Porting to HTC Evo 4g (supersonic) - Firefox OS General

Trying to port to my evo. Busted screen, but still usable. Nice development device. My progress can be seen on my blog.

Anyone know where to get the frameworks_base repo for the supersonic-ics? Aokp's git repo only has jellybean branches. lame.

ICS evo Rom?

Anyone working on an sdk port? They have stable builds over at ns4g that work flawlessly for the most part. So?

Stable builds and working for the most part is pretty contradictory.
Lol you know what I mean

Sdk ports are useless for the most part. Just wait for Aosp source to drop and I'm sure we'll have a CM9 alpha pretty soon. The Evo is after all very very well supported in the community.
Hurray for that
I know on the evo shift they already have a rom that half works..

CM came out and said they aren't working on CM9 (ICS) until AOSP source is released. They don't want to have anything to do with SDK ports.
Once the ICS source is out, we're gonna see a whole bunch of ports and stuff. I think I'll keep my evo on cm7 until the day when cm9 is out. Might even use boot manager to use whatever cm9 betas are released.
We wont get anything stable tell we have the source for ICS and from i heard it wont be tell mid November and i would take atleast 2-3 for devs to get anything good for are Evo since where not on there top priority list im guessing Evo signiture or Bionic well be the first real port

They're working on cm9. If you really wanted cm7 nightlies its not hard to set up a build environment..
Sent from my HTC Glacier using xda premium
Are you referring to nightlies? If so, they took down the build bot. However, I believe someone built one and uploads fairly frequent builds. Check the dev section.
The CM team is focusing on CM9
Edit. You beat me nic.

AOSP rom port requests here

so i thought i would open up a official port request here i am looking for some new aosp roms to port as the ones i was going to port were taken.. no offense just wanted them for myself lol.. but please post any rom requests here and i will do my best to port them..
Why port? AOSP can be built from source, that is a way better way in making an AOSP based Rom.

There is many guides across the net, the best advice is just dive right in. Then when you get a hang up just ask questions, there is many people that can help out.

Please port UKE
i dunno
some cm9 roms or ics roms?
vicodan why must you be a douche at all times.. uke really already done.. on sdx-developers.com
I was thinking about using my other hard drive to compile from source but most of the guides I've seen are calling for 64bit. I only have a very old school 32 bit setup so I'm out that race LOL

Maybe It's the ICS guide we have written then, because I was going to try to compile from peppermint( uses ubtuntu repositories) but stopped at the 64 bit part LOL

Lol VICODAN is VICODAN, you learn to love it man. If you don't really know how to compile from source though I'd recommend you start there.
I understand wanting to help out and port things users want BUT what happens when there is a bug that requires fixing and you are unable to attempt to fix.
Like one_love_420 said, just dive in and spam IRC ;-)

As stated in the "Getting Started with Arduino" handbook, coding is much like starting a punk band, in that you only need to know three chords. In other words, just get started, you will pick it up as you go (besides, as far as coding goes, with the exception of applescript, it really does not get much easier than android).

Do you realise that we already have a great CM9 port, BCM ICS?
Sent from my Nexus One using xda app-developers app
The BCM is a very good CM9 port if you are thinking about porting ICS i would say have a go on paranoid android at least it will be different from the rest mate
+1 for paranoid
Sent from my Nexus One using Tapatalk 2
Iv tried those port but i dont like them i want one closer to cm9
Sent from my Nexus One using XDA
BCM CM9 is great. and dk_zero_cool is doing an awesome job  . so as other members suggested it would be better to port PARANOID ANDROID which is a cm9 hybrid. so that we have a lot of different ICS roms to choose from
for info on porting paranoid android

Eh? BCM is a port of CM9 for the Nexus One. How closer can you get? Perhaps by buying a Galaxy Nexus?
Please explain!
If BCM is not what you are looking for than CM9 is not what you are looking for to since it is a port built from the cm9 source codes
I want a rom that is just cm9

I on occasion build vanilla cm9 to test. It can be done with mimimal effort. i mean mimimal. literally just by adding the EVERVOLV device/htc/{passion, qsd8k-common, common} and vendor/htc repos to the local_manifest.xml resyncing then checking out the EVERVOLV hardware/qcom/display. then add a cm.mk to the passion repo add the property for dalvik dexopt on data. and its good to go. You're welcome.
I want a exact duplicate of cm9 built forbthe n1
Sent from my Nexus One using XDA
I believe that's what BCM is. It IS a port of CM9, what you are describing is what BCM is. The CM team is not building an official CM9 ROM for the N1, so you have to use a port. Are there any features missing from BCM that you want?

[REQ] Newb to samsungs no newb to dev'

Having an interesting problem when building the kernel outside of an AOSP build env
if i bould outside of CM10.1
IE: building kernel standalone
using build-all.py jflteusc produces a rather large zImage (7.8 megs actually)
I've enabled XZ and ofc brought it down to almost 5.3mb but i still have an issue
it wont boot worth jack....
building with VARIANT_DEFCONFIG=jf_usc_defconfig and other callouts made by the build process for all other defconfigs
also tried with /proc/config.gz and VARIANT_DEFCONFIG=jf_usc_defconfig to no avail
if anyone can point in the right direction i would be greatly appreciative. I just wanna be able to test my Sweep2wake works and cannot figure out this samsung
