Milestone Overclock Module 1.2t (nadlabak's patch) w/ Memory Locations for DroidX 2.2 Added by FreeWELL
Credits:
Tiago Sousa aka Mirage: for The Milestone Overclock Project
nadlabak: for patching in Froyo/2.2 Support
FreeWELL: for finding DroidX 2.2 memory locations/module compilation
Notes:
I'm trying to keep this as close as possible to the way it was done on 2.1. For me, 2.2 seems to need a little more voltage to be stable than it was under 2.1. I've included two versions of setscaling.sh to start from.
setscaling.sh is set to stock voltages/clock speed
setscaling100.sh is set to stock voltages w/100mhz bump accross the board to 400/700/900/1100 (This appears to be stable for me, and is the baseline for my testing/tuning)
Install Instructions
adb/terminal:
$ su
# cd /sdcard/extracted/droidx_22_oc (or wherever you extracted the files to)
# mount -o rw,remount -t ext3 /dev/block/mcblk1p21 /system
# cp overclock.ko /system/lib/modules/overclock.ko
# cp setscaling.sh /system/xbin/setscaling.sh
# chmod 644 /system/lib/modules/overclock.ko
# chmod 755 /system/xbin/setscaling.sh
<optional(only do after thoroughly testing what works for your DroidX in setscaling.sh)>
# cp install-recovery.sh /system/etc/install-recovery.sh
# chmod 755 /system/etc/install-recovery.sh
</optional>
# mount -o ro,remount -t ext3 /dev/block/mcblk1p21 /system
Run Instructions
adb/terminal:
$ su
# insmod /system/lib/modules/overclock.ko
# setscaling.sh

Awesome! I'm going to give this a go right now.

Is overlooking the DX worth it? I heard a while back it wasn't. Hopefully I heard wrong.

I actually underclocked my DX. I can't keep up with the speed. running fission 1.0

Yeah, I don't care about overclocking - I care about undervolting. For some reason my phone seems more responsive after undervolting on this kernel, too. Could be psychological, but I really feel like it's snappier.

This is so freaking awesome.

Its always worth it. The benchmarks dont lie. 16.7 Linpack and 1600 quadrant. That is @ 1.19 Ghz and 64 vsel.
BTW, you can notice quite a difference during CPU intensive actions, such as restoring/backing up apps via Titanium Backup. It flew through that.

can you post your setscaling.sh file for the 1.19?? I havent figured out how to edit those files to mean anything yet

My setscaling for 1.19Ghz - http://db.tt/bGtpboI

Mine for 1.15Ghz / 60 vsel - http://db.tt/Zpl0Y97

For some reason I can't get above like 1.15GHz. 1.15 works fine but 1.2, 1.3, and 1.4 all go to turtle mode. Ugh.

Tried your setscaling, fission rom 1.0, so far so good, getting 1700s in quadrant.

File not found?

So, how much of a hit is it on the battery when overclocking?

Extract the files, use root explorer to move overclock.ko to system/lib/modules, move setscaling100.sh to System/xbin. Then use terminal emulator to run su, enter, insmod /system/lib/modules/overclock.ko . Then , setscaling100.sh .you should be good to go.

can some of you running 1.2 and higher post the .SH physical files?

Hmm, you can try loading it at DHD's add via kallsyms.
Kernel source is not necessarily necessary, give me a /proc/kallsyms and I will see what I can do.

Thanks for the addresses guys. Apache14 also sent me the kernel localversion. Building it now, stay tuned.
EDIT: Seems as though there's more than one version of the Desire HD kernel out there. When insmodding you'll have to insert your own addresses if this is so (or your phone will most likely crash, or even more likely, you'll get an exec format error no matter how you load it).
teihoata: can you pull a /proc/version from that kernel?

Now to se how far I can go
[EDIT]
cant seem to go past 1.45Ghz ..... dont fancy over volting the CPU any more either but still ~450Mhz bump is crazy good 45% boost !!
Thank you so much coolbho3000 I have set up the overclock on my phone and it is very nice.
Ok found a lil "bug" dunno what causes it but if you load the OC module by a command to OC to say 1440MHz i.e
insmod /data/local/vision_oc-gbe90714.ko pll2_l_val=75
Click to collapse
the phone will probably crash ...... but i have found if i load the module without the extra paramiter first and then unload it with "rmmod vision_oc.ko" it will run fine e.g
insmod /data/local/vision_oc-gbe90714.ko
then
rmmod vision_oc.ko
then
insmod /data/local/vision_oc-gbe90714.ko pll2_l_val=76

This way it didnt crash for me :-S
also so u can see the speed boost in some benchmarks

Flash fix including choppy netflix

So I found this somewhere weeks ago but can't find it again or else I would link to it.
Anyways, I posted this in the CM7 thread and someone asked for it to be its own thread, sooo here it is!
You can use any root explorer to navigate to the given directory, just make sure any options for hidden folders are enabled, or use a terminal emulator like already in CM7.
In terminal emulator first type "su" without quotes to gain super user access. From there type cd /data/data/com.android.browser/app_plugins/com.adobe.flashplayer/.macromedia/Flash_Player
The periods and capitols are essential, so don't mess those up.
If you get an error saying of can't cd to the whole directory path go a couple at a time and if you get lost type "ls" again without quotes and it will list the files and folders in the current folder. If nothing shows up do "ls -a" and it will list hidden folders as well (ie the .macromedia folder for instance).
Once in the final folder type "chmod 000 config.data" and verify it worked by typing "ls -l" where you should see all "-" for the config file.
Hope that helps and is clear enough.
I attached a screenshot of terminal emulator for a visual. Although I did break up the "cd" into two parts so you can see the entire directory path.

i tried to get to the directory a few different ways but I guess something is missing? Help?
I will point out that the directory doesn't show up until you try to run a flash video in the stock browser (or whatever browser you are using). If you use dolphin it is a different directory. Replace the "com.android.browser" with "mobi.mgeek.TunnyBrowser".
Sent from my ADR6400L using Tapatalk
Ok, so I have tried watching vids in dolphin browser and stock and I still get no folder in data, and is the data on the root of my phone or on the SD card

It is in the phones internal storage, not the sdcard. It is data/data/mobi.mgeek.TunnyBrowser/app_plugins/com.adobe.flashplayer/.macromedia/Flash_Player/ The file is "config.data". You would have to try to play a flash video in the stock browser for it to show up in the directory that is in the op.

I managed to browse to /data/data/com.android.browser/app_plugins/com.adobe.flashplayer after that there is nothing, see below.I did play some flash to generate the folder but nothing . Anybody?

There's something in this particular config file that causes issues playing any flash video of 420p or higher.
Various other people had no problems when the 10.2 update came out but I did. 10.3 has the same config file, but that's when more people started having the sound but no video issue and this "fix" came about.
I wish I had a more definite answer but I just don't know.
On another note, if you fix permissions in rom manager or CWM this fix goes away and you'll need to go back in and redo the chmod.

It woks with the s2 s3 etc, but you need to know the size of the devices system.img and edit the script accordingly.
Hi, Could anyone do I8190L root android 4.1.2? The operating system I have on my computer is the windows ... they are grateful. (sorry for my bad English)
