[ROM] [MOD] >>> PAS <<< [PSN AOKP SLIM] [mini Gapps and sd-ext create] _ 30.12.2012
Hi everybody,
First of all, thanks to all the dev who have work in amount of me. All the gratifications go them.(but Thanks are welcome, and critics too ) And sorry for bad english.
Thanks to :
pidio1
lagloose and jellaxy team
psndna88
I used PSN , Aokp Jellaxy and fast slim jb. I implement a few inverted apps from here... for a light install.
Gapps are included, but minimum package. I replace GoogleNow with the awesome last update. (Always same bug with voice search, but… it’s cool at my point of view).
Android 4.2 clock
GoogleEars is present but you need to unfreeze before see and use widget, by using titanium backup for example.
Installation :
>Wipe data/factory
>Wipe cache
>Wipe dalvick cache
>>>>Install falshable zip
> Wipe data
>Wipe cache
>Wipe dalvick cache
>>>>Reboot
This will take some time but it’s for a good cause
>After the first boot, put all the sounds picker to the max.
Home Launcher is Lightning Launcher Home I was an unconditionnal user of Apex, and I find it more direct, faster.
For better personnalization and use : Nova Launcher.
> no animation
> Set your 'AS Ace' what you want.
>>>>Then reboot : sounds will be fix.
No need to flash some fix for gps, it works perfectly, like the Deepsleep, even if camera's use. But I suggest you to use gps status the first time to be sure.
I’ve delete all notifications sounds and some other files for more space. But the cyan’s notifications are all installed. After, you can install another if you want.
No bootanimation for fast boot. "Android" boot.
For best result of this fast moded rom, you can flash this PSN (don’t forget to wipe /data after, because if you make a backup and don’t, you won’t be able to restore) and AdrenalinePSN. It will install sdext mod also.
Some screenshots of battery usage in attachments
I've stop my moded 'cause I now use this awesome 4.2 from Wayland and team. But anyway thanks for your tests and supports.

Download :
> 30-12 release:
cpu changes are save at reboots
update psn files
PAS_30-12-2012
> 26-11 release:
added PSN for its better nim's kernel and create sd-ext partition, double swap, at first boot. First boot will take a moment, don't fear . "Boot time will be bit longer while swap partitions are being setup". It's for good cause
PAS_26-11-2012

Gmail, Google Agenda, SMS, PlayStore Inverted. Android 4.2 clock moded fully functionnal

Thanks. Tell me what do you think, if you think about more or less things... my first work.

Odd installation steps, will try out and report back
EDIT: tested, it's nice, elegant, smooth and customizable
2ND EDIT: Can't install any app, says device is unsupported for this version

have you tried to clear market data? if not work after that you can change dpi to 160 (i made it to 140).

New release... added PSN in flashable file... Don't forget to have an sd-ext4 before flash (use this, but create ext4 not not ext2). Plus, I have create a swap partition (128 mb), if you want too, make it primary too

Sometimes, download links don't work...

Which download links? those for flashing roms? Or in browser use?

Should I be scared if the first boot is taking +10 mins and counting?

the first boot can be long because of installation of rom and installation of psn (sdext and 2swap partitions). It can take longminutes around 10-15 mins.

I'll give this a go and report back
any feedback on a reliable phone only ask as my new born baby is in hospital so battery life and a daily driver is a must for a few weeks till he's home :good:
any screenies to view ??

ROM
1st impression - decent layout things take a while to load up, titanium backup has installed every app i use no issue's
no issues with market installs fine
i need to test GPS (Endomondo tracking is my fav for cycling)
my apps via TB (titanium) installed with no reboots and move to SD which is a bonus, keep up the good work :laugh:

This Rom is one of the best Jb Based i've tried..i really like the light of this rom + gapps inverted..
i found just a bug until now: I set SmartAss V2 as governor but at every reboot it doesn't save my choice and reset governor on ondemand.

