Am facing the same problem buddy. The phone is amazing but as Viber and Fring are not working on this phone, am thinking to re-sell this phone and buy a Samsung phone. If anyone can get a solution for this issue, it would be great.

I think there must be some solution to this. Hope this forum helps.

Hi, this is Viber's rep.
Do you guys use stock or custom ROM?
In addition, please check: http://bit.ly/xMDuVw for possible solutions.
Thanks!

Its a stock ROM (i.e. its come with the phone) , Android 4.1.2

Please note that Viber does not officially support your device yet, and that may be the reason for the problems you are experiencing. Here is the full list of officially supported devices: http://helpme.viber.com/Knowledgeba...roid-supported-with-viber-system-requirements
We are continuously working to adapt Viber to more and more devices, and we hope to make your device fully compatible soon. When we have news, we'll let you know.

Would rooting and using CyanogenMod help?

We (Viber) cannot officially recommend this.
In some devices, Viber cannot "handle" the microphone (since we don't fully support that device), causing Viber not to recognize the phone's microphone properly. That is probably the reason that Viber cannot transmit your sound to the other side. We discussed this issue in detail with our users in this thread on XDA Forums: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?p=25865775#post25865775
Please note that in that thread, a workaround was suggested *by a user* (and not officially by us) that seemed to have solved the problem for Galaxy S+S2 users.

How ever , in Offcial displays and websites show us "with a 1.4GHz quad-core processor at its heart, missing only the ability to make calls."
though it is Android 4.1, they cancel the function of making call. For fear that galaxy camera would impact the selling of S III.
>>>>>>>>>Network 4G、3G , HSPA+ 21Mbps (Not include Gsm communication)
Is it the problem of hardware ? Seach the words "call" in the web ,many replies show that they are confused the cancel of call function.
Don't worry, I or someone else in these forums will hack its core and make sure that we can make calls with it.
The galaxy camera CANNOT make calls.......It's just a camera with android on it.........you can put a 3G or 4G enabled sim on it to use its data(like the iPad),and NOT make calls......If you are interested in buying a phone with a good camera....wait for the Nokia Lumia phones with Pureview
Also S-ON/S-OFF are terms only for HTC devices......it's sort of their way to prevent access to the NAND

The reason that works is because it shares a modem with a device that can make phone calls. I'm not saying this camera doesn't. I'm saying don't go flashing that modem.
I have a galaxy camera inbound next week. Expect some threads in original development and development from me. I will be releasing Heimdall One-Click and CASUAL for this device shortly after I get ahold of it. I will also film some XDATVs on it. Then I will send it to Josh Groce at MobileTechVideos.com to get a JTAH flash on it.
I'm very excited to see what this thing can do
It can be done on a very simple way using CM10 : by enabling in build.prop the phone functions and using a Bluetooth headset. However, I think CM10 with Galaxy Camera is a no go, as all the main features are in TouchWiz on this device.
The harder method would be to modify the build.prop to let you make phone calls and then install the dialer&contacts apps .apk from S3 or Note 2. Here will be some compatibility issues, but they could be solved. The only thing you will need is a Bluetooth headset, which will run as speaker and mic.
Samsung can't remove the phone features in Android, just they can disable these functions, which we will enable again .
L.E.: The modem should not be a problem, because this device can receive 3G data for Internet via microSIM, correct?
just gonna state the obvious
Could you just use Skype/Google voice (us)
Would this not work? (Maybe need to grab apks as not supported) but wouldn't that work?

Yes, that will work. It's running Android and that's the only real requirement for those apps. It will probly also support Google+ Hangouts. Native phone calls are a different story though.

Surely you could make Voip calls on it. The device has a speaker, a microphone and data connectivity via Wifi or 3g/4g. You might look silly making calls on a camera but if you paired that with a Bluetooth adapter, then you'd be in business.

I wouldn't care about looking silly, but it would be a perfect device for holidays (or small get-outs and concerts/events). You run around making pictures all day, making very occasional phonecalls and whatsapping/skyping a bit in between .. if this device had call-capability I could leave my $600 smartphone at home and worry about only one expensive device in my pocket.
Besides, I'd laugh my ass off at people looking at me making a phonecall with this haha
The "what the ?!" faces will be priceless
The mic placement is no good for making traditional phone calls, the call quality will be terrible I think. I was really hoping this thing could make calls, I basically only use apps on my nexus 7 now and I only need a phone to take photos and make calls, this could have been it.

Hi,
This is a member of the Viber R&D Team.
Which Viber version do you have? Did you try to uninstall>reinstall?
Viber does not officially supports custom ROMs yet so that might be the problem... :/
Please feel free to let us know your thoughts, questions and comments, we'd be happy to assist.
Thanks,

Hi,
I'm David from Viber. I'm here to help
It could be that the network you are connected to is blocking Viber's traffic.
1. First, please try uninstalling and reinstalling Viber when connecting to a few different WiFi networks (in order to pinpoint the source of the problem). What are the results?
2. Also, please make sure the following ports are enabled ("forwarded") on your routers or firewalls:
TCP: 5242 + 4244
UDP: 5243 + 9785
(if you are not sure how to enable ports, you may contact your router manufacturer or your Internet Service Provider)

