Well, then download an app like ES File Explorer and look for the book. Must be in
Media, My Files, Books

The Opposite Needed
The Google books app on the play store isn't available in my country.
Is there any other way, i.e, any third part app which allows me to download them from the google books store to my nook?

Hi
I have just recently purchased a new zoom wifi off eBay (live in Australia)
And on the homescreen I have the books shortcut, but its not installed, trying to run says its not installed
So I'm wondering... is this normal? I can not find books on market so does it not work in Australia?
Also could someone supply with the books apk as I do want this
Thanks

No sry
Hi.
No it doesnt work outside of the US.. I live in EU and its banned here for some reason..So Kindle app it is for me..
However,m you can install books and use it by tricking the xoom..
Install books on your smartphone, use MarketEnabler to a US carrier...
Install books, use Astro File manager to create a backup of the books app..
Email the backup books app to your xoom and install.. uninstall the update..
And it works

[Q]Can I put .mobi from my computer to KF?

Hi, Im really interested to buy a KF, it look it no a big deal, but 199dls is, from my point view, excelent if we think about ROMs and the best place to do that, xda developers.
I just want to know a few thinks:
1.- Can I put kindle books (mobi) from my computer to KF?...
2.- Same before but with apk files, can I send .apks from my computer to KF and then install those apps?..
Please if someone know this answer me, and sry about my basic english
1. The Kindle for PC, Kindle for Android, and e-ink Kindle all allow this so the odds are good that it will work. I use Calibre to convert my stuff to .mobi and add the Amazon ID so whispersync works.
2. Yes, sideloading is possible and there is an app called easy installer that makes it....."Easy"

I'm new to this, but how do you add the Amazon ID as you described above so that Whispersync works? I've been searching on the web and I can't seem to find anything.
Thanks!
Just tried it on my kf and it works =)

It's a plugin for the Calibre ebook manager it's called the Amazon Metadata Download Plugin.
From within Calibre, there is an edit MetaData button. You can choose to search lots of places, make sure Amazon is checked, but leaving the others checked as well doesn't hurt if you are having cover problems, it still gets Amazon ID.
Hope this helps.

Was it sideloading .apk's or copying .mobi that you tried. Grats on getting your Fire already.
i just uploaded the .mobi directly into the books folder that is on the fk mount

[Q] epub without conversion?

Can the Kindle Fire read epub without conversion? Or is there an app in their App Store that can do it? I have a lot of epub books, and it would be nice if I didn't have to convert them even though I know it's pretty easy with Calibre.
If you can sideload the Nook app, you will have no problem.

If you have any other type of Kindle device (Android app, e-ink, etc.) it's worth it to convert as you can get bookmark syncs going. Otherwise Baldbear is right, Nook and Aldiko both support epub and there are many others I am sure.
Just install Mantano Reader.
Does epub.
Or sideload the nook app. Or as you said, use Calibre to convert the files and send them to your kindle.

Oh god, why would you pay that? Go grab a copy of FBReader (sideload) or Aldiko (Amazon market) and use that.

Maybe because you like the app better than the others. It's not insane to pay for an app that works better for you.
I'm just offering options. To each his own.

Amazon blocks Aldiko installs on the Fire from their AppStore -> lame move Amazon.
Side-loading still works though.

[Q] Add .PDF to Google Playbooks

Hello guys, I have a Nexus 7 with several books downloaded from Google Play. However, a friend just sent me a .rar with about 200 books and I want to add them to Google Play Book.
I've been trying to look for the folder where the downloaded books are but couldn't find it; as you probably know there is no option to manually add books within the application...so I have 2 choices, either force the .pdf into the app or read them with another app, but I really like PlayBook and as I already have quite a library there, I want to use it for the new books that my friend sent me.
Is there any way to do this?
In case there is no way: How can I export my PlayBook books so I can add them to another app and have everything in one place?
Easiest way is just to download a PDF reader from Google Play.

That's exactly what I want to avoid, I'm some kind of organization freak and I like to have everything in one place and enjoy the features of the app with everything that can be done with it...so I would REALLY prefer to find a way to add the .pdf books to the Google Play Book app
Not possible

Istalling apps on a rooter nook simple touch

Hi
I used NookManager to root the device, but I dont know how to install more apps mainly apps like cool reader. aldiko etc., I can see Amazon app store but not Google Play Store - How do I go about this, do I need to first Google Play Store app first from some other source and start downloading other apps via that?
Also, I wanted to have the no refresh to be activated to reduce the screen refresh and flashing. How to do this please.
I also saw this video on YouTube:here. Please advice me as to how to achieve this,
I want pinch zoom to view comics and magazines with heavy layout and images while still maintaining the font resize feature typical to e-reader.
thanks
S
Anyone out there?

If you continue reading that thread I linked to there's instructions on how to get Google apps on the device. I personally use Dropbox for uploading apps to and then download them to the Nook.
