Zenfone 2 Toolkit for Zenfone 2 Stock+OTA+Root+CWM bootstrap+SuperSu all-in-one! - ZenFone 2 General

Hi All!
Just out of boredom yesterday I put together a "Toolkit" for this bootloader unlock situation that seems to be extremely confusing throughout the interwebs.... I included the stock image 2.18.40.12 zip for the Z00A-WW (ML551) to start fresh with provided by ASUS themselves via their support site, the 2.19.40.18 OTA update provided by ASUS, the ZenFoneRootKit provided by user Shakalaca, the CWM bootstrapper provided by user 29y6145 and social-design-concepts, with SuperSU.zip, and Full instructions for every step along the way (Instructions.txt Provided by me) I also included drivers and one click adb installer to make things as smooth as possible for this process. Again, I'm not the creator of any of the programs provided in this toolkit, just the particular organizer who saw the need to make this process easier for others who want to get the most out of their phone and get more development capable devices ready for our eager hands to play with. I put a lot of particulars in the Instructions so be sure to read them verbatim and everything should work well.

PM me for the link since this is a new account I'm not trustworthy enough to post them yet.

Too large, since it contains everything from start to finish. about 1.2gb packed

Instead of one large file, why not split it using 256 MB rar files and upload them here?

Let me get this straight, this toolkit is only for the ZE551ML and not for the ZE550ML
Sent from my ZE550ML

The stock img and ota included are not for the 550, however can be easily acquired from the ASUS support site. The other files and programs included work for all version of the zf2.
Edit: no OTA yet for the 550

And I don't believe there's an OTA available for that model yet, apologies.

It is alright. I guess I'll have to be Patient and wait for Asus to get there act together with the Servers.

You cannot access Mega on Android without installing the app...
You have to use a computer for the link to work properly...

You can't install any ROM without CWM. So every ROM you must install via CWM.
so after doing all this i will be able to install TWRP and update it right?
Never Mind the ROM i want says to stick with TWRP 2.1.3

"7.3 Copy it to be on a some paper. But be careful, you must add to top 0."
You're not clear here; do I add a 0 at the beginning or the end of the CPU-ID?

N/m, a quick search elsewhere tells me to add a zero to the front (beginning) of the number.

Thanks.
You must add 0 to front.
I was able to root my device using the above methods, but could not install CWM.
After a lot of reading, it sounds like this is because I updated my device to Ice Cream Sandwich via OTA ("over-the-air," meaning from Acer directly).
I was able to get it to work by using the tool here:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1675939
Best of luck to all else!
Hi.
I was reading your tutorial, and i must say that it is very detaild. Very nice and thank you.
Now i'm intrested before i start:
- I have i A500 with FLEXREAPER R12.5, Android version 4.0.3
- Do i need to format SD card before i proceed or i can just start with your instructions ?
When i finish will i be able to install THIS
Thank You
Great sign that more users are willing to contribute to the just cause of our a500's!
However, please remember to give proper credit / thanks to those who have made the tools necessary (i.e. blackthund3r, gersma, etc... ) and the unlocked ICS bootloader ( Skrilax_CZ).

Nice post! Glad people are still making use of my projects download stats are pretty useless because of reuploads but I have a pretty good idea of usage and, for ICS Root at least, without reuploads considered, according to Dev-Host, is nearly 10,000 for v7.1.1 alone. I'm absolutely amazed at the uptake. Thanks so much guys! Flash tool v0.4 is at about 5500 on d-h.st
Sorry I haven't been around much recently. GCSEs are taking over my life (rightly so). At least, that's what my parents think
EDIT: Can I request that the links be changed to the latest versions of the tool? ICS Root is onto v7.1.1 and you linked to 2.0.1.0 lol
There's huge fixes in it haha. Plus, the included version of A500Manager is old. The new one gets your CPUID and SBK using a combination of the internet and ADB

But, some of you may have to use the other methods. Remember this. The 500/501 can be a bit touchy at times.
But at this time, I will have to close this thread, the reason,
Nowhere does the OP give any thanks for the products used. In fact, OP has not responded to my PM.
XDA has a policy about this.

S3 mini toolkit Testing

I have just spoke to Mskip the legend of all toolkits is going to throw up a toolkit for me to test so make things easier for all of us want to thank Mskip for taking the time to answer my pm to request for a toolkit for the s3 mini thanks again. I will update this thread as when Mskip has toolkit ready for testing.
Update if you want to help this project please write your exact model and build version from the about screen here so Mskip can get to work.
For those of you that don't know what the toolkit does read here http://www.skipsoft.net/
Update please submit and install Voodoo Report from the Play Store (free app). Run it and save the report to sdcard then post the zip here in this thread as an attachment. We are looking for this file from all variants of the samsung galaxy s3 mini model.
Update from mark MSKIP
I have the Toolkit finished I just need to root the stock boot images and upload the zip files to goo.im which I will be doing tonight. Im pretty sure that the GT-I8190 and GT-I8190N will have the same mount points as the only difference is NFC capability.
If anyone is available to test tonight (about 9 or 10pm GMT) then let me know in here. I dont want to post the test file publicly until I know its working.
One other thing I noticed the stock images do not have a stock recovery image present does anyone have any information (maybe picked up from the general forum) where it is? Its not a major thing I have just disabled flashing the stock recovery image in the main menu, thats the only thing it affects.
Mark.
UPDATE We need s3 mini testers pm mark if you want to test before release thanks.
official toolkit thread is here now http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2185700

Thank you.
Mark.

