LG E615 | Cross Firmware Flashing/Downgrading | Error 1002 | 4% Update Fail FIX

This post may be helpful for:​
1. People that are trying to downgrade from firmware they flashed.
2. People who accidentally flashed wrong firmware and now they want to flash the correct one.
3. People who generally want to flash a firmware using the KDZ Updater, ​
AND
Cannot do the things above because the KDZ Update tool shows the "Error 1002" or the update tool stops at 4%.
P.S. I have tried that on Optimus L5 and L9 when I had same problem and it works. Some users also told me it works on L7 too.

Hello guys.
As the title says, I have tried to test JB(e610 model) Firmware to my LGE 615 with KDZ Updater.
The funny part is that I tried Europe v20B, which is supported for e610 and it (SEEMED) to be installed correctly. It wasn't obviously, that's why I'm here..! I had the usual " no touch " issue. The touch works ONLY after the first KDZ install, and after Hard Factory Reset for only ONE boot(and with SIM inside - If it's not it doesnt work). With the first reboot, the touch stops working.
Hence, I decided to downgrade it again to the previous version. So, I downloaded the correct firmware from LG site.
The issue is that NO other version other than v20B(Europe) for LG e610 is installed (no matter how many Roms compatible with e615 i tried).
I tried recovery from The LG Mobile Support Tool auto-update,KDZ Updater and offline installing it (Unbrick). The first 2 options give me this specific error:
Smart : wParam = 100, lParam = 1002
Step : Upgrade Error error code = 1002

The latter, gives me error in Connection with the phone(which I think is a bug)
The wierd thing is that v20B Europe flashing works. It seems i cannot "downgrade" it to an other version.
I thought "maybe it's because I tried e610 firmware" so I downloaded and tried older e610 firmwares but still nothing works. ONLY v20B-e610.
Of course I tried everything with disabled the LGE Usb Modem driver and with usb-debugging on.
Any suggestions?

EDIT: I've searched every possible solution online(Currently I'm trying to figure if LG Flashtool can do anything. Found the LG_E615.dll, but currently it says it cannot find the libusb0.dll....
Can anyone help? Maybe a link/guide for Flashtool?
EDIT 2: Ok, now I'm totally frustrated(and SCARED)... Stayed up all night and found NO solution. Tried LGMDP too, but cannot find a workaround...I tried either in Emergency Download Mode or in JB with no solution.... Is there any device compatible with e615 that i can use from LGMDP's devices??? KDZ still gives me the "1002" Error(Except of V20 Firmware).........
Am I at the wrong forum btw?*
If anyone knows any solution or has any abso-freaking-lutely ideas what I can do(Because I mine have ended).... PLEASE HELP!! :crying:

KDZ Updater - Error 1002
Finally fixed it!!!
I installed downgraded CrossModel Firmware, and now my E615 has a E615 Official Rom.
As I said on the first post, there was only one firmware that worked and got installed with the KDZ Updater tool.(The v20b-for E610 - Europe) , so I downloaded the firmware i wanted to install, and "tricked" the PC into, thinking that it installed the 20b.
I don't know if that issue happened only to me only, but IF someone has the same problem another time, it will maybe work for him too. Or maybe it will be possible solution to everyone flashing a wrong Firmware..!
The thing is , I noticed that the KDZ Updater everytime it wanted to install a KDZ, it extracted it as a .DZ file at the "LGMOBILEAX" folder located in C/ProgramData folder.(In Windows XP it's in C:\Documents and Settings\<your account name>\Application Data\)
To fix the "Lparam 1002 Error"(Stop on 4% of update tool or crash error in KDZ updater ) I did the following steps:
1. Installed correct drivers from LG mobile tool to be sure my phone was recognized.
2. Moved battery out(Optional, by I prefer it if it's possible).
3. Entered Emergency Download Mode(By pressing the Volume-Down button while connecting the phone with the PC).
4. Extracted the -working-E610/V20.kdz and the E615/ V10.kdz with the Rom Converter Tool made by jes0411 (Original Post HERE), and renamed the extracted E615v10.dz same as E610v20.dz.
5. I started the KDZ update, choosing the working V20, and when the e610v20.dz file was extracted, I replaced it immediately with the (now renamed as "e610v20.dz") E6150v10.dz.
EDIT: If you are too scared of replacing files during the procedure, just wait until the update stops and ask you to restart. You can replace then it then.
Wierd issue from LG, but it worked for me!

