OLD THINGS THAT PROBABLY WON'T WORK ON THE NEWER BUILDS:
Auto-Debloater (Obsolete, do NOT use on newer builds)
Features
Remove mock contacts & avatars (you must follow up with a series of ADB commands to completely remove all contacts due to a python script that updates contacts that to my knowledge cannot be run via recovery).
Remove mock messages and call logs.
Remove mock media.
Remove most mock apps.
Little to no mock Unity lenses.
Part 1
Flash this via recovery.
Ubuntu Touch Debloater 1.0 | md5sum: 12c42d9e25838b4612276d5638f462d4
Part 2
Due to a python script in Ubuntu Touch that updates the contacts, you must run these commands in ADB in order to completely remove all mock contact data. If you are asked for a password, it is "phablet".
Code:
adb devices
adb root
adb shell
ubuntu_chroot shell
su - phablet
manage-address-books.py delete
Official Ubuntu Touch Status
13.04 "Raring Ringtail" & 13.10 "Saucy Salamander"
Preview and Beta
Mobile data works with some tweaks
Latest Preview Jenkins Changelog
On May 16th, alpha apps such as terminal and file manager will be released, so I'm not trying to remove any dependencies they may need.
How to Flash & Debloat
Reboot into recovery.
Make NANDROID backup.
Wipe System, Data, Cache, & Dalvik Cache.
Flash current for your device (whether it be official or not).
Flash latest Root FS (raring-preinstalled-phablet-armhf.zip).
Pull battery/turn off phone.
Boot into recovery.
Flash latest auto-debloat script.
Follow up in ADB as directed to finish removing all mock contact data.
Reboot system.
Enjoy.

People may be labeling it a "beta", but it's still a developer preview. Most improvements have been under the hood. Not much different than earlier Quantal builds, but much more responsive.

I just wanted to let you know that your work is very much appreciated. Your thread and the mailing list are what I follow now to get my Ubuntu Touch news. Thank you for the updates and thank you VERY much for the pre-debloated zips.

Hi there, i have a unlocked and rooted nexus 4 running AOKP JB Milestone 1, what do i need to flash to get the Ubuntu Preview on my phone is it raring-preinstalled-armel-mako.zip firstly and then the phablet-armhf.zip. Thanks

It looks like the debloated zip is the first link. You should make the link DATE - debloated just to be clear.
As for flashing:
1) Download armel+mako, and phablet preinstalled
2) Make nandroid backup in recovery
3) flash mako+armel THEN phablet preinstalled
4) boot to recovery and restore nandroid backup from earlier to restore android

[ROMs] 4.2.2 ROM's

I have two ROM's I thought I would share. They are both 4.2.2 ROMs; one is AOKP, and the other CyanogenMod. Niether have working Bluetooth and do have most of the current 4.2.2 bugs.

The 4.2.2 GAPPs package
A question for you, where did you learn to build ROMs for the HP touchpad? I've been googleing how to set up a build environment on Ubuntu, which I've nearly completed but then all guides on building cm10.1 (for example) only cover supported devices of which the Touchpad isn't.... I can't find much with Google at least on Touchpad specific ROM building.

This is hands down the best guide for setting up your build environment. Its okay to be on 13.04 as well, you might just have some unmet dependantcies you need to install. You'll likely be told you are holding broken packages and will need to meet the dependencies before you can install the other packages.
sudo apt-get install gcc
sudo apt-get install g++
After following that guide you should be set up to build.
Building for unsupported devices depends on the ROM you are trying to create. Basically you just need to follow the file paths in your local repository until you find something out of place or missing, then fix it.
You can see my githib at github.com/cdmoncrieff where you can see some of the commits I made to build for AOKP to get an idea of the process. There is also a short build-instructions repo with a few details of the process for 4.2.2. If you have any questions, which if you are going to try building, I will be glad to help
I still need more posts before links, here's another!
OK that's great I will take a look, the main problem for me at the moment is time. I'm currently using Ubuntu 12.10 I'm hoping to at least compile cm9 or cm10 to start with as they are pretty much fully operational. SGA's efforts with 4.2 and yours have inspired me to have ago. I guess the battery life is the main item that needs work in 4.2.2 and working out how to get Bluetooth working. What are your plans? Do you intend to try to improve on the current builds?

I've looked at your github and there are some useful changes in there I may move over to my rom. I just started getting phantom touches in one corner so I'll try out the ts_srv.c change. I might try the system tunings to system.prop, why did you choose those changes?
Why did you disable backuptool in tenderloin_ota_from_target_files? It is what keeps your gapps when you flash. Does it cause you some problems? I find it works just fine.
good job on the rom.
By the way, the camera driver is consuming lots of power (90mA sleep) so I reverted those three commits. The camera doesn't work but I'm down to 19 and I hope to get back to 4. (it's in my new branch c10.1, I'm still new at git so I left my old tree with camera for those who want it and a new tree with it reverted for me.)
Keep up the good work.

Yes because SELinux isn't implemented (or at least correctly) initial boot yields a bunch of FC for media/gapps related apps. Reboot and it should work fine.

It needs to be enabled in dev options. As long as you don't flash other kernels shouldn't break. But considering there aren't any other kernels right now lol

[ALPHA] | CustomDroid | Automated flashing, rooting, etc like CM installer

You all must have heard of CyanogenMod installer, which makes it easy to install CyanogenMod ROM on a number of devices. You just need to download the app on your phone and then connect your phone to your PC and the installer app on your PC will do the heavy lifting. But the problem is: It's a CyanogenMod installer -- You can only install CyanogenMod using it, that's it. So I present to you - Custom Droid
What is Custom Droid?
CustomDroid allows you to tweak your newly purchased phone. It can:
Unlock the bootloader of your device
Flash a custom recovery
Flash a custom ROM
Flash a custom kernel [WIP]
Root your device [WIP]
The user interface is like an installer and it makes the entire process, from bootloader unlocking to custom ROM, super easy and intuitive.
This project was inspired by CM Installer. Since CM Installer was limited (and could only flash a CM ROM), I thought "Why not create a similar app which can do more and also flash any kind of ROM?".

