I'M Watch - Other SmartWatches

Any comments on this one. It does run a modified version of Android.

too expensive to be any popular and get any third party stuff.

Now It has Any Android APK sideload!!
Please, Help! Which are the best Apps recommended for a small 240x240 screen with only 128MB of ram? Thanks a Million!

i got mine in ebay for 300 not bad

And how to sideload them without the Icloud.

http://www.geckoandfly.com/11188/sony-vs-motorola-vs-im-watch-android-powered-smart-watch-comparison/
Rather than keeping making the same comparison threads over and over again, please just read some reviews and compare the specs. The I'm watch seems to have the best battery life of the three, but the most powerful (again) is the MotoACTV.

not bad, but 300 for a watch ? worth it ?

Yeh I like it
Be nice if we could get some devs on it though

Yes to mod it so it runs a full version of Android.

what can Leo do?

hi all
I'm curious that what can Leo do? After a lot of video of it to show how it's great..where are the strengths and weaknesses of it? Is it a really smart phone?
Thank for your all care!
there are plenty of reviews on the internet, read them.
oh and it is really a smartphone just like almost all listed on this forum

care to explain what a smart function is
Yes what can it actually do?
HTC has blown us bigtime again.
It can´t do enything you expect it to do, exept looking really nice.
HTC cant expect us to always relly on XDA all the time.
This whole scenario reminds me of "the blackstone affair".
When I bought the blackstone I was convinced, after reading almost everything there were to read about it, it was the best phone ever made.
I was convinced this community would fix every flaw.
Everyboy just assumed the xda devs would fix things.
Ok, XDA have made blackstone better that it was at first, but its not the killerphone
I was expecting it to be.
Now after reading about Leo I get the same fealing.
I mean, were is the native multitouch support. I have read posts were people just assume xda will get that. It still have a GPS-lag. No USB-host, wich everyone seam to just say: XDA will get that. It wont! It is just too hard and to time consuming.
So what can Leo do, except look good?
For 700 euro I had expected a lot more!

I know and it makes med sad.
I have bean in this buying coma and just got woken up,
and realised I cant get everything in one phone, if I chose to buy a
HTC phone...
But how come a phone with killer hardware still havent got more to offer,
when both samsung and toshiba G01 has more things to make use of the
hardware?
So what can it do? What use do I have of Leos hardware?
I think this is a nice thread with a good topic.
then don't buy a Leo, simple huh?
Toshiba TG01 lags, care to explain me why? Yet it has the same processor as the HD2. So what is the use of the hardware there (same question)? Same thing on the samsung. Every phone has a fault or something that won't make everyone happen, that's just how it is.
No manufacturer will ever make a phone with everything in it, it's not just HTC that does this. It shouldn't make you sad either, you would do the same if you ran that company, otherwise would bring them about ruin
dont confuse HTC with windows, and iPhone with its respected OS..
HTC made this phone, made a monster, whether it does everything you want or not, its personal opinion, but HTC did make a phone, not the operating system, which is where we get to Windows Mobile, with that OS it depends on the people who make programs for each phone, but we have a ton of windows mobile devices, where each one should have its software designed for it. Now i agree with u, Windows Mobile didnt give us unlimited app's options, they left a big part of that in the hands of other programmers, which is why we are all here on XDA
The iPhone on the other hand, they made the 3 versions of the phone, with all the app's, and then released it, even tho around 90% of the apps are a joke that u install 1 time, play with it for 5 minutes and uninstall it, its still a huge amount of applications.
So you cant really ask if the HD2 can do what the iPhone does, it just takes time for the developers take that "everything i want" and put it into each program
edit: (and i really had to do this ): Dont ask what the Leo can do for you, ask what you can do for your Leo!

