Using a T-Mobile SGH-M919 Galaxy S4 on AT&T mnvo? - AT&T Samsung Galaxy S 4 Q&A, Help & Troubleshootin

Greetings,
Recently I read in posts here that everyone seemed to think it was possible to use the T-Mobile Galaxy S4 on the AT&T network if it were unlocked since the bands appear to be the same.
I purchased a new T-Mobile Galaxy S4, Unlocked it, rooted it, set the proper APN settings for Red Pocket Mobile, and registered on the network and guess what?............ NO data connection. I even tried flashing deviants stock rom.
I have tried everything I can think of and still I can not get this phone to give me any data service, only phone service.
I use this same sim card in my other android phones with the same APN settings and it works fine for data.
Has anyone else purchased the T-mobile Galaxy S4 and used it on the AT&T network successfully getting DATA? And how about LTE, or 3g speeds. I get NO data.
If any success on this, please advise. I am getting ready to send it back if I do not get a resolution for this in the next day or two.
And yes I do get data with the T-mobile sim card but it is only 2g in my area (edge).
I posted a similar post over on the T-mobile and it has been 3 days now and there hasn't been one good solution posted yet. Therefore I thought I would go at this from the AT&T forum because a lot of you may be thinking of doing the same thing and there may be someone here that has a solution to my issue that hasn't been reading the T-mobile forum.

Have none of the AT&T users ran to buy the NON locked bootloader T_mobile version of this phone?

I bought my GS4 today in anticipation that it will be unlocked eventually and the radio/modem files will be merged to be able to use it on both networks. I suspect numerous user are just waiting and watching for the same thing. I have been reading both the TMO and ATT threads just like you.

why would we do that?

Why did you do all that?
Buyslake,
Greetings. You did not have to do all that. I have the T-Mo S4 SGH M919. The back of the brown box it came in lists all the frequencies including the LTE bands that cover ATT's radio frequencies include TMo's and more.
You'll see that it has ATT's bands as well.. that is, bands XVII (700) and bands IV and 1, i.e. 1700/2100 MHz(AWS).
That's exactly why I bought phone. Two days after buying it full price, I used the app called UnlockUnit to unlock it from TMo's network and I just put in my ATT sim card. Worked like a charm... on 4G, LTE, what have you. No issues. Hard for me to comprehend why yours is problematic.
Regards!!

Only thing I can think of is use the secret codes to get into the service menu and check the radio channels are turned on correctly, like the guy above it should have worked unless the red company is using some odd frequency.

I did, and I discovered that I'm getting faster LTE speeds than my friend's AT&T S4. He only lives two blocks from me.

This is way off topic for this thread but you can go to this link it see if you can find answers there:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2266548&highlight=mirror
There is a discussion about the issue and other links for you to check within the thread. If you have any more questions make sure you search for the answers first, and if you can't find them post them in the thread(s) listed above. Good luck.

I can almost assure you the APN is incorrect. What are your settings

im getting a t-mobile s4 tomorrow and i have at&t service i was planning on unlocking it will i have a problem with data as well i was planning on manually entering the mobile network settings
i 2 have been searching and also trying to see if i can flash the stock at&t rom to the t-mobile s4

Did you get an answer?
I now have the same problem for a phone I got the unlock code from T-Mobile for. Phone and text work, but everytime we try to pull data, something from T-Mobile keeps disabling data mode.
Did you ever get a straight answer? I can't get the phone to let me edit the APN settings.

tmobile s4 on att go phone h20 or redpocket, apn that is in the phone gets reverted back to old wap.cingular apn. DATA and MMS

Make sure "Mobile Data" is ticked/checked on under Mobile Networks.
Data Roaming should be off or unchecked.
make sure under username and password is blank . you may see the word "NONE" written , just erase it as that would be main reason for not allowing data on redpocket. but you should really just get att gophones 60 dollar plan . redpocket is an att mvno but service is terrible still . just as bad as tmobile. if your data still doesnt work after all that it might just be you live way out in bufu land . sorry

I see that this is an old thread, but very relevant to my current situation. I just won an S4 t-mobile (M919) on eBay and plan to activate it on Cricket (AT&T network). I see from the above posts that some have experienced problems getting mobile data while others have no issues. I'd be interested to hear about any recent experience. The phone arrives tomorrow and I'd like to be prepared

As long as it's unlocked or you have a carrier compatible sim card it should work. You just need the correct apn settings i use the att s4 on straight talk with att compatible sim. Great service. My I337 is unlocked and I had a tmobile compatible sim card from straight talk but tmobile service isn't strong in my area also no tmobile towers anywhere closse. So i switched.