I like the rom and its a good start
issue for me battery is steady but not good for me as im a heavy GPS user
my wifi is on/off very poor distance / range
i like the interface and selecting smartv2 is a lot less laggy than ondemand :good:
tried another launcher HOLO work nicely with it and installs with no issue's
keep up the good work

I'll see what I could do for better. I've tried some governor but I found than ondemand offers more battery life.
For Launcher I was addict by Apex but too lags with this rom (and some jb based, my thoughts )but lightning even if it's less customizes, is smoother. I've another which correspond more with my use, but too heavy at the moment. I'll give a test to holo, thanks, I didn't think about it from cm9

excellent look forward to the next release :good:
holo is smooth, i like the bottom line scrolling i get the idea on battery life but for me just makes the selection of apps a bit long winded
keep up the good work always appreciate a good rom build :laugh:

Thanks..if you can set smartassv2 as governor by default i think is better..because with smartassv2 the rom is more responsive and faster =)

Just one question,to be sure, have you tick the [set on boot] label under governor choice? Because i've test all since yesterday, with multiple reboots, and no change : my choices are safe for every reboot.

[ROM/Port] (Unofficial) CodeNameAndroid 1.4.0 Nightly (02/26) [4.0.3 ICS AOSP] [DEAD]

CodeName Android is now officially supported on the Vibrant so this thread's life is at an end.
Go here:http://codenameandroid.com/cna-1-5-0-add-multiple-devices-and-nightly-builds/ to get the latest nightly build.
or in XDA here for sixstringsg's build:http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1531135
HERE WE GO with CodeNameAndroid 1.4.0 Nightlies for my (or your) Vibrant. This is pure CNA. It is from a I9000 (nightly) build made by Bubble-be from the 02-26-2012 source.
Bubble-be’s thread: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1512938
It is a straight build from source, nothing added, nothing changed. I have only ported it to the Vibrant. GAPPS is not included so you will need to flash GAPPS after flashing the rom. I have removed the asserts in the update script so be sure you have a T-Mobile SGH-T959 Vibrant before flashing.
Please visit and donate at the CodeName Android Development Site @ http://www.codenameandroid.com
This is a port that I personally made for myself. I liked it so much I decide to share with all here.
If you are an experienced user try it out. As I made this for me, what you see is what you get.
Do not expect support, although I will try to help if you have problems. Please visit the pages linked above to get info and change logs etc.
Additional issues fixed in the 02/26 nightly besides those in the below change log.
* RIL issue (not correctly registering signal strength and taking a long time to get a signal after reboot) has been fixed.

GAPPS 02/24/2012: http://dl.dropbox.com/u/17980900/gapps-ics-20120224-signed.zip
A full wipe Flash is recomended for the first install.
My installation method:
Wipe data/factory reset
Wipe Cache
Format /system
Flash rom
Flash GAPPS
Wipe Dalvik
Fix permissions
reboot recovery
reboot system, wait 10 min for Dalvik cache to build
reboot system
Older ports
CNA 1.4.0 nightly 02/23
Rom: http://dl.dropbox.com/u/17980900/CNA_4.0.3_v1.4_2-24-2012_Vibrant.zip Kernel is Nelsons v12 b8 for ICS Passion
GAPPS 02/15/2012: http://dl.dropbox.com/u/17980900/gapps-ics-20120215-signed.zip
DaxINFINITY ported the CodeNameAndroid rom from the Nexus S to the I9000. http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1485734. 1.3.2 and 1.3.3 are ports of ports. GAPPS are included.
Here's the flashable zip of CNA 1.3.2 ported to the Vibrant (includes gps fix also) http://dl.dropbox.com/u/17980900/CNA_4.0.3_1.3.2_Vibrant-signed.zip
Here's the flashable zip of CNA 1.3.3 ( GPS works but it does not survive deep sleep) http://dl.dropbox.com/u/17980900/CNA_4.0.3-1.3.3-Vibrant-signed.zip
No Wipe needed over CNA 1.3.2, full wipe is OK and probably recomended if you are using a kernel other than stock.
Do a backup, try it out.
Best ICS if used!
I've been using this for about 4 hours and I have to say this is the smoothest most customizable ics rom I have used.
And thank you for posting all the need files, would have been nice when I flash this earlier.

