[Q] Nexus 7 Developer options disappeared after system upgrade - Nexus 7 Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Hi All,
Just received my Nexus 7 32GB Wi-Fi and switched it on went to settings and Developer mode and switched on USB debugging. I then plugged into USB on PC and a notice of system upgrade available, So, I selected OK and after the upgrading went back into settings and found that "Developer Options" had disappeared. Any ideas anyone.

Rapidly tap build number 8 times, and watch as magic happens

The changelog was merged yesterday into the AOSP, nothing related to location was modified IIRC.
Re enable location access. For whatever reason the update turned it off. Hope that helps.

All works fine for me, but I used the 'force OTA update' method described in this forum. When I went to Google Now, location access was turned off (as someone else mentioned) and I simply enabled it again. Did not notice any issues with weather / location issues.
Weather is related to location so I can understand why weather is not working if location is not working - just that I did not have any issues with location.
Try going to Settings > Location Access and unselecting everything. then reboot phone, go back into Settings > Location Access and enable everything again. also, if you are rooted, try installing Fasterfix and using it to set your phone for the region you are in.
Many thanks. The problem was that In google aplications was turned off bit not In settings location IT was on.

[Q] Nexus 4 not showing up in ddms for screenshots?

Hi, previously I owned an HTC Sensation and used the ddms screenshot feature alot, however i've just tried to use it with my N4 (all stock) and its not showing up as a device, does anyone know why this could be?
ddms has been depreciated. Try "monitor" instead. Its got a lot more options.

It's not there on the 2012 N7 either. Oddly, it's there on the Nexus 10, though.

Also I just noticed the version of Google keyboard on Nexus 5 and 2013 Nexus 7 is different.... Also there is no option for Nexus 7 "Vibrate on Keypress" meanwhile Nexus 5 does have. I can't even uninstall it.

That's because neither Nexus 7 model has a vibrator.

aw....i just hate the sound it makes....lol. Any suggestions? Hoping we can get a work around for Tap & Pay feature... I was really looking forward to it..since the 4.4 update. I don't understand why Google can't make it open to any handset that has NFC capabilities? right? sigh... hehehe
Turn on NFC first, then the menu will show up.

Even after enabling NFC and wallet installed, Wallet doesn't show up in the tap & pay list. I even uninstalled and reinstalled Wallet.

It's working completely fine for me... All I can think of to recommend is a factory reset..

2013, running sideloaded OTA'd stock 4.4.
I'm stock rooted. I guess I'll try a factory reset, go from there.

Is the issue that the Tap & Pay menu doesn't appear in Settings or does the functionality not work? I have never used it but I just turned on NFC to check and once I do, tap&pay appears in settings. Wi-fi N7 here.

Tap & pay will only show up after NFC is enabled (Kit Kat only, NOT Jelly Bean for you n00bs out there).
However, even after I reverted to stock unrooted jelly bean, oem locked, sideloaded the update, & reinstalled Wallet....Wallet STILL does not show up in the Tap & Pay app list. So I don't know what else to do.

If i remember well, nexus 7 doesn't have the hardware to allow tap and pay... It's like we needed a secured NFC chip

The secure NFC chip isn't needed for tap and pay starting with KitKat. That's why they added it at the OS level.
Tap and Pay is indeed present on the 2013 Nexus 7. I just enabled NFC to confirm that the menu shows up in Settings and it does.
Tap and Pay is present that's correct but Wallet isn't there yet. More talk about it here

Wife Tether issue

Hey guys I was wondering if anyone else had issues with a Windows 7 laptop detecting the note 3 standard wifi hotspot. I have tried secure and open settings on the app, as well as updating drivers on the laptop, but it still doesn't even see it when the hotspot is enabled. Oh, I'm stock rooted and not SS on mj7.
Rocking tha big boy note 3
Go to Settings > More Settings > Mobile Hot spot, press Configure, scroll down and check "Advanced Settings," scroll down and make sure the band selection is 2.4 Ghz and not 5 Ghz. Some Wi-Fi cards don't see the 5 Ghz.

I tether my wife all the time. I've tried unpairing her but she remains tethered. It makes it very inconvenient when I go out drinking.
I've looked at options for a hard reset but damn.....that's expensive.

USB debugging. .

Hi this is my first post. I just got a gs5 900p
I am trying to enable usb debugging but I can't find it in the settings anywhere
Is it even an option with the 900p ?
