Mytouch to Nexus??

I have a mytouch 3g (3.5mm jack) and im kinda tired of it.. its kinda slow... So whats the fastest phone i can use with tmobile? is it the nexus??? or i should wait for something else to come out?? is it worth it the upgrade???
Also i have heard that the internet on the nexus is alot slower than the internet on the mytouch (3G)

I have never used the mytouch. I've held it in my hand and whatnot, at the store, and goofed off with it. And I've noticed that the response time is noticeably slower than my Nexus, and the nexus just feels amazing in my hand, and is a breeze to use. I can't tell you about the internet speeds, but I would take a Nexus over a mytouch any day.
is there anything coming out for tmobile?? I need to buy it with out a contract so $500... I would hate to spend that much today and tomorrow something else will come
how is the nexus compared with the n900??
Samsung Galaxy S is coming out next month...

If you are always waiting for the latest and greatest, you'll never get anything because as soon as something comes out, something better is coming out "soon".
Personally, I have an N1 and would not give this up for any phone on the market now, or anything coming out anytime soon.
so the $500 are deff worth it?

Better is a subjective term for you and you alone to decide.
I'd rather buy an N1 unlocked for $500 and save $ with the EV+ plans than buying a Galaxy at $199 paying $70-80/mo if that is what you are asking...

Well i have a family plan.. so i could get it from google's at $529, i looked in craiglist and chapest one is about $450 (tampa, FL) so i rather pay the extra and get warranty from google.
hey miguel, there is a seller on craiglist who is selling his nexus one for 400 dollars. you want his number? i can pm you since we live in the same city.
i dunno about you, but i think 400 is pretty cheap compare to what i see on threre. i would have get it if i didn't got one yesterday for 450 dollars and if it didn't took him a long time to reply my texts.
Samsung galaxy eats the n1 in power and gpu and has a beautiful super amoled screen with a flawless touch screen and it records 720 p without a hack....
But it has no flash, froyo wont be soon unless custom and well its Samsung and looks like a iphone...
If it had flash 10.1 and a camera flash. Id be on it... damn no flash for camera what?

Or ebay. Probably be able to get a better price on craigslist if you wait it out and find a good seller. Might even be able to trade for it.
They are going for around 480 on ebay right now. I lucked out and bought one for 430. I have another one that has a few small scratches on the screen that I would sell you for 425, including shipping, through paypal. PM me for details.
I switched from a Nexus to a Evo 4g. Reason being is that T-Mobile's service isn't that great where I live. Like I'm at my sisters right now and I get 2 bars of Edge on my Nexus and Full bars of 3g on my Evo. Anyways, Nexus is one of the best phones on the market, I feel sad that I made the switch, but I couldn't take the spotty coverage anymore. I'd recommend you look up and see if
Samsung Galaxy is interesting to you, otherwise just get a Nexus.
yea, the good thing about t-mobile is that they don't have a lot of good phones lol. so you save a lot of bucks without having to catch up to technology. tbh, the nexus one is nice. and wow, some of you have more hat one nexus? you guys are ballin lol. but nexus one at 300 something dollars is a really good deal.

WTB: N1 with 3G 850 Band

Like the title said i want to buy a New or recently puchased N1. However, it must have 3g 850 band. I am on AT&T.
Holla.
Ebay, Criagslist, Kijiji, etc.
Take your pick
I'll let mine go for $400 + your captivate
Sign up for Google Developer's Account, for $25, then you can buy the Nexus One directly from Google any version you want for $529.

i wanted to buy a n1 ever since it was out. i recent bought an iphone 4 and turn around and sold that pos. with the money i can buy a n1 now. but now google is out and now in the streets looking for one to work on att. honestly why would you sell a n1. way i see it, its the purest android out there.
Just got me a n1. Pick one up from craigslist. This thing is nice. Better than what I expected. Had a captivate but so glad I returned it. Maybe captivate has better screen. So what this thing is modifiable. After I bought the captivated I troll around everyday. Just put it this way. Not much developed. Very happy so far. Let the modifying begin. What to do first. There is much. Lol.

