[Q] C6602 vs C6603 - Xperia Z General

Hello all,
Deciding to choose between the C6602 or C6603. I am in the US and it would be on Tmobile. Do both support HSPA+? I've also read that the ZL baseband can be flashed for LTE support in CA, has anyone tested in the US for AT&T or Tmobile? From what I understand, the ZL baseband supports those bands.
I would like to be able to choose between LTE and HSPA+
What is the best choice for my situation. These bands confuse me so I apologize, I did my research and this is my last resort to get a clear answer.
Cheers.

Starting new threads in the wrong section about a subject that has a few threads already that I've shown can be found by Googling your own thread title is quite annoying to regular members who come here everyday.

That doesn't give you the right to talk down to someone or give condescending responses. I posted in the wrong section, that has happened before and will happen again by others.
And I feel like you are saying because I don't "come here everyday" or post all the time is insulting. This is why I don't post, because they're is always someone ready to criticize at the blink of an eye.
I felt like my question was worth asking. I looked up and searched but my question differs slightly. I am in the US and was wondering if anyone else tried LTE.

OP - You should have searched & posted in the correct section. I'm not going to lecture you on this, we all have better things to do with our time.
The Rest - Seriously? What is your problem? Why can't you all just get on? If you have nothing constructive to say, don't post. This is the internet, if you're getting mad at someone you don't even know posting in the wrong place you take things way too seriously.
@G1_enthusiast - You think that XDA being a developers forum we don't have ways to know about duplicate accounts? Did you know that most browsers can be queried for a unique installation ID? IP's are an ancient and ineffective way to track users.

Because this is a development thread. Where people develope programs and provide assistance on them. Its not the yellow pages. No one here works for you. We are not your secrateries. New threads like this clog up the forum and make it difficult for those of us who use search. Take some time to read the forum rules.
Here is the hint. Top of this page to the right is a "Search" button. Its just below your name. Use it to search the contents of your original subject line of this thread. If you can copy/paste the http address of your search result to prove to me you did your due dilegents, but still cant find your answer, I will help you learn how to use search properly so you don't continue to post new threads. But at this point I don't think you have used more than 2 minutes of your time searching on your own.

Wow, never before have I seen such "jerk" behavior at xda deverlopers. I know the person should have searched and I'm not discounting that fact, but there is NO reason to jump down someone's throat with that tone. Sorry, I'm a Japanese and I ever saw how much loathing and hatred went into your post. Next time, please do more courteous behavior... if not, I hate to think of how people will treat you.

The reason people tell you to search is because this site, like any other activity has rules. One of them is to READ and SEARCH to find the answers yourself before you post a question that has been answered in numerous other locations. While some people may be overly aggressive in their suggestion that you use the search function, it does not make their point any less valid. There are a lot of people on this site, and all of them are volunteers. Nobody gets paid to be here. When you decide that you're gonna clutter the forum with threads and posts that have already been answered very thoroughly in easily searchable locations then it just makes it more difficult for people who actually do know how to use the site properly to find anything. So in the future, if you have an interesting idea (which you did) then do some looking to see if maybe somebody else had that same idea and post your thoughts there. That way everyone who is interested in that idea can go to one place to follow any development that happens there. Otherwise you are basically saying to all the people who put a lot of time in here, that you think your time is more valuable than their's. Which puts us in this perpetual cycle of people who don't know anything complaining because the people who do know the answers want them to learn how to find the answers rather than just giving them the answer.

Search the entire forum. In fact google the interenet for the question I posted in that thread. It is no where to be found. And it was a development idea posted in a development thread after all that searching had been done. Your not comparing apples to apples. In fact there is no comparable comparison.

I was less of a dip**** and it continued to happen. At least this is getting some attention that may make a noticable difference of noob's continuing down the same old path of ask questions first, search as a last result.
It would be great if the Moderators would put a sticky at the bottom of the sticky posts for this forum titled "How to Use Search before you post a New Thread" since noob's aren't even taking the time to read the forum rules. While their at it make the title of the sticky thread alway stay BOLD even if no new posts are made in it.
Hey Mods!!!! What do you think of that idea???

[Q] Root Block: Intentional or Bug?

Cyanogen is saying its a bug. Tmo is saying its a feature. which one is correct?
If it is indeed a bug how would tmo go about fixing our phones? mass recall? sweep under the rug?
If its a feature, is it a precursor to what future phones will be?
Either outcome isnt very good for the consumer and may lead to lots of lost customers for tmo. Specially after tmo releasing a statement that its a feature of the phone.
I love this phone, the very first smartphone i ever had, and was really looking forward to hacking around with it but its hard to justify such a device that locks you out of such features. I hope cyanogen and all the other great devs work out a solution to this problem. I dont want to send it back.

