent from my HTC One using xda app-developers app

I tend to agree, I have previously enjoyed ordering items from them but since last summer they seem to have made a turn for the worst. I never received a 32 GB sdcard and despite emailing them several times I never did get a refund. Also I ordered a galaxy note 10.1 for Christmas and they didn't dispatch in time for Christmas.......because they were waiting for the sdcard to come back in stock..... .hello!

Sorry mis-read your original post so my apologies.... note to self grab a coffee and wake up before replying!

its really bizarre, as some retailers don't have any issues with stock whilst some are playing this trick the OP mentioned.. Wifey ordered from Very and she is still waiting.. I thought the stock issues should have been sorted out by now.. I can feel your pain..

Unfortunately, they have a bad system. The only way I was able to understand it was like this: Say they have 120 backorders, and you were customer number 101 from those 120. They then receive 100 units, instead of shipping them directly, they update their inventory/system that they received 100 units, hence their website show 100 in stack, but then they ship them to the 100 customers and stock is finished. The balance 20 backorders will have to wait for a new batch!

SuperTrader.co.uk - For anyone thinking about using them!

Hi
SupereTrader.co.uk are the only mail order outfit in the UK that I know of that claim to have stock of the Experia. Expansys & Clove have sold out.
I phoned supertrader on Friday to ensure that they had stock - was informed that they had plenty; I agreed with the bloke that if I bought there and then, and paid their £15.99 Saturday delivery charge (Royal Mail Special Delivery), they would ship it Friday for delivery today.
Anyway, they never bothered to post it. My suspicion is that they never did actually have the device in stock. They have taken the money from my account (including the £15.99) Saturday delivery charge.
I've emailed them to cancel the order - as far as I am concerned they failed to uphold their side of the bargain.
So... for others thinking about buying an Experia, avoid this crowd - its unlikely that they actually have stock.
I checked out their ratings on the price comparison sites - and they appeared to be reasonable... not from my experience. If they could not ship it for Saturday delivery, they should have told me, and I would not have bothered ordering.
Nigel
Let me tell you one thing superetrader is the best and I got my xperia 2 weeks ago from them and they delivered all the time mine was next day delivery and they delivered I always bought all my fones from them, and they never ever let me down it is the best supplier in the uk or world wise, be patient you cancelled to soon they have the black ones in stock, they just emailed saying they had the black ones but i am happy with my silver one from them,
I got mine from them
very efficent and helpful
next day delivery £507.99 not bad at all
highly recommended
I bought an Eten X500 from them many months ago , paid for Saturday delivery on Friday afternoon and had to take Monday morning off work cause they posted normal next working day service, never replied to my emails and i never got the promised call back from my phone calls
Hi
I suspect my story is the same as csw43's. Maybe it will arrive today, then I just have to get the excess £8 out of them for not sending it Saturday delivery as agreed, and wait until next weekend before I can get to the PO and collect it. They wont get my cancelation request until this morning so if they already posted it, I guess I will (eventually) recieve it.
We shall see.
Nigel
Does the website open?
Its getting redirected to a parked domain.
No such web site as supertrader.co.uk
The company is actually superetrader.co.uk
They mention to have +10 pcs of the xperia. Is this accurate?
Aye, spelt the name wrong - unfortunately, I cant change the title, have corrected the initial post. Phoned them this morning - they still claim to have stock.

Beware if you buy parts from Global Direct Parts

Anybody looking to buy parts from Global Direct Parts .com beware of them, it's a scam.
I placed an order for 4 ribbon cables for HD2 phones on a sat. The next monday I wanted to add something the said it was already processed, so I had to place another order and pay shipping.
They FAQ says they can reduce min quantities if I buy at least $ 125 of parts, so I add a LCD and place order. They cancelled since now they want $ 149 min. They also went over and changed their web site, so I cannot prove anything.
After 2 weeks my parts are not here, so I call and a wiseguy said I still have to wait until the next 2 days since it was still processing.
The next day they email me they lost my package.
I reply demanding they ship another with Express delivery to make up for the poor service.
They decline and want to issue a refund, and guess what, price on items has gone up (what a coincidence).
I emailed today asking where is my refund (paid with Paypal) and they stated it takes 2 BUSINESS days to issue it.
I placed a claim on Paypal and they emailed back threaten me to stall refund indefinitely unless I remove the claim.
Sorry for this long rant, but such a poor customer service place shouldn't be allowed to do business. I invite anybody NOT to use this place.
They also falsely claim they have all the parts in USA, while they actually dropship from China, Taiwan, and Hong Kong.
Beware guys !!!
Wow. That sux

