[ROOT][TOOL][WIN] Google Glass Root - Glass General

I did not find the exploit. The exploit itself goes to Bin4ry, but it had to be modified and tweaked a little bit, and the credit for that goes to Saurik. Please ensure that "Debug Mode" is on. It is located under "Device Info". Please also ensure that you have the android sdk and adb drivers installed on your computer. For help with that, go here. Unzip the attatched files and run "glassroot.bat". I hope this helps you root your Google Glass!

well its okay, Unlock bootloader works for me

Well, I get this on my screen:
Now unlock your device and confirm the restore operation.

I was able to root my XR14 Glass using a variant of Saferoot. using a Mac. I'm about to return my Glass, so I won't be developing on this device, but there's another usable exploit out there.
What you need to do is to remove the "busybox -install" operation as I don't think there's much value there.

Official root
You guys to realize that there is an official Google-released rooting binary, right? It does void your warranty, but it also should be reliable.

I posted a question a few days ago asking how to unroot and revert back to stock. I have a physical phone problem with my device and need warranty repairs.
If I follow your post instr then I will end up with the JB OTA stock image, unrooted with a locked bootloader? If so it's the answer I've been looking for!
Does this work on all versions of nexus s?

It would get your phone to stock 4.1,1 official google image not rooted... as for the bootloader it locks it. But if not you could just use the "fastboot oem lock" comand

A script can accomplish anything that a user can accomplish on their own by doing the same commands. If there is a hardware or software error on the device that is preventing it from working the manual way then the script won't work either.

Hi ... yes I understand what you're saying. My phone's problem is possibly the micro USB port, seems to be working poorly. Phone charges but my PC and laptop suddenly don't recognise the device when connected by cable. Bear in mind I did drop my phone in muddy grass (ports got mud-filled) three days earlier, causing latent damage only now seen.
SO b4 I take it for warranty repair need to unroot etc but all methods required a working USB cable ... this method seems to be the answer I need. You agree?
You still need usb for this... you have to have usb debugging on....copy the folder to your computer and click run. It will do the rest with a few keys

So...I have not fully understood the OP's method. I foolishly assumed this procedure didn't require USB connection to my PC (which does not work anymore because PC no longer recognises my device via cable after some likely water damage).
Any idea how I can revert back to stock JB or ICS with a locked bootloader unrooted etc WITHOUT connecting to my PC via cable?? I really need to get this fixed under warranty.
Thanks in advance.
it says "waiting for device" and stops there...why??what can i do??
Learn how to do it the manual way and stop with these IMHO stupid damn toolkits.
Not directed at you or anybody but if you're not capable of installing drivers and unlocking with fastboot etc you have no business to actually have root access/unlocked bootloader etc.
any one can provide me mirrror for both cannot download from 4shared

Sorry if maybe i'm wrong asking here but i need this file to root my nexus 4 via the toolkit made by wugfresh. I just unlocked my device but after an uninstall/reinstall of the toolkit i lost all the files needed to go ahead with the second step of rooting. I downloaded them manually but i cannot find the one in the title of the thread. Probably due to a problem with the Goo.im server.
If i try to use the Wug updater, it says hash mismatch. Could you pls upload it in another server? Thanks in advance for the help
Same problem over here. None of the files needed can find on the internet.
Any luck anyone, I'm looking for this file as well...damn goo.im

The device offline thing usually happens when you didn't accept the security warning (on the phone) when you plug into the computer. This will come up every time, even with computers you have used before, unless you also check the box telling it not to ask you again.

Kingo uses an "attack server" methodology based on the model of phone discovered. So, what you are looking for might be downloaded rather than initially present in the kingo PC .exe file (even though that .apk file is unlikely to be different from device to device)
If you want to search for it though, remember that .apk files are just a special form of .zip files, so the bytes you are looking for should start with a PKZIP magic number file header.

I thought I still had the superuser apk from rooting with kingo. I had lost root on a tf300t tablet a while ago and just got around to rerooting with kingo this time. the problem is that I already had all my root apps installed before rooting. what I see now is the superuser from chainfire. I plan on unrooting, factory reset and reroot sometime over the weekend - I cant do it before then. I will keep watch and get you the file if you still need it then. I am sorry for getting your hopes up prematurely.

Hi @icedventimocha
I guess I answered this question in the different thread. If you still have the downloadable Kingo installer app ("android_root.exe"), then what you are looking for is packed up inside there. My post gives (link above) gives you instructions how to unpack it.
Hopefully this response is not too late.

Root without having to unlock bootloader

I successfully rooted my shield without unlocking bootloader using towelroot. When you install the apk and run it it says it will reboot in 15 seconds, but it will take a little longer than that for some reason so just let it sit for a while. After it reboot I had the SuperSU from chainfire's website downloaded. Use root explorer to open the zip. Go to common folder and install the apk. Worked for me.towelroot.com. download.chainfire.eu/447/SuperSU/UPDATE-SuperSU-v1.99r4.zip.

Me too. But it is very easy to unroot through the SuperSU app. I would just make sure you undo anything you change system wise before unrooting like uninstalling busybox.

I believe Geohot said it should work on any phone with a kernel date before June 3. Shouldn't hurt to give it a try. It will either root or it won't. I think the Motorola community has been able to unlock some bootloaders after using this root method. Check the forums for you particular device.

Hey having a bit of problems hoping someone can help? Like a previous user mentioned Towelroot hangs after clicking 'make it rain'. A few minutes go by and I get a 'not responding' prompt. If I click 'wait', a few Kore minutes go by then same thing again. If I click 'close' the device reboots without root.
I'm at a loss for what to do next.. Is it recommended doing this in safe mode? 4.4.2.
Cheers