People are being jerks for sure, but OP, you should search better cuz your question has been answered in several threads. The short of it is NO. It is not a bug in the sense you are thinking. It is an intentional bug which tricks linux (android os) into thinking writes to the system files during root are being made when in actuality, the writes are only being written to cache. Once the cache is cleared during reboot the root access is erased because it wasn't actually written to the system in the first place. It's not a bug that needs to be fixed. It's a bug that was placed there to fool the system and make permanent root more...challenging.

There is a very informational Wiki out. Check it out. It will get you up to date with all the work that has been done towards root.
http://forum.xda-developers.com/wiki/index.php?title=HTC_Vision#Rooting_the_G2
The important part of the question.. for me.. is whether the Z has the same bugFeature.
I see one random user saying that they flashed a G2 rom on a Desire Z and nothing more. Have I missed something? Kinda hard to say yay or nay based solely on that.
"Intentional Bug" ????
If it's intentional, it's NOT a bug.

Thank you XfooYen for the info. I did a quick search before I posted(the posting page even searches similar post before you publish them) and found nothing similar. I will make sure to search more thoroughly next time.
I am familiar with the current situation with root, I just though that if a well known developer like cyanogen thinks that its a bug that maybe the readers of xda might want to discuss his possible ratonale for such a statement, then again that may not have been what he was trying to say and got it misrepresented by the media. Instead I saw nothing but irrelevent and pointless posts. For a second I thought this was gizmodo or engadget.
Thank you again. Its good to know that xda has readers who actually know what they are talking about and not just the average troll.

Ehh...well at least they issued a statement about the rumors. I'm hoping this "Status Report" comes out soon.
Is it really necessary to post a new thread when there are three that have already been posted?
Edit: My intent was not to be an asshole or a douche, or to be "everything that is wrong with XDA." my apologies to the OP if I came off that way.

Yea, totally different thread. And since my other post was such a joke, I would assume no one is looking at it to see the rebuttal from Samsung, so this thread is perfectly valid.
@Kevin, you said there were 3 of these threads already, but you were obviously wrong, this is the first thread that is dedicated to Samsung's response, so yes-I do consider you the problem because you didn't even know what you were talking about. Samsung just released this update about an hour or so ago yet you act like it's all over the place, when in fact it wasn't at all.
I swear it's like you guys look for chances to be dicks to people on here.
I'd rather some dude post the same article 10 times in a row than to come in and try to belittle people.
This is the 1st time I have seen it, then again, I didn't read through every topic and every thread to see it...
There are multiple threads on the exact same topic. So it isn't necessary to constantly create new threads everytime a new piece of news comes out.
And did you even look at the link I posted? Samsung's response. An hour before this thread was created.
But I digress. I'm done here.

Yea, I saw your link to the post. Your words were that it had been posted in 3 different threads...which it hadn't actually in any at all. It was posted in an entirely separate thread that may have been about the same subject, but this was an actual response from Samsung-something that almost NEVER happens-worth warranting a new thread IMO and others I am sure. So what do you expect...are we supposed to go to every thread and read every post to see if someone has said something before? It's one thing to check for duplicate threads, but to actually go and read every post in every thread? You were trying to be a **** by calling out the OP, but your response to him was 100% false. You failed.
So by saying there were already threads in existence, even one which quotes Samsung's response... That is false?
it would help if you guys would just ignore the BS being said by members that just want to start ****... EA11 is ready for the Epic, but I cant say why it hasnt been rolled out...

You tried to come off like the exact same Samsung reply had been posted already 3x's, so yes-that is false. Explain to me why someone would go to the other threads about the rumor, see everyone mocking it and blowing it off as stupid, and then decide to check the thread again later, just for kicks you think? If 934 people had already seen the other thread, why would they have any reason to go back to it again?...right, because they wouldn't. That's why this one needed to be separate and on it's own so those 934 people could see there was an update and response from Samsung.
I'm pretty sure people are revisiting this thread to see all the bickering going on...
But like I said before, I'm done here.

Wow. I know reposts are annoying to a lot of people, but I tend to not be so uptight because one or two reposts every few days on an important subject which sometimes cite different source material doesn't seem so bad. And besides, it may actually be the first time some other guy is seeing it.
But why do I have to go through pages of comments which are all belittling the OP? You sir, did not need to post, as the guy right above you had already mentioned this is old news - why do we need this done more than once? If you don't like reposts, move on, there's no reason we should have pages of useless hypocritical comments in a thread which someone else might find to be useful if not for all the trash.
Also, have you ever tried to search for a URL to see if it's already been posted?
Try it for yourself:
http://phandroid.com/2011/06/13/mot...r-bootloader-policy-and-image-in-the-process/
It doesn't work that well.

why would you search for that link instead of a thread on that topic? there is a handy 'search this forum' button. just type in "unlock bootloader" and see how much pops up. You'll even find the main thread with the petition that lead to this, and the same news is in that thread.
If no threads have a link to this same news article, it is not a repost. People enjoy different perspectives on the same topics.

it's the same damn information. find the thread where people are already talking about it, and provide them with the new link. all the links say the same thing though. absolutely no need for a new thread for each link.
Wow at forum mentality. I understand people like organization, but some people are a little over the top.

