[Oppo Finder x907] Looking for Root/CWM/ROM - Oppo Find 5

Hello,
just bought this fantastic phone in China. The question is to know if some non chinese ROM exists in order to use full google applications or is there any possibility to install google applications ?
I can have access to the Recovery but full chinese => Is there any chance to move to english ?
I think this smartphone is fantastic and need a English forum (most of the informations are in chinese) in order to fully use it.
BR

Any Chinese language schools near you?

Not really but perhaps I should spend more time to learn chinese
One of my interest would be that a MiUI ROM (English) could be delivered. It seems one already works in chinese...but not official.

I bought this phone too, you can download with your pc the Google Play APK, put on the phone the apk file, and install it with the explorer included into the original rom. With google play, you can dowload all the google application you need.

Ok, thanks for your answer. i'm going to try. I do not need any root or something else ?
It seems that also somebody was able to install MiUI...hopr it will be possible in the near future from MIUI website.

No, no need to be root =)
If you want to root your phone, I can post the method here.
I hope that a MiUI ROM will be available for this phone =)

I'm toying with the idea buying this phone or the Oppo Find 5 when it comes out. Being able to mod the OS for english is my primary concern before purchasing.
I was even thinking of buy the Goophone. It would be awesome just irritate Iphone fanboys. The price for the Goophone is pretty cheap but the specs are a little lacking and not quite sure if the frequencies are right for ATT either.

Hi all!
I have this phone about 3 weeks. I know how to do ROOT, and i have CWMRecovery.
And I have 4 most popular in China and stable nonofficial ROM with root.(EN supported)
If you need, i can post it to.

I think it's a fake what he said

Rooting Instructions + CWM (Chinese Only though)
Hey guys, I kinda unlocked it already and would like to share the procedure:
0. Download the following files:
driver_2012-01-31.rar - X907 Windows Drivers
anzhi-recovery-x907-cn-mod.7z - Root + CWM
Finder+Root.zip - Superuser/Busybox/etc
***Upload Finder+Root.zip first into your X907***
1. Power off the X907 by pressing the power button for more than 7 seconds (screen blanks off)
2. Go to fastboot mode by holding the upper volume button (+) and plug in any microUSB cable (plugged in to your PC of course). The X907 should stay in the "Find" boot screen. That should signal the fastboot mode and the phone then should be detected by the PC.
3. Use the driver_2012-01-31.rar file above to install drivers under Windows Device Manager
4. Once detected/identified properly, run rootx907.bat from the anzhi-recovery-x907-cn-mod.7z file.
5. Restart into Recovery Mode by first unplugging the microUSB cable then turning the device off (just press the power button for a few seconds until screen turns off) then press volume down (-) and power button together until the device vibrates, then let go of both buttons. Initially the screen should stay blank then it goes into CHINESE CWM
6. Now the confusing part - the CWM I found is only in Chinese so please bear with me. I've attached a photo of the CWM and the English counterpart of the choices. Select the SECOND option by navigating using the volume down (-) button then pressing the power button. Then press the power button again for the FIRST option to select a zip file from your SD card, then locate the Finder+Root.zip file and press the power button again.

8. That's it! Hope everything goes well for you as it did with me

Guys, I have not had yet the chance to try it myself, will do it as soon as I am back from work, but just a quick question, have you done a Hard Reset after installing this ROM?
I have just seen a post of PhamQUang in PDAVIET asking to do this, because in his opinion the today button and everything is working just fine if you do this. It wouldn't be the first time we see this issues either way (already seen them in version 12 if I am not mistaken)
Thanks!

thanks for the hard reset tip...worked for me...
i have to say this rom is quite well...can anyone answer why isnt there the new version of internet explorer in phamquangs roms?
PROS:titanium is fast, newer build, new honeycomb interface, the icons are more windows mobile 6.5 icons..
CONS: need to hard reset for things to work...titanium panels such as weather, comn manager can go haywire sometimes...device vibrates sometimes for no reason...internet explorer is old
Pals,
Even after clear storage or hard reset, still the same
the rom is gooooood
Excuse me , but...why the sim is missing???
working fine... so far
Hello, I finally got to my house and installed the new ROM. After doing the HARD RESET it is working fine, no issues with the Today button.
BUT, for what I have seen so far... it is slooooooooow. Version 13 was faster, without any doubt.
On the other hand, let's remember that the according to the specifications of WM6.5 this OS requires a processor faster than the one the OPAL has...
could anyone tell me i should download the new link which was edited today? or can i still use the original link that was given yesterday? bcoz todays link has the word _FIX at the last point. anyone please answer?

