Oppo Find 5 Root with CASUAL - Oppo Find 5

Introduction
Here's a one-click root method for the Oppo Find 5. You can find source here: https://code.google.com/p/android-casual/source/browse/#svn/trunk/GUI/src/SCRIPTS
The way this works is it will reboot your device into fastboot, boot a kernel, inject root and SuperSU(available on Android Market), set permissions, test itself and let you know if it passed or failed.
CASUAL also provides an unroot option to remove root permissions. This can also be done from within SuperSu.
Instructions
Open CASUAL with JAVA. Do you have Java?
Select which script you want (root or recovery_
Click the do-it button
All scripts in CASUAL are automated. Simply click the button and it will "do it". If you are a windows user, please ensure you are using proper drivers.

About CASUAL
CASUAL stands for Cross-platform ADB Scripting, Univeral Android Loader. CASUAL jar files are a wrapper for the CASUAL scripting language. CASUAL allows rapid and accurate deployment of hacks and exploits. CASUAL allows for automatic updating of its scripts via pushes to the SVN server at android-casual.googlecode.com. While I expect no problems at all, if at any time a serious problem is detected with the script, i can flip a kill switch to shut CASUAL downand you will be brought to a support page.... most likely here. This is intended to add a level of security so that you know this will be safe.

Thank you very much. I will check it in few days
Edit: And, for sure, if it works, you will have a beer

Thanks a lot Adam. Will try this today.

Thank you for the script. I will try it in soon days, when I will receive my Oppo Find 5 32GB. The device is still in Guangzhou Good that I am in China

Nice,now to get it....

Could you please confirm it will work in any Oppo Find 5? Or only in Oppo Find 5 with international firmware?

It should work with all, unless there is some sort of locked down version.

I've read you have Chinese version. Is that right? If so, what about Gapps? Does them run with no problem?

Yes.

thanks for your hard work
but i have a problem:
I startet ubuntu from a CD and installed the libusb.
But there is no way the "Hack Pack" could recognize the x909.
USB-Debugging is on.
I also tried it in windows. I installed the adb driver for my x909 but the "Hack Pack" cannot recognize it either.
Do know where there could be a failure?
Thanks

Wow,
Bought the phone last Friday @ ebay.com , [ getting it in about a week or so..]
and now there is root ! :silly:
Thanks for this Adam, I really appreciate it

Any plans for it's own forum?
BTW. How much did you spend on this thing, and from where? I'd like to get one as well... (If they release the sources, that is.)

There may be an update which you need. I applied a manual update last week which made ADB work properly with all previous versions of ADB. You also need drivers. I don't know which ones yet.

think I'm going to wait for the Int'l launch before getting it... probably no warranty for those chinese versions bought on ebay(and ebay/chinese resellers - >$600... oppousa.com website says $500)
might want to put th emodel number (x909), helps for searching
@those who have the device, how is it? most youtube videos/reviews have the beta version of the phone, or are just walking advertisements, wondering how good the final retail version is

Thanks for your response.
Do you mean an update for the phone? Where did you get it?
Or an update for the computer? The installation of ubuntu is completly fresh. I just added the libusb and java to run the "Hack Pack".
Did ubuntu immediately recognize your Oppo Find 5 with only libusb installed additionally? Or what software do i need furthermore?
I would like to use the Gapps but if i install the play store from an apk, it just force closes all the time. (like every other gapp)
Greetings

International firmware released:
http://www.oppoforums.com/threads/find-5-beta-firmware-x909en_13_130206.563/#post-10744
I suppose, CASUAL also works with it, right?

EDIT :actually, info better posted on a separate thread (as this thread is for rooting the phone)
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=37684053&postcount=32

Solution?

Can't be a better way to start off 2010 then having a ROOTED Nexus One in your hand, posting in this thread from formally posting in the DREAM (G1) thread!!!
Cheers and Happy New Year!!!!!!!!!!
Come on January 5th!!!!!!
Absolutely brilliant!
The SECOND this thing hits the intertubes, I'm all over it.
so glad to see this rooted before its even released. good news for us
Does this mean that current "preview"-nexus one phones DO have an unlocked SPL?
What happens if the one sold online DOESNT?
In that case I doubt you will be able to replace it easily if you don't have root or fastboot... (in case it only accepts signed update.zip files and no fastboot mode and such...)
I guess another hack/exploit would be required if that was the case...
Lol this topic title is a little misleading.
You can run "Homebrew" without root. You just need to make sure that the "Install from unknown sources" option is ticked.
Happy New Year Cyanogen! This is indeed great news!

assuming it works the same as other android phone, fastest wasy to get tether is using PDAnet by June Fabrics. its on the market and also available to download via their website http://www.junefabrics.com/android/index.php
its free trial and when the trial ends, you cannot use it to connect to https sites. http works fine.
drivers you need are just the std adb drivers, should be installed the first time you connect the phone to your pc.

I made the move from WinMo, which I used since the Cassiopeia days, to Android and have never looked back. Don't even think twice. Android has everything plus a whole lot more. You want file managers? There are so many different 5-star file managers that I have a hard time choosing between them.
Don't sweat the WinMo-to-Android move. It was the BEST gadget decision I've ever made. The only problem is that I am utterly and hopelessly addicted to playing with the platform. But I suppose there could be worse things.