I guess everyone is just a little groggy and annoyed that we keep hearing about an unlocked boot loader or news of a boot loader and boot loaders with HTC and all those great news for phones other than the ATRIX.
Our phone is suppose to be a flagship, but it feels like we're playing second fiddle to other phones because of the limitations of the boot loader.
Let's just keep our cool and be patient. If all else fails... We will start a mass riot.... on the internet of course =] DDOS AND ALL THAT FUN STUFF.

Everyone is brave with words on here huh? You're a big man because you can shoot someone down with words huh? I bet if you said what you said to the guy who started this thread in person, he would take you down a notch. Don't try to be Billy Bada$$ on here with your words. Be a man and speak your opinion in a polite manner. I would have never thought to talk to someone like that because they started a simple little repeat thread.

Hehe, this kind of makes me laugh. Why? Here, lemme 'splain:
This is the Interenet. It has Forums. In every single one of those forums, people post the same things, over and over. Repeatedly. In ever single one of those forums, there are forum rules. In every single one of those forums, those rules get ignored. In every single one of those forums, someone posts about how there are rules and that idiot n00bs should use the search function.
What's the point of all this? That it doesn't matter. To borrow a quote, "This has all happened before, and it will happen again." The ass pointing out to the n00b to use the search function doesn't need you to tell him he's being an ass any more than I need to tell you that it's pointless. And even if THAT n00b starts to use the search function, some OTHER n00b will be along shortly posting the same thing. This is how the internet works. And until ALL anonymity goes away, that's just how it's going to be. Seriously, don't get worked up over it. Just realize to yourself that there's another repeat post that's going to be criticized and move along to the next post. Or answer the n00bs question (as I find treating the n00bs question as if it's the first one ever REALLY annoys those that get worked up over them )

photochrome on 10.5.10

Is there a way for me to enable this? Will a backup of the camera app work?

Lol which one? Do you mean this: https://forum.xda-developers.com/oneplus-8-pro/how-to/guide-photochrom-filter-enabler-t4112519
The thread was locked as the op never posted a link to the magisk module.
The other thread discussed two ways to get photochrome back the non root way doesn't work (I tried).
Sorry if you think I am lazy and that it's a shame that I am a senior member. I have already looked at every section here for it and haven't found any viable way.
I just find it strange that you would exert any energy in replying to my post even though you weren't going to help in any way and in fact started acting rude for no reason. Like if you don't know then don't bother posting, it's that simple and quite embarrassing for you.

Did you find the link to fix the photochrome? I tried looking for a guide to fix it, but can't find one.
I have the in2020 Chinese version with oxygen os as well.

Actually at the time of posting initially it wasn't locked. I don't come on XDA to check on threads when I don't need to. It's a lot quieter these days. I have an actual job to do...
Plus to answer your second question, I would rather exert energy advising someone to do something themselves instead of me doing it for them. Especially when it's just a case of looking..it aids the growth of XDA in a positive way instead of the same questions being asked 100 times.
Bottom line is the locked thread is a thread based on what you need, the OP has an XDA account so why not ask them? Or look through Magisk??
Someone not looking for something for you isn't rude btw it's calling out laziness, that's an observation, nothing rude about it.
In fact I find you talking to me like I'm your employee to me! Is rude.
I'm not doing this back and forth anymore with you, read the rules of XDA, searching is one of the top suggestions as most information is out there.

Yes, there was no download link for the magisk module, no matter what anyone says. Moderator closed the thread due to that fact. There was NEVER a download link provided. Don't let one bad apple who likes to run their mouth discourage you. It's ok to ask a question. It's ok to not be able to find an answer. It's OUR responsibility to provide help, especially a senior member to another member, n00B or vet of xda.
I'm on in11aa and 10.5.10 disabled photochrom for me

You could not be more wrong.
I advised that there was a thread, the work has obviously been done. The thread was a placeholder whilst it was uploading.
If you think that asking an obvious question is the right thing to do on XDA then you're mistaken.
Asking a question is fine yes but to say it's "our responsibility" to answer? No you're bang on wrong.
If someone knows an answer then yes provide it, but don't make the mistake of thinking that XDA members are obligated to because no one is, it's out of the goodness of their heart, nothing more.
And lol I'm not a bad apple. I've committed years to helping users on XDA, I don't have to prove myself to anyone. Take a look at my previous posts and guides which there had been hundreds of.
The short answer is:
The chap who set the placeholder will have the answer. If not then there is no answer, perhaps downgrade.
As for someone searching instead of you finding it yourself.
Take a little look at this video
one plus again fooled us, they added a software filter which simulates like infrared photography, that too in outdoors, and it uses 48 mp main camera. So if you want to get 5 mp IR camera functional by root and props, #Dont_update_to_10.5.11.