I had downloaded the fixed one. after I had flashed it to mobile, i quickly do hard reformat. points I mentioned before did not appear again, the room is fast.
Just tow notes, when turning the mobile in to stand by, it should not accept any key press to go on again unless i press on power button again, which is not this what happened, if u press on any key, then it come back to live again. 2nd note, when browse for contact to see its details, pressing red button should return in to
today screen, which is not happened unless i press on OK.
Good job man. but pls, can u mentioned what programs that had been removed to give the mobile large storage!!

i9088 is the China Unicom version of Galaxy S and one of the closest relatives to Captivate.
They share same appearance and major internal hardware.
some exceptions:
1.There is an 8GB version of i9088
2.Compass is 180 degrees reverted
3.There is FM hardware on i9088
Important: All i9088 ROMs do not have Google Account Built in, some work is necessary
Here is the Full i9088ZNKP2 ROM with KP1 modem(don't know why it's one day earlier than the ROM)
Default language is simplified Chinese, changing locale in settings after flashing.

holy crap, is that the stock theme on this thing or did you use a modified version? because, seriously, WAY too much gloss and color for my liking.
edit: looking at the first screencap compared to the others, suddenly realized that all but the first are a custom theme.
Do we need to flash it with Re-Partition using the pit file?

But this is the only Cap-like device 2.2.1 kernel available now isn't it?
Firebird 2 is based on 2.2 kernel and Firebird 1 has no haptic feedback on Home as it's i9k reoriented.
It would be great if you could tune this a little bit, like adding the google contents

all that "[email protected]" means is that it was built by the root user on the machine named "SEP-53"... not that it is rooted. in fact, several other stock kernels have had that "[email protected]"... I think the one we tend to see for Captivate is "[email protected]", can't really remember as it's been a while since I've been on a stock kernel of some sort.
Weird.. It has my APN Settings pre-configured, and i'm from SouthAmerica..
Goodbye AT&T Boot logo (yes, the first one).. Hello China Unicom logo! :S
And now i can't access to Recovery mode with Vol up + Vol down + Power Button..
Now it's Vol up + Power button (that combination never worked before...) to get the Recovery Mode..
It's working very well! Very fast! Just like the others 2.2.1 i9000's ROMs..
Too bad this ROM is Chinese.. Capped from Google Apps.. Downloaded the gapps update.zip and i can't install the Market (it won't appear or i'm blind ), and i doubt about the correct functioning of the rest of the GApps (all the other GApps appears in the appdrawer)..
Everything goes back to normal when i flashed it to Stock with Odin One-Click..

It contains new boot loaders, that's why your recovery keys were changed, you were lucky. Very nice discovery though. But caution when flashing has a significant chance of bricking due to the bootloader flashes. (sbl.bin + boot.bin)
Also contains a new version of odin3 v1.81. Thanks to op.
Can you deodex the rom at some point?
Offtopic: in the screenshots is that wallpaper toilet paper clouds? It's the carrier logo, quite funny.
Extracted the kernel from the package, clockworkmod flashable for those interested. It requires a 2.2.1 based rom JPU/JPX/JPY. Also note you will your partitions will need to be rfs, so disable all lag fixes. (exception is ext2)
View attachment i9088_kernel_cwm.zip
Headset is compatible, including button functionality.
Compass correct orientation
Orientation sensor is correct
339 mb ram available to user (Disappointing they didn't free up memory due to missing FFC)
Video working
Backwards compatible with i9000 JPU/JPX/JPY roms.
Benchmarking:
Linpack 13.8+ - 14.2 - Looks like it improved
Quadrant: ~1050
Initramfs for development: View attachment initramfs.tar.zip rename extension from .zip to .gz
Indeed the rom includes both bootloaders, primary and secondary so use extreme caution with this thing. JPU as far as I know came in a LOW package (contains bootloaders) and it bricked a lot of devices, including Setiron's

True. Sadly, so does the one-click every n00b an his brother are using whenever they change ROMs.
So, why not remove from the file sbl + boot.bins?

[Q] Which Android Version is the best and fastest for HTC Touch HD?