Thanks. As an aside, we switched from Straight Talk to Cricket. Better price, more data, and no data cutoff (ie, just throttled) when reaching 2.5GB.
We're buying the M919 and selling the I337 because AT&T has locked the bootloader which prevents the installation of TWRP recovery software. That's a deal breaker for us

Today I received my T-mobile S4 (M919) along with an unlock code provided by eBay seller. Everything worked well. When plugging in my Cricket (AT&T prepaid carrier) SIM card I entered the code as requested and immediately got voice and text, but no mobile data. There were no APN settings, so I entered those as provided by Cricket which gave me 4g data. I then proceeded to install TWRP recovery software and root the phone. That also went well. There is only one remaining issue of which I'm aware. Titanium Backup claims insufficient space when doing a backup (to extSDcard) This error is serious because I have 24 GB available on the extSDcard. I wonder if I need to run SDFix app? So far writing to extSDcard has not been a problem since I can make Nandroid backups to it and also save pics to it.

If I'm not mistaken I think you need a tmobile sim card for tmobiles WiFi calling. And I'm sure you checked but are you positive you have enough space on extsd?

Thanks. I discovered the error with Titanium Backup. I had to run the SDFix app to fix it. It was a question of write permissions. Yes, I agree you would probably need a T-mobile SIM for WiFi calling. I just found out where to disable it since it was mostly a nuisance error in Notifications.
One pleasant surprise is that apparently the T-mobile version (4.4.4) supports HotSpot/Tethering whereas the AT&T version (4.4.2) did not.

ATT EDGE and 3G connection question

I have a 8525 w/ the retail WM6 and i am not sure which radio version. (if someone tells me how to i will)
I live in Fresno,CA 93611 zip which according to ATTs site is 3G signal.
But i only get the E with the box around it.... i have never seen a G
I think this means i am connected to EDGE and not 3G.
Is there anyway to force 3G and not allow EDGE? 3G is mainly the reason i upgraded from my 8125.
When i use a speed tester I get 154kbs download and 85 upload which seems to be EDGE speeds.
if anyone has some advice please let me know.
thanks guys
You might have a old SIM card that does not have 3G compatability!
hmm okay, how would i be able to tell...
mine says 64K smartchip
X cingular then the IME number
would i need this card... cuz this is not the one i have

The speeds you indicated are definately Edge. 3G (HSDPA) will get you about 4x that speed. But forget about the SIM in this case. It's not the problem. Sounds like you have an "orange" SIM which will work just fine on a 3G network. All you'd need is a device that supports it (and the 8925 does), a data plan, and adequate signal strength. If the signal is weak you will drop down to Edge.
Are you on a custom ROM or a stock AT&T ROM? If custom most have an option in Comm Manager to enable / disable 3G. Some also have addon utilities to enable / disable it. I can say that Schap's 4.31 (and every one I've tried for the 8525) will support 3G.
okay i will try the new rom, i am on the stock....
PITA to reinstall all my programs and such but id rather do it now and have 3G to watch TV via ORB on
ill report back after i flash my rom.
thanks
Dude.
It is the SIM card. You need one that says 3G on it, they can be had at walmart even. But if all else fails ask ATT to send you one (they might even do it for free). ATT says that you need a 3G SIM to get 3G signal, all I know is I started getting 3G after I changed the SIM card and I was on the new WM6 ATT ROM.
Flashing your radio or your ROM will not fix this problem.
HSPDA enabling needs a 3G SIM to work.
That said, go ahead and flash Schaps 4.31 ROM... it is sweet and stable and has most everyting you need in it.
And please tell us if you got 3G with that old 64K SIM card.... that would be cool to know (although pretty surprising).
okay got it flashed buyt still only EDGE
i will be going down to my att shop tomorrow and trying to get them to upgrade my SIM
thanks guys