Recovery is in "/dev/block/mmcblk0p21" if that's what you were asking for.

I will be here to test just send me the link to test i have uploaded my vodoo report.
Anyone with a GT-I8190N please help out for us to help you upload your vodoo report as requested thanks.
I have finished a test version of the Toolkit and everything (apart from flashing a stock recovery) should work but it needs testing before I can release it. If someone wants to test, preferably on a stock unrooted phone then please let me know. GT-I8190 and GT-8190N are already added and I am now adding GT-I8190L.
Mark.
We need s3 mini testers pm mark if you want to test before release thanks.

[STOCK][ODIN] ! ! New GT-P3113UEUCMK3

THIS IS FOR USE WITH ODIN ONLY!
If you do not know what I'm talking about in this post or understand exactly what performing this will do, I HIGHLY recommend you educate yourself on the use of ODIN before going any further.
NEW LINK: GT-P3113UEUCMK3
This does not belong to me. You do not need permission to use this! And since myself (and others) have a hard time downloading from those 3rd and 4th party Samsung firmware sites, I uploaded it to a much more stable/secure/reputable host site.
PIT file can be downloaded here. BE SURE to hit thanks on mythi's OP!
ENSURE you choose the correct file to download! It's labeled : 7.0p311x.zip

I noticed that it does. I won't say definitively until I've run this thru a few battery discharges first. It includes an updated kernel as well.

Not quite sure what you mean... This is the latest full stock ROM (not rooted), flashed with Odin using a standard procedure.

Couple of options come to mind... You can flash this stock 4.2.2, but you'll have to root it again afterwards (and install a custom recovery, if you want). Otherwise, you can go with MicroDelta by @Tsjoklat -- it's a very nice ROM, and the latest version of it is built on this exact base. It will be a full wipe in both scenarios, though.
ok so if a take this file and flash it with odin ill have to wipe the tab first ... or are you saying that the tab will automatically be wiped?
i dont have anything important on it so it doesnt really matter to much
thanks for any and all help

If you flash this package via Odin, it will wipe everything -- you don't have to do it manually. It will also revert the recovery back to stock, if you have a custom one installed now.
Make sure you read carefully how to use Odin, if you haven't used it before -- there are ways to screw up your device pretty badly.

Which file? The actual Odin-flashable package linked in the OP? I don't know... It's in TAR format, but the extension is *.tar.md5, so your OS may not recognize it. But you don't need to unzip it -- Odin will process this file as is. It's a good idea to verify the MD5 checksum (it's on the download page) before flashing, to make sure your download is not corrupt.

ok so i downloaded the file and opened it .rar archiver to check the file and has a .tar.md5 file and .dll file.
ODIN wont recognize a .zip though and i get a file is invalid.
im gonna try the other method you mentioned.

OPT came with Oxygen OS 2.0.3 preinstalled

Hi,
ordered it on 09/14 directly from OnePlus and received it today in Germany.
Haven't seen a mention of v2.0.3
Any questions or should I test something?
Someone on Reddit asked me to upload the system folder.
How do I export that folder?

Explaining it here would be quite a lot, so there´s a great guide here: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2450045
Let me know if you need some additional help!
If the method above is to comicated you can flash TWRP and make a system backup and upload it here. I can go ahead and make a flashable zip with that. Just backup your system and nothing else (privacy reasons).
Can you check please, is there a russian language?

No Russian on mine with 2.0.3
Is there Spanish language? Does anyone know the changes from oxygen OS 2.0.2?

You don't even need to flash anything.
Just boot twrp via fastboot and back up the system.
I think there are several people here who'd like to try.

Would like to keep my device stock as much as possbile.

It's Ukrainian language and it was there from 2.0.0. Seems they still ignore Russians.
Anyway, thanks for the reply.

You would need to fastboot oem unlock to unlock the bootloader then use fastboot boot twrp.img(image name for recovery) and then go to backup option and then select system, reboot your phone after and pull the twrp folder form your device.

You are from Germany, right? Would it help you if I would go through the steps with you, in German? PM me!
You would need to unlock the bootloader, but not more.
If you boot the recovery only, it will not get installed.
You can then lock it again afterwards.
in Spain people how ordered it from oneplus web site came with 2.0.3 too.....
so, what are they waiting for the OTA?
Anyone managed to upload nandroid yet of 2.0.3?
We need an nandroid of this. Every phone that came with 2.0.3 and is modified makes the home button not work at all.

My OPT came with 2.0.3 preinstalled. I just made a backup using TWRP before going through the initial setup of the phone. I don't know where people upload such big files to be honest. This is my first post on this forum. Someone from the OnePlus forums told me to check out XDA.
I'll explain it for you just take the nandroid and upload it to google drive I know it's tough but I'd appreciate it so much!

It's uploading as we speak. The file is 1.15 GB and my upload speed is only about 10Mbit/sec.
Thank you, how long till its done ?
I'm at work so it'll probably be done by the time I'm out but I really appreciate it. We all do.
There's definitely a file that's causing the home button to not work when modifying the system with a new kernel. Or drivers or something of the sort.