I will agree. Terrible customer service. They say they have new or "a" stock.... the "a" stock are used parts, including damaged and unusable. the others are just in poor shape. then there's the problem with them making you pay to ship their junk back, even after it has been determined to be their error. that's just shady. then the total bs they call customer service... if your lucky to get someone, they are uneducated and clueless about anything going on. good luck trying to get answers or some management to reply to you. i own a repair shop and have spent (wasted) thousands of dollars with these losers.
BEWARE AND AVOID!!!!!
thanks will know

I bought a Samsung Captivate housing almost a year ago and it took about 5 days to get it. Part was new with no scratches at all.
Had no problem with them
I have bought some FFC's from them before and didnt have any issue. Good to know though if I do anything through them in the future!
I bought some. Speakers for an evo 4g about 8 months ago and all went well. About a month or 2 later I got emails from them saying that they had a major employee leave and not to trust emails coming from a. Similar company.
I had a great experience with them and the parts were perfect
Hi All,
It seems that this company went through a bit of a struggle at some point. Being a business owner myself I know that dealing with the public is not always easy especially when you have employees that are not the right fit. You can only do your best and learn from your mistakes and successes.
I just purchased tablet frames from them and they were perfect, the customer service was perfect and I am going to their website now to purchase more. I found some really hard to find products in new condition and at a great price. Personally my experience was great and I would highly recommend them. Definitely NOT a scam. They delivered.

I think it is true that maybe a competitor is trying to sabotage them. I saw the same exact review plastered across several different review sites. I just got parts from Global Direct Parts recently. While I can't say the parts are so good, the customer service was very rapid and good. Apparently they sent an aftermarket that was suppose to be OEM. The customer service agent said the Huawei OEM parts are hard to come by and they usually get it out of refurbished phones now and some might have been refurbished before with aftermarket parts that they didn't end up catching. They immediately refunded me saying since the OEM parts is hard to come by, there is a good chance I'll get another aftermarket.
The other 3 parts they sent are good and as described. I would definitely do business with the company again.

[Q] HD2 been in for repair over one month!

My touch screen died on my HD2, it was one of the older versions bought in Jan last year. I sent it off to HTC in April and they've had it over a month now. They say the parts are in Taiwan but have no idea when they'll ship. I simply can't beleive such a big company can happily take my phone off me for over a month and still not be able to tell me when they'll repair it. And to top it off, they sent my proof of purchase, which had my name/address etc on it, to a totally different customer; the numpty repair shop had clearly shoved my paperwork in to some elses repaired HTC phone.
Anyone else have the same issues with them at the moment? Anyone managed to get a replacement handset out of them yet???
This is a high bureaucracy if you want something repaired under warranty...

Funnily enough they sent me an email today to say the phone should be with me on the 25th and the delay was due to moving the repair centre. That's the first time they mentioned that, up till today, it was always "we're waiting on parts, not sure what's happening". If only people could be honest. At least they've offered a free accesory up to 50 quid as a way of saying sorry so that's not too bad. Still, this whole debacle makes me think my next phone won't be a Sensation but a Galaxy S2. I hope Samsung do better repairs!