I'm on the same SIM as you described above. I've had this very SIM from long before I was on a 3G capable device, and before 3G was even available from Cingular / AT&T. Every time I've switched phones (never purchased through AT&T by the way) I just pop out the SIM and put it into the new device. Mine works just fine with 3G.
That's why I'm thinking it's not a SIM issue, but maybe an account related issue. The SIM does NOT store anything that enables or disables 3G. That happens on the network side. So I'd just call AT&T and ask them to enable 3G for your account. That should do the trick for you... I'll bet my SIM on it. And if they still want to send you a new SIM - well still no big deal.
I can tell you for 100% you must have a 3G sim card in order for you to be able to access UMTS. The sim will either say it on the front (for older cards) or on the back of the sim card (for the new att sim cards). Either way you must have 3G card. When you get the card and the sim number is updated in att system it will automaticlly activate the 3G code on your line. Thus enabling you to access UMTS.

Don't want to get into a pissing match over something this silly... but I can tell you for 100% that I don't have a 3G SIM card, and I do have 3G and HSDPA service. The SIM contains NO information that determines whether you do or do not have 3G capability. However I will concede that carriers may compel their subscribers to switch SIM's BEFORE they will enable 3G on an account. But the key is that 3G is enabled at the account level, not with a SIM. Again, I have a 3 year old SIM (from before 3G was offered)... I have 3G service.
If you research the SIM, here's what you'll find it contains. SIM cards store network specific information used to authenticate and identify subscribers on the Network, the most important of these are the ICCID, IMSI, Authentication Key (Ki), Local Area Identity (LAI) and Operator-Specific Emergency Number. The SIM also stores other carrier specific data such as the SMSC (Short Message Service Center) number, Service Provider Name (SPN), Service Dialing Numbers (SDN), Advice-Of-Charge parameters and Value Added Service (VAS) applications. None of this dictates whether or not you have 3G access, basically all it's doing is linking your device to an account so you can be billed.
not sure anout the sim yet..
i flash to new rom and still only edge...
I am going to L.A. tomorrow so we will see if it is an area thing... i will call ATT tomorrow and ask them to enable 3G on my account...
thanks guys
I know on my MDA in order for it to even show the E icon instead of the G I had to hack the registry. Surely you have 3G coverage in that area. Install the Schap's Advanced Config. app and turn it on through that.
okay i finally got it on the 3G and H service.... with download ay 458kbps watching live TV from my media server via orb w/o any distortion
thanks guys for the help.
i flashed to schaps wm6 updated my ROM and got a new ATT 3G sim and it works great... probably was a combo of things that were standning in my way...
thanks again
Well it seems as though it was probably the sim to me :0)
I have a 3G sim card if anyone wants it.
whats the difference between 3G and the H
it seems that when i am using the phone for voice it is on 3G
and when i am using data it is the H
actually you both are right, i worked for cingular/at&t the "3g" sim cards do contain information that allows you to access 3g networks the sim card is assigned a number if that number is a "3g" sim it automaticlly makes the nessicary changes to your account however if you can find someone in customer service who knows what they are doing they can change it manually most will not know what to do as the offical at&t procidure to fix that problem is "change sim card" besides just take a trip down to your local at&t store they will give you a new sim for free (a real store not an agent agents do charge for sim cards) oh yea and once you get the new sim enjoy the speed it makes all the trouble you have been through worth wile

[Q] How compatible is the Verizon Samsung S5 with AT&T / T-Mobile?

Anyone put in AT&T and T-Mobile SIM in Verizon Samsung S5?
Are you able to get data working? Which APN settings did you use? 3G, 4G, or LTE?
Would also be interested in this if anybody has an answer.
To make it more simple for anybody that may know what they're talking about, the following are screenshots of supported bands on both devices:

I see some compatible bands, but I'd like to be sure about the extent of compatibility with T-Mobile's 4G HSPA+ and LTE networks (fully compatible, partially, only 3G, etc). Thank you in advance for any responses.

I can confirm that the Galaxy S5 does support AT&T's HPSA+ network, but not their LTE network. However, at least in my area, they seemed to give pretty much the same speed; HPSA+ is quite capable.
That said, it was really just a test to see if the SIM card slot was unlocked since I will be traveling overseas in the near future, and would like the ability to pop in a SIM card from there and use my GS5. It does put a persistent notification up stating that I am not using a supported SIM card, but it doesn't actually prevent it. Note that once a 3rd party SIM card is put in, the APN configuration is unlocked and able to be used. You will need to enter the info manually since current Android versions block the ability of 3rd party programs to update APNs. Unless we happen to get root, then they can automatically update them...I hope we get root.
works on tmobile
I'm currently using tmobile sim in a verizon s5. Everything is working for me. I'm in a rear med 3g area so I get hspa+ speeds for 3g and lte also works. The only thing is that I have to switch network modes to get lte. When I switch I only have access to data until I switch back to 3g/UMTS .