I expect my phone to be useful to me, not the other way round.
Oh, don't worry, it will be usefull.
Only problem will be could you use all of it's potentials... and find a way to do that...
Gaining post count
Well, seems to me new users badly need postcounts to get a free HSPL when the time comes.
Someone said, ..O dear... (that what spot on)
For the rest, if people really want 1 device that can do it all, buy
the HTC Shift.
This Hybrid OS device does everything from detecting Higgs particles to transdimensional teleportation, GSM calling and Windows 7 / Windows Mobile 6.1 with HDSPA and builtin stereo speakers and then some.
First impressions...
Ok, here some first user experience after half a day:
PRO's:
- The screen is HUGE!
- Flat device
- New TouchFlo + "multitouch" (only zooming), pressuresensitive
- Most applications and functions are fingerfriendly
- Fast(er than Topaz). See my new benchmark thread
- Led flash (not very good, but better than nothing)
- Much program memory 336 Mb
- Flat leather case, simpel but usefull I think
- 3,5 mm connection
- New micro-usb connection (is that a pro?)
CON's:
- The device is huge! To be honest I was a bit shocked when I first saw it. It's very "wide"...
- My first impression is that the screen is good but no better than the (small) Topaz screen
- Storage memory is low, only 183 Mb
- No stylus! At the moment a big issue for me. Not everything is fingerfriendly, so much frustration. Scrolling is hell! CERTAINLY AN ISSUE BECAUSE THE SCREEN DOESN'T RESPOND ON A STYLUS OR OTHER SHARP OBJECT!!! Hope I will get used to this soon.
- Camera sticks out. The camrea sticks out of the back of the device so the device rests on the silver edges of the camera. Not good for the silver, not good for the camera.
All in all it's impressive...!
Report later when I'm a bit more used to it.
(My Topaz screen look sooooo small now.....)
I completly agree with ETHANIAs first post.
There is also one BIG CON:
"Pretty much all videos under 720p played just fine without any dropped frames. The HTC HD2 has similar issues as Acer neoTouch and has even worse performance. While the neoTouch managed to play the 720p videos with 15-17 fps, the HD2 has an output of only 12-13 frames per second. Not that any of those is actually watchable but it gives you an idea. We guess the graphics subsystem of the Acer neoTouch has a few tricks under its sleeve and it's not a matter of pure CPU clock comparison."
taken from: http://www.gsmarena.com/htc_hd2-review-415p3.php

Reasons to buy a HD2

Hey guys,
On the market for a power user PDA -- prerequisites include:
800 MHz+ processor
3.5mm audio port
powerful graphics (for games and videos).
fast internet experience.
Anyways, I'm tempted by the HD2, mainly due to its stunning screen and its capacitive screen. However I've been tempted by the Acer F1 due to its better scores on benchmarks, and the Omnia/Omnia Pro for the better battery life and keyboard respectively.
My main concern with the HD2 is its battery life -- 1350mAh? A bit low on a device with a 4 inch screen.
I could suppose wait for the HD mini...but there aren't much information out there yet that I can find....
Anyways...give me more reasons to buy the HD2! Is it good for games? How's the internet browsing on it?
You won't be disappointed with the HD2. It is the best device I have ever purchased, bar none. It meets all of your requirements, or exceeds them. Once you have it customized the way you want it, or "make it mine," as HTC says, you'll be extremely pleased with it. It is fast, powerful, customizable, and the battery life is good... better than I expected. I got worse battery performance on my last Nokia touch phone, with a much smaller screen, and less features.
The best reason!

I just got the HD2 as an upgrade just a few days ago, its just blown me away!!
Everything runs so fast, all the things u can customise..totally amazing. I highly recommend getting 1
It's the very single photo showing it. Don't you think someone else would have seen it and taken a pic of it?
There's no "reason" for anyone to come with dozens of fakes everytime Apple is expected to launch a new product either... yet it always happens.

it isnt necassarily fake, thas IS windows mobile 7, none of us will (should) have it yet, but its very likely its some top dog from microsoft showing their new OS off on the most powerful phone available
for me it's the best on the market today, no question about it! it's stubborn like a wild horse at first but once you tame it, nothing else comes close. i can't imagine the phone which will make me sell this.
Can anyone comment on how it would compare with the Acer F1 (which outperforms the HD2 on benchmarks), and the Omnia (which has AMOLED)?
And how much does current programs/games use the capacitive screen? It's untenable to play games without the ability to multi-tap -- but I don't think many games out there allow for that right?
Furthermore, does it have USB Host?
it is just hd2
The acer F1 has half the RAM of the HD2, thats a good reason ;D

