Anandtech's HTC one review by Brian Klug - One (M7) General

http://www.anandtech.com/show/6747/htc-one-review
I haven't read it myself yet, but I know this will make it break this purchase for me when it comes time for my Tmo America.
Enjoy dudes!

Anandtech does the best reviews, just finished reading it and they really made me want to buy the phone. They should do some marketing for HTC.

Truly epic review. The amount of time they spend is insane and the detail. Glad I got my pre-order in for the DevOne. Now the wait begins.
Sent from my Nexus 4 using Tapatalk 2

For all of my years on Android, I have somehow never read one of their reviews. Fantastic, more detail than I thought was possible and literally every piece of information that I wanted. Confirmed my decision to purchase the Dev edition earlier.

I know a guy named klug... He Isn't trustworthy...
Having said that this phone is amazing!

Wow, most comprehensive review I've seen. At first I thought it's overkill, but it's not. There's so much to these devices, the average person has no idea. Fantastic!

honestly i just skipped all the technical stuff and just looked at the pictures and videos. i skimmed through some of the other stuff and it sounds like the phone is awesome. too bad i have to wait until the 19th for my preorder to arrive.

review
What a review:good::good:
This is what i call a review.....

That's an epic review and makes me even happier that I brought a HTC One and it also makes The Verge's review look like a bad joke now.

This review was just.. wow.. And I thought GSMArena does comprehensive reviews. So many tech details that I read about for the first time. Just excellent.

Hello to every1, that's my 1st post!
Great review, simply the most complete! Yeah, GSM-Samsung-Arena ...
Can't wait to get this phone, i'm so excited!

Review? I've worked on doctorial theses that had fewer words and less detail in them!
When they review a phone they really leave nothing out! Thanks Anand.

Seriously! He hasn't ever given an editor's choice to a phone so if he does give it then it must be an extraordinary phone!

Indeed it is an awesome review. You feel exhausted after you read all these topics and the analysis that Brian have done on the different aspects of the phone and most of the time you need to read them twice to be able to understand every tiny detail that he put under his microscope!
Probably the best review on the net!
Well done Brian Well done Anandtech!:good::good::good::good:

Good detailed review makes me want to buy another HtC one!!!

Finished reading. Pretty much seals the deal for me.
Currently own a tmo gs2 fyi. Unfortunately I'm still 10% apprehensive due to historical HTC attention past product launches.

That has to be the best review I've ever read.

Evo vs Iphone poll... Deleted on Engadget?

Soooo... It looks like the Evo was starting to pull ahead and all of the sudden engadget deletes the article, poll and comments. Sadly, it was a little more balanced than the previous article that was an Apple sausagefest.
Then again, it probably didn't help Steve Jobs any that the android engadget app has a widget.
Here is the now dead link. I actually do wonder why they would delete it.

Oh, come on. Engadget has been talking about how great the Evo is forever, they gave it an awesome review, and they're pretty reasonable overall.
I bet it just became too much of a hate-fest between fanboys on both sides.

Wow I'm surprised they actually did that. Surely they have some "reason" for it.
In the past they just disabled the comments, not delete the entire article. Anybody else remember when comments were disabled on engadget?

You are probably correct. The exchanges between fanboy camps can get pretty heated.
they are biased to whoever gives them more ad money. They pay the bills, guess who the boss is? Who spends more advertising revenue, apple or evo? Thats who gets more positive spin.
thats really nasty even to think about it haha cant they really deal with android?

http://www.engadget.com/2010/06/10/...he-evo-4g-vs-iphone-4-post/comments/28543355/
Joshua is trying to say that they aren't worried which phone wins in the poll since that's our opinion not theirs. Basically I agree with them everyone is getting a bit paranoid. They gave the Evo a great review, and face it the iPhone is a good smartphone. Their reason for taking down the review was good of course if they had put up their explanation right away then people would had less conspiracies to make up.

They were paid to take it down isnt it obvious. Why would they take our down? They've done numerous comparisons on products that have yet to be released how its this an exception?

Well like I said if they had put up their reason right away and just transferred the poll then it would have been fine, but the article itself was a comparison, which is silly to try to do an in depth comparison of a device you saw in a controlled environment for an hour to a device you were allowed to use for weeks.
You guys have got to be kidding me...a "cover up the EVO love" conspiracy? Come on! The EVO wasn't even winning the poll before they took it down. They even posted an awesome review of the EVO.
It's embarrassing reading some of the Android fan's comments about this around the internet.