Decision on buying Unlocked or AT&T Brand

If I buy an unlocked version for AT&T where is the best place to buy one? I would want one with a warranty first and foremost. Also, is the home button one that goes out easily? Will the phone run as fast as the one that will come out on AT&T officially? I wouldn't want to spend a ton of money on an unlocked one to find out it's slower than the one that AT&T puts out for hundreds of dollars cheaper.
Next is what about warranty. How safe am I buying unlocked? I have read a lot on this board about yellow stains and stuck pixels. How common are these to get? I don't want to buy a phone that's so much money to be stuck with these problems.
Thanks all
AJ

Expansys-USA provides warranty support for phones they sell meaning they'll ship it back to the UK if it needs service. If you buy it from an authorized dealer in the U.K. it's covered by Samsung's two-year global warranty. Regardless, count on being without your phone for a couple of weeks if it needs repair. If you're looking for the safety and security of a direct replacement overnighted from your carrier and loss/theft coverage importing a phone probably isn't for you.

It seems sturdy and I don't think there were problems with the SGS1 which utilized a home button also.

Unless the AT&T version has an upgraded processor then it wouldn't be any faster. T-Mobile is getting a version with the same Qualcomm chip as the Sensation which hasn't benchmarked well. The leaked pics of Sprint's version appears to be a real SGS2. Nothing specific's been posted about AT&T's version so it could be a 4.3" display with an Exynos chip or a 4.5" display with a Qualcomm chip. They just announced there first LTE phone won't be out until the end of the year and code for AT&T's LTE network was found in one of the latest ROMs. This means their SGS2 might not come out for a while or they'll be releasing it sooner as an HSPA+ phone vs. an LTE phone.
Next is what about warranty. How safe am I buying unlocked? I have read a lot on this board about yellow stains and stuck pixels. How common are these to get?

There have been some QC issues with the screen and some variances in color temperature from device to device. If you but if from Expansys exchanging it would be fairly simple. If you buy it in the UK it'll cost you shipping. Stay away from Handtec, they were hassling people on display related exchanges.

I would get international version for faster updates or bug fixes. You get to have SGS2 before many people.
Also, is HSPA+ phone as fast as the LTE phone? Will I even notice that big of a difference?
So newegg is a no go. I checked out Expansys-US and it looks legit.

LTE only matters if you plan on keeping the phone for a long time. AT&T's only going to have 15 markets up this year. If you get an international phone you can get fake-4G for $10 a month. LTE, while faster, is $30 for 2GB of data and $10 per GB beyond that. And you can't tether at that price. I stream video and tether a tablet and have had no speed issues and I'm in a 3G market.
You sound really paranoid about getting an international phone. You need to think hard about the downside.
- Warranty work will easily take weeks.
- You can buy accident insurance from SquareTrade for $94 for two years but you can't get theft/loss protection.
- If there are QC defects out of the box it'll be a pain to exchange the phone.
The upside is you can get cheap unlimited data (via AT&T), upgrades directly from Samsung, and there's no carrier molestation with crap added or functions stripped out.
Personally, if AT&T gets the same phone T-Mobile is (4.5" display/Qualcomm chip), I'd skip it. Without the Exynos chip the 4.5" phone is an SGS2 for marketing purposes only.
Not paranoid just getting all of the facts. Is the att version going to be 4.5?

No warranty. Also, their phones have been sourced from some strange places including Russia. If you're going to mod the phone than where it's from is less important.

So do any models actually have a real US warranty? (I.e. Not the Expansys deal).
I didn't think Samsung offers any US warranty coverage since the GSII hasn't been produced for the US.
I saw the "International Warranty" model on Amazon but no one can prove it's actually warranted...they just assume it's covered in the US.

If you send a phone to Samsung for repair they'll ask for a copy of the invoice and possibly a credit card statement if they're suspicious about the authenticity of the invoice. Any phone purchased outside it's intended market of sale is considered grey market and therefore has no warranty. Same thing for purchasing it from a retailer not authorized by Samsung. Since no model of the SGS2 is intended for sale in the U.S. buying it from anyone in the U.S. means it has no warranty - no matter what the seller might tell you. Supposedly, because the warranty is considered global, a properly purchased UK phone should be repaired by Samsung in the U.S. No one's tested that though. Expansys, because they have offices in the UK, ships the phone back through their UK office for warranty repairs.
If I were to buy Expansys-US would be the place because they do cover it. Now only problem is what if I buy it and AT&T come out with theirs in two weeks LOL! Also, what's the fail rate on the screens, etc?