Got the same call today - repaired phone will be back with me next week & I chose the Bluetooth Headset for £50 as a freebie from HTC (as an apology for the delay in returning the phone to me).
The experience has not made me want to jump from the HTC brand (been with them since the old days of the SPV) - therefore I will still be grabbing a Sensation when my contract expires in the next few months.
Mine got picked up 6 weeks ago today and I got the same email yesterday. It was a Desire that I sent off.
try to ask them send u a new phone ^^
Sent from my HTC HD2 using XDA App
Ive tried many times lol.
Have any of you got UPS tracking numbers for your devices to be shipped back?
My HD2 finally arrived back today with a nice new working touch screen (just as HTC said it would).
Although the HTC website says that it is awaiting pick-up by the courier service
Now I have to find another screen protector & try my best to apply it minus dust bubbles & turned up corners.
Well, well.... Got my phone back today after 6 weeks and 5 days unrepaired, exactly with the same fault as when I sent it and with my battery missing to top it off.
HTC have now told me that I will be receiving a brand new Desire S for compensation, its supposed to arrive today or tomorrow.
Anyone else been offered a brand new phone for compensation?
Lets say that my experience in the Benelux area is not much better.
The first time my HD2 got into repair, 1.5 months ago. 3 appointments to pick it up and not showing up with the most lame excuses.
Device was fixed after that in 1 week time which is good to me but the delivery back was another thing .... again.
The guy on the phone also asked me why I was angry after 3 missed appointments. Well if I do that in my current role I will not make it untill the end of the week.
Now after a month my phone has a MB problem and I already feared the support thing when it started happening. Needless to say I was right again!
Called in on Monday morning and was asked when it should be picked up. Two choices Tuesday 9am-1pm or 1pm-6pm, so I choose 9am-1pm.
They picked it up at 4:20pm. Not so funny when you think that I have to arrange my working day (and customers) for it.
To top it off. This morning I get an email that the device they received is not a desire hd as mentioned in the case but a hd2. sighhh
-------
Aangemeld Product:
Desire HD - Desire HD
Referentienummer: 11BECxxxxxxxxxxxxxx
Ontvangen Product:
TOUCH HD 2 - TOUCH HD 2
--------
And I won't go into detail on what happened to my Touch Pro a year ago which went into service a couple of times and wasn't fixed at all.
... and we have a winner ... again.
Got a message last Friday that my HD2 was ready.
Now this morning I asked Dynafix (the company that 'fixes' it in the Benelux)where it was and what was done to fix the issue.
'installed the latest rom' I was speechless.
I already told the HTC guy what was done before it was picked up and ofcourse installing the latest rom is one of them.
About 20 minutes later by coincidence I get customer care on the line asking me if I was satisfied with the repaired phone. (That I still don't have btw)
I mention what I just heard from the repaircenter and that the device will not work like it should.
It will have to come in 1 more time and then they can do a swap if it gets approved.
The device has not been working like it should since March the 27th.
I asked if it could get swapped for another model and I got a straight 'no'.
HTC is seriously getting on my nerves. Spending over 2000 Euros on phones over the past 3 years and not doing something in return for customers is not a good thing.
I was tempted to ask for a Sensation and pay a part of it myself but now I am more than tempted to get the Samsung S2.
Edit: The thing arrived 15 minutes ago ..... pop in battery and 5 minutes later ... stuck
Already recorded it to have some proof http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=u7rswNyy2DI
Edit 2: Contacted HTC again to ask them if they can exchange it.
This really .... me of. They concider the last repair not a repair but a software upgrade so they will not exchange it.
Strange since I sent it in for a repair and already mentioned that I did a rom upgrade etc.

HTC Repair Center in the UK

Anyone got recent experience of the repair service in UK?
Have just send my HD to have the touch screen repaired only to find out that their repair center is not good.
Any experiences?
Rob.
I just recently sent mine back. They returned it with the same fault I sent it in for. All they did was a factory reset.
This sounds familiar, I sent my wife's desire back 3 times with speaker noise. Came back reset every time with the same problem. After many phone calls and a letter to the CEO we were contacted by a Regional Customer Care Manager who again was worse than useless. Stand your ground as HTC policy is to replace phones after 3 failed attempts to repair the same fault. Hope this is useful.
I quoted the sale of goods act to Phones4U that states the retailer is liable for repairs, etc... I got a replacement sent out in 3-4 days.
I have the number of the Written Complaints Team of Phones4U if anyone needs it. I didn't write to them.

Same experience.