[Oppo Finder x907] Looking for Root/CWM/ROM

Hello,
just bought this fantastic phone in China. The question is to know if some non chinese ROM exists in order to use full google applications or is there any possibility to install google applications ?
I can have access to the Recovery but full chinese => Is there any chance to move to english ?
I think this smartphone is fantastic and need a English forum (most of the informations are in chinese) in order to fully use it.
BR
Any Chinese language schools near you?
Not really but perhaps I should spend more time to learn chinese
One of my interest would be that a MiUI ROM (English) could be delivered. It seems one already works in chinese...but not official.
I bought this phone too, you can download with your pc the Google Play APK, put on the phone the apk file, and install it with the explorer included into the original rom. With google play, you can dowload all the google application you need.

Ok, thanks for your answer. i'm going to try. I do not need any root or something else ?
It seems that also somebody was able to install MiUI...hopr it will be possible in the near future from MIUI website.
No, no need to be root =)
If you want to root your phone, I can post the method here.
I hope that a MiUI ROM will be available for this phone =)
I'm toying with the idea buying this phone or the Oppo Find 5 when it comes out. Being able to mod the OS for english is my primary concern before purchasing.
I was even thinking of buy the Goophone. It would be awesome just irritate Iphone fanboys. The price for the Goophone is pretty cheap but the specs are a little lacking and not quite sure if the frequencies are right for ATT either.

Rooting Instructions + CWM (Chinese Only though)
Hey guys, I kinda unlocked it already and would like to share the procedure:
0. Download the following files:
driver_2012-01-31.rar - X907 Windows Drivers
anzhi-recovery-x907-cn-mod.7z - Root + CWM
Finder+Root.zip - Superuser/Busybox/etc
***Upload Finder+Root.zip first into your X907***
1. Power off the X907 by pressing the power button for more than 7 seconds (screen blanks off)
2. Go to fastboot mode by holding the upper volume button (+) and plug in any microUSB cable (plugged in to your PC of course). The X907 should stay in the "Find" boot screen. That should signal the fastboot mode and the phone then should be detected by the PC.
3. Use the driver_2012-01-31.rar file above to install drivers under Windows Device Manager
4. Once detected/identified properly, run rootx907.bat from the anzhi-recovery-x907-cn-mod.7z file.
5. Restart into Recovery Mode by first unplugging the microUSB cable then turning the device off (just press the power button for a few seconds until screen turns off) then press volume down (-) and power button together until the device vibrates, then let go of both buttons. Initially the screen should stay blank then it goes into CHINESE CWM
6. Now the confusing part - the CWM I found is only in Chinese so please bear with me. I've attached a photo of the CWM and the English counterpart of the choices. Select the SECOND option by navigating using the volume down (-) button then pressing the power button. Then press the power button again for the FIRST option to select a zip file from your SD card, then locate the Finder+Root.zip file and press the power button again.

Great work. It works great. Thanks for your work.
Is there a way to install gapps or at least the playstore? If so can someone help this newb out with a step by step process.

[App] Install recovery by app - Infamous Performance

I have added the Ouya to supported devices to my app - Infamous Performance. Now you don't need to connect to a computer to install a custom recovery. You have to be rooted already! Download app (here or Playstore Link then downolad the recovery.img from here or any other thread (i just renamed OuyaCWMrecovery6.0.3.2.img to recovery.img so the app will find it.) Place recovery on the internal SD (ouya storage) Install the app then scroll to tools. Click on flash recovery then navigate to your recovery.img. and install. It will install and reboot into recovery. Make sure you have a keyboard plugged in before it reboots or you won't be able to navigate in recovery. Last when you reboot out of recovery make sure to disable recovery install (it will ask you to.) Thanks to all the developers who have worked on this device, I always appreciate everyone's hard work. I am kind of retired so I won't be starting any projects on this device. Enjoy!

Looking forward to trying this, I have never completed all the tweaking necessary to customize my OUYA and make it run smoothly. I keep finding old information around the net which makes it difficult, lot of outdated stuff. Thanks!
Not supported?
Hi
The app looks great! I got it to run but when I click the recovery field it says my device is not supported.
I'm currently running stock Ouya OS chupacabra with the current update.
Any ideas on what to do next to get'er running to install CWM recovery?
Thanks
Hmm. I'll have to look at the build.prop for your model. I thought I covered them all. Can you get me a screen shot of what exactly it says? Thanks man.

Got the screen shot uploaded. It's attached and not posted in full screen on the thread.
Also, I'm using the apk on this thread and not the one from the play store.

Hey Jamison, I attached the screen shot of what I'm getting.
I installed it the app from the playstore.
If you can fix it, I'll gladly donate.

