Anyone that didn't replace it still has it on their phone, so the OP's request seems reasonable. ( @icedventimocha I replaced mine, so I can't help without starting over and re-rooting )

Kingo uses an "attack server" methodology based on the model of phone discovered. So, what you are looking for might be downloaded rather than initially present in the kingo PC .exe file (even though that .apk file is unlikely to be different from device to device)
If you want to search for it though, remember that .apk files are just a special form of .zip files, so the bytes you are looking for should start with a PKZIP magic number file header.

It should as long as it's the one that installs when you root with kingo.

I thought I still had the superuser apk from rooting with kingo. I had lost root on a tf300t tablet a while ago and just got around to rerooting with kingo this time. the problem is that I already had all my root apps installed before rooting. what I see now is the superuser from chainfire. I plan on unrooting, factory reset and reroot sometime over the weekend - I cant do it before then. I will keep watch and get you the file if you still need it then. I am sorry for getting your hopes up prematurely.

Hi @icedventimocha
I guess I answered this question in the different thread. If you still have the downloadable Kingo installer app ("android_root.exe"), then what you are looking for is packed up inside there. My post gives (link above) gives you instructions how to unpack it.
Hopefully this response is not too late.

Closed due to incompetence and I don't need it anymore.

Sorry if maybe i'm wrong asking here but i need this file to root my nexus 4 via the toolkit made by wugfresh. I just unlocked my device but after an uninstall/reinstall of the toolkit i lost all the files needed to go ahead with the second step of rooting. I downloaded them manually but i cannot find the one in the title of the thread. Probably due to a problem with the Goo.im server.
If i try to use the Wug updater, it says hash mismatch. Could you pls upload it in another server? Thanks in advance for the help
Same problem over here. None of the files needed can find on the internet.
Any luck anyone, I'm looking for this file as well...damn goo.im

Android Rooting on AT&T SM-N900A new OTA update

Okay so I am brand new to the Android OS. I have been an iPhone user for about 5 years and jailbreaking was such a simple task and I fully understood how that worked. I'm glad I made the switch to android because it does everything a jailbroken iPhone does. I just found out about this rooting stuff. How does it work and how can I do it with Note 3 on AT&T SM-N900A? I downloaded some new OTA update but I don't know what it means.

Kingo Root is the only current method to root MJ5, its really simple and fast if you chose to do so. Its just a program on you pC that you run and it will give you root and reboot your phone and your done.

RdlV is for versions prior to your MJ5. Don't even think about using it!
Kingo Root works well but is suspected to be malware (search for details) and all links to it have been banned from xda until kingo devs prove it is safe. That doesn't seem to be happening very quickly.

so,, for the OP.. just back out of this and go into the ATT update thread and folllow the instructions there (i basically posted it above, but a cleaner "how to" is in there)

You will brick your device if you use RDLV.
As far as I know, Kingo will work. However, due to it sending our IMEI number to China, I don't wanna do it yet.

They said the newest Kingo update removed those calls back home and that they won't be doing that anymore. I don't know anything about them sending IMEI info to China, but supposedly the connections to their servers in China was to download the updates as the program rooted the phone.
I was skeptical about kingo root but after doing some research I went ahead and did it and everything seems to be fine. Yes, it takes your imei but no one really knows what they do with it if anything. All rooting is, is finding exploits and utilizing them to gain root access. In all actuality, you never truly know the intentions of any new developers that come on the scene.

MI9 to MJ5 while rooted
Hi Zug
I tried the method with survival mode and disabling superuser and the official mode in Wanam to try to go from MI9 to MJ5 ......everything is fine until it reboots but always fails at 27% point of installation. ... trotted it 7 or so times. .... Same result. After the fail it reboots and I get the message "update interrupted".

I remember reading about users having the same issue with the instalation stalling at the same percentage every time. It has something to do with you changing something (can be a number of things) in the system folder. Think about it, did you change the boot animation? There is a thread talking about it, I'll see if I can't find it for ya.