For those of you who got this working, can you explain exactly what you did? The phone is not SIM locked, but it doesn't seem to roam to TMobile or ATT when one of their SIMs in inserted. An Australian SIM, which roams to TMobile when in a Nexus 5, yields the same behavior (no service) in the galaxy S5.
This behavior is in line with other VZW phones I've had -- they work internationally -- but will not roam off of VZW in the US. The phone reverts to "emergency calls only" when a non VZW SIM is used in the US.

On the Verzion s4, I was able to just put in my sim card and and change the mobile setting from cdma to global. To get 4G LTE on t-mobile, I would just add the t-mobile fast apn.
I'm sure this is the same case with the VZN S5

I didn't do anything special with my VZW Galaxy S5. I simply popped in an AT&T SIM, turned the phone back on, and I immediately had voice service. I had to add in the APN info to get data to work, but that's the only thing I had to do.
This is also the same experience I had with my VZW Galaxy S3 and an AT&T SIM.

I wonder if there is something unique about TMobile SIMs (and Foreign SIMs which rely on TMo in the US)? Several of my coworkers have Galaxy S IIIs and none of them can get TMobile (or foreign) SIMs to work.
Here's a screenshot with a TMobile SIM inserted. I went ahead and inputted the APN for TMobile LTE, no dice.
In case anyone is wondering, the phone works in Intl gsm networks, no SIM unlock required.

Does "Clean ESN" matter with newer phones

Due to recent financial issues I may have to let go of my verizon service due to the expenses and get on a family members plan with ATT. This will mean I have the S5 and no way to use it. If I was to sell it would someone be able to use it on verizon still? I know in the past your phone would be flagged and it would no longer be allowed. I wasnt sure if that was still the case with verizons move to SIM cards.
Thanks.
One more question, which prepaid services would work? Any with LTE?

If I was to sell it would someone be able to use it on verizon still? I know in the past your phone would be flagged and it would no longer be allowed. I wasnt sure if that was still the case with verizons move to SIM cards.
Thanks.
One more question, which prepaid services would work? Any with LTE?

Believe there to be a security feature active that you would have to look into before sale to make sure the new owner could use it....
Give this a read HERE.
or cancel your account then it will show as not being an active device.. of course if you have a contract you will have an etf to pay as with most carriers...

Put a dumb phone on the account before you terminate service.
The s5 is gsm unlocked so if u use with att or tmobile itll be fine

if you have any older verizon phone.... activate that on your present line.... then that phone will not be "locked" with a bad esn....
I did still have my GS3, so I just swapped my card in it. Made a call and sent a text. So I guess we'll see.

Not true. It is unlocked, but it does not accept ATT or TMo SIMs. Foreign SIMs work, but only in foreign countries.

Can anyone please verify this? Another question, how do we make it work with ATT or T-Mobile SIM cards?
Thanks in advance!

Incorrect. The Verizon S5 accepts AT&T and T-Mobile SIMS just fine.
Back in the pre-LTE days, Verizon devices that had GSM capabilities were generally only usable on foreign GSM networks (AT&T and T-Mobile were locked out). That's no longer the case and hasn't been for a while now.

OK - well - maybe my VZW S5 is broken in some way, but it won't pick up any signal when I put an active TMobile 4G-LTE SIM in it. It did work fine outside of the US in Australia. I posted a picture of what happens with the TMobile SIM in some other thread. No amount of playing with the APNs / network order / etc. made the TMo SIM work.
EDIT: Here's the pic with a TMobile SIM inserted:

Even with no APNs you should be able to get signal...

Here's my Verizon S5 on Verizon (for comparison's sake so you can see it is the same device):
And here's my Verizon S5 with an active T-Mobile SIM card inserted. It's picking up signal no problem, and that's without editing anything besides switching the phone to GSM/UMTS mode.
The Verizon S5 is unlocked and will work on AT&T and T-Mobile, just like essentially every other Verizon LTE device that has the appropriate GSM bands.