I'll use this guide

Jamison hasn't responded but just gotta be patient, Jamison's probably busy with life stuff of trying to update the app for the Ouya or other Android activity he's involved in.
Am I the only one that got it installed?
Thought I would just update this post instead of posting another. Question for anyone and please keep in mind I am fairly new to Android:
What is supposed to happen when you select 'Override Internal SD Path'?
Should it prompt you for something or does it just do it? I did quite a few searches and came up empty. I know it's probably self explanatory to many but not I. I am finally getting around to testing the functionality of this tool but probably not the best person for it given my limited knowledge at this point. It seems to be working on my Ouya.
I originally posted this becaus I was wondering if anyone has gotten this installed on an Ouya other than I. I came to the Ouya game really late, my primary reason for purchasing it was XBMC and to dive a little deeper into Android. While I have certainly not tested each function available in this tool I was able to get it installed without a problem and the cache cleaner appears to work. I am by no means skilled in the Android OS so there are lots of things I am still learning, not sure I would be able to tell if some of the functions work as I don't understand what they are supposed to do. I love to tweak/tinker, think that's probably common across most of the folks that visit the forums. Between running XBMC on the bedroom tv and having a little platform to play around with Android the Ouya was well worth the $50. I am on a Stock Ouya (rooted) and I used the apk that was attached to this thread, not the one from the Play Store. Just wish everything wasn't so out of date, I always get a little nervous about installing something that hasn't even been discussed in 8 - 12 months. This tool being an exception, thank you Jamison and hoping you continue to develop for these little boxes but fully understand why it would be hard to justify.

I have added the Ouya to supported devices to my app - Infamous Performance. Now you don't need to connect to a computer to install a custom recovery. You have to be rooted already! Download app (here 'link removed' then downolad the recovery.img from here or any other thread (i just renamed OuyaCWMrecovery6.0.3.2.img to recovery.img so the app will find it.) Place recovery on the internal SD (ouya storage) Install the app then scroll to tools. Click on flash recovery then navigate to your recovery.img. and install. It will install and reboot into recovery. Make sure you have a keyboard plugged in before it reboots or you won't be able to navigate in recovery. I posted a comment asking about a function within the app but have since answered my own questions. I still wonder:
1). Is this wofking for anyone else on an Ouya?
2). Is it somehow 'defunct' at this point or will it be further developed?
Regardless, appreciate the effort Jamison.

I have used it on two Ouya's myself and it worked. What issue are you having? Thanks and sorry for the delay
Which other devices are supported to install recovery or kernels? I'm on htc one x.
I think I have those already. Is that the M7 or M8? I can add devices pretty easily
Doesn't install recovery nor kernels on my one x from your app
Yes. This is because I have to add support for each device. If still interested I can add it

impossible to remove google account on an old lg k8 qualqoom

Hello friends. I have spent a week trying methods that I knew about before and many others that I have seen on the internet without getting any results to delete an old google account from a mobile that came in a batch that I bought on ebay to repair. I did not take the precaution of deleting the google account that I previously had and now no system works for me.
I have searched a lot on the forum but there is hardly any information about this k8 M200N model with qualqoom processor. The fact is that I have bought a new screen and some more accessories to repair it and now I still have a brick. I also don't see any development via rom that I can install in download mode. I installed the official one through the lgup software but the only thing I have managed is to update the system, the problem is still the same.
I appreciate any help.
Thank you
Search about Google FRP for this model on youtube.
I have already tried all the methods that there are on youtube, they do not work for me. I guess google has also seen the security flaws and they have protected it. The software like passfab unlocker android does not work either, I am desperate with this mobile and the only thing that occurs to me is to put a custom rom but I do not see development for it

Don't give up.
Try flashing the firmware again, but don't update it.
An older system is easier to unlock. Methods to remove FRP are evolving. Maybe you can find an unlocking variant on your own, since you already know the idea.

Thanks my friend. I think the same, plus I'm very stubborn. It is very difficult for me to give up but I am already getting old.

I bought a second-hand K8 (2016), which had a google account lock. The unlocking guide was not precise, but after looking at other similar guides I found common features that helped me remove the lock. You will also succeed. I suppose you are not stubborn, but patient.
I have managed to downgrade, right now it is with android 7 but still, I can't get any of the solutions on youtube to work for me. I can get out to the internet, I can get into some pages (vnrom.net) but when I click on a link it doesn't do anything. He is getting heavy this lg but I am harder than him hahahaha
I imagine that just like you can do from windows or linux with any packaged software you can use an unpacker and modify the rom to skip that step. But it's been 20 years since I used reverse engineering tools and what little I did was with very outdated tools today. For android there must be some current deodex and I'm willing to learn how to work the rom until I get away with it.

It doesn't work that way. During flashing, the key imprint from LG is checked.

Ok I understand. Thank you
Well, I finally managed to solve the problem. Although I didn't imagine that I could since none of the tutorials I've seen is updated, they all fail in something, so I spent many hours looking for shortcuts and ways to do it without following the tutorials and finally I managed to open chrome, the key is there, to get into the search engine and download an app, really difficult since everything is cut off by google so that the shortcuts and so on do not work. Although I have not recorded the process and I do not remember where I started, I am going to block it again and take note of how I do it so that someone else can use the system

It is not worth your time to write instructions for unlocking. What would we have to do, on the XDA forum, if a user could easily do everything themselves?