Although IANAL as Andy states in the UK your contract is with the retailer not the manufacturer, so it's the retailer who is required to sort the problems out, they can ask you to deal with the manufacturer direct BUT you are not obliged to do so.
They all get sent to HTC anyway and because Carphone Warehouse are doubly useless I chose to send mine to HTC direct.
I got my phone back within 3 weeks. I have no idea if they fixed it or not because they neglected to return my battery. I have now been waiting for a week for HTC to get stock back in again.
Shambles.
I really feel for you fellers as I've been on the arse end of rubbish repair service with a SONY, NOKIA & Phones4U in the past. My son's wildfire just came back from the UK repair centre & I have been absolutely amazed atwith all of it. From the inital call to the return of the phone - for a non working screen - 3 days, 3 days! Received this AM & so far all seems as it ought to be. Maybe I got lucky (& I do hope this positive post doesn't snap back & bite me on the butt) but I can't complain at all.
(That's killed it, I just know I've opened a world of pain for meself now )
Oh & I hope all you experiencing bad service really do get your stuff sorted to your satisfaction asap.
My first Desire HD bricked itself doing an OTA update, so I sent it back. I say "sent"... here's a rough timeline:
Monday @ 9am approx. - Called HTC
Monday @ 2pm approx. - Phone was picked up by courier!
Thursday - Received email to say the phone was fixed and was on the way back.
Monday @ 12 approx. - Received phone back from courier.
Bear in mind the Friday and second Monday were public holidays, so on a normal week I would have had it back on the Friday I think. As for the repair, they replaced the mainboard, shell and battery were original. I checked the hardware IDs etc, but HTC also confirmed the board replace when I called them.
All in all, I was quite satisfied. The only improvement would be to offer while you wait service by travelling to Milton Keynes and being in person.
That's pretty good. Far better than I received, here's my timeline.
Wk1 - Friday @ 10AM - Contacted HTC (Vibration Motor Failure) - Advised of 20+ days turnaround time due to repair centre re-location.
Wk2 - Tuesday @ Daytime - Handset picked up.
Wk3 -
Wk4 -
Wk5 -
Wk6 - Thursday @ 4PM - Contacted HTC to see where my handset was. Advised they had it and an engineer will look at it ASAP.
Wk7 - Tuesday @ Daytime - Courier returns handset. No notice given, luckily I had the day off.
Wk7 - Tuesday @ Daytime +1 - Contacted HTC - No repair made, vibration motor still faulty. Firmware updated to 2.36.405.8 - Advised of 20+ days turnaround, etc...
Wk7 - Tuesday @ Daytime +2 - Contacted Phones4U - Explained situation, got nowhere, reminded them of their responsibility under the Sale of Goods Act. "they are liable for repair, repair made in a reasonable timeframe, etc...." passed to "Written Complaints Team" they agreed with shocking turnaround and arranged a replacement.
Wk7 - Friday @ 10AM - Courier delivered brand new Desire HD.
Wk8 - Wednesday @ 9AM - Courier picked up faulty Desire HD.
Wk9 - Wednesday @ Daytime - Cheque of £50 through the post as compensation for my troubles. (I did not ask for this).

Yes agreed, but you are absolving them of responsibility by going it alone, which may make life more difficult for you in the long run.
Here is the reason I'm getting worried:
http://www.theregister.co.uk/2011/05/18/htc_failed_support/
The phone cost so much in the first place that I figured it best to get it sorted as soon as.
All the posts I logged about not being able to allow apps root etc, turns out it was the touch panel the whole time.
Since December when i got the phone I was thinking it was just me
I dropped it into a Vodafone Ireland shop so if it gets lost or comes back with the same fault, at least I will have someone to argue with.
Am back to using my old Omnia i900. Man is this thing a donkey. Hope my HD makes it back to me soon in one 100% working piece.
To those who have rooted their device and needed repair, do you need to unroot and S-on your device before sending?

It wouldn't do you any harm, but in the UK at least they can't decline a hardware warranty claim because you've rooted
I just ran the stock RUU over mine before returning it.
11 days ago HTC emailed me to advise they had dispatched a new battery......guess what.......yep, nowt.
They were also delighted to inform me that they had dispatched an 8GB mSDHC card by way of compensation........genius. We had actually agreed on a 16GB card. Either way it has not arrived anyway.
Utter shambles from start to finish.
Just got a call from Vodafone to say my phone had come back from repair.
Going to head out and get it shortly. Will be interesting to see if its actually fixed.
I had a bad experience.. took them 45 days to sort out my phone.
It was sent in due to a camera blur, it blurred the right hand side. I got told it will be 5 working days... These days came and went, so I called them up, to be told it is on the priority list, which means it will be sent out asap (a couple of days). This time period came and went. Long story short, they kept telling me my phone will be sent out in the next couple of days, when really it was sat there waiting for a new camera to be delivered from Taiwan, which I found out about 30 days in.
In the end, I quote the sales and goods act, and pointed them to the direction of their terms and conditions, which state that in a delay, either party must notify the other, but they never notified me. And the Act which stated that a repair must be done in a reasonable time frame, else a replacement product must be issued.
After I sent them off a letter stating this, I had an email reply saying that my phone will be with me by next wednesday, which also came and went... on the Thirsday they rung me up, telling me a new, boxed HTC Desire HD will be sent out to me, I got that on the Friday. Makes me wonder why they didn't save time with all this messing around, read their own terms and conditions, plus check out the law before they built a repair centre!
Overall, I was glad I had a brand new phone, but annoyed with their level of service, and lack of answers. I even had Orange ringing them up requesting my phone be returned to be as they had broken the law.
Matt
Just been to collect the phone and just as well i tested it in store.
Still not fixed. All they did was reload the software!
So, its off for another repair now with alot more details added to the description.
Exactly what they did to mine, I don't understand the thought process of these "Engineers/Technicians". Repair notes state,
"Faulty Vibration Motor: Does not vibrate / distinct scratching noise when supposed to vibrate".
Somehow updating the software to 2.36.405.8 will fix an obvious hardware fault?