Hello,
i can see here Threads with Android 2.1, 2.2, and so on - it gives *.zip Versions,
it gives *.cab Versions, ... it gives SD Versions, it gives Flash Versions, .. on this
Android Version doesn´t work Bluetooth, on the other Android Version doesn´t
work the Camera ans so on ... - i am totaly confused.
Can anyone tell me please what is the best and fastest Android Version for my
HTC Touch HD?I have flashed on my Device Windows Mobile 6.5, but now i want
Android on it.
What i need/must work on my Device:
-HSDPA
-WLAN/WiFi
-AppStore
-GPS
-Android in german language
Can anyone give me a link where i can find an Android Version for my Device - please?
Thank you and sorry for my bad english .
FRX07.1 should work for all the things you have listed.
GPS is still kinda flaky tho, just FYI.
Thank you for your answer . Is there anywhere a german install instructions,
because my english is badder than bad. I am scared that i am doing something
wrong and my Device is "dead".
Can please anyone translate the Instructions in german language?

I do not speak German, so I'd just run the instructions thru a translator - which is obviously not so great.
However, if you can manage to get Android installed, look for an app "MoreLocale2" on the Market. It will allow you to add languages to the system.
I don´s know what Point 4 means:
4. Screen calibration - you have three choices:
Re-use an old ts-calibration file if you have it and you know it's good.
Download the ts-calibration.zip file and extract it to where you put the rest of the files (root of SD or in a folder - make sure it all stays together!)
Manually calibrate - boot with no ts-calibration file and watch the boot process - you'll be asked to hit 5 points to calibrate the screen. If you have issues calibrating, try an older kernel (1225 works well) Once you have the calibration file hold on to it (make 15 copies if it's a good one ), reboot & go back to the newest kernel!

My Touchscreen is calibrated.

And my problem 2: I can´t find Point 5.
My last problem - 3: In point 6 i read "Run haret.exe". Does this mean i must
start Windows Mobile 6.5 on my "Blackstone", then i must switch to the "Datei

that right?

Last questions: Can be the SIM-Card in the Device or must it be out of it?
Can i go back to WM 6.5? If yes - how to do it?
EDIT:
It´s done and it works, and the best - it is automaticly in german Language.
So - and now i must test it.
Thank sooooooo much - Thanks, Thanks, Thanks.
EDIT 2:
How can i connect my Device with my PC (Windows XP Pro)? ActiveSync doesn´t
work, because now Android works on my Device .
EDIT 3:
It´s done and all works fine - no questions anymore.

So, you're good? All the other questions answered? Reboot to get back to WinMo. Read the FAQ for USB - it doesn't exactly work like it should because Android is running off of the SD card.

You're welcome, enjoy .
I saw a nand release which was massively buggy but it worked for some bits. It was pretty swift.
So I think it can run... It needs a heck of a lot of work, but lack of devices seems to be thr big hurdle, and that other phones are coming cheap now...
The sd builds work pretty darn well if you ask me, I used one for awhile as my main OS and it did well considering!

Oppo Find 5 Root with CASUAL

Introduction
Here's a one-click root method for the Oppo Find 5. You can find source here: https://code.google.com/p/android-casual/source/browse/#svn/trunk/GUI/src/SCRIPTS
The way this works is it will reboot your device into fastboot, boot a kernel, inject root and SuperSU(available on Android Market), set permissions, test itself and let you know if it passed or failed.
CASUAL also provides an unroot option to remove root permissions. This can also be done from within SuperSu.
Instructions
Open CASUAL with JAVA. Do you have Java?
Select which script you want (root or recovery_
Click the do-it button
All scripts in CASUAL are automated. Simply click the button and it will "do it". If you are a windows user, please ensure you are using proper drivers.

About CASUAL
CASUAL stands for Cross-platform ADB Scripting, Univeral Android Loader. CASUAL jar files are a wrapper for the CASUAL scripting language. CASUAL allows rapid and accurate deployment of hacks and exploits. CASUAL allows for automatic updating of its scripts via pushes to the SVN server at android-casual.googlecode.com. While I expect no problems at all, if at any time a serious problem is detected with the script, i can flip a kill switch to shut CASUAL downand you will be brought to a support page.... most likely here. This is intended to add a level of security so that you know this will be safe.
Thank you very much. I will check it in few days
Edit: And, for sure, if it works, you will have a beer
Thanks a lot Adam. Will try this today.
Thank you for the script. I will try it in soon days, when I will receive my Oppo Find 5 32GB. The device is still in Guangzhou Good that I am in China
Nice,now to get it....
Could you please confirm it will work in any Oppo Find 5? Or only in Oppo Find 5 with international firmware?