[Q] Xoom knock-off: Too true to be good?

I know (almost) everyone is still upset about missing the steal... um, deal of the year, but does anyone know anything about this:
http://www.applelover.org/android-30-p-1088.html
I saw this and instantly thought SCAM ALERT!!! But what if it's not? If it's true, this can certainly make up for missing that other deal. Also noteworthy, this is a presale. Another thing that I was leery of with the Xoom already officially in stores...
Yeah, I'm sooo calling shenanigans on this.
So many red flags all over this.
Besides, shipping date May 31? Yeah..
They must be working on a different calendar than we are, because you only get the special pricing before "28th Jeb"
Scam... order by Jeb? Jebuary? Oh yeah that's the month that comes after Nevember and before I-lost-500$-uary. If it's a realty good deal you are being taken for a ride.
Sent from my Chromatic Magic using XDA App
A co-worker showed me this and I told him don't jump out the window for it till I poll the community. That Jeb part definitely flagged me!!
The name of the tablet also seems to be photoshopped onto the Xoom... It might be a scam or just a very cheap knock-off from Shenzhen. Either way, I am still waiting for my 25% Xoom

Looks like a pic from a beta version of the XOOM. My opinion, you're better off spending your money on 500 fortune cookies and playing the lottery with the numbers on the back.
I can't say 100% but I think it is a scam...I mean even knock-offs don't look 100% the same as the original.

Call quality - very clear and loud. Perfect.
Wifi - i have recorded speeds of 25mb download
Battery - solely depends on case by case basis i have not used it to play games or watch videos yet and lasts me days and a half before it dies.
Ear phone - its ok for free ear phone. Other members in this forum rate these better.
Hope it helps.

This is like a support video or better to say advertising clip
I don't if it s right But I can see special support from UK websites this year for SonyMobile (that i like it)
& I saw like this from French websites in 2012 (maybe this is just personal opinion)
like other websites that specially support Samsung devices (AndroidAuthority in my eyes)
:good:
I liked reading the review and several of the videos were interesting, too. In particular, I liked the video with all the Z2 video samples in it. The video quality and effects are very impressive to me, and the effects shown actually look useful and not just gimmicky.
Jon at Clove is very neutral in his reviews. Despite selling phones as they sell more than one company

From what I've seen Clove do very good unbiased Demonstrations. Reviews would be more critical of a product.
To echo what phil9309 said earlier,
Having watched the video and read the blog - the blog review is a proper review whereas I suppose yes, the video is more a run-through of the phone and features.

Why the panicked frenzy for Lollipop?

Okay folks, I am as hardcore a geek as anyone else in here, I am certain of that. I am looking forward to Lollipop, and it is certainly a nice design and very pleasing to the eyes... but I don't quite understand why everyone is getting so completely tied up and impatient about it having not arrived, yet. I've used it on my 1st gen Moto G (XT1032) and yeah - it looks VERY nice... but... so what? What tangible and real benefits does it offer over what you all have now? I'm sorry - I am either missing something HUGE, or (which is more likely to be the real issue), we just have an internet of impatient geeks who only desire it BECAUSE it is new and fresh.
My first instincts were these: "Oh wow, it's very nice... but it's not THAT amazing... it's just Android with a new look and a few new options - I can't *quite* see what all the impatience and fuss is about. "
Let me reiterate again; Lollipop is GREAT, but then, so is chocolate, and once you've eaten a bar, your desire tends to diminish, somewhat. Yeah... it's a new OS... but... ah, I dunno... just a lot of hoo haa as usual. I am *not* saying it is not a great OS, I am saying that the hype VASTLY VASTLY exaggerates one's sense of expectation (as I knew it would), and... well... don't get HUGELY excited - it's just Android how it always should have been.
No big deal - don't lose any sleep over it - and don't work yourselves into an impatience rage - it's SO not worth that, with all honesty.
Summary: Lollipop is a new version of Android. If you get excited beyond the point of calm, content, child-like anticipation, you're working yourself up for no reason.
That is all. Have a lovely day.

Not every thread has to have a black and white "purpose" - it's merely my ponderings over the situation - as a human thing - we all have wonderings and thoughts, and yes - MANY people are getting in a real state over this release, and I see no reason for it. That's all, and I just wanted to share my thoughts on the matter, in a calm, balanced manner.
PS: I am not a "guru", nor do I make any such pretense.