GIZOK Mate 8

Hi, has anyone here bought there mate 8 from gizok. I purchased mine on Febuary 11 and money was taken from my account. Its a week later and has not been shipped i also selected express shipping. Ive contacted them and they said they had new years and it will be shipped and it still has not. Wondering if people here have dealt with them? Thanks

Yeah I've ordered three phones from Gizok including my Mate 8 and all were shipped pretty quickly. With the Chinese New Year there is always a delay. Email them again and ask them if they have any word when it will be shipped. You probably didn't need express shipping as I got mine in three days to the US.

So they are shipping today. I picked express whats that mean 2 nights? It would be nice sold my note 5 on valentine and not having a phone is killing me hope it comes sooner then later.. thanks
I ordered from Wondamobile a few days ago. They still havent shipped so I emailed them and they said "The stock for Mate 8 is having a global delay due to the congestion after the CNY holiday."
I hate that this site and most others still have them displayed as in stock
I ordered two Mate 8's for my wife and I on the 13th of February. I knew the Chinese new year was still in full swing, then here in the US we had presidents day that following Monday, but it's been almost a week. They were quick to take my money though. I've emailed them, and they've assured me that they will be shipped within 1-2 business days. I've been checking every day, but sadly it still says the order is still "processing." I'm beginning to really dislike that word, and would like to remove it from my vocabulary. Yes I'm an impatient little brat.
-Update-
Gizok finally shipped them last Friday, but not before I had to be a little assertive with them, I basically told them that I spent a lot of money, and was promised expedited shipping 3-5 days. They shipped them that day. I'm receiving them tomorrow (crossing fingers). I just hope that they don't send me two bad phones on account that they felt I was a little rude to them. We'll see.

Is Gizok a reliable site? And how much time did it take you to get the phone?
I thought they were reliable. I think it took so long for shipping because of the Chinese new year, but once they shipped, it literally took 3 days. I'll warn you, the packaging is adult proof lol. It took a bit to get them out, but they pack them very well, nothing was damaged, and the phone is gorgeous.
I've ordered a bunch of stuff from Gizok and never had a problem. Once in a while something isn't in stock but it comes in within a few days and they ship it when it does. The Chinese New Year is the worst time to order something from China as a lot of businesses close for it.
Does anyone have contact info on Gizok? I've placed an order for a Huawei Mate S, but whenever I click their Contact page or Help Desk function from My Account, they come up as completely empty pages. It feels dodgy, but since ajsmsg78 said above that you've ordered more items from them and all received, seems a bit more reassuring. I actually want to contact them to change my order from Mate S to Mate 8. Hopefully they can still do that. Thanks in advance!
Edit: I've tried to contact them through Facebook messenger, but that seems unresponsive.
Email them at [email protected]
I ordered a mate 8 off the site initially and never received it and they weren't much help. All they do is tell you to ask DHL.
Hi Ephemera,
Thanks for your reply.
You're saying they ripped you off for hundreds of dollars? You just lost all that money and that's that?
I'm not sure if I wanna take my chances and give them even more money by switching my order to a more expensive phone now
On the other side, a colleague at work ordered a Xiaomi from aliexpress and didn't receive it either, but in his case it really was DHL. Apparently a delivery guy that stole it.
Would be great to get some more input on Gizok. I'll mail them at the given address but first I want to know why their contact and help desk pages are blank.
Thanks again!
Response through email is very swift. They've notified me that a switch to Mate 8 is not possible since they already shipped my Mate S. Sounds promising. I'll update if/when the phone arrives.
Today I received confirmation from DHL that they received the package and I had to pay import tax. They're delivering monday, so thats just 7 days delivery time. I'm happy so far
Phone arrived today Packaged really well and delivered super fast (4 days). Thumbs up to Gizok :good:

I'm not sure if I wanna take my chances and give them even more money by switching my order to a more expensive phone now
On the other side, a colleague at work ordered a Xiaomi from aliexpress and didn't receive it either, but in his case it really was DHL. Apparently a delivery guy that stole it.
Would be great to get some more input on Gizok. I'll mail them at the given address but first I want to know why their contact and help desk pages are blank.
Thanks again!

Still waiting on a resolution though I'm glad you have received your item. I advise everyone to purchase elsewhere until I see where they take this, I do not want anyone else to be stuck in my shoes.
