Yep, just updated through Kies, it's a long winded process, just let Kies do it's thing, I'm now on 4.1.2 uk, build JZO54K.N8010XXUCMA5 :good:

Who knows, can't say I've been bothered.
There is also a new 'ticker' feature for your lock screen, you can get feeds from facebook, news or stocks..check that out, there may also be some new multi window apps, can't remember seeing youtube there before.

I believe the update should fix the exploit i am not sure though this post explains it.

also i realy like the update s-pen and s-note are much better as is multi window i just have reservations about the stock gallery it seems to keep syncing to something but i have sync switched off?

oh is there sounds good i will have to check it out.
i cant see youtube on mine and im still on 4.1.1
its a shame that you cant have all your apps in multi window without rooting your device and that, pretty annoying tbh.
i think i read you can modify the appone by one but thats long specially if u have to update the app etc n have lots of apps on your device

This is update for those who DIDN'T have 4.1.2 before?
Or is this update an update ON TOP of 4.1.2?

This is the official update for the UK to 4.1.2 as we seem to have been waiting for a long time. Cannot comment on whether it is any different to other countries 4.1.2 but nice to see I can now run standard Android Twitter client as a multi-window app.

Could anyone upload this firmware? I can't download it from kies as im not on official firmware

Might be on sammobile.com...

Not on Sammobile at the moment.

Dont remember seeing lecture notes & papyrus as multi window apps prior to the update today, but they are in the list now for sure.

New apps added with multi-window on my Note are:- Astro File Manager, ChatOn, Chrome, Facebook, Gmail, Google Maps, MX Player, Google Talk, Twitter and YouTube. I know I had Papyrus in 4.1.1 and I think I may have had MX Player but not sure on that one.

Multi-window seems a little difficult to make work sometimes - the multi-window button appears in the bottom right corner on some of these and doesn't always work, seeming to activate whatever is under the button. Also can't see the button anywhere on Papyrus - how does it work on here - this would be really useful for me?

At last youtube and snotes on stock multiwindow!!
and being able too edit which apps and in what order they appear on the multi window bar, this tablet gets better and better

Unfortunately it looks like they still haven't fixed the, USB storage not being recognised, problem.

Lads if I used the Exynos exploit root patch to root my 8010 can I just do the OTA update and then the device will return back to stock i.e. not rooted?

[Q] How to update to the new Market?

I haven't received any notification for a Market update.
Any clue on how to accomplish this?
I'm currently on VillainROM 2.0.
You won't. Normally Google pushes them to all android phones. But you need to download the file individually.
There is an .apk somewhere in the forums you can search and install if you can't wait for it
may be try this thread

I found it to be very laggy and slow compared the the older market which im still using,i also don't like the Windows 7 style layout either plus you cant see your own apps on the screen unless you press the meu button.

Hmm, true true. It is indeed a rip-off of the tiles system on WP7. But, I dunno about you, this is refreshing. Hehehe, something about the tiles on my market feels nice!
Another thing - the new market can only download one app at a time, on the old market you could select "update all" so that's another bad thing.

How to update to it officially? I mean when I open the old market there is no notification for updating!

From what I remember, it will hapen and you won't even notice until it's there. One day you will open the market and it will be the new version.
I tried it but I'm unable to download and update a single app. The progression bar is loading but it never starts. I guess I'll wait for an official release.
By the way, does Google automatically updates rooted phones (or phones with a custom ROM), because I'm currently with VilainROM2.0....I thought we had to update manually.

Interesting .. now that you talk about it .. I already HAD the new version. My apps in menu, no update all .. exactly .. but now I have the old one again ! And I did not manually update anything, and I run all stock german/czech t-mobile rom.

Xperia play update 4.0.a.2.368

So i just updated my phone to 4.0.a.2.368 and i noticed a lot of really nice changes. Since there aren't any official notes (or at least not ones i can find) i will be posting changes i noticed here along with personal opinion on some of them without a particular order...
xLOUD-The soundspeaker loudness is greatly increased and the sound is so much better.
Media Player-When you play a song the backround of the player changes to a color most noticable in the album art
-looks great
Infinity Button Upgraded-You can now search for artist on wikipedia, lyrics on google and karaoke videos on youtube.
-Finally the button is useful
Lock Animation-It is changed to an old-style tv turn off
-It looks great and kinda gives nostalgia
App Refresh on Reboot-Before i updated my phone every time i rebooted it I had to let it ''sit'' for 5 minutes so it loads all the apps from the sd card and if you opened the menu you would have to reboot it again...but now it shows an icon on every non-loaded app that quickly refreshes to give the real app
-yes yes yes my brother always said its the worst thing about this phone so now i can rub it in his face
Themes-Basically like wallpaper but changes the background of some apps like Messaging
Messaging-Now it opens up so much faster and has a different boot animation
Call handling-You can now manage what calls you receive and block
-I was always wondering why wasn't this already included,i mean all my older phones have it
Timescape-Doesn't freeze when you move the widget and scrolls a lot smoother,in addition Extension Manager has been added so you can get more content to Timescape from more sites and you can also see calls and messages.
Wireless Radio-It seems like its power is increased and you don't get disconnected from older routers altho i haven't been able to test this longer than 30 minutes.
Status switch Widget-The old 4x1 has been replaced with a new 3x2 one
-It looks ugly and it messed up my perfect widget arrangement
Weather widget-Pretty self explanatory
-Now i can delete space-consuming Weatherbug
Favorites and Recent Calls Widget-Also self explanatory
-Its huge but i guess it is useful and at least looks nice
Be sure to add stuff you notice and i will update more stuff tomorow
Be sure to say thanks...as you can see I'm a noob and a pioneer from my country
Already a thread about it. ;-)