Yeah, It's pretty sweet. I haven't run into any bugs yet.
The only thing I found is that the signal bars are full when you have service but nothing in between. So it shows either you have no service or full service but that's not a big deal.

I also have a no go on GPS. I need to find the right GPS files to insert.
edit: Flashed the Passion v9+gps kernel then then Passion b8 kernel on top of it rebooted and now gps locks.
edit: I put full rom up for download with gps fix in the OP.

Nice work, just a heads up I'm using the latest glich(b3) and got black screen after unlocking. But then I just locked then unlocked again and it was fine.
Edit: oh and by the way I don't think I'll go back to another ics rom, it has been that good!
The bomb
This rom is the bomb.....thanks Bob
WOW.
This is a pretty damn smooth rom. Smoother than the experience i've had with Passion.
Bob, I want you to make a [PORT] thread in the dev section. This is a really good ROM that you've ported. and I thank you.
I came directly from V13 Passion, no wipe. Did follow instructions from OP.
Some notes: The Bootanimation looks really low quality and pixelated.
Are you using the same kernel as Passion? It has the same image for the kernel loader.
The rom boots up REALLY fast.
Errors:
Currently my Market is NOT working. Rebooted, and I will perform OTHER things to try and fix it, but the error is "SERVER ERROR =RETRY="
I tried Wiping DATA,CACHE etc.
I will now try to push another VENDING.APK from the actual rom into this.
Cancel that, tried it, did not work. Also I looked in this ROMS System/APP and there is no Vending.apk ...?
=====================================================
I TRIED TO FLASH FROM ABSOLUTE WIPE market still does not work.
Another problemo: External SD does not show up mounted on computer.
Another: It takes a LONGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGG time to get signal for me.
Haven't tested if its just the signal not updating itself or not...
If nothing works, i'll wipe data(format) and then try again. This seems like a good rom to try out. I'll let others know as well.
*so far recommended to try by me, the smoothness is amazing.

Not sure about the market mine is working, but the external sd is a know problem. They are working on a fix in the next release over in the i9000 forum.
Mine also takes a while to get service, about a min if not more after boot.

Thanks, Things I've noted.
External SD does not show up on computer but works on phone.
It sometimes takes awhile after reboot to get phone service, but it comes. toggling wifi usually turns it on.
In the reboot menu it looks like reboot is selected but it's actually recovery. select reboot again and you're fine.
I'm using the Passion v12 b8 kernel. I tried Glitch but didn't like.
My market worked fine, but I have either upgraded from Passion v12 or did a wipe and started from scratch.
GPS works fine after a boot but IDK if will continue after deep sleep.
After a clean wipe, market is still not working, and it is not my wifi connection, i tried browser and went to other websites, and it works.
Anyone mind giving me their Vending.apk or something and tell me where to put it i thought it was system/app
Or anyone know what to do about Market problem?

ignore my issues about market, i rebooted for the... 6th time and then it decided to finally let me into Google Market. haha
Anyways i'll give it a shot for a day, and regarding the post above the one you posted, I don't have a data plan, so I don't ever use GPS anyways. Is there a way I can shut it off from pinging so much? remove gps files itself or something??
thanks for the great rom bro.
aww it doesn't have ICS style blue checkmarks

Hey bob if its giving you that much trouble, 1.3.3.1 is going to be released tomorrow with some fixes, so maybe wait till then. And a quick Q; where do you replace the kernel files in the rom zip so i dont have to flash it afterwards?
Alright thanks man, bootanimation goes in system/media correct?
Also, MAKE A THREAD FOR THIS RIGHT [email protected]$#@%[email protected]
IDK if you're going to keep the same name from ported rom or make a new one, but if you decide on a new one, make it something interesting something thats fun to say

The boot animation is a CWM flashable. or pull bootanimation.zip out and put in system/media.
Any ideas about the bit of lag i'm getting? It's mostly in the Settings app, I for example, uncheck/check something, it just holds for like 5 seconds and then registers my touch.