Just to add that in my case the first time I made the process the device stayed at the LG logo,, tried a hard reset without results, so I choose another ICS working KDZ file and made a second flash.... A succesfuly second one!!.

man i have lg e610 ..i upgraded to stupid jelly bean rom which hwave many bugs ..i wnated to downgrade back to the stock rom so i downloaded it from the lg website and when i try to flash it using kdz it keep telling me wparam 1000 lparam 1002 error and closes :S i hate my mobile now and want to return to the stock rom can you help me ?

You upgraded via KDZ Updater? Or by the in-phone updater?
If you upgraded via KDZ, you follow the same steps as the second post. The .dz files that you will need to replace are in the c://appdata/lgmobileax folder (on Windows 7 and with "show hidden files and folders" option ON).
If you didn't update via the LG KDZ tool , you just have to find a working (one that can get installed) firmware from HERE. I think it's better to download a Jelly Bean(V20) one, since you wont have problem installing it propably.
Try, the things above, follow the steps on second post carefully and tell me what happened.

i have updated through kdz and i do the same steps as i updated but it gives me errors ..i will try the way you mentioned in post two ...its too complicated when i read it i didnt understand anything but i will try and tell you if i need assistance ..thank you mate

my phone is E612 , flased into L7 P705 wrongly. finally flashed back into E612 by using this.
How to stop the process when flashing P705: when dz generated , unplug the usb cable, & replace the DZ of E612 with same name of DZ of P705.

Hey guys,
Please help me out. I have an E615 that I wrongly flashed with with an E610 ROM using the KDZ Updater. I'm trying to use your process to get it back to the stock ROM but i have a problem, whenever I try to copy the renamed E615 file after extraction I get the message that the file is still in use and cannot be replaced. How do i work around this? Please help, I'm pretty desperate here

Hey moulwxtos,
I managed to figure it out. The problem was with the version of KDZ updater I was using. For some reason I couldn't replace the renamed .dz file when using the original KDZ Updater because it kept giving me something about permission errors. When i changed to the KDZ Updater with offline fox (UpTestEX_mod2_marwin) it worked flawlessly. My phone's back to normal. Many thanks mate

please some video how to replace the generated file of UpTestEX_mod2_marwin,
because i cant it say file in use or i cant cancel the generated, and even unplugin the cable, impossible

This way:
1. Installed correct drivers from LG mobile tool to be sure my phone was recognized.

4. Download a firmware stock version V10x_00 compatibly with your Phone ( From lg-firmwares)
5. With LG Flash Tool 2004 do downgrade from V20 to version Base V10, you just have to choose the V10x_00.kdz
6. I started the KDZ update NORMALLY and just Wait.
maybe later you can install the version V20D

[Q] LG optimus l3 E430 wont boot.. HELP NEEDED

Recently(today) i rooted my phone with framaroot 1.9.1. i installed rom toolbox and the started to change fonts. i applied one font and then i rebooted my phone.but now its not booting up.ias i saw that it wont boot up i pulled out battery and rebooted.it loads lg boot logo and animation but it wont load homescreen.it loads endlessly.
i also tried to wipe data by buttons but when i get the recovery mode loading,it immediately reboots.also i know very little about unbricking android phone by pc.IF YOU CAN HELP ME I AM VERY GRATEFULL(hope thats how they write it)

Odin is only for samsung. For LG, use KDZ updater. You must download rom too. (Links in my previously posts) Not so difficult.

The link he posted is stock kdz for different countries.
Look for your country and your phone model and download the latest firmware.

Right click, properties, compatibility and check "run this program as administrator".

Just unpack your kdz_updater package with winrar in a folder where you want to use it. I don't see anything about incompatibility with win8.

I have T-Mobile LG Optimus L3 that was rooted with Kingo without a recovery (I'm a noob). A while ago my phone became irresponsive so I hard-reset it( also because I'm a newb). When I was done, my phone was stuck on bootloop. It would get to the white T-Mobile screen then loop there. I tried using the LG Mobile Support Tool but an error would occur at 4%. I don't know what to do. Can you please help.

Try using the KDZ method to flash your phone. So it will be back to it's stock ROM. You can find the KDZ update method here

I was using Cm9 SDmerge by gellmar, I was flashed V10D Brazil, and o got a bootloop (or recovery) i had never seen, my phone is totally bricked, no hard reset, adb can not recognize my phone, KDZ yes but not solve my problem, the only way is Medusa box? anyone can help me? tnxx

OKay. So you tried out differrent things. But if you could explain briefly why the KDZ did not work for you, it will be much easier to solve the puzzle.
Could you get your phone in emergency mode?