I got the update via OTA today (Philippines) and I still have root. Rooted using Gingerbreak 1.20.
OTA for UK now also
preys this fix the ****ty wifi issues *finger crossed*
Bad news for me, the OTA udpate fails on the fourth dot.
Does this mean I deleted an app that it checks to see if you are on stadard build>? Do I have to go back to Uk Generic and root then ota?

@nelly_boy & Xplay. If you have uninstalled anything from your phone after rooting. The ota update will fail.
As you have said nelly_boy you will have to reflash to 2.3.2 to get the stuff you deleted back then root then do the ota to get 4.0.a rooted.
@Xplay. You dont have to unroot to ota update. The whole point of updating using ota is to keep root.

Arrived on mine too about a hour ago and I'm not impressed! Swiftkey and browsers are making it a mare to get them to work together, still having problems editing text boxes too - it still won't place the cursor where you press! Where the hell is ICS Samsung?
The OTA update failed for me, doing it via Kies now. Is it because I have rooted?
Downloaded and just installing now. Will let you know how it goes.
Just finished installing and everything seams fine. Should i do a factory reset people?
Installed through Kies and it worked. Lost root and CWM recovery but that's simple to get back. Now the wait for ICS begins lol
still odd behaviour even after a reboot, quick reply on this site doesn't work full stop! Anyone else got this?
Got the update last night, everything working for me fine. Bit annoyed Google Books is now preinstalled but I can live with it. I noticed Kobo Book reader was also installed so got rid of that and another couple of new apps i have never heard of.
Is it advisable to do a factory reset as others have suggested?
upgraded to 3.2 today
Thanks to this thread I saw the upgrade was available and just upgraded
I have looked for the upgrade regularily.. then stopped as i got bored of looking.
Interestingly I didn't get the over the air notification that it was avialable like I did for the last upgrade.
I'm on a Vodafone supplied GT7500
First impression after an hour : very minor functional changes, minor aesthetic changes, reasonable speed improvement.
I have a lot of background apps, adw launcher with 9 screens full of widgets so my tab was starting to get pretty laggy. Now its significantly better.
First post on xda -thanks to all those who have put info on here

Download the latest official p7500XX firmware (not sure which is the latest official) from here and use odin to flash. Do a factory reset after flashing.
Download the CSC Select app off the Market after flashing and choose XEU. This will also factory reset your device so dont customise it yet and cancel any automatic market downloads.
This thread is about the p7510 as it has just received the 3.2 update whereas the p7500 has had 3.2 for a month or two.
Hope this helps

This was the first release of the 3.2 XEU for P7500 in the UK also.
My impressions after a full wipe:
1) The screen is noticably more sensitive and accurate.
2) Reader's Hub is included.
3) AllShare's included.
3) Loaded with a ton of apps and widgets the UI's a lot more fluid.
4) The UStrings stays on "desktop" once it's set.
5) The browser's less clunky
5) The page top/bottom bounce has been replaced with the blue glow.
6) The Gallery's different.
7) Minor cosmetic tweaks.

I have just done the over the air update, download was just under 100Mb and the update took about 1/2hour with the tablet turning off completely and me having to turn it on holding the power for a few seconds, then it sat at the Samsung logo for ages before eventually starting up.
Initial impressions are very good.
Much smoother, even when the free RAM is low
Haven't tried live wallpapers yet!
The Memo app is better for finger input, faster response, almost there
Sketchbook Pro drawing app is still a bit slow in drawing
AntiPaper is also slow at drawing, compared with Memo - weird
Browser is much improved, more accurate touch, smoother scrolling though still a bit of a rubber band in content catching up with my finger movements when scrolling
New update to Google Books but still no highlighting, definition, notes like they have in the Chrom Google Books App - I suppose it will come eventually
A few issues for me, can someone check these as I may have to root, titanium backup and factory reset...
The default Video Player doesn't open
Samsung Hub doesn't open and hangs
EDIT:
Last night the tab rebooted itself and since then the default Video Player has been operating as normal !!!
Just a warning to anyone who is using titanium. Copy all the folders you want to keep, including titanium, on your pc.
If you do a factory reset (recommended) after flashing, as I did yesterday, you will lose *everything* on your sdcard. I had an old backup from November on my pc, took me hours to bring everything back to date. And I lost all my progress on a couple of games.... *grumble*.
Otherwise I agree it's a definite improvement. And I liked how they finally fixed honeycomb bar, now it disappears nicely when watching videos, so I don't have to use an extra app as root to hide it.
It has also arrived in Norway