How strange, how'd you get rid of the "This SIM is from an unknown source" notification?

Long press on the notification -> App Info -> Force stop. It has to be done every time the phone is restarted. I switch SIMs so often that I do it without thinking now as soon as the phone starts up. I can take another screenshot with the notification on the screen if needed.
I have to switch back and forth between Verizon, T-Mobile, and AT&T SIMs for work. I've done so for a couple years now, so it's something I have a lot of experience with regarding Verizon devices.

Yeah, I knew you could do the long press thing on each reboot. Wonder why mine won't hop onto TMo. By any chance did you put your TMo/ATT sim in *before* you ever put in a VZW SIM? My phone came with the VZW SIM in it and pre-activated to my account, maybe it is locked somehow?
As for the original question in this thread - yes, "clean ESN" definitely still matters (although it's technically now the IMEI rather than an ESN).
In fact, it matters even more now than it used to. Previously, if you were talking about a Verizon phone, it only mattered for people wanting to use the phone on Verizon. But now there is a shared IMEI blacklist that Verizon is a part of, so a phone with a blacklisted IMEI on Verizon may not work on any major U.S. carrier.

Nope. Activated it on Verizon first when it was brand new.
After starting the phone with the T-Mobile SIM inserted, did you make sure the phone was in Global or GSM/UMTS mode and then select T-Mobile under Settings -> More Networks -> Mobile Networks -> Network operators?

I dont recall it ever finding TMobile in the network operator list. I did change it to GSM. I'll have to try it again.

If the SIM is active, T-Mobile should show up there. It can take a few minutes to show up sometimes, but it should show up eventually. If it's not showing up, there's a problem with the SIM or with the phone. Since you said the phone worked fine in Australia with a foreign SIM, I'd be inclined to think the problem would probably be with the T-Mobile SIM.

I have the same problem, Verizon S5 with bad esn I brought of Craigslist very cheap to use with Tmobile, but mines has a circle in the task bar. I think the imei is blocked because I can take the sim out and pop it into my tmobile note 2 and everything is fine.
hey guys i got that exactly problem on my s5 verizon and i put a gsm of another carrier (viva) and show up that notification... for that signal work it (mobile data) with your SIM CARD you have to add your carrier APN in the settings>more networks>mobile network>access point names> and touch + and there will add your APN configuration and save it and done be sure you have your WI-FI OFF for show your 4G or H+ or Edge be in white color and enjoy it
the only issues i don't know how to remove the notification permanently

How to use on MetroPCS network

I've read through the forums and see that it's possible to use the Verizon note 3 on tmobile network. I want to use mine on the MetroPCS network. My question was is has anyone switched theres from Verizon to metro pcs and if so what are the steps involved?

Answer + another question
Hey there. I'm going to try and answer your question and then ask another related question.
I recently bought a 900v from eBay with the intention of using it on MetroPCS and then in Europe after a few months when I move. I'm currently using an international Note II on MetroPCS which works fine.
To answer: In theory, as far as I know, all you need to do to get your Verizon Note 3 to work on MetroPCS is get a plan and SIM card from them (they will need to register your phone's IMEI to the SIM card since they lock individual SIM cards to individual phones). After this, go to Settings > More networks > Mobile networks and change preferred to 'global'. You will also need to input the proper network name and APN (Settings > More networks > Mobile networks > Access Point Names). From here it should work.
Ok, now my question for whoever might know something about it. Since I bought my Note 3, I went to a MetroPCS store and had them change the registration from my old phone's IMEI to the Note 3. They did that, we switched the SIM and did what I wrote above and voice and text worked, but no data. The guy working there didn't know what to do, so I decided to have him just switch it back to my Note II and I'd take it to the better resourced 'corporate' store later.
In the meanwhile, I rooted and did what I needed to flash JasmineRom 2.4.1. Went fine and everything seemed to work fine. Then I took it to the corporate store. They tested it with a tester SIM first (not locked to a particular device) but couldn't get it to connect to a network and then the same with my SIM (which had worked before at least for voice). I just get the notification: "Phone Activation - This SIM card is from an unknown source."
Does anyone know if the phone has to first be somehow Activated with Verizon before I can change it to global and use other GSM networks? If so, how would I go about doing that as I'm not on Verizon, nor have I ever been. I have a friend who uses Verizon who might be able to help me activate it if really necessary, but if there's another way, do please let me know. If this problem has nothing to do with activation, and there's something else going on, I'm all ears as well. Thanks.
Problem solved for MetroPCS connection.
Just wanted to update that my problem was solved with no more trouble than calling MetroPCS (888 8METRO8) to have them register my old MetroPCS SIM card to my new device (Verizon Note 3). I had already played around with GSM and global modes and had manually input the APN and network name prior to calling. I had also tried to activate using *228 but that didn't seem to work... not sure if that is important but it was something I had done (with the MetroPCS card before calling).
To the OP: did you get yours working?
Edit: I suppose it is also worth mentioning that I didn't have to change any settings and I'm getting 4G LTE on MetroPCS.
So to confirm, it is possible to connect the Verizon note 3 to METROPCS network and get 4G LTE SERVICE. Will I need to adjust APN settings through the phone? Do I have to use a separate program to change those settings?
I'm going today to try to set this up. Thanks for the responses.