I finally solved 2 problems (the installation problem and the sudden failure of Kies3 to see my phone) by going to recovery, doing a wipe data and cache and factory reset. I then re-rooted using the De La Vega method, disabled root and checked "survival mode in SuperSU Pro and then accepted the update to MJ5. This time it made it past the 27% installation point and completed. The I re-enabled root in SuperSU Pro launched titanium backup and batch restored apps and all is well. So I am finally rooted and on MJ5 without having to use Kingo. Thanks for your help.

Just recently got my note 3 on Wednesday. Was running beans build on my s3, so I guess my question is where to start for root, I see a lot aunt safestrap and otas... as soon as I cut my phone on out of the box it updated to 4.4.2

I rooted mine with towelroot. You will have to sideload the app. Load it onto your computer and transfer it over or load it onto your sd card. Then use apkinstaller to open the apk file and run it. It's too bloody easy. Where do we go from there? I'd like to flash some custom ROMs.

Root without having to unlock bootloader

I successfully rooted my shield without unlocking bootloader using towelroot. When you install the apk and run it it says it will reboot in 15 seconds, but it will take a little longer than that for some reason so just let it sit for a while. After it reboot I had the SuperSU from chainfire's website downloaded. Use root explorer to open the zip. Go to common folder and install the apk. Worked for me.towelroot.com. download.chainfire.eu/447/SuperSU/UPDATE-SuperSU-v1.99r4.zip.

Me too. But it is very easy to unroot through the SuperSU app. I would just make sure you undo anything you change system wise before unrooting like uninstalling busybox.

I believe Geohot said it should work on any phone with a kernel date before June 3. Shouldn't hurt to give it a try. It will either root or it won't. I think the Motorola community has been able to unlock some bootloaders after using this root method. Check the forums for you particular device.

Hey having a bit of problems hoping someone can help? Like a previous user mentioned Towelroot hangs after clicking 'make it rain'. A few minutes go by and I get a 'not responding' prompt. If I click 'wait', a few Kore minutes go by then same thing again. If I click 'close' the device reboots without root.
I'm at a loss for what to do next.. Is it recommended doing this in safe mode? 4.4.2.
Cheers
How did you get this to work? I downloaded tr.apk v3, installed it, opened the app up and after clicking make it ra1n it says my phone is not supported?

[Q] Which s/w version is recommended for rooting the SGH-i337

I had a rooted S3 SGH-I747 with Android 4.1.2. I sold it, and now I have a S4 SGH-i337 with Android 4.3.
I just want to root the phone, I am not interested in putting a custom ROM on it -- though maybe in the future.
Should I leave it at 4.3, or is it recommended to put a version of KitKat on it and then proceed to root it?
I did a quick software update check from the phone, but it said there were no updates. Does that mean I'm stuck at 4.3?
Thanks
Mike

So the S4 at 4.3 is not rootable, unless I use the nb1 rootable tar file to make it rootable, is that correct assumption?
Apparently I need to read more on the subject. I was hoping it would be as easy as it was on my S3. I guess the difference is that the S3 was rootable, while the S4 requires additional work to make it rootable. Of course correct me if i'm wrong, as I'm probably still not getting it.
Thanks

Can I reflash the same firmware over itself? I flashed my phone using the i337 nb1 rootable tar file you linked me to.
I ran into a problem, long story, it's in another thread I started.
Anyhow, everything was working and had it successfully rooted and my apps reinstalled. Now I'm locked out thanks to a glitch in a app called Unlock with WiFi. I have entered the wrong password 35 times and it still will not ask me if I want to reset/wipe the phone. Isn't it suppose to ask you after so many attempts?
The problem is I set a one letter password in the app, I mean it is convenient and the app allowed me too. Also it worked fine on my S3.
I did the same for the S4, but apparently with this firmware version, the lock screen doesn't like one letter passwords. If I type less than four characters and press enter, it erases what I typed. So it makes it impossible to enter my one letter password. If I type four characters or more, followed by return, I get Wrong Password.
At this point I give up, I just want to start over. I sent an email to the developer yesterday morning, but he has not responded.
Thanks again
Mike