Important Notes:
The app is in experimental stage so please don't say "It sucks" or "It bricked my device", there are still few things left to fix and add. Please report bugs via GitHub
Kernel flashing and rooting is WIP and will be ready by ALPHA 2
List of currently supported devices are: Nexus 4, Nexus 7, Nexus 10, Galaxy Nexus, Nexus S, Nexus One and HTC One.
Only GSM variants of the devices are supported. LTE/4G model support will be added in ALPHA 3 (expected). Support for more devices will be added soon.
If you have a HTC One, make sure the bootloader unlock key ("Unlock_code.bin") file is present in the root folder of the application else it will not be able to unlock your One's bootloader. I will be adding the support for extracting identifier token automatically in v2 to make it easy for you to obtain the bootloader unlock key.

.NET Framework 4.5
ADB/fastboot drivers

Before reporting a bug:
Check the issues in this post and last 1-2 pages of the thread, so you can just quote and confirm a bug reported by another (or just use thanks button for this).
If it isn't a known bug already, post it using the bug report template. Ask if someone else can reproduce it.
If nobody can reproduce it, then you should do a full wipe(make a backup in cwm before it), don't restore/install anything else(this includes custom kernels/apps/settings etc.) than what is needed for trying to reproduce the bug in a clean install. Or just do this step before even reporting it.
If the bug is still there then, you can just restore your phone back to the state before wiping.
It would also help greatly to provide logs (in
Code:
blocks), in an organized manner.

I get an error when i try to connect my google account, the phone can't have a secure connection with the server
EDIT: Fixed by editing file \etc\hosts, you must write # before the ip near android.clients.google.com for example:
127.0.0.1 localhost
#23.123.12.13 android.clients.google.com
And try to sign in, now it will work

I wiped before flash, and didn't flash gapps afterwards. Seems like they're included (someone might look in the zip file (i'm too lazy right now ))
Oh x) I always install the Google Apps Full Modular 0 Day from Paranoid and never had issues

Just installed the rom today, all of the stuff I've used has worked fine. One thing I've noticed is that it seems to run hotter than other roms, when I play games or even restored my app backup, the phone got warm which hasn't happened on any of the other roms I've tried. Also, you may want to post this on original development as well, I don't know how many crack flashers check the general section. All in all, works great, thanks bro
You're welcome
I'm talking with a member of PACman team to add it to Dev section

The ROM works awesome so far I have only found that NO themes work at all, only the system default. Does anyone else have this problem?

Seems to have a wifi issue ... it won't let me connect to a new network, only my home network won't even let me try. I've tried toggling wifi and rebooting. Not sure what else to try. Same issue with multiple networks.

Please keep in mind that the current build has alpha status
The same message I already posted at the announcement threat but please take care.
Please let a take a short remark at the current state of PAC-man 4.4, I kindly ask you to bear in mind.
The PAC-man-ROM 4.3 I provided in the past and I also maintain the 4.4. Currently the 4.4 has the Alpha status and after the build process at my own machine, I have the following information.
Code:
Please remember that this source is currently for private builds ONLY!
Public builds are NOT ALLOWED, all public builds will be removed.
It will be welcomed after nightlies begin. Thank you, the Developers.
At my own machine, I was able as for tur build a running ROM, I got several errors, which caused stops during the build. This is not a problem for me because these errors have to be fixed by the PAC-man team and me and at alpha version are they typically.
I know, at the PAC-man homepage, you will find archives. Please keep in mind, that they are result of an automatic process and haven't been checked anymore. When they run fine, good luck if not, I hope that you have a backup.
Please take care when you use these alpha versions.
I'm getting unknown baseband with latest nightly (22/03).
Tried dirty Flash and clean install.

Zenfone 2 Toolkit for Zenfone 2 Stock+OTA+Root+CWM bootstrap+SuperSu all-in-one!

Hi All!
Just out of boredom yesterday I put together a "Toolkit" for this bootloader unlock situation that seems to be extremely confusing throughout the interwebs.... I included the stock image 2.18.40.12 zip for the Z00A-WW (ML551) to start fresh with provided by ASUS themselves via their support site, the 2.19.40.18 OTA update provided by ASUS, the ZenFoneRootKit provided by user Shakalaca, the CWM bootstrapper provided by user 29y6145 and social-design-concepts, with SuperSU.zip, and Full instructions for every step along the way (Instructions.txt Provided by me) I also included drivers and one click adb installer to make things as smooth as possible for this process. Again, I'm not the creator of any of the programs provided in this toolkit, just the particular organizer who saw the need to make this process easier for others who want to get the most out of their phone and get more development capable devices ready for our eager hands to play with. I put a lot of particulars in the Instructions so be sure to read them verbatim and everything should work well.

PM me for the link since this is a new account I'm not trustworthy enough to post them yet.

Too large, since it contains everything from start to finish. about 1.2gb packed
Instead of one large file, why not split it using 256 MB rar files and upload them here?

Let me get this straight, this toolkit is only for the ZE551ML and not for the ZE550ML
Sent from my ZE550ML
The stock img and ota included are not for the 550, however can be easily acquired from the ASUS support site. The other files and programs included work for all version of the zf2.
Edit: no OTA yet for the 550

And I don't believe there's an OTA available for that model yet, apologies.

Access it from your computer and it will show the correct files.
You cannot access Mega on Android without installing the app...
You have to use a computer for the link to work properly...