Three is a problem with viber call on LG G2 ..it always says : viber stopped working (( on viber call onl))
Hi,
Firstly, please check that your 3G, 4G and/or Wi-Fi internet connection is strong and stable.
Secondly, you can try restarting your phone and try to place a Viber call again.
If you continue experiencing issues after checking the steps above, you can uninstall/reinstall Viber. Please note that this will delete your call and message history. For instructions on how to back up your messages before uninstallation, please read here:

Hi, I'm writing to you to address a problem I have been having for a while now. When I speak on the phone and the speaker is off, the other person hears themself echo. It works fine when the speaker is on but when the speaker is on everyone hears your conversation.
and,
My friend has the same phone (LG G2 D802) as me and we were speaking on Viber and again without the speaker on it was echoing for the both of us. When we both turned on our speakers it started making a static like sound. Oddly enough when we turned off the speaker both the static sound and the echoing stopped. It was weird but i dont want to have to turn the speaker on off everytime and even when i do it doesnt work everytime.
My Device: LG G2 D802 (Android 4.4.2)
A support agent will need to get some more information from you so that we can investigate further. Please open a support ticket here: http://bit.ly/1aOwGy2

[Q] SGH-i337M - Using mspy app - call recordings dont work (have kitkat 4.4.2 & Root)
Hi All,
Im using the app in the Galaxy S4 SGH-i337m to record calls, but I can hear only the person who receives the call (I mean the person with the mspy app installed in the device).
Is there any way to change the configuration (Probably installing a ROM or patch) to make the recording calls through mspy.com available?
This device is same as Canadian and Mexico Models. I have used this app in other phones and works perfectly all call recordings are working 100% fine.
This might be a dumb question but I dont know how to figure this out, been reading a lot and trying to find out, like I mention in subject, this phone has kitkat 4.4.2 and is rooted, all other features of Mspy works fine but the call recording is not, and is pretty much the most important feature of the application.
Please help me to resolve this issue!!

Currently there are 2 ways of the conversation to be recorded: directly from the phone line and through the microphone of the device. In first case – all parties of the conversation will be recorded in a high-quality.
In second case – the recording is executed through the microphone which is usually situated in the bottom part of the phone and it can clearly record only the voice of the target device’s owner, but the other party may not be such clear. It means that the microphone “hears” only the echoes of sounds from the phone’s speaker, which is situated in the top part of the phone. It leads to the low-quality or one-sided recordings.
The possibility to record through the phone line is determined by the manufacturer and their policy. It means that in many countries (especially in EU) it is forbidden by the law to secretly perform a recording of the phone conversation. Therefore, many manufacturers are restricting this option from the firmware of the phone. It means that some of manufacturers still keep this option for phones, which will be used in countries without such law restrictions, and the others block this feature in firmware “just in case”.
In some cases there is a possibility to replace the official firmware of the phone on other official one and activate the option to record phone conversations (the localization of the phone may be kept). Moreover, it’s possible to find the alternative (unofficial) firmware with activated option of recording designed by freelancers. It is possible to install some special patches for some of phone models which will enable the option of conversation recording.
After thorough researches it was concluded that your particular target device will not have the possibility to record calls and this problem may not be resolved from our side due to those hardware issues (which were previously stated). You can make a research on your own and find the appropriate firmware for your target device; it may resolve your problem. However, we cannot take the responsibility for those researches and provide any guarantees.
Please accept our apologies.

You gave us very little information to go on. Which makes it rather hard to even guess at what is going on.
At a minimum, pertinent details would include: what app are you using for the video call, what your signal strength was, how often does it fail e.g. always, infrequently, in weak signal conditions, when calling iphones, et cetera. Do a speed test to see how much capacity your data link has.
Backup your system and revert to the original 900T firmware. Does that resolve the issue? What version of 900F firmware do you have? Did you have any errors when flashing the foreign firmware to your 900T?

Thank you for responding.
I'm using the 3g video call (native)
The video call always fails (it says "the call was canceled).
The original G900T firmware does not support video call as far as i know. (T-mobile blocked video calls)
My operator does support video calls (i've checked it in another device)
I'm using phoenix ROM ver. 3,
But when i installed the ROM, I couldnt install the modem, so i think that my modem is still the original one.
When i tried to install the modem, odin said "fail(auth)" on the file "aboot".
Maybe the modem cause this problem?
And why can't i install the new modem?
The ROM works great except this issue.
Thanks again.
A cursory search shows that the built in video call feature is proprietary, fails for many people and isn't much used - at least not compared to the myriad and more popular video call apps e.g. Hangouts, Skye, et al.
The Samsung video call app apparently only works if you are calling another Samsung phone that has the feature as well and you didn't tell us if that is the case for you. You also need a 3G signal with sufficient speed. You didn't make a speed test or tell us your network settings.. so we don't know if that is an issue or not. You say that your carrier supports this feature, but didn't tell who your carrier is. And you apparently had issues, Odin errors when flashing your custom ROM which may also affect this. And there is no mention in the support thread for your custom ROM whether this feature is supported or of people reporting that it works for that ROM.
That is just a start, it would be easy to add another half dozen potential obstacles to our list as well. The point is not to give you a hard time, but to reiterate that you haven't provided nearly enough information to begin to troubleshoot this. There are many reasons why it could fail. A search would show you that a lot of people have problems with the Samsung app. Which probably explains why most people use Hangouts or Skype which are more reliable video call apps.
If you prefer the Samsung app for some reason, all I can suggest is that you check the potential issues that I cited. And to provide a lot more details, so that someone reading this thread has something to work with if they endeavor to help you.
Hope that helps.
