As anyone updated their Note 2 yet to 4.1.2? I got mine from 3 direct, as far as I could tell it was unbranded, so as I am impatient I decided to download the H3 4.1.2 FW from samfirmware.com this morning and I have flashed it. Now when the phone boots I have the nasty 3 logo on there I can only imagine that I was running BTU version before, stupidly I didn't check.
Can anyone confirm the version they are running on 4.1.1 for me please, or if anyone has received the OTA update for 3 now have the 3 logo on boot?

I got the ota update on 3 to 4.1.2 about 3 days ago. I was slightly worried as it stayed on the 3 logo for about 5 mins then it booted

Oh can you confirm what your baseband and build number is please, also do you have the 3 logo on boot?
So after flashing back to the 4.1.1 BTU update and can do OTA updates again, problem is I had to wipe all data as I got stuck at the Samsung logo
I will just have to wait for the OTA update like everyone else :silly:

Is he running the unbranded version do you know or 3 branded?
Is your phone sim locked to 3? If not, i would assume your phone was an early batch of unlocked phones during launch, when 3 didn't brand their Note 2's yet.
If you went and got one now, they should be plagued with their own ROM with csc H3G.
If your phone is unlocked, you should have been running BTU with no bloat and no 3 boot splash.

I know for sure that the first handsets 3 were sending out were unlocked with Samsung branding, how long this carried on I cannot be sure but I originally got one.
Just wait till the UK btu version comes out and flash that over the top minus the modem and you will have the best of both, 3 network tweaked radio without the crappy logo on boot.

Notification just showed an OTA update was available (36MB), I downloaded and ran the update. Presto! Multi-Window is now officially functional for the GT-N7105 (LTE Version). Hope you guys get your update soon!

The update just got released today so i don't think the file will be available so soon. I haven't rooted cos my stock rom is not available yet, otherwise i would have shared it.

I also had multi window on ALIJ, but had no edit button until i updated to ALJ3
I had multi window sice I got it on Monday last week. There was an OTA update when I first turned it on. Mine came from T-mobile UK.

just flashed with mobile odin pro, perfectly ok and with root from everroot
but seems my counter still is 1 and status as custom when check with triangle away

I have N7105ZHALJ4 where is my multiscreen?
Does the Build Number say anything about where the phone came from?
I bought mine from Mobicity.co.nz who ship from Hong Kong so assume the phone was also built/set for there.
Does this mean I have to wait for Samsung to bring the update for the N7105 to HK or as I am now using it in New Zealand, on a NZ Vodafone network do I need to wait for some sort of NZ update

You have the Hong Kong version. The build shown is what i had before the update. Just run the update in the phone settings menu and the ota update should show. If it doesn't just connect your phone to kies on your computer and the update can be done there. You don't need to wait for Nz update as your phones firmware is not for that region.

I'm on T-Mob UK with firmware ALIG but I haven't seen any updates?
I've been flashing non T-Mob UK roms and just changing/replacing the csc files
Takes a bit longer with the factory reset after selecting the EVR csc, but I like to play and I'm a bit of a flashoholic anyway lol

Not yet, try the uk rom, its already good, no need for full wipe, you can flash phil version when its release in our country . Binary counter wont increase

Have you encountered the "Processing failed" message when you register your device to be able to recieve OTA updates after flashing the rom? I did. I don't really rely on OTA upgrades since i flash roms, but it does bug me a bit knowing that i dont have that option.

Afaik it happens because of csc doesnt match between rom (uk or german or whatever) and our phone's (globe or smart or sun or openline).
I am currently using german rom flashed over philippine rom (globe), and just ignores the warning.. do far no prob for me stabilitywise
Hopefully when official philippine jb rom comes, the csc will match so ota upates can now be enabled..

Yes just flash the UK rom as it is newer then German and most probably the one which is going to come to Asia, I also got sick and tired of waiting for the indian release and installed the uk samsung really are treating as a second world country two months still no release

I think that was a problem with the german rom which was release earlier than the uk, haven't tried it yet

Its is because you have flash rom which is not for your region and hence you get this error, you can either live with it or change the CSC code to the rom you installed the only issue then would be you will get updates for that particular region in future
i am using jb rom of germany no issues so far well except for ota updates. i can always use odin anyway.
I just bought my Note and as I was using the S Note for reading my chemistry ebooks and doodling on them, everytime I exit the app, it took so long before the ebook is saved. Sometimes, my Note won't even respond. Is there something wrong with it? Should I have it replaced?

2) Can I use a alternative country rom to flash my Belgian Note8, France perhaps?
When referring to "WiFi" it means wifi only, so I cannot use it to flash my Note with 3G I guess...

1 You can update with odin. No problem. Then use Cf-autoroot to root again.
2 This ROM is for Germany zone. But no problem using it in Romania.

So I was on official MJ5 android 4.3 and today I got an update to MJ8. All it said was stability fixes, does anybody know anything about this?

Didn't use the phone much after it, but i didn't notice any difference....Oh well
Keep in mind its just 16mb update mostly security/patches but i think and feel it's much faster smoother then before.
I think we'll get another update in the following weeks with bigger changes.

Oh ok..ya, it is increasing like every 2 days, but just flash the one closest to your country...it doesn't really matter much other than CSC mostly..

I don't think this voids your warranty, because you are still on stock firmware....you don't need root or a custom recovery!
Just got an OTA from MJ5 to 8. Phone generally feels the same. Nothing new observed by me other than "maybe" a little better RAM management.

Well I let it a try and want to share my experience.
The update took 13 minutes from applying the update untill the full bootup. And drained 3% of a battery from 80% to 77%. All apps and icons on the home screen remained untouched.

As read in another thread now you have the Knox warranty flag/counter.
You can see that when you bring your phone in download/odin mode.
And as I understood now you can't flash back older firmware, or root and flash custom roms without loosing your warranty (warranty void).

I didn't think s4 mini was getting 4.3 this year. (I got an s4m for my wife)
My S4 is locked up with Knox now, I had to make the decision, stock/stable/official or root - stock isn't so bad.

No, no Odin. This is the official one, OTA or Kies.

It`s offically annonced that S4 mini will get 4.3 till the end of November and this is sure as Samsung anonce that Gear will support S4 Mini which mean 4.3 for us in the end of November.
As for the Rom I love the stock one and don`t need root as there is wifi tethering so I don`t need to play hacker just to have network on my laptop when traveling.

Do you have a source by chance? I know about the 4.3 and Galaxy Gear compatibility but don't remember reading anything about timing.

I think this will cover it.
A spokesperson for Samsung UK told CNET that Android 4.3 Jelly Bean "will be available across a range of Galaxy devices from mid-November, subject to software testing and approvals by individual networks."
Installing now and see how it goes. The only thing I pray for is the basterds fixed the battery drain bug. I doubt it, but we will see...
Someone mentioned no rooting possible from this version on? Should there be a workaround this, because I am pessimistic they fixed the issue?
For now, everything is in place and the update was non-problematic. We will see how the battery usage goes...

Bulgaria, but my phone is from France. I updated it via Kies.