I'm not sure. I get it sometimes too, then it goes away. Something must be running in the backround. Try closing out apps in the app switcher and see if it helps.

INSTRUCTIONS
WARNING: Make a nandroid backup before downloading this!
If something goes wrong (even though it has been tested numerous times) its always good to have a backup! I am not responsible for anything that happens to your device as a result of this!
1. Download the .zip from goo-inside.me linked below
2. Reboot into ClockworkMod
3. Install zip from SD Card -> Browse for zip you just downloaded
4. Wipe Dalvik cache (in advanced menu)
4. Reboot
5. Heres the decision point: you can either end here, or you can continue on to install the V6 ICS Supercharger script. The process is a little bit involved, so if you don't want to continue, you don't have to. I reccomend you do continue though, as the Supercharger script makes a very big difference in terms of speed! For those of you who choose not to continue, thanks for installing the SUPREME Modpack! Enjoy your Touchpad! For those that want the ICS Supercharger too, continue below!
=======================================================
6. Download the latest Supercharger script from this post: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=991276 to your /Download folder (the file is called "V6_SuperCharger_for_Android-update8.sh.txt") (Note: the name might change if a new release of the script comes out)
7. Continuing to install the supercharger script... open up a file manager and rename the file to get rid of the .txt extension (so that it becomes a .sh extension)
8. Open up the app called Terminal Emulator on your Touchpad. If its not already installed (it should have come with CM9) then just install it from the market.
7. In the Terminal, type the following.
Code:
su
Then accept the Superuser request that opens up.
8. Then type:
Code:
sh /Download/V6_SuperCharger_for_Android-update8.sh
(Note: the name might change if a new release of the script comes out)
9. The screen will display some text as the script loads up. Be patient and wait.
10. After loading, it will come to a thing where it detects what launcher you are running. Press the enter key to confirm your launcher.
11. The script will do some more stuff and then ask for what type of scrolling you want. Type in "1" without quotes to confirm you want fast scrolling to make the install process quicker and then press enter.
12. It will do some more stuff and then ask about integration. Type "y" without quotes confirming you want integration and then press enter.
13. It will do some more stuff and then ask about animations. Type "y" without quotes confirming you want to disable the animation and then press enter.
14. It will do some more stuff and then ask about what type of Supercharger you want. Type "9" without quotes confirming you want the highest and most aggressive tweaks (they work the best for the Touchpad) and then press enter.
15. The script will finish up and then ask if you want to super clean your system. Type "y" without quotes and then press enter. Your system will reboot.
16. Go to this link: http://android.mimic.ca/
17. Upload your services.jar file from the /system/framework/ directory
18. Patch the file using the online patcher
19. Download the CWM file it gives you (the .zip). Don't worry about what it says about being for Nexus S.
20. Reboot to recovery and flash the CWM file it just gave you.
Congrats, you have the SUPREME Modpack and the ICS Supercharger scripts installed! Reboot normally and enjoy!
To update, just follow the same instructions as the install directions! You will also need to install every time you install a new ROM.

this sounds amazing but i am just wondering if i could edit this so it doesnt touch the dpi at all? i use 132 right now and dont want to mess with it, other then that this sounds amazing
First time posting in the touchpad forums...
I applied this mod and attempted to install 9mm but still got a "not compatible with this device" error. Unless I'm in error of some sorts I believe this game still has issues running on our devices. I at least had to give this a shot to maybe see if it would help with me getting this game installed.
Nonetheless excellent work and thank you for your contribution!

I added the build.prop text in the OP near the bottom, in a pastebin link. Copy the text from there, paste it into your build.prop, and then find the line for the density and edit that back to 132 before saving.

I don't own the game so I was not able to test it, sorry! I know this change has worked for Modern Combat 3, Asphalt, and a couple other games. I will look into making 9mm work, since this might be a problem across multiple games!
Testing now, will let you know how it goes over the next few days

Sorry for the n00b question, but how do you apply this ? By just installing the Alpha 2 or is there a standalone zip ?