I don't know why kdz do not work, i had never seen this, I can put on Emergency Mode but, when KDZ finish flash the phone splash a white screen and back to LG logo, adb says only "device not found" , and fastboot says <waiting for device>

If the phone is not turning back on even after the KDZ update, then chances are that you have hard-bricked your phone. In the KDZ update, does the log says 'UPDATE SUCCESSFUL' message?.

No kdz sometimes says "Wparam=100; Lparam=6" and sometimes says only FINISHED but still the error

"Wparam=100; Lparam=6" are errors denoting that the update was not successful. And the 'finished' message indicates that the process is complete. But, it must show that "Update Successful' in the log. Understand that. Try to re-install the LG mobile drivers and then flash it.

Touch not working after flashing stock ROM

I have LG G2 32GB from HK
First I Rooted the device, everything was OK- phone works...
Than I decided to burn STOCK ROM , i used LG Flash Tool 2014
Flash was 100% success, no error
After Device finish boot,
In the first Welcome screen (where you choose language)
I cannot touch the screen, everywhere i click (touch) the screen it seems like i touch somewhere else....
I cannot proceed forward from the welcome screen
The phone does not respond to my touch.... broken
The phone goes into Download mode, and quite strange- though i flah unrooted Stock Rom - it still writes that the phone is rooted.....
I tried to flash 5 different ROM (kdz file), None of them helped...same problem for each KDZ
I tried to flash using Win 8.1 , and Win7 ...same thing..touch not working after boot finished.....
I found a similart problem with no solution:

You have a refurb and a different model. Check my post here. You need to open your phone, you either have the D800 or D801. Flash that ROM, and you wil be fine.

The phone was sold as NEW and not Refr.
It was in Genuine box, with Genuine Chrager (and even manual)
Though it might be fraud...
I talked to the seller, and i am sending it back to him
Hopefully he will fix it/replace it

I think i'm having exactly the same problem as you T_T
so i decided to open my LG G2 to find out which exact model it is, and what i found is LS980 instead of D802.
but when i try to flash it with .tot files with LG flashtool v1.81, but i always got [Download FAIL!!] Check DLL or BIN file.
i also tried to flash it with some KDZ files like (D80210B_00, D80210F_00) i got 100% success but stuck at 1st welcome screen too.
i tried to look for KDZ file for the LS980 version but i can't any, so can someone please help me out here, please?
Would it work if i flash it with KDZ if i can find the LS980 KDZ-file for it?
i hope someone can help me please...

i tried to look for KDZ file for the LS980 version but i can't any, so can someone please help me out here, please?
Would it work if i flash it with KDZ if i can find the LS980 KDZ-file for it?

You can flash with the TOT, you just need to edit the TOT file in a Hex editor and change the model to what you have (LS980). Look at my post here on how to do that.

LG Magna without download mode

I have LG Magna H502Y and i have REALLY BIG PROBLEM. My phone apparently has 8GB of internal storage,but it on has 2 of available,so i had no space for downloading. And i flashed custom rom for LG Magna(AOSP Rom,Exception rom) in search of those 8GB,and i did it. But now the whole software has problems,like no double tap for lock-unlock,camera is really bad,no QMemo,and alot of things that original LG Magna had. Now there comes tricky part,i wanted to flash it back to normal stock firmware via LG Flash Tool with KDZ file(i found KDZ file for LG Magna) aaaaaand as i wanted to start flashing to stock firmware,THE PHONE HAS NO DOWNLOAD MODE THAT IS NECESSARY FOR FLASHING.Can you guys please help me finding out how to flash it to stock rom? I tried via ADB,LG Flash tool...

Are you sure, there is no download mode ?
Try to remove the battery, then connect your magna to pc, press and hold volume up button and put the battery back.

I tried that and i tried via ADB (adb reboot download),via Quickboot app,but nothing happens,it just restarts

My phone got stuck on bootloop after I unrooted it. It would be great if you uploaded the stock rom. TY!

I have done it! Haha, I'm pretty much overjoyed right now
So to those people who will face this problem in the future, here's some tips.
1. Download your firmware from here: http://lg-phone-firmware.com/index.php?id_mod=237
(ctrl+f) then type the model number
2. Follow the instructions from this site: http://www.file-extensions.org/article/install-kdz-firmware-to-lg-smartphone
3. A window will appear asking for your country and language. Choose different country then your language. (If you are not Korean)
4. If an error about "can't connect to server" occurs, ignore it. You've already downloaded the file, so there's nothing to worry about.
5. Wait until it finishes rebooting and optimizes the apps.
6. ???
7. Profit

hi, were you able to resolve this ? i tried flashing using the lg flash tool, and it failed midway(Around 78%) and is now stuck on bootloop....i see the lg logo, and then it goes blank and back to the logo