HiYa from Scotland!!
It's early days, but I'm sure guys will be into 4.0.4 and find out exactly what's good and what isn't. Just one thing, don't factory re-set until we see positive news about the eMMc brick bug that affects the SGN running ICS

My galaxy note is running perfectly now, that means faster, and I dont' have to do all those tricks to get a deep sleep.
However, what I am about is this feature that I read somewhere. Too bad I was in a hurry that time, and didn't get a chance to save the link , but what it mentioned was that this "premium" version gave the capability where you can directly write into the s-note app, without the need to open the app. I am imagining that if you you have it on your main screen, you can directly write to it already, unlike before when it needed to open the app before you can do something.
Was these all true? or did I assume wrong?

S Memo doesn't open after ICS 4.0.4 Update on GT-N7000
Hi Folks,
I updated my GT-N7000 to ICS 4.0.4 update (87Mb, India) through OTA, and after that the S Memo doesn't open at all. The Application does 'open' but gives a black screen before displaying a message, 'Unfortunately, S Memo couldn't open' and gives me an option to cancel or wait.
Its been a few days since the update and i tried emptying cache, clearing application data and also wiping partition cache but none of it worked.
Please provide a solution for this issue as S Memo is like a canvas for me.
Thanks
does anyone know if its safe to root from here directly and flash from it directly? or do i still need a aosp before flashing new roms

S8/S8+ Oreo Beta is live!!!

There's 10,000 slots available instead of the Sammobile reported 7500 slots available. Once you click a few agreements, you get in automatically but then nothing happens. You have to force the update by going into Settings\Software update. The update happens normally then. The settings menu has changed quite a bit, Oreo is MUCH snappier (especially reboots), and some icons have changed. The warning in the last screenshot comes up automatically about 20 seconds after each reboot. Good luck getting in!!! :highfive:

The OTA downloads to the /cache folder which non-rooted users don't have access to. I wasn't rooted and I don't think you can be in order to join the Beta. Trust me, Sammobile would have posted it already if this was possible.

Sure, you could flash the modem if anyone could get the OTA but I'm pretty sure it'd be quite difficult. Since we're not rooted, you'd literally have to catch the OTA transmitting over your WiFi network onto your PC and then extract it. Which reminds me....
@bogdi1988 - Perhaps it's not showing up for you because you're not connected to a WiFi network. Make sure you're logged in to your Samsung account in Galaxy Apps and that all your Samsung Apps are up to date (the only way they update is when on WiFi.) Then check the Samsung+ app to see if it shows up for you. Hope this helps.

I updated hours ago and have rebooted several times since updating. I don't think I'd have a chance of finding the file name at this point. It would've been best to start a logcat right before initializing the OTA.

My "upgrade" did not go well. Turns out that package disabler pro is not playing nice with this update. I kept getting Android system has stopped and couldn't even load the main home screen. I gave up finally and hard reset and resintalled all my apps. I also had a pretty bad problem with the battery draining faster than it was charging on a wall plug. Factory reset was a pain to reinstall everything (still ongoing as I need apps, I reinstall them) but the battery issue has disappeared. Can't tell if WiFi is any better. Opinions on this release would be most welcome.

You're complaining about a third party app that disables stock apps that is NOT updated to support Oreo yet not playing nice with a Beta build??? Absurd. I'm quite sure the upgrade went as smoothly for everyone else as it did me.
As for my feedback, I haven't noticed a single hiccup with the build. It doesn't feel like a Beta. It seems like it could've been a final/official build.
Samsung+ never showed the update to me. Oh well. :crying:
Yes, I'm on T-Mobile S8+ in US.

It's not about "showing" it to you. They're pushing it to almost everyone. I spoke with 3 other guys who signed up and registered through the Samsung app and it pushed it on the next update.

So you see, I don't think my Samsung account is registered to their Beta program. I have never seen links to do so.
I guess as a small consolation, Samsung/TMo pushed a Nougat update out: https://www.sammobile.com/firmwares/galaxy-s8/SM-G955U/TMB/download/G955USQU1AQJ8/193749/

LOL, that wasn't a "complaint" that was an observation. As noted by the no complaint and an observation comment. As far as not noticing it's a beta, would that be between the 15 or so times per minute that the software pops up a warning that this is beta software and may not work as well as expected and may cause problems? That not obvious it's a beta message? Also, the bad battery drain was an issue. That shouldn't happen no matter what.