Install the zip file from the link in the first post in clockwork recovery mode after you have installed Alpha 2.
I'm on Classicnerd Butta 0.1.1-v3.2 and will definitely flash this at work to test it out.

Im really looking forward to a smoother scrolling experience. I love my tp immensely but I've always found the very subtle studder of scrolling to be a little displeasing when it comes to scrolling in between home screens. Does this "smooth scrolling" enhancement effect web browsing scrolling?
I am definitely going to give this a shot bud, brb with thoughts and opinions. Thanks again for your work in this community.

Lmao.
Plug in your device. Then Go to: settings, then click on storage on the left. then on the top right you will see 3 vertical dots, click it for more options. "USB computer connections" will be available. Select it. Then check mark the "media device (MDP)" field.
If you're using windows, ignore the driver installer error prompt. Your TP should still be visible when you go to my computer.
Push Thanks if I helped. i hope I did. >.> lol
thanks it's working now.

This really works! I was stuck using 160dpi on Alpha2 because 120 or 132dpi both were not smooth, they had a small skip or judder when transitioning screens. Bugged the heck out of me so I set it to 160dpi where it is smooooth.
I flash this build.prop this morning and 132 is now just as smooth! Not sure what else it fixed but it didn't break anything which is always a good thing. Me happy
Thanks Rohan!
Nice one
Changed the build.prop in notepad to 160dpi then saved over the top and just flashed, now I'm playing BackStab HD! Thank you very much!
Thanks for doing this but I have a question. In your OP, you listed:
disables error checking (may have side effects)
Does this affect the SD card error checking (fsck_msdos) that the TP does on boot, which shows up as Preparing SD card on notifications?
Btw, just a suggestion that it might be a good idea to put a line in your OP and recommend doing a nandroid backup or at least backing up of the original build prop file before flashing this. Thanks again.

Hi guys, sorry, just got back from school. I've answered some of your questions below.
Also, just wanted to say that tonight I will be adding a whole boatload of improvements via the init.d file. I worked on it at school today for a little bit at lunch and it should bring a whole host of speed improvements and smoother aspects to CM.
@Mr.Quipster Yes, this also affects the web pages. It increases the screen's refresh rate when scrolling, thus allowing a "smoother" experience.
@ruthienu I've changed it so that StageFright, the media streaming tool in Android 2.2+ scans meta tags, as well as HTTP filesystems for media. It doesn't hurt to have these lines in there if you aren't using media streaming. It also doesn't interfere with anything else. If you want to delete it, flash the zip and delete lines 101-104 [the ones starting with media.stagefright(...)]
@webdroidmt Nope, this disables something called CheckJNI. It basically scans the system every now and then for things such as invalid variables and arrays, bad buffers, and some UTF-8 errrors. None of the errors it catches are system-threatening and disabling it frees up a substantial amount of RAM. If you do not want this to be enabled as a feature then simply flash the zip, then edit your build.prop and delete the line "ro.kernel.android.checkjni=0". And thanks for the suggestion, added a warning

