Google the Droid 3 root method. It is very straightforward and also works on the stock OTA .602 Droid X build.

anyone have any ideas?
wow... really? no one?
Better late than never!
I have Cellular South...or C-Spire also, and I just upgraded to the Milestone X from a HeroC as well. I just typed you up this nice and helpful response to help you, but unfortunately, I'm a new user, so I could't post any outside links. IF you'd still like the help, you can email me and I'll send you back the response that I saved. Just put MILESTONE X in the subject line so I won't miss it.

The Milestone X is identical to the Droid X, it's just renamed by C Spire to avoid licensing issues I suppose.

How? I was able to get my nTelos one rooted running the 2.2.2 but the Gingerbread 2.3.5 update is coming soon and I'm scared to upgrade. Is it worth it? How did you root?

use this DooMLoRD_v3_ROOT-zergRush-busybox-su.zip
So did you just create an ADB and root it with that package. Where did you find that package? Any instructions?
It is weird coming from the HTC Hero with tons of information on rooting, etc and coming to the Milestone X where there isn't too much.
What else have you done your Milestone X?

I just bricked my ntelos Milestone X. It had done the OTA 2.3.5 update today, and I tried to sbf back to 2.2. Silly me! Now when I turn it on, all I get is the bootloader screen with a MEM_MAP Blank error. Looks like there is no way to sbf out of this either....presently. Any thoughts?

can you boot recovery?
EDIT: nevermind silly question.... same thing happened to me... had no choice but to warranty the phone... without a working sbf for the milestone x, that mem_map blank error pretty much means your are fully bricked.

not really, you can flash milestone 604 ezSBF then root with zergrush
you still have to burn the ezSBF to CD or USB flash drive

The root cd/iso that sd posted isn't that difficult. Make a bootable disc. Boot your computer from said disc. Follow the on screen instructions.
I've done it 5 times now. three dx, one d2, and one d2g.

What the Hell are the words you are saying? Are you trying to say that these roms are compatible with safestrap? If so, where are the links for these roms? I understand if English is not your first language, but this post is not coherent enough.
Thank you for idea and list of roms but links will be really useful

Whats up, my brother gave me his razr maxx hd xt926 yesterday and he wants me to switch it to GSM so he can use ST. I promised him ill do more than that with your phone! well when I got on my computer I was seeing that you cant unlock or get root because he had the latest update, this is what h its running 9.30.1 XT926 4.1.2 build 9.8.1q-94-1 . luckily I got root using saferoot that's one problem down. now I would be glad if anybody could point me in the right direction for the next step I should take to be able to get roms and that cool stuff. the switching to GSM looks like no problems. I know I need a recovery to. should I install a recovery first or do the GSM thing first witch one is best to do first? I already have root and phone is still locked.
Search for safestrap 3.12
It's great and simple to use.

Never mind the top post, that was a post I did in another thread awhile ago just copied and pasted it here. ok I finished all the steps, now all I need to know is what are good roms that I can install using safestrap recovery that wont mess with the at&t service I'm about to use. Thanks getting the hang of this
Only 3 are current:
There are 2 in the dev section (1) & (8) from the op's list.
Then this guy @Q9Nap aka mhous33 has one just as he did for the 907 here. http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=45541392&postcount=1
Rom/guide:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=45541404&postcount=2
His link will let you access his 926 builds too.
Use my rom/guide op as a tutorial.

while there has not been ported to 4.4 for us to enjoy the locked bootloader. update patient there may be a bright spot for us to be unlocked and enjoy. be patient and enjoy the current rom.
Yes Prabu is right, we have to wait untill there is a bootloader unlock for latest build 9.30.1, after that we can have custom roms,
Hi all, can any one please help here, i flashed the Rage HD 2.6 rom with safestrap, later on i went back to stock, there is rage hd startup screen every time fone boots up, i flashed the fone with razr HD utility, 1.34, even still it shows up the rage hd boot screen, how to have motorola logo back, please, any help would be appriciated.
Do you mean bootanimation? If yes, just replace /system/media/bootanimation.zip with original one.
Sent from my Razr Maxx HD
No not boot animation, i've done that, copied stock boot animation zip in system/media, but that didnt work. Its rage hd splash screen with lightening and blue color, immediately after power on, earlier it was moto M sign in red color.
Are sure that you don't have unlocked bootloader?
