[Q] Nexus 7 3G - Nexus 7 Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Hi everyone.
I just bought a US Nexus 7 3G set but not using it with any US operator sim card and also not in the US. Sadly, there doesn't seem to have any 3G network. Can anyone tell me how do I solve this problem? Thanks.

Touch 2 on T-Mobile

Does anyone know if the Touch 2/Mega can be used with T-Mobile's 3G? Anyone have any first hand experience in the US with this?
Thanks.

Why should be an issue using a phone on a particular carrier?
I bought here in Italy and used with my TIM sim card seamlessy, including 3G.
CNET review mentioned that the 3G protocol in Mega is for europe and not compatible for the US.

[Q] US xoom in EU

I'm about to buy a xoom in the US without any contract. I would go for the 3G one (Verizon but without contract). Do you guys think I will be able to use it after unlocking? Do I need to unlock anyway, since it's without contract? Like the ones in Best Buy?
Tks for your inputs.
Cheers
Andrew
i think there should be no problem. I have us wifi xoom.... but one year ago i bought us nexus-one and there was no problem in using the 3g in europe (same freq).
or..maybe you are asking about 'provider sim-lock ' then i dont have an answer... but i believe its doable
Hi,
You can not use 3G from USA in Europe other frequencies and modulation methods, Wifi is okay
I also bought a US 3G (Verizon) model without contract and am using it in South Africa, but wifi only. The Verizion 3G works on the CDMA network whereas AFAIK Europe (as is South Africa) works on the GSM network so 3G is not going to work. The CDMA network works sim free so I'm not even sure if the sim slot is currently active and will probably only be activated for the 4G rollout.
If you buy it without contract there is however no need to unlock it or register it on the Verizon network to use wifi.
Thanks guys. I was thinking the same way as the mobiles are working here very well with EU GSM 3G, but the tab is not for the GSM as there is no phone function. Since I have my nice HTC HD2 with android and 3G, I will be able to share internet to the tab where wifi is not available. And of course the wifi version is much cheaper. Thanks again.

Xoom tablet issues

Just wondering if anyone can help me or have any ideas to resolve this problem.
I purchased a Xoom while on holidays in the states. When purchasing I told the shop assistant that I live in the UK and the tablet will have to be compatible with UK networks.
I bought a 3G Sim card and the tablet will not connect. I got in touch with Motorola tech support and this is the response I got.
We just check the details you provided and we can confirm your tablet works on CDMA technology and was designed for US market [VERIZON WIRELESS]. It means that the tablet is not compatible with GSM technology and your 3G SIM-card will not work.
Is there anything I can do to get it work with 3G or am I stuck with a wifi version of the tablet!
Thanks
..... You have a wifi only tablet now, the sim is for verzion's 4g LTE network in the states.
I thought that was the case

It won't work. It is a hardware limitation of the device. You either need to buy a device that supports Bell's LTE frequency OR live with HSPA+. The only thing I can suggest is getting a new SIM card, BUT I highly doubt it will work.

[Q] XT1575 use in UK?

Hey guys,
I live in the UK currently and planning to switch my carrier to Three UK. According to wiki they use LTE bands 3 & 20. I was wondering if any one has used their XT1575 pure in the UK w/success of using LTE band 3? I don't wish to buy the XT1572 since I'm moving in about 8 months and want the XT1575 specifically. If anyone could please let me know their experience I would greatly appreciate it. Thanks