I'm tired of X2 and i want to switch

I'm really tired of this crap phone.
it's been months since I still hope that someone releases a hardspl or that SE releases a stable and fast rom...
Now, I begin at look for other phone but i don't know choice
My criteria:
- I write a lot of sms, hard keyboard is mandatory
- Fast processor for to play correctly at emulators and must playable on hard keyboard (Morphgear, FpseCE,...)
- No big phone as HD2, I want it fits easily in pocket, and not too small either
- A good gps and camera/photo+flashlight. This is very important for my job.
- Sync contacts/calendar/tasks/notes with Microsoft Exchange on wifi and usb (I don't use 3G), Andoïd can do it that ?
- Possible to cook roms !
Do you know advise me what phone to choose?
I have the impression that the LG eXpo GW820 meets my criteria, but it is not available in my country.
Sorry for my bad english...
Thank you very much in advance.
i have the same, i choose stay with x2...
you can do some trick to make it faster...
after waiting for resurrection of x2... and waiting again, I have finally bought a htc pro2. It's bigger, yes, but it WORKS! I have made somersaults with it without any problem. I only regret I have lost many with x2.
@amk
I already done that, and my X2 hasn't slideview & crappy panels softwares.
After a lot of tweaks, this phone stays again unpleasant to use...
@vitc
It is good idea but I will not again spend money for a same CPU of 2008 year, because before I had htc s740 => 528 mhz, now X2 => 528 mhz.
I want a cpu more fast.
buy yourself a X10 1 Ghz of pure power and android
I think that isn't practical to write text messages on a touch screen (I'm writing approximately 25 sms per day)
Android knows sync with Exhange (on WiFi and usb)?
Man, you basically got the same requirements as I do and you also figured out LG eXpo fulfils the role, but it is not available (is it really sold somewhere?). I also want resistive screen, therefore no Android. As such I have nothing to choose from. HTC Touch Pro 2 has dated processor, terrible camera and lacks hardware buttons
I consider switching to Symbian, but it lacks the customization potential of WM. Maybe I'll wait what Symbian^3 has to offer, Nokia cameras are very good, so no compromise in this way. Nokia C6 will probably use only current Symbian 6/5, but it looks interesting never the less. Or wait for a MeeGo device.
@Biges
thx for your reply.
After reflection, I'll stay still long on WM.
I love WM, I love customize it.
Yes I'm picky
I'm following this forum in a probably futile hope that maybe, maybe SE just really flexes its muscles and fixes X2. Or someone hacks it for custom ROMs. But I doubt it. Got my eye on Acer M900, but it is very hard to find, not officially in Continental Europe and it is not produced anymore.

Yup, the Acer M900 is the best phone I ever used! I bought it last year and flashed Daskalos' Lite ROM (see my signature) as soon as it was released. You see, basically, everything I throw onto it (the applications I need), just runs! It is a WM6.1 phone, which, IMHO, is an advantage, since it is the last WM version to be fully customizable. Besides, I really don't care about fancy looks, at all. My focus is productivity!
Just my 2 cents...

This is completely relative. In my case (you can see my actual screen in my Avatar) it is a non-issue. It has never run out of memory! Besides, I have absolute control over running applications (WkTask, pBar). With the Lite ROM, I usually have 55MB of RAM free.

Yup, people's needs are quite different. If you plan to use memory hungry applications, like fancy UIs, then you might find 128MB to be too short, indeed.

This smart watch has android, is inexpensive, has a pulse monitor, and "e-ink" screen. I wanted to know if it is any good. It has the same cpu as the SmartQ Z1 but is much thinner 9.5 mm.
Thoughts?
No SIM or WiFi, 320mAh battery. Android 4.2.
I'm sure it's a good piece for those that prefer notifies. I guess someone will have to buy it and test it.