Best ICS configuration achieved(how to) :D

This thread is for helping new comer or beginners with setting up a awesome ICS configuration on their SGS.
Warning:to increase multitasking capabilities of our SGS,Swapping method is used,but by using this method,your sd card life will degrade for sure over time,worst scenerio your SD card can die,you have been warned.(you can change your SD card since it cost nothing compared to our SGS )
Ok,so i have seen people asking about the best ICS rom or configuration for our beloved SGS,so i made this all in one thread how to make ICS run smooth on our SGS.I have been installing roms like hell,tried almost all the roms present out there,finally settled at one.
This guide include installation of rom,kernel,setting up swap partition and activating it,installing mods,and some amazing apps.This can help all the begginers out there.
Definition of smooth rom for me:-
1)Atleast 5 or 6 pages of apps installed
2)Running spb mobile shel or tsf ui as home launcher(though i m in love with tw5 now a days ,but eventually will go to tsf ui,love it )
3)Can multitask games,atleast two of them,possible with the heavy launcher running in the background.
4)Decent battery life
5)Since we are talking about ICS,i would love to have it with the annoying "media scanning bug"
6)Last but not the least,Rom should have every feature and tweaks possible
awwkaayy,so Lets get to it.
Step 1:ROM
Choose correct base ICS rom,i love the stability and speed Tsunamics Rom,so i would suggest you to install that first.I am assuming that you know how to install ICS ,IF possible do a clean install by wiping everything.
Tsunami Rom 2.2
Tsunaics rom in my opinion is the most stable rom i have used,and since is based on aokp,It contains all the latest features.
Step 2:KERNEL
Since we need a multitasking rom,we need a kernel with swap support.
So devil kernel is the one for that.Grab the latest kernel from here.
Devil Kernel
recovery->wipe cache->wipe dalvik cache->install Kernel.
Step 3:Setting up swap(most important)
For the starters,those who dont know what is swap,just say that its a way to increase your ram by partitioning your externel SD card and reserving some space with can be used as ram when needed.The partition used is Linux swap.
For help on partitioning your SD card,Please refer to the following link:
(Tip before you go to that link.Dont make ext partition since it is for a2sd,and we dont particularly need that,just make a swap partion of 512 mb,Its enough for our SGS)
http://forum.xda-developers.com/wiki/SD_card_partitioning
After doing that,go to this link and grab that attached zip.
NOW,
Reboot into recovery with your external sd card inside your phone,and install that zip you just downloaded,and it will show succes if everything goes well and if you did everything as told.Now your swap partition is activated with swappiness value 60.Dont reboot just now,Go to next step.
whats swappiness???google it,60 is the optimum value for it.
Step 4:Setup kernel profiles according to needs
Before rebooting setup up your kernel fully so you dont have to reboot again
i use following configuration.
Recovery->Devil->Performance setting->Smooth settings
Recovery->Devil->misc->Vibrator intensity->Low
Recovery->Devil->Misc->Wifi mode->PM_fast mode.
Done.
NOW your Rom,Kernel,Swap partition is all set up,Enjoy multitasking rom with awesome speed and stability.
To check Swap partition is working or not.
Go to terminal
type su then enter;
type "free" then enter;
It will show you the usage of your swap partition if everything went well.
Step 5:MORE Important tweaks
Most Important one:Correcting Media Bug problem
since on almost all the ICS roms,Eventually this media scanning bug comes up atleast for me,Install Rescan media app from market.
And use it when you get doublets or triplets in your gallery and music player.It comes in handy .
First one:
Flash modem according to your place if you aint getting good signals.i use ZSJPG
since it works best in India.
Second:
Go to Setting->Tsunamics Control->Performance->Scrolling cache->Force disable.
Third:
Settings->developers options->Force gpu rendering->tick;
Step 6:Recommended apps and settings
First:Install Voodoo Control App and set the following config
Headphone amplifier: -3;
bass boost:enable;
gain: +7db;
Dynamic Range full;
color profile:voodoo profile;
Screen RGB multiplier:
RED:2309122400
Green:2309122400
Blue:2701672960
Screen v1 Gamma Hack:
Red= -38;
Green=-41;
Blue=-32;
Tip: if you get green tint,do the following:
keep on increasing V1 gamma hack sliders by 1 or 2(al three of em)
untill you stop getting green tint while locking and unlocking.
Second:Updater app
go to setting->update me->Launchers->download latest touchwiz Ux and flash and reboot.
go to setting->update me->fonts->choose your font and flash.
i use comic sans,looks cool
IN THE END: peace and fun
Now you have ICS on your sgs with bloody lot of customization thanks to AOKP base,a optimized system thanks to robingrg from anroidiani.com,sexy multitasking capabilities thanks to DerTeufel1980 for providing support for swap partition,and system is bloody fast now because of all the above people and tweaks.
Tips:
Important apps recommended to install:
*Quick Desk pro,Sexy app for multitasking,get it and check it,its awesome and cool like
*Battery calibration app;
*Camera ICS;
*Samsung keyboards(Use updater app for it);
*Mx Video Player since we all need a decent video player in the end.
*PowerAmp music player:trust me you can not get more better music quality then this,its just amazing and out of this world music app
*A Decent Task manager,since your ram has been increased virtually so there will be a lot of background apps running
*GO sms Widget,go for reading and replying from home screen only.
*Go power master:nice app for your battery and provide power widget which can expand completely showing all the on off switches,try putting it over Quick Desk pro.
uummm what left????i will add if something comes to my mind...
i guess thats it...
enjoy
okh yep credits
*Samsung for SGS
*AOKP team for base
*robinrg from androidiani for sexy rom
*DerTeufel1980 for his awesome kernel
*bitblaster for his swap partition detecting script

