It woks with the s2 s3 etc, but you need to know the size of the devices system.img and edit the script accordingly.

Droid X 2.2 Overclock is here

nadlabak: for patching in Froyo/2.2 Support
FreeWELL: for finding DroidX 2.2 memory locations/module compilation
Notes:
I'm trying to keep this as close as possible to the way it was done on 2.1. For me, 2.2 seems to need a little more voltage to be stable than it was under 2.1. I've included two versions of setscaling.sh to start from.
setscaling.sh is set to stock voltages/clock speed
setscaling100.sh is set to stock voltages w/100mhz bump accross the board to 400/700/900/1100 (This appears to be stable for me, and is the baseline for my testing/tuning)
Install Instructions
adb/terminal:
$ su
# cd /sdcard/extracted/droidx_22_oc (or wherever you extracted the files to)
# mount -o rw,remount -t ext3 /dev/block/mcblk1p21 /system
# cp overclock.ko /system/lib/modules/overclock.ko
# cp setscaling.sh /system/xbin/setscaling.sh
# chmod 644 /system/lib/modules/overclock.ko
# chmod 755 /system/xbin/setscaling.sh
<optional(only do after thoroughly testing what works for your DroidX in setscaling.sh)>
# cp install-recovery.sh /system/etc/install-recovery.sh
# chmod 755 /system/etc/install-recovery.sh

Awesome! I'm going to give this a go right now.
Is overlooking the DX worth it? I heard a while back it wasn't. Hopefully I heard wrong.

Yeah, I don't care about overclocking - I care about undervolting. For some reason my phone seems more responsive after undervolting on this kernel, too. Could be psychological, but I really feel like it's snappier.
This is so freaking awesome.

Its always worth it. The benchmarks dont lie. 16.7 Linpack and 1600 quadrant. That is @ 1.19 Ghz and 64 vsel.
BTW, you can notice quite a difference during CPU intensive actions, such as restoring/backing up apps via Titanium Backup. It flew through that.

can you post your setscaling.sh file for the 1.19?? I havent figured out how to edit those files to mean anything yet
My setscaling for 1.19Ghz - http://db.tt/bGtpboI
Mine for 1.15Ghz / 60 vsel - http://db.tt/Zpl0Y97
For some reason I can't get above like 1.15GHz. 1.15 works fine but 1.2, 1.3, and 1.4 all go to turtle mode. Ugh.
Tried your setscaling, fission rom 1.0, so far so good, getting 1700s in quadrant.

Extract the files, use root explorer to move overclock.ko to system/lib/modules, move setscaling100.sh to System/xbin. Then use terminal emulator to run su, enter, insmod /system/lib/modules/overclock.ko . Then , setscaling100.sh .you should be good to go.

Hide root from certain app

To make it very short: I have an app that will not run on a rootet device. I want to hide the Super User binary for that app - and only that app.
Is there an app that will hide the SU binary for a selection of apps without having to make a temporary unroot in Super User?

Every time when app want root you must aprove it (you can select deny, and check do this every time for this app)
This is par of SuperUser apps.

What you need is OTA RootKeeper. I use this app also, since tv2go application from my tv provider does not work with rooted phones.

This app will scan for root access and not open a media player if root access is found. I want to hide root from the app without having to make a temporary unroot.
The app is for a danish TV streaming service. The developer claims that they cannot secure the rights on rootet devices.

Did you even read my reply? I have had same problems with Slovenian TV provider, OTA RootKeeper helped me. It disable you root for the time you must have it off. So app will recognize your phone as non rooted phone.
How about to use Tasker or something to run shell
su -c busybox mount -o rw,remount /system
su -c mv /system/xbin/su /system/xbin/sx
sx -c mv /system/app/Superuser.apk /system/app/Superuserr.apk
sx -c busybox mount -o ro,remount /system
when you open app?

I did read your reply.
My question however, is about a method to hide root access from this certain app, so to avoid having to make a temporary unroot.
If such a thing exist.
With OTA RootKeeper it works but it is on a basis of temporary unroot.
Thanks for your post anyway.

[Library]Build.prop Tools

Build.prop Tools is a library that makes it easier for app developers to edit the build.prop file from their applications. I decided to make this library when I needed to edit build.prop from within an app I'm developing and I couldn't find a library to make this simple. So, after I had worked out how to do it and tested the code in my app, I made it into a library, because I think this will help quite a few developers.
Project on GitHub: https://github.com/Tezlastorme/build-prop-tools/
The download link is there on the project page, along with the source.
The methods are all documented, and there are a couple of wiki pages, an FAQ (it's not a very long FAQ :silly: ) and a tutorial.
Bug reporting
Do not report a crash unless you have read the FAQ, and when you do, post a logcat, preferably errors only.
I CAN NOT HELP YOU WITHOUT A LOGCAT.
I hope this helps people

Working on the next update which will have some more useful methods
I haven't tested this new version, but I would appreciate it if people would test this and tell me whether these new methods work
https://docs.google.com/file/d/0B90a_sKAHkjVZ0FBMUdOMlVPems/edit?usp=sharing
Changelog:
added getPropArray() and getPropAsHash() methods
Really useful and simple library for tweaking phones. Will use it later on and report
I just wrote this in my program and it crashed..
Code:
String device = BuildProp.getProp("ro.product.model");
Not even started coding till now.. Logcat shows error in line 15 which contained the above code.. I am using 1.1 beta

Currently, no. Before the release, in the prototypes you could, but it was really buggy and would do things like deleting build.prop or making it empty or unable to open. I have no idea why. I made it so it copies the file to sdcard then reads it and that works fine. Maybe I could see about doing that without root. I might experiment more some time but I've been busy with school and other things lately.

TUTORIAL
You need edit framework2.jar and download modded MyFiles.apk
then extract classes.dex from framework2.jar using 7zip or something
and then -decompile your classes.dex using baksmali.jar [java -jar baksmali.jar classes.dex]
you'll get "out" folder after this .
download framework2.jar-samsungmodbydogaoz
copy everything inside of "out" folder to your "out" folder [IMPORTANT : probably you'll see (do you want change this file ..blabla..? ) no to all don't change same files..because we are only getting samsung frameworks]
and then compile classes.dex again [java -jar smali.jar out]
and then rename out.dex to classes.dex and copy classes.dex to your framework2.jar using 7zip or something
push your framework2.jar to your system/framework [adb remount -- adb push framework2.jar /system/framework ] DON'T FORGET BACKUP.PLEASE DO BACKUP BEFORE DOING THIS
Finally, Download SecNoteMyFiles-moddedbydogaoz.apk and push to your system/app using adb [adb remount -- adb push SecNoteMyFiles-moddedbydogaoz.apk /system/app]

Guys, my CM build is discontinued, for some reasons you may not install it on your phone. Anyway, If you have issues with it, reflash TWRP and retry again, or you may remove all the lines before get_prop on the META-INF.

On META-INF/ updater-script you need to remove all lines before getprop and it should be okay

hey i tried it and it wont let me install it and i cant turn the wifi on now and the error it gave me was: unmounting /system failed: no shuch a volume
what should i do with the error and the wifi?
and forgot to say i also have the error at the first line of my twrp that says E:unknown file system and i think there's something wrong with my system
EDIT: WiFi fixed after I downgraded to KitKat, but still have that error: unmpunt /system : no such file or directory and no such volume
Has anyone found a fix for the error:
Unmount /system failed: no such a file or directory
Unmount /system failed: no such a volume