AT&T WILL probably have the Galaxy S II in a few weeks... if you can you are probably better off waiting to see which model you prefer. I heard US varients of the GS II were getting Tegra processors and of course AT&T will cripple the phone with bloatware and slow updates.. so I went ahead and got an unlocked one from Amazon that DOES have a warrenty. Who knows, maybe AT&T will surprise everyone and keep the Galaxy S II the way it should be.

[CANADA] Samsung Galaxy S6 Canadian User Thread

Just wanted to start a thread to gather all info about the Canadian S6.
I'm wondering if there's going to be a big difference between the Canadian carrier variants and the US carrier variants.
Stock firmware can be found here: http://www.sammobile.com/firmwares/database/SM-G920W8/
Excited as well. You getting the edge or regular?
I think if anything our model will be close to the T-Mobile Model.

Yup, just like the Note 4 Canadian and T-Mobile, pretty much the same.
The S6 regular is actually the way to go. The edge is fancy dancy but there is NO use for it except to show off. You lose screen area, I played with both and the edge is awful.

I'm most likely going to get the s6 normal, I feel the edge doesn't justify spending an extra ~$100.
Does anyone know if there's going to be any demos before the launch, like at Best Buy in the US?

I've been planning to get the regular S6 for awhile now since I personally feel the edge (at this point) is a little gimmicky and I don't see much potential for features that I'd really miss (I don't put it facedown to see notifications, I'll likely have a case, and I definitely wouldn't use it as a night clock). To add further insult, it's an extra $100 for it. It does look fancy though, and the curves make it look like a slimmer phone.
However, what makes the edge "awful" in your opinion? I'm curious. I only heard from 1 (maybe 2 reviews?) that it doesn't feel as nice to hold onto.
To address the original question, the Canadian and US variants will likely be the same. While I'm on Rogers ($50/month, 6GB data, etc., anybody? ), I do hope it supports AWS bands for Wind Mobile. I'm all open for it supporting all the bands.

Getting a 64 S6 Edge Gold.. Rogers...... I am excited... all over GTA the best buy and rogers locations have Demos.....
I pre-ordered both S6 and Edge in Gold 64GB variant as didn't know how each would feel in hand. This was prior to the demo phones being set up. Now that I've tried both, I'm leaning toward the regular S6. The S6 just feels more comfortable to hold. Also I'm not sure if I can get over the distorted colours at the curves on Edge display now that I've seen it. Plus to securely grip it because it has such thin metal sides, I'd have to grip the actual curve screen which might trigger some touch points. This might be annoying. However the Edge is the definite better looker whereas the S6 has the similar look of older models outside of its better construction materials. I'll keep both reserved and see how gold looks on both. Tough..

Any ideas when canadian carriers are going to have stock? Preordered mine through Fido at the beginning of the month. I thought the release date is April 10 but there's a thread on r/android that T-Mobile preorders are shipping now.

I don't know exactly when they will have stock, but I wouldn't bet on getting one early. I pre-ordered mine through Rogers. They ship it to your local Rogers store for you to come down and pick up. But I've confirmed with the employees there that their system will not allow them to process the upgrade on your account until April 10, and they're not even going to call you before the 10th even if it arrives early.
Anyone know where to get a S6 at a Reseller, looking to buy it outright and have it on the 10th, i've seen some sites like This but it doesn't have a date nor reviews to trust the site. Anyone have a better site I can get it at?

I just talked a bell online orders representative on the phone and after checking he said that they have not received anything yet.. He also said that it would ship as soon as they receive it..

Tough..

it seems the Gold version on Rogers and every other carrier in Canada is getting it April 30th... read the article on Mobilesyrup... they got confirmation from Samsung for the April 30th date
I have it pre orderd and i am #1 in line for the 64gb Gold Edge as well ;>
i am worried about the free wireless charging pad for the Gold version... i am corporate client and it still says u can get a free wireless charging pad on their NRS reservation system... @rogersHelp replied to me tweet saying it was dependent on what number you are in the queue... but never stated for which colour variant..
kinda sucked reading that news today... i was really excited to get my phone on april 10th.. sigh... oh well more time to get all my accessories since most are still pre order status.. i would rather get the colour i want if it's only going to take 3 more weeks.. i am not paying $460+ dollars for a colour i KIND of want.. rather pay to get what i want..
