Root Uninstaller? - AT&T Samsung Galaxy S 4 Q&A, Help & Troubleshootin

I was trying to use root uninstaller to remove some of the bloatware, and it errors me out on every try. It just says cannot be uninstalled. It's almost as though it does not have root, but root was installed correctly and granted.
Any ideas?

Titanium backup. Maybe that app doesnt work with the s4 yet?

Why not just use Titanium Back Up? That's what everyone uses to uninstall bloatware

No matter what, don't uninstall. Use Titanium Backup (or other) and freeze the apps. You'll hurt yourself if you uninstall - there's no reinstall until a stock image gets uploaded...

Coming from a Moto Atrix HD which I just rooted so I could get Titanium to back up, but now, as Active cant be rooted just yet, how would I restore my Titanium backup? I want it mainly for my backed up game and beats i've done with Fruity. Any ideas? I don't need system settings.

Have you looked at my backup or my backup pro on the play store? When I had a device I couldn't root I used that instead of titanium..

[Q] root for a day then gone?

bought my new sprint galaxy s4 tuesday after having a rooted s2 for years. im pulling my hair out trying to root it. i used CF autoroot and had root access till my first reboot. then it and SU went away. been trying to re-root ever since. i manage to get CWM recovery to install but root will not re-install no matter what i try. im so frustrated!!!!! everything looks like it installs every way i try it but its not there no errors. im on stock MF9 sprint variant. i wish rwilco had that one on his site!!!! thats :crying:how i kept my S2 up to date
Try flashing agat's kernel. It has auto-root. Version 0.4.0 works very well.
It checks for root at start up. If its not there it will auto install.

[Q] Rooted apps 2 sd Galaxy S4

Okay, I'm sorry if this has already been posted, but I have looked everywhere and can't seem to find it. I'm sure someone has asked this question, but has anyone figured out how to move apps to SD on the Galaxy S4 rooted? I know you don't have to root to get this functionality, but I want to keep my root access and be able to move apps to SD. Thanks in advance.
You have to be on MF9 stock or based rom. If you are then go to settings/application manager and swipe to the left and it will show you the apps that can be moved to external sdcard. You can't move everything, and it won't move all of the app, but it will move over enough to give you some room. Don't move apps that have a widget that you actively use because they will usually behave badly, especially on reboot. Also, you may have to redo some app shortcuts after a reboot.

It's been established that even MF9 doesn't do as well as the procedure described in my thread. Click on the link in my signature.

So for now, it looks like I need to make the choice between unrooting my phone and losing my Wi-Fi hotspot, or staying rooted but no apps to SD. Bummer.

???? this works on MDL and MF9.

simple root for I9506

just like the famous song "all I want for x-mas is root". Not a rooted ROM. No new recovery.
I don't care about the bloatware: TB gets rids of the things I don't like
does anyone have a short guide (sticky?) on how to do this for the 9506?
[OT] for an older tablet I used the very infamous and NOT recommended vroot program - under special circumstances using a closed network and Titanium Backup to freeze and thereafter to replace the superuser app with Chainfire's SuperSU - rooting and cleanup succeeded for a device that was considered not rootable after ASUS released an Android 4.3 update. But I'm hoping for an easier method for this particular S4. [/OT]

My post was moved to general http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2566509
Works nice with 4.2.2 but no support for 4.3 yet.
Moved here and OP please read the Forum Rules on posting, as this does not belong in the Dev Sections. Thanks

[Q] Complete Root Noob

Hey all I have been lurking this thread for awhile and today I saw that we have finally been granted root access. Now I am going to be totally honest, I am a total NOOB and have no idea what i can do with a rooted phone.
Can someone point me in the right direction as to how i can uninstall bloat? And install fancy modifications???? I would greatly appreciate any help! Thank you!
For the bloat I use titanium backup. As for the fancy modifications I would look into xposed

You can PM me if you want. I'll give you some tips/etc. For starters make sure you are rooted and have the latest SuperSu installed. (Check the root thread for a newer version, dont think play store has been updated yet). And then I would recommend installing Titanium Backup (as stated above) and even buying the Pro version for $5, its worth it in the long run if you ask me. I';ve used it on the last 7 android phones ive owned. So it's well paid for itself. once your set there PM me and i'll give you some things to check out.
We may get Safestrap recovery at some point but that will only allow us to flash roms based on the stock kernel. We shall see.

Do yourself a favor and freeze the apps you don't want first, instead of uninstalling. Atleast if you freeze an app with titanium backup and it screws your phone you can just unfreeze it and be good to go.