It should work with all, unless there is some sort of locked down version.
I've read you have Chinese version. Is that right? If so, what about Gapps? Does them run with no problem?

Yes.
thanks for your hard work
but i have a problem:
I startet ubuntu from a CD and installed the libusb.
But there is no way the "Hack Pack" could recognize the x909.
USB-Debugging is on.
I also tried it in windows. I installed the adb driver for my x909 but the "Hack Pack" cannot recognize it either.
Do know where there could be a failure?
Thanks
Wow,
Bought the phone last Friday @ ebay.com , [ getting it in about a week or so..]
and now there is root ! :silly:
Thanks for this Adam, I really appreciate it
Any plans for it's own forum?
BTW. How much did you spend on this thing, and from where? I'd like to get one as well... (If they release the sources, that is.)

Anyway, there will be an international version comercialized by Oppo in some weeks (prize unknown right now)

There may be an update which you need. I applied a manual update last week which made ADB work properly with all previous versions of ADB. You also need drivers. I don't know which ones yet.
think I'm going to wait for the Int'l launch before getting it... probably no warranty for those chinese versions bought on ebay(and ebay/chinese resellers - >$600... oppousa.com website says $500)
might want to put th emodel number (x909), helps for searching
@those who have the device, how is it? most youtube videos/reviews have the beta version of the phone, or are just walking advertisements, wondering how good the final retail version is
EDIT: some (full fledged) reviews that I can find

Thanks for your response.
Do you mean an update for the phone? Where did you get it?
Or an update for the computer? The installation of ubuntu is completly fresh. I just added the libusb and java to run the "Hack Pack".
Did ubuntu immediately recognize your Oppo Find 5 with only libusb installed additionally? Or what software do i need furthermore?
I would like to use the Gapps but if i install the play store from an apk, it just force closes all the time. (like every other gapp)
Greetings
International firmware released:
http://www.oppoforums.com/threads/find-5-beta-firmware-x909en_13_130206.563/#post-10744
I suppose, CASUAL also works with it, right?
EDIT :actually, info better posted on a separate thread (as this thread is for rooting the phone)
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=37684053&postcount=32
Solution?

If the gtab is the equivalent of malata_smba9701 then sure. But its not.
I am still puzzled to the relevance of this ROM being in the Gtablet forum -- it just seems to confuse people.
Open to explanation if I am missing something...

Thanks geowolf1000 & all the others, this ROM is working very well! For the record & for any Googlers, I'm using a Malata Zpad T8 (Wifi only/512 MB RAM) with serial number starting with MCB, very rare at the time (I bought mine when I was in China, when I met the people who were operating ez-pad.net )
I have just one small problem: how do I get the 'Menu' button to work? The other buttons (Back, Home, Volume+/-, Power of course) work fine, except for "Menu". When I push it, I hear a 'click' from Android, but nothing happens.
geowolf1000, what do you mean by "SETTINGS/ SYSTEM /HARDWARE KEYS/ MENU ICONS ON FOR MENU OPTIONS"? I have no submenu or checkbox for "menu icons' in the "Hardware keys" menu.
Anyways, nice work! Keep it up
trigger on "show action overflIow"
Why is this in viewsonic g tablet forum???
Why the hell is this in clearly the viewsonic G Tablet Forum if it cannot be used for G Tablet?
Can the mods please move this to an appropriated forum, people are going to soft brick their G Tabs if this continues.
links from now on will be given personal by pm
@NiNJA_ONE
No need to mouth off like that, keep it down please. Before bugging the mods, have you looked at XDA's forum index? There isn't an "appropriated forum" for this, as the Malata Zpad tablets are just a very small slice of the big tablet pie.
Because some Zpads are very similar (but not identical!) in hardware to the G Tablet, and some devs around here are working on ROMs for the G Tablet as well as for the Zpads, we Zpad users have been given shelter on this forum, until the mods decide (which may be never) to open up a seperate (sub)forum for us.
Capish?
