HD2 is a 2009 model that does not support multi touch function.
get those newer models that can even have 5 point touch functions

5? I'm reasonably sure it goes up to 20, although you'd never use that many.

Hello GRG13,
the prime version of Nova Launcher supports multi touch features. Ah, I just saw but only up to 2 fingers.
Best regards

Software isn't the problem, it's the hardware. Arguably the decision to have this hardware was based on the WinMo software which didn't use/support multitouch (not sure about that but I'm just guessing here) and HTC chose that they didn't need a particularly good screen.

[Q] More than 2 touch points?

Hi guys!
First of all, thanks for your great job with this fantastic phone.
Here's my question: Currently there is a way to run more than 2 touch points? If no, there is a chance to make it works in the future, or is Hardware-Limited? I read somewhere, that the hardware support more than 2 points...
Now i'm using this rom with MALDGR 1.13.
Thanks in advance.
The HD2 only supports dual-touch like the HTC Desire. Not true multi-touch really.

And kernel.org down for maintenance hasn't helped a bit
Isn't it going to be the only option if you want ICS as htc won't be allowed to put their sense overlay on it anyway? At least for a year that is.

HTC wasn't allowed to put Sense on WP7. Still, they have their Market section full with HTC Apps.

Isn't wp7 a whole different scenario though? I mean there aren't any custom UI's from manufacturers. Which is totally different to android at the moment.

Depends on the Point of View. On the matter of UI, is WP7 different to Android (general)? Hell yes it is. WP7 is, like iphone, much more closed (we're talking UI here, not in general).
Now, is WP7 that much different to ICS? Nope... it isn't
Still... as with WP7 (and i've tried it), HTC, Samsung, LG, and many others will provide their palette of software. Exclusive software.
Examples on WP7
HTC:
HTC Hub
Flashlight
Photo Enhancer
HTC Youtube
Notes
Attentive Phone
Locations
Converter
Stock
Connected Media
Lists
Calculator
Dock Mode
Love
Samsung:
Rubik's Cube
Photo Studio
Photogram
MiniDiary
FunShot
AllShare
Network Profile
PhotoSharing
RSS Times
Mobile Print
LGE:
SmartShare
Weather & Clock
Panorama Shot
Tool Box
QR Reader
Voice to Text
Photo Stylist
ScanSearch
PostNote
Not a UI, but still a nice addition to the tiny WP7 Marketplace

you can use SwiftkeyX too, in the settings from swiftkey you can change it, see arrows or not, and for me the best thing, is a real num block.
I can advise swiftkeyX too. I use it every day and it works great. You can adjust it a little bit. (e. g. you can install some languages to use for suggestions).
cheers people

Some questions before getting Nexus 7

Hi, I'm getting Nexus 7 on Christmas, and I would like to ask some questions.
How's tablet mode with this tablet?
Any defects which are popular?
Are any game lagging? (I will play a lot I think)
If your on 4.1.2 you can change it to tablet mode or with a custom ROM. Mine has minor screen lift. Don't mind since I have accidental. And gaming is awesome!

I think I'll run PA, I had it on my One X and it was awesome. Thanks for the answer!
There are many people having defects.. but you exchange it untill you get a perfect one LOL
About tablet mode, I just tried it and I don't know which one I like most... I highly reccomend you to hide navigation screens and top bar, so you can get use of your screen at 100% and with gmd gestures you can go back forward recent applications move directly to homescreen etc...

Only way would be to make a "similar" launcher by yourself using Nova/GO/APEX etc etc and just tweak it. You can't/won't be able to use any HTC .apk's on your Note due to framework incompatibilities.
HTC sense is perfect system, but I cannot understand, why we cannot use it on our devices, because I think, that it can be ported. But may be I'm completely wrong as only htc kernels sources are available.