Ok everyone I have a question in reguards to using a Verizon Samsung Galaxy Note 3 with Metro PCS. I've been getting the run around from Verizon and Metro. What I've done so far is got Metro PCS to type the Note 3's IMEI number in their computer to activate the phone (like they do with every phone). I put the SIM card in the Note 3, and it said something like "SIM card is from an unknown source" (it's not reading the SIM). The phone wouldn't work. No service despite them activating the Note 3 on my account. They told me to go to metro store, so I did and we tried a new SIM card and everything and it still didnt read it. I keep seeing people say we need to change the APN, but what are we specifically supposed to write in the APN box? Also, I see people saying metro has to do something with the SIM card, what exactly do they have to do? Can someone please help, and please give me the exact steps as to what I have to do to get my Note 3 activated and working with MetroPCS. I havent had a phone to use in days because of this bullcrap please help!

[Q] Using Verizon Galaxy Note 3 International

Can someone Please help me figure out why I cannot get service on my Verizon Galaxy Note 3 when I'm traveling or specifically in India. I thought Verizon Note 3 is world unlocked out of the box!!! Am I wrong?
BACKGROUND:
I have successfully flashed my Verizon Note 3 to Boost Mobile so that means I used a Samsung Galaxy Prevail as my donor phone which means I changed the MEID # of my Note3. I have also successfully rooted the phone and have also installed Beanstown106 leaked version of KK 4.4.2 on the Phone with the latest Safestrap and it works fine as far as I can tell. I used the instructions from the following thread to flash my phone to Boost; just FYI:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2060085
QUESTION:
I try to insert the GSM SIM card for Vodafone carrier and it's unable to connect to network even though I added the correct APN settings. So does this have anything to do with me changing the MEID# on my Note 3, is this why it's not connecting to a network?
I kept getting the error message that "This SIM card is from an unknown source" So I disable the setup wizard 1.0 using nobloat app and it got rid of that message. I'm still unable to connect to a network?
Can someone please tell me what I need to do to fix it or can tell me what the problem is?
Or if there's anyone that has used the Verizon Note 3 overseas successfully that can tell me what I'm doing wrong?
purchase a local SIM from Airtel with a 1GB 3G package and 200 minutes of talktime for about 700 rupees ($10 or so)!!
When adding the new SIM you will see message "Non-Verizon SIM detected" but apart from that voice should work just great. Go into the APN settings the + now active and add in the new APN settings for Airtel. After you do this the internet will start working and you will be able to get H/H+ speeds there.
So yes, Verizon 4G LTE phones are truly unlocked for oversees use and you can just pop in a foreign SIM and go no worries...

Yes it may very well have to do with a IMEI change. I didnt think it was possible to change the imei.

So why would the Airtel SIM work and Vodafone will not? I don't get it they are both GSM carriers so why would one work and other one wont? Even though I fixed the APN settings for the Vodafone SIM.

My mistake, I meant I changed the MEID# not the IMEI.
But apparently you can change the IMEI# of the device as well, allegedly according to the following thread. I never done it myself.

That could easily cause you issues if your carrier can't understand the identification information your phone is providing the tower.
To be safe keep a log of what you have changed that way if it is worse you can know how to go back or what you have played with otherwise as with myself once time passes I completely forget all the details.