[ROM][4.1.2][AOSP] LANIGHT (Project eXtreme Butter) [v8.5_Datadata/v6.0_Nodatadata]

This Rom is also available for Samsung GT-I9000 variant from HERE.
There is also a port for X-Bean from GT-I9000 from HERE.
This is it folks. If you think you've seen fast, you're in for a surprise! Please NO derivative work without permission.
LANIGHT is a pure AOSP build, meaning it is NOT CM or built from CM source, so please do NOT ask for CM features. However, it does use device/hardware files from CM10 and rest from Nexus S.. so any device specific problems that is in CM may or may not be in LANIGHT. If you don't like AOSP, move on.
I will rarely post on the thread mostly because of well known reason. It is a development thread, if you can't flash or download apps(Gmail and such) from market or simpler tasks, YOU ARE spamming the thread. Help yourselves by flashing stock firmware from Kies. Remember, I can't fix stupid or lazy. Please read the whole OP and search before you start typing. There has been NO bug that i have faced since my first release except the ringtone problem(4.2)(SOULTION) which has been solved with the latest release(5.2). If you have WiFi problems, flash anything 2.0 and above or below 5.2 (For 5.2 FLASH THIS.) because there is no telling what is the issue, i didn't face that issue so i don't know unless you provide log.

No, listen just flash JVT or whatever modem you used to use on your previous JB build. Why are you swapping kernels? I don't understand. Did you have this problem before?

This is an old kernel and i choosed it for cautious purposes. Please don't poke around and cause yourself problems. Flash X-Bean or CM10 or AOKP first and try this rom. May fix it.
About the Ext SD card. I don't have an External SD card to test so that's why i put in the op it's untested. Not necessarily kernel related.
i did flash a modem i used with CM10 and wifi still couldnt turn on, and USB mount of ext sdcard problem was with kernel it came with right out the box. thats why i swapped kernels, but yea ill let u know which datadata kernels i use. just gotta find those kernels. havent kept up with all the new stuff and just saw this at the top of the forum
i been flashing this phone for years so i have a lil bit of clue of what im doing. i can usually solve some of my problems

Strange visualization of some apps (e.g. Jrummy's Root Browser Lite) with wrong space and scale between graphic elements. Text in Google Play is near white, almost unreadable, also in Viber's popup windows. Some chinese symbols in calendar. Email's input fields dirtied by strange blue lines. Compass ovalized.
Deleted useless (for now) scripts:
00banner, 01mountsd, 02miuithemeprop, 04 first boot, 05 lagfixer, 07 writeback, 09scardspeedfix, 97swap2sd, net_buffer, remount_fullext4, s99drop_cache.
Also, maybe I'm wrong but it seems to me that swap file function isn't supported by kernel, apparently you cannot have a swap file.
Modified also build.prop but only to meet my needs of mantain scripts as clean as possible!
UPDATE 2: deleted /system/default.prop, the values here aren't well suited for this rom causing instability or reboots. It will be automatically replaced by the default file residing in the ram disk.
UPDATE 3: replacing kernel with that taken from latest LeWa rom (only for test purposes, some devices e.g. bluetooth will not works!) you can activate the swap file. Sorry I cannot try further this rom, I hope that the next version will be better.
This rom is enjoyable although not perfect, needs some work but the path is right! My bests!
Additionally: auto-retrieve MMS doesn't work.