Yeah no SIM sucks, or WiFi, no Compass, no GPS. But it does have Bluetooth 4.0/2.0 whatever that is... anyone know if that is a mistranslated 4.2?
That is a small battery true 320mAh but that possibly leads to the lighter weight, lower height of the watch which is 9.5mm thick.
It does have Android 4.3 actually, and it uses the same cpu as the SmartQ Z1 which is already ported. It only has 512 megs rom and 512 megs ram, which will be a problem for adding apps, that right there is almost enough to kill it.
The big thing it does have is.
Pulse Monitor
E-Ink Background, it switches between e-ink and TFT seamlessly, there is a youtube video that makes me want to buy this watch.
Run time is 7 days on paper, while displaying time 100% of the time using e-ink (very cool)
It has android so it can be upgraded at some point by the ppl in this forum!!!
If there is something similar / better out there for the same money let me know before I buy this one! I am leaning toward this one mainly because it is so thin, its actually thinner than the apple watch (10.5mm)

So, there is the Reedone X1 which is interesting but does not have the low power e-ink TFT thing going for it. I like the specs but dont like the 11mm thickness and lack of e-ink TFT.

Does anyone have a recommendation for a smart watch then?
This looks the same as GearBest are selling as Atongm WO13 http://www.gearbest.com/smart-watches/pp_166847.html and has the same display as he MiMi Mi-W3/Podoor PW305II http://www.gearbest.com/smart-watches/pp_139964.html
I looked at this a few weeks ago but could see no advantages over the Mi-W3 I already own plus the following disadvantages:
Not waterproof - the MiMi is IP67 rated.
Much larger in height.
Proprietary charging cradle - what is the point when it isn't waterproof and uses exposed electrodes? Just something else to lose or break.
Edited to add: The BT 4.0/2.0 is because it uses a dual module that connects with either 2.0 or 4.0 protocols dependent on the device it is connecting to.

I don't believe it is Android based, apart from the splash screen there is nothing in the videos or adverts to suggest that it is. As it uses an Ingenics XBurst CPU I would guess it uses a version of their MIPS compiled Linux.
Although on Pandawill and Geekbuying, it clearly states Android 4.3 as the OS. Also, didn't the smart Q run on the same JZ4775 chip and run Android? i'll check with all the china shops tommorow and see what they say about the OS.
LightInTheBox says Android too, I was just going on the videos and screenshots, neither of which look like any Android I've seen, but of course it could be heavily customised.
Read the reviews of the NO.1 G2. Doesn't sound like a good buy. I'd definitely wait to see what the S7ler or others reviews have to say about the Sun.
maybe they mean it's compatible with android, not running it as an os?

I saw a video of the No. 1 S2 and the screen goes to the edges and beyond. I saw lettering go past the screen, which looks glitchy. I was tempted because of how slick it looks but they didn't do any work on switching the square scene to a round screen.

maybe they mean it's compatible with android, not running it as an os?

Geekbuying claims it has Android 4.3 on it....but still not 100% convinced.

Yes, It does. that video shows the Android boot animation, plus Android is the only OS JZ4775 supports.

I am torn between this one and the Reedone HG-X1.
ISI X2 :
72.08 - Lowest Price
TFT Screen, Heart Rate Monitor, Pedometer, etc...
Reedone HG-X1:
80.99 - Lowest Price (black plastic?) at
Same as ISI X2
+GPS
+Waterproof
+Built in USB Connector
- 1mm thicker at dial
They are very similar. I have not seen a video on the Reedone yet though.
Any thoughts on these? Do they actually run Android? Would android gear be portable to these?

Gaming capabilities?

Hello I have a nvidia shield tablet and I know it's a beast and it plays games really smoothly. How's this for gaming please. I know the specs on this aren't great on paper but your views are very much welcome thanks.

I can't speak for gaming, but video playback is pretty amazing since I usually only watch 720hdp or greater. Despite all of the apps Amazon has running nearly 100% of the time, in my opinion this tablet vastly under uses the CPU. If you look around and find the threads to uninstall system apps, you can free up a significant portion of wasted memory. Truthfully, not many questions come across this section of XDA relating to gaming.
Thanks am very sceptical about this anyway it's only a couple of quid so might just buy and check it out.

You also have a 30 day period to try it or send it back. It works to replace, but not sure about refund.
