Go to T-Mobile store. Ask them to swap you out for a micro-SIM. Should be free.

Does galaxy come with micro sim ?

I'm picking mine up tonight and I wondering if I have to buy a micro sim card or if the phone comes with one.
Mine came with one installed. ATT.
My tmo one came with one
Sent from my SGH-T999 using Tapatalk 2
yes it come with micro sim card when you get phone
AT&T did not send one with mine so I had to go to the AT&T store to get one
It should come with one -T-Mobile
Can't imagine a LTE phone requiring a micro SIM not including one... the online store pages for both t-mo and AT&T state that a microSIM is included in the box.
Do any other LTE capable phones have micro SIM yet?

Mine came with one, i'm with AT&T. I just got an email from BB showing my receipt, they ended up comping the phone for me due to the fiasco with the preorder/launch...the receipt shows $29.99 for the sim, but again, I paid nothing. That being said, i'm not sure if they are charging for it or not.

It seems unlikely to me that SAmsung would ship an external MicroSD card with a phone that has 16GB of internal storage, but the Canadian Versions DEFINITELY didn't come with the extra MicroSD. The shop att website states that one is not included in the box, tho it IS at&t, so who knows...

LOL, it happens.
After adding a line to get this phone, I now have a spare microSIM and regular SIM....can't really do anything with them, right?
CDMA versions apparently come with non replaceable microsims burried somewhere deep inside the phone.

[Q] Sim Card size?

Is the sim tray for a micro sim or a standard size sim card? Don't just say yes or no, need some kind of proof.

Okay thank you. I've heard that you can cut your old standard sim yourself to make it fit, is that true?

You can, but it may be easier to just go to your local carrier and have them give you a micro
Yup

Yeh, there are loads of tools on amazon for this:
(Had to remove URL due to XDA new member rules)
..Or you can be daring and use a decent pair of scissors!
So if someone had an iPhone 5 and hated it they could switch out micro Sims between the two phones without having to go to the AT&T store and having them have to do it?

iPhone 5 uses nano-SIM, which is even smaller than micro-SIM that the N4 and most recent Android phones are using
microsim. just go to your carrier and they should give you one. its the same size one as the current sgs 3, htc one, and other phones. you can get an adapter to turn your microsim into a full size sim when you need to via ebay for 2 bucks or so.
If you have T-Mobile as your carrier, just go into one of your local retailers and ask for a micro-sim. I got mine free of charge.
Here is from my other post. There is a video by google explaining how to insert sim card:

Question about Cutting my Sim Card

I was wondering, if I cut my Sim into a Micro Sim
Will this work with the Nexus 4?
http://www.ebay.com/itm/Micro-Stand...533530?pt=PDA_Accessories&hash=item4849b96a9a
EDIT: hrmmm that's micro to nano?
You want normal SIM -> Micro SIM. If you already have a micro sim then you're set.
EDIT 2: Relooked at it, should work.
I have a Standard Sim, I need to make it a Micro
Sometimes if you go in your carrier will cut it or give you a micro sim free.

That is the wrong cutter. Nano is not what you need. There are templates you can print too if you want to try it. Videos as well..
sent via xda premium with nexus 7 while waiting for my back ordered Nexus 4-hoping for it today or tomorrow!!
Cut mine by hand using a template from Google images, no problems

Yeah but the description of the item says.
7. Can convert Standard SIM into Micro SIM.
8. Can convert Standard SIM into NANO SIM.
Which is confusing, as all the images say it converts
Micro to Nano
Standard to Nano

Just request a new sim? What I did...
I"d have to pay $25 for a new sim, cheaper to buy one of these for like five bucks.

Likewise. It's fairly simple actually, but micro-sim cutter would be ideal for those who think they would mess up.
Please post all questions in the Q&A section. Thanks. Thread moved.
I tried to cut my Rogers regular SIM down to size. didn't work.
Next day went in and bought a microsim, now sold for $10.
Yes, I actually went ahead and cut it down to nano size and am using an adapter to bring it back up to micro.

I don't live in the usa, im in canada.
Sim cutters are a waste of money, I printed out a template, made the marks then cut it with scissors. Everything outside the metal plate is cheap soft plastic, can be easily cut with scissors or wire cutters. Its not precision science, as long as it fits in the tray it will work.
If you have the motor skills to operate scissors without cutting off a finger then you can cut a sim card

you're an idiot...
anyways, cutting the SIM is very easy, so don't buy the SIM cutter. If you're in the US, you can buy a micro SIM for $1 from Tmobile. That's probably more money saved than driving to the local Tmobile store.
Lets keep it civil please.

Quick question.

It's been a while since I've upgraded, actually.. I haven't ever since I've been on T-Mobile.
Still using my Nexus 4. When I first got that phone I had to input a bunch of data on the T-Mobile website like the phone IMEI or whatever..
When I get my 6P will I need to do all of that or can I just pop my sim in and go? Will I need to set up an APN or anything?
Thanks!
Probably just pop in the sim and go. The sim may be a different size in which case you would either need an adapter or new sim from tmobile. Tmobile would tell you that you probably should update to a new sim after several years or you could possibly experience some problems. You can always try your existing sim first.
NCguy is right. The sim is a different size in the 6p.

Thanks, I think I will try cutting it once I have the 6P in my hands.
I don't really have the extra money to be spending on sim cutters when I can do it myself..
especially when I will probably only use it once..
If it fails, I live a block away from T-Mobile.
Just be careful. A sharp edge or a cheap adapter can actually ruin your phone.
Not sure if it happens with T-Mobile, but for a lot of carriers you can go in and get it swapped and transferred over pretty quickly.
